AN –
I am going to continue this story! Sorry for the LONG wait. I actually was going to abandon this but began to reconsider. DBZ Super is so phenomenal now that Future Trunks came on and the BV interaction is so breathtaking. Gotta unleash my fandom craze somehow, so I'll be continuing this for your pleasure.
You know those recap episodes in anime? The ones you skip, or at least I do. Well, this is one of those type things, but with a story this long I feel it is beneficial. Some people have gotten confused and this will refresh memories about what has actually occurred in every chapter.
Prologue – It is year 820 and Vegeta is approximately 88 years old. After Bulma died, Vegeta's health declined rapidly. He is prepared to die and meet his wife in the Otherworld. However, Vegeta Jr, his great-great grandson, gathered the dragon balls and wants to make a wish. Vegeta tells his grandson that he would wish to see Grandma again, unknowing that Vegeta Jr would actually wish for it and that he would send Vegeta back in time to see Grandma in the living. Thus, Vegeta is sent to the past to relive his life.
Chapter 1 – Vegeta is sent back in time 55 years prior, so he is approximately 33 years old. He awakens to find Bulma nearby after he destroyed the gravity room ship.
Chapter 2 – Vegeta tries to gain Bulma's attention, and get her away from Yamcha. He is polite, compliments her, and even buys Rocky Road ice-cream. The chapter ends with Bulma telling Vegeta that she broke up with Yamcha.
Chapter 3 – Frustrated that Bulma is taking too long to get officially with him, Vegeta takes off to space to get away for a while. Meanwhile, Bulma wonders when and if he will return. Upon his arrival, Bulma has sex with him from the emotional relief that he has come back.
Chapter 4 – This is a quick chapter about how Bulma notices that Vegeta isn't being so polite now that they are together. At the end, it is agreed that they are mated.
Chapter 5 – Time has passed and Bulma sleeps the majority of the nights in Vegeta's room. Bulma's mother arrives with a blanket, revealing that she knows that Bulma no longer sleeps in her own room; which embarrasses Bulma but not Vegeta. Vegeta glances at the calendar and realizes that Trunks' birthday is only 3 months away. He grows worried due to how Bulma is not pregnant yet, and so he understands that he has messed with the timeline. He decides to have sex with Bulma more in order to conceive Trunks, but Bulma misunderstands that he only wants their relationship to be physical.
Chapter 6 – Trunks' Birthday comes and goes but baby Trunks has not been conceived. Vegeta is extremely irritable and worried, and thinks maybe he is being punished for being such a bad father the first time around. Dr. Briefs discovers that the Internet history has pages about fertility and confronts Bulma. Bulma thinks that Vegeta is looking it up in order to prevent a baby. She tells Vegeta that she has been on the birth control pill, so he doesn't have anything to worry about. It turns out Bulma began to take the pill so he would not leave if she became pregnant (it is hinted that Bulma got off the birth control pill to get back at Vegeta when frustrated with their relationship in the first timeline, and so Trunks was born). Bulma tells Vegeta that she can be with him and not have a baby, but then Vegeta reveals that he has been trying to have a baby. She is happy and agrees to go off the birth control pill.
Chapter 7 – Bulma and Vegeta are bored and decide to go to Goku's house to visit. Yep, that is it.
Chapter 8 - Bulma reveals to Chi-Chi that she is with Vegeta. The women talk while Vegeta goes to search for Goku, who is fishing with Gohan. Bulma tells Chi-Chi that she may be pregnant.
Chapter 9 – Goku and Vegeta battle, with Vegeta coming in the victor. Finally, Vegeta is the strongest! Bulma notices that Vegeta is friendly toward Goku, in that he steals his food. During the flight home, Bulma needs to throw up. Vegeta can feel baby Trunks' ki; Bulma is pregnant.
Chapter 10 – Bulma and her mother think of baby names, but do not come up with either Trunks or Bra. Vegeta writes Trunks on the list and Bulma agrees that it is a good name. The baby kicks and Vegeta is nervous about touching her stomach, but he finally does. Vegeta becomes nervous that Bulma might figure out that he came from the future due to having knowledge that he shouldn't have (like that the baby is male and will have lavender hair). There is gossip about Bulma's pregnancy and that she is not married on television. Vegeta begins to think about asking her to marry him. He borrows money from her father and buys a wedding ring (inscribed with Woman on the inside of the band). He gives it to Bulma and proposes, but does not want an official ceremony (will go to the court house). However, he is willing to do a personal Saiyan wedding ceremony on the balcony.
Chapter 11 – This chapter begins at The Android saga. Bulma and Vegeta, now married, land at the bluff before anyone else. Vegeta is irritated that Bulma insisted on coming due to her late pregnancy. She is set on seeing the androids out of curiosity. Yamcha, Tien, Krillin, Piccolo, Gohan, and Goku arrive. Vegeta flies off, which we learn later was to find a bathroom (he is so sanitary). Everyone learns that Bulma is having Vegeta's baby, and that they are hitched. The men tell Bulma to leave, but she doesn't. However, she does sit down at least. The fighters leave to do battle when the androids show up.
Chapter 12 – Vegeta lands in Sasebo, searching for the androids. He receives a message from Yamcha that he found them. He follows to find Android 20 about to kill Yamcha, and since Vegeta doesn't have any fond feelings for the man, allows the android to put his hand through Yamcha's chest. We learn that Vegeta allowed Android 20 to take in the energy so that there would be more competition. The others arrive and take Yamcha for a sensu bean, like in the anime. Vegeta tells Goku to go home and get the heart virus antidote, which confuses Goku since Future Trunks only told him about it. Meanwhile, on the bluff, after the others patch up Yamcha with a sensu bean, and Goku goes home to get well, Android 20 arrives to suck fetus Trunks' life. Gohan tries to fend the android off but fails.
Chapter 13 – Vegeta arrives to save Bulma, but not until Android 20 had a little taste of Trunks' Saiyan power. He blasts Android 20 to smithereens. After the attack, baby Trunks' ki drops. Vegeta takes her to the others for a sensu bean, but it only cures Bulma and not the baby. Gohan shares that his father saved a bird by transferring ki energy into it, and so Vegeta gives his unborn son his energy, which works wonders. Future Trunks is in the group now, and finds the spectacle scary and then relieving. Piccolo spills that Future Trunks is their son, as his super strong hearing picked up the conversation between Goku and Future Trunks previously (like in the anime).
Chapter 14 – Things begin like in the show; they discuss finding 17 and 18, and Future Trunks talks about what he knows. All they need to do is find the Dr. Gero's laboratory. Bulma and Vegeta have a spat because she distracts everyone by talking about baby Trunks' kicks. She reveals to everyone that Vegeta wanted to be a father, which embarrasses the crap out of him. Vegeta considers killing 18 when he finds her but remembers that Bra becomes best friends with Marron. Future Trunks and Vegeta argue, as Trunks wants him to blow the lab up before the androids are activated. Seeing that he needs Future Trunks to trust him, he reveals his secret to his son: that he is from the future too.
Chapter 15 – Vegeta explains to Future Trunks that he is in fact the future Vegeta of this timeline, not another. He also tells him about Cell. Future Trunks agrees not to destroy 18 after he learns that she has a child. They take 18 but end up destroying 17, as neither have an emotional bond with him. When Vegeta goes to find Cell he discovers that the tank is empty, and a letter addressed to Dr. Gero is attached to it: You don't know what greatness is. But I will show you. Hedoro. And, so the mysterious Hedoro enters the plot.
Chapter 16 – They give deactivated 18 to Krillin so he can fly her to Bulma's lab, in which she will do experiments on her. At Capsule Corp, Future Trunks leaves a root beer bottle on the floor. Vegeta says without thinking, "Trunks, how many times have I told you to pick up your mess!" This sparks interest in Bulma, who wonders why he would say something like that. This makes Vegeta nervous, as he knows she is a genius and will soon figure out that he is from the future. The Briefs scientists start doing a database search for Hedoro.
Chapter 17 – Bulma wakes up to speculate that this Vegeta isn't the one she knew before the gravity machine explosions. She asks questions to Trunks about how time travel works, wondering if Vegeta came from an alternate timeline. She confronts Vegeta about her guess, but is scared that Vegeta will go back to his original time after defeating Cell. He assures her that he is there to stay. He lets slip that they will have children, as in multiple.
Chapter 18 – Bulma creates a special device to control Android 18. The results of the database search reveals that Dr. Hedoro is a colleague of Dr. Gero, having gone to the same college. Bulma begins to have pains, but she thinks they are Braxton Hicks contractions. She gets a phone call from Chi-Chi, learning that Goku is awake. When Goku hears about Cell on the phone, he uses instant transmission to come over. Like in the anime, Bulma shows them the picture of the time machine she was faxed. She tells Goku that Vegeta came from the future to help them defeat Cell, leaving out that he really came to be with her (Vegeta is grateful). They all get in a plane to track down the other time machine. Bulma keeps the information that she had contractions from them because she doesn't want to be left out (dumb Bulma).
Chapter 19 – They find a time machine, but it isn't the one in the photo. This time machine is in shiny condition, as if new. Bulma and Trunks have a conversation about how they see good qualities in Vegeta. They find the remains of the Cell who was not in the lab. Bulma has a contraction and the others find out she is in labor. Hedoro shows up and informs that he met them all in different timelines. He's been collecting ingredients for his Super Improved Cell: Goku, Vegeta, Trunks, two Yakumi aliens named Ketchup and Mustard, and Vegeta Jr. Turns out that Hedoro loved Gero and wanted to impress him. However, now he is angry that the gang killed his lover and wants revenge. Bulma goes to the plane to fly to the hospital but it won't work, as Dr. Hedoro messed with the engine. Uh oh, baby Trunks might be born in a plane.
Cell Explanation: Vegeta did not go into another dimension; he transmitted his thoughts and memory into his past body. However, he is making different choices. Have people seen The Butterfly Effect? Every action affects something that affects something else. Trunks came and made Goku catch the heart disease early, and also three other androids appeared. You could say that this is simply because of another timeline dimension, but I see it as his mere presence caused these things to happen.
As for The Super Improved Cell made by Hedoro, here is a full out clarification on how it happened. Dr. Hedoro existed in the original timeline as well (in this story). He was a colleague of Dr. Gero's and had strong feelings toward him that Dr. Gero did not return. Time is a little different in the story, given that Vegeta does things differently, spends a different amount of time doing certain things. Dr. Gero did not get a chance to go back to his lab to awaken 17 and 18. This allowed Hedoro to go to the lab and steal the Cell embryo and plant his note (taking Cell to improve him in attempt to win Gero's approval). In the original dimension, he did not because Gero was there. Hedoro got word of the time machine (he has a lot of technology he created to keep surveillance over discoveries), cleaned it up, and got the brilliant idea to travel around and gather cells for his new version of Cell. He went to the lab to brag to Dr. Gero by leaving another note and discovered it destroyed. He traveled through time, but only taking a few minutes in the DBZ timeline. In time, he discovered that the Z fighters always killed Dr. Gero. He now wants vengeance on them for repeatedly killing his precious Dr. Gero so many times. Apparently he's been to the future and took cells from Vegeta Jr. and even to other planets such as Yakumi (these facts will be important later). He came back to the DBZ verse with some advanced technology from the future, let his Cell loose to evolve (this one doesn't have to take a long time to hibernate), and killed the other Cell because it wasn't good enough. Now, he called The Super Improved Cell to destroy Vegeta, Goku, and Trunks, vanishing to his own laboratory who knows where.
Chapter 20 – Goku fights Super Improved Cell but loses and goes unconscious. Vegeta steps to the plate and sends Future Trunks back to check on Bulma, as he feels her ki still nearby. Bulma is in active labor, going to have birth in the plane. Future Trunks arrives and says he will go back and try to wake Goku for instant transmission.
Chapter 21 – Cell tells Vegeta to come back for a tournament in 10 days, when he is stronger. They go back to Bulma, who is about to have Trunks. Future Trunks finds a sensu bean in Goku's pocket and gives it to him. Goku then uses instant transmission to transport them to the hospital. Vegeta actually holds baby Trunks after he is born.
Chapter 22 – Just a note to remember, Ketchup, one of the Yakumi aliens, didn't fully fuse with Super Improved Cell. Cell worries that she might call her planet for help (I have a plan for everything I've included, people). Vegeta and Future Trunks go into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Inside, father and son bond. Vegeta offers to use the Namekian dragon balls to bring back Future Trunks' biological father, and the others.
Chapter 23 – Vegeta wakes up Android 18. He tells her that he killed her brother, which she is not too pleased about. Bulma isn't happy to learn that a maniac android is lose in the basement. Vegeta suggests that Krillin watch her, and use the device they made to control her power level if need be.
Chapter 24 – Turns out Krillin and 18 got chummy in the basement, which was the plan. Only thing is, he broke the special remote that controls her power. He offers to take 18 to Kame House to watch her there. In this chapter, you learn that the Yakumi aliens are from the planet Yakum, and are a pretty strong bunch. They communicate telepathically and join essences after death to become stronger. We also discover that planet Yakum is one of the few planets that Vegeta was unable to purge. (Expect this to be useful information later, folks)
Chapter 25 – Bulma argues with Vegeta after he doesn't prevent people getting slaughtered by Cell, who are seen on the news. Vegeta calls Goku and asks about the Namek balls. Goku says he was planning to use them to revive the dead people that Cell killed. Vegeta asks for a wish. Vegeta and Trunks return to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
Chapter 26 – They go to King Kai's planet to get to New Namek. They bring back everyone but Goku from the future timeline. Future Vegeta is uncaring towards his family and even insults Future Bulma, which pisses Vegeta off, and so he punches his counterpart in the jaw.
Chapter 27 – Vegeta and Future Trunks head to the new Super Improved Cell games. Vegeta suggests that Future Trunks and Gohan fight to see who is better against Cell. Gohan enters the battle first, but he isn't enough to kill Super Improved Cell and gets KO'd. After that, Future Trunks goes in. When Super Improved Cell is about ready to blast Future Trunks again like in the anime, Vegeta steps in the way to take the shot.
Chapter 28 – Wounded, the Z fighters gather round with concern. Goku tries to remain positive that his new buddy will make it. Vegeta stops breathing and Future Trunks suggests CPR. He asks Goku to transfer energy into Vegeta while he does chest compressions. Goku sends ki into Vegeta's heart and he revives. Then, Goku uses instant transmission to take him to the hospital. Vegeta wakes up to find Bulma crying over him. She informs that Super Improved Cell died from the combined strength of Trunks and Gohan. However, Goku died again. Vegeta tells Bulma that Goku is an idiot and won't want to come back. He is about to leave the hospital to knock some sense into the other Saiyan, but Bulma offers to go instead.
Chapter 29- After some persuasion from Bulma and Gohan, Goku agrees to come back to life. However, Goku decides to come back in 12 months; thus waiting to return until after Goten is born (poor Chi-Chi).
Chapter 30 – This chapter is about Future Trunks getting ready to go home. Vegeta takes him aside to train and gives him a hug goodbye, but not until Trunks agrees to never tell anyone.
Chapter 31 – It is a normal day at the Briefs, and Vegeta recognizes that he feels happy. He demands new training shoes, but Bulma is busy with work. So, he goes off to get his own pair. When he returns he finds Bulma dead. The scene is disturbing, as she lies perfect, even with a rose. There is a note from Hedoro: You and the boy killed my Gero and Super Improved Cell. No one steals my toys. Both of you must pay.
Chapter 32 – There is a flashback on how Bulma died. She gives a good go at getting away, even coming up with plans. But, Hedoro uses some alien device against her jugular vein and she becomes paralyzed. He tells her that slowly her organs will give out. The chapter goes back to present, and Vegeta carries her body to the lab and puts her in a freeze chamber for preservation. He will have to wait four months to bring her back; when the dragon balls are ready. Bulma's parents come home with baby Trunks and Vegeta reveals the horrible truth of Bulma's death. He discovers a crushed white bracelet on the floor (Hedoro's lost artifact).
Chapter 33 – The beginning of this chapter is just some fun about Krillin and 18 getting together. Vegeta comforts Trunks, who simply wants his mommy. Krillin comes to invite Bulma to his wedding but Vegeta breaks the news that Bulma is dead.
Chapter 34 – This chapter merges with Reconstruction, the side-story, as Future Bulma comes for a visit. She came for a visit because she needed some hope that her Vegeta could change, and wanted to see proof of the story she heard from Future Trunks (that this Vegeta had changed). Vegeta finds it unsettling and hard to have another Bulma around, but decides to let her stay awhile to take care of baby Trunks.
Chapter 35 – Future Bulma tinkers with the crushed white bracelet. She gets it to work and is transported to Hedoro's lab. There, she finds some weird alien devices, in which she steals a cube and a small metal disc (part of this is in Reconstruction). She steals the devices and comes back. Vegeta scolds her and there is a moment of attraction, but he pushes her away, stating that she needed to leave. He loves every Bulma, but the one that is currently dead is the one that is his.
Chapter 36 – Vegeta uses the bracelet to go to Hedoro's lab and confront him; murder him. He finds Hedoro, who is so insane that he formed himself into a Frankenstein monster, made up for Gero parts. He asks to now be referred to as Hedgero. Turns out that Hedgero/Hedoro is now a cyborg. They go to fight, but Hedgero is stronger. Vegeta uses the bracelet to get away, frustrated with himself for not dying on the battle field like a true Saiyan warrior. However, he doesn't want to abandon Trunks.
Chapter 37 – Bulma contacts Vegeta telepathically through Goku and King Kai. Goku does telepathy to speak to Chi-Chi, who isn't thrilled that he won't be around for their baby's birth.
Chapter 38 – There is some humor about Vegeta gathering all the dragon balls. Then, he goes off to a cave and brings Bulma back to life. They make love in the cave.
Chapter 39 – Vegeta is worried that Hedoro is going after Future Trunks and asks Bulma to build a time machine so that he can go to murder Hedoro. Bulma demands that she go along. Vegeta protests but then agrees on one condition: that she train to protect herself.
Chapter 40 – Vegeta takes Bulma to the gravity room. He lets slip Bra's name, and Bulma wants to know about her, but Vegeta refuses. His goal is to get Bulma to power level 80. She hates the training. They have an argument, since she wants to take a break. She shuts the gravity off and Vegeta gets infuriated. Out of his mind, he shoots a blast in her direction, which she is able to avoid due to the training. Shocked at himself, Vegeta flees the scene.
Chapter 41 – Vegeta calls the training off, as he doesn't trust himself. Bulma protests because they had a deal. He goes off to space in order to train for Hedoro, and to clear his head. When Vegeta comes home, he finds out that Trunks can fly. He is horrified to discover that there was a robber, but Bulma was able to defend herself. He decides to train her to fly, but other training will be done by herself, or with someone else (such as Krillin, Goku, Chi-Chi, etcetera). Turns out that Bulma staged the whole burglar scenario in order to show Vegeta that she learned a thing or two about defense. But, the man turned his back on her and actually attacked her in order to steal their possessions.
Chapter 42 – Bulma ends up training alone, really going hard-core, and surpassing the power level of 80.
Chapter 43 – Vegeta thinks over the changes he's made in this new timeline, including how Bulma is training. He feels almost like his previous family died and a new family replaced them. What bothers him even more is that this timeline replaced the other one and the other Bulma, Trunks, and Bra are no more – won't even be in the Otherworld.
Chapter 44 - Vegeta is distant, so Bulma locks him in the GR until he agrees to have a talk. She waits, watching over a screen, as he is stubborn. Bulma tortures him by eating a sandwich. Meanwhile, he needs to use the restroom. Finally, he gives in and confides that he misses the other Bulma, Trunks, and Bra. He explains that Bulma is not a replacement for the other Bulma. She tells him that there is only forward, that he has to live, and not throw what he has away. The chapter ends with the couple embracing, and Bulma telling him she loves him.
Chapter 45 – They fool around near the time machine and it starts up. Yay, it is ready to go. They go upstairs and make love. Bulma asks him how he prefers her hair, which he says long. She confesses that she forgot to take her birth control pill and he says that it is okay.
Chapter 46 – Bulma and Vegeta prepare to go to the future, saying goodbye to baby Trunks. When they arrive, they meet up with Future Bulma, who looks young. She states that she used the dragon balls for youth. Bulma examines this time's Capsule Corp and recognizes that there aren't any family photos. She gets the sense that the residents are distant with each other.
Chapter 47 – Vegeta tells Future Vegeta that he came because Hedoro made a threat against Future Trunks. Future Vegeta, however, tells him to get lost, as he is his son and can defend him without help. Vegeta shows Future Vegeta the power he has to illustrate how strong Hedoro is if he had trouble against him. Future Vegeta shows off that he knows instant transmission. They agree to share combat knowledge, but Future Vegeta will only do so before Vegeta leaves for home.
Chapter 48 – Vegeta acts playful in the middle of the night. Bulma talks with Future Bulma. Her future self gives her the alien cube from Hedoro's lab, informing that she took a trip to the far-off future, in which that Bulma told her that the cube was important. Future Bulma shows her the disc, which is a truth device, but Future Vegeta broke it. Future Bulma reveals that she is pregnant, and that Future Vegeta knows, but he hardly talks to her after hearing the news. That is why she wants the truth disc to work, so that he will talk to her. Bulma wakes up the next morning to Future Vegeta shooting the pillow next to her head. He scolds Vegeta for not being punctual to their training session.
Chapter 49 – Vegeta and Future Vegeta spar. Vegeta tells Future Vegeta that he will share his information about instant transmission before he shares his moves. Reluctantly, Future Vegeta tells him to begin by meditating. Vegeta goes to the lookout and tries to meditate but soon grows frustrated, giving up. Future Trunks comes and they spar together. Trunks tells him that he sees him more as a father than Future Vegeta because Future Vegeta doesn't spend any time with him.
