A/N: Very tempted to call this verse The Spirit of Yule Compels You. It's terrible I know. I'm out of title ideas though. Continuation of I'd Like a Taste of Your Candy Cane and Shocked Senseless.
A chill came over Harry and he felt as though the was pulled through the trees until they reached a snow covered field. A closer look let him see that it was the field near Hogsmeade. He turned to the, surprisingly tall and overwhelming, Spirit of Yule in confusion.
"It's some time last Christmas, Harry," The Spirit of Yule said, looking down at him. Honestly the old man was as large as the trees he had appeared in. Leaves no longer surrounded his face but they did form a crown of sorts. He wore a long, thick robe that smelled of pine, fir and spruce that looked to be made of them as well.
"Is this supposed to be like the Muggle story of Scrooge?" he asked, as he noticed the he and friends were in the field building snowmen. He remembered that day. "I'm no Ebenezer."
"I'm the only spirit visiting you tonight, boy," said the Spirit. "Now pay attention. I'm not going to replay anything. Watch yourself and Ginevra."
He sighed, as he turned towards his past self. He and Ginny were shaping the snowman's midsection while Ron got sticks and George began the head. They had been racing against Hermione, Bill, Charlie and Malfoy -the latter pair had been dating at the time.
"I don't know what the point-"
"Shhh," the Spirit hushed, interrupting him.
And then Harry watched as he began to put the buttons on the snowman's torso. His eyes, old-Harry's eyes, glanced over at the other team and then doubled back to linger on Malfoy's magnificent-
"All right, so I took a peek at-" A sizzle of magic quickly rendered him speechless and Harry huffed and crossed his arms. Everyone took a peek every now and then. There is no helping it when someone bends over.
He was about to studiously ignore the irrelevant memory when he saw the way Ginny looked at him. She had noticed his staring at Malfoy's tush, and Harry was staring. He had thought of it as a quick glance or just a smidge longer than that, but ogle was a better way of describing what he had done. Suddenly some of the things Ginny had said to him when they broke up made more sense. But it was not as if he had fancied Malfoy. He did not. He would not.
Ginny watched him with sad eyes and then went back to the snowman. It was almost as if she had seen him do that before.
"You ignored yourself Harry," the Spirit said. "And I don't just mean your feelings for Draco. I mean your attraction to men."
"I'm not attracted to men!" he snapped, except he still could not speak.
"You ignored it all, and you told yourself that so long as there was never a chance of Draco returning any of those feelings it would be fine."
The memory faded from before them when George tossed the snowball that resulted a rather serious snowball fight. Harry felt as if they were speeding through trees once more and then they landed inside the Burrow.
"You aren't as good at ignoring it as you think," the Spirit said, as Ginny and Harry ambled drunkenly through the hall, snogging and laughing more loudly than he had thought at the time. They stumbled up the stairs and in their haste they went through the wrong door.
He and Ginny stumbled into the room Charlie and Malfoy had been in as the latter fucked the former into the mattress. They had hastily apologised and found their room.
And then Harry had fucked Ginny as hard as he had seen Malfoy fuck her brother.
"It wasn't fine, Harry," the Spirit said, as Ginny rolled away from Harry's sleeping form. "And you would have saved her, and your girlfriends after her, a fair bit of hurt if you'd acknowledge yourself."
