Gideon felt immense satisfaction watching his future brother in law squirm. He had turned red when he asked how long. He watched Elliott sit up straighter.

"I really don't want to have this conversation here."

"Does your sister know you are here?"

"No. Ireland met me at the airport and we came straight here. Is Mia here with you?"

"No. I'm here for a business meeting. Come by the penthouse tomorrow without my sister. That is if you can manage to get away." He stood up when he saw Elliott gulp. "I'll go before my sister comes back."

The business meeting went well and he was about to open a new business. He wondered what Mia would think about him opening a new club in Seattle. They just needed to come in later within the next week to sign contracts. He made his way up to the penthouse and wondered what Mia had done while he was gone. Undoing his tie, he walked in and stopped. Scattered all over the coffee table were magazines. Mia sat on the floor writing on a tablet. She looked up when she heard the elevator.

"Hi."

"Hi. What are you doing?"

"Looking at wedding magazines. Trying to get some ideas for the reception. You know flowers, centerpieces, etc. How did your meeting go?"

"Very well. They come in within the week to sign contracts." He sat down next to her and kissed her and picked up a magazine. ''Find anything you like?"

"A few things. When we go to Seattle next week, I want to meet with the florist and give her my ideas and the bakery that is doing the cake. We have to do the tasting together."

"Naturally. I'll go with to the florist as well. Is everything set up for the dinner party at the house."

"Yes. I ordered everything and it is going to be set up around six with everyone arriving at seven."

"Guess who I ran into at the restaurant?"

"Who?"

"Your brother."

"Elliott?"

"He is here to see Ireland."

"Wow. He didn't let me know he was coming."

"I don't think they wanted anyone to know." He said. "He's coming over tomorrow so we can talk."

"Talk?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Yes just talk. I promise I won't hurt him." He said standing up. "Leave this for tomorrow. I'm ready for bed."

"Are you?"

"I am. Go get ready while I lock up."

She gave him a smile and went up the stairs to their room. She got the bed ready and dimmed the lights. Then she went to the bathroom and ran a bath. She set candles around, poured her favorite oil in the water and took her clothes off. She slipped on a robe and waited for her love to come. She didn't wait long. He called her name and then he was standing at the door of the bathroom.

"What's this?"

"I thought you would want to take a bath first."

She saw his eyes darken with desire. "As long as you're in the bath with me."

She dropped her robe and held out her hand. He moved forward until he stood right in front of her. She started taking his clothes off. When she saw finished he pulled out the cast protector she was glad she only had a few more days until her cast came off. She wanted to be romantic but she didn't think this past for it. When he was done, he gazed into her eyes.

"A few more days and then we won't have to do this anymore. Romance isn't what we see, it's what we feel for each other."

"How do you know what I am thinking?"

"I know you Mia. This isn't romantic to you but it doesn't take away from your beauty. You are stunning, with a cast or without. Let's get into the water before it gets cold."

Elliott showed up at two in the afternoon and after saying hello to Mia, he went to Gideon's office. He knocked and went in.

"Are you busy?"

"Nothing that can't wait." He said. "Have a seat? Want a drink?"

"Sure."

Gideon stood up and went to the cabinet that held the liquor. He poured to glasses of Scotch handed to him and then sat back down. They each took a sip and stared at each other. He could tell Elliott was nervous and in a way, he liked that.

"How long have you been having sex with my sister?"

"Do you really want to know?"

"No. Is this a serious relationship or are you just having fun?"

"I don't know. At first we were having fun just hanging together. I had every intention not having a sexual relationship with her and it just sort of happened."

Gideon just stared at him. "I don't know if you are aware of this but Ireland has only seriously dated one guy and he ended up screwing her over. I don't want to see her hurt again. It was hard the first time. She came to me instead of her mother. I did what I could which wasn't much. I don't want to see her like that again. I don't know what your feelings are but her feelings for you are plain as day. She wants there to be something between you two, probably more than just sex. Your reputation isn't very good. I've heard lots of stories from Mia. She says you were a man whore until you got with Kate, then you were going to marry her. She says you've changed. I hope it's still that way."

"Look Gideon, that last thing I want to do is hurt Ireland. Yes, I like women and I have slept with my fair share. Right now, I could be married to Kate if things wouldn't have happened the way they happened. I realize now that would have been a big mistake. Ireland and I have something that Kate and I never did. We talk, we have fun. It's not all about sex. She tells what she wants to do with her life. She asks me what I think. She's interested in the things I do. Something Kate was not. Kate was only interested in herself and what the Grey name could give her. We like most of the same things. I know she's only twenty-one and that I'm almost thirty but I would like to see where this goes. She makes me feel good when I'm around her. I don't know how to explain it."

"I know how you feel." He said." Just take it slow and don't hurt her."

"I'm having dinner with her at Christian's apartment." He said. "I have a business that I own and can't be here all the time. We talked about it and I'm not happy with just weekends and neither is she. So, I'm going to ask her to come to Seattle with me tonight and stay the week. It's easier for her to do that than me."

"It makes sense and she's really not doing anything now."

"She wants to go to school. She wants to take business class or management classes."

"What? Ireland."

"She wants to help me run my business. She said she wanted to talk to you about working for you but she has since changed her mind. If she comes this week, which I'm sure she will, I'll have come work with me so she can see what is that I do."

"Interesting."

Elliott looked at his watch. "I have to go. There is something I need to do before I get back to the apartment."

"I guess I'll see you next weekend."

"We good."

"We're good."

Elliott left and Gideon sighed. He leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes. He heard the door open and close. Seconds later Mia slid onto his lap, laid her head against his chest.

"I saw Elliott before he left. He didn't have any bruises so I assume everything went okay."

"It did. I think he wants a relationship with Ireland. I don't know. We'll see what happens but I think my baby sister will be moving to Seattle."

"Really?" He nodded. "I could see that happening. He's different around her in a way that he wasn't with Kate. Do you have a problem with that? If she does."

"No but our mother might. She won't like it. She's used to having Ireland at her beck and call. Her father is another story. He won't like it because that is his baby girl. That will be Elliott's problem."

"Not funny. I've met your mother."

"I know. What is on the agenda for this week?"

"I have my doctor appointment to get his cast off on Wednesday. I have to confirm everything by Thursday for Saturday. What time are we leaving Friday?"

"Angus will bring you to the office around five and we're scheduled to leave at six."

"Okay." She said. "Do you have anything coming up this week?"

"Just a couple of meetings but they are early in the day. I have some people going this week to Seattle to look for properties."

"For the move."

"Yes. I need to start considering it. It's going to take a while to get things going."

"Gideon you don't have to do that for me. Your business is here. I understand that."

"I've talked to my team and lawyers and I think instead of moving the whole business I'm just going to open an office there but that is where my main office will be. I'll also be moving some of people from New York to there. I know how lonely you are here and I would rather have you around your family and people you know. I have someone that I can leave in charge of this office and know it will run smoothly."

"I'm sure you could ask Christian for help if you need it." He raised an eyebrow and she laughed. "I'm just saying."

Ireland had called Sunday late afternoon to tell Gideon that she was leaving to go to Seattle for the week. She sounded excited and happy. He couldn't help but smile. The only downer was that their mother had raised all kinds of hell when she found out. She wanted to know who was that man that she was seen with and the person who saw her said he was older. She hung up before her mother could ask any more questions. She told him that she would probably call him to ask him if he knew anything. He told her that he wouldn't say anything but what was he supposed to say if her father called. She said that she would talk to him when she came back. He told her to have fun and enjoy herself.

It had snowed at the beginning of the week and there was still snow on the ground when Mia left to meet Gideon for an early lunch before her appointment. She was excited to get the cast off her arm. It felt it she had been in a cast for months, which was technically true. She waited on the car for him and didn't have to wait long. He brought the cold air with him when he opened the door. He saw her shiver.

"I'm sorry baby." He said hugging and kissing her.

"It's really cold out there."

"It really is. Where do you want for lunch?"

"Something light, like a salad or soup."

They went to a sandwich shop where they split a salad and each had a bowl of soup. They talked to each other while they snuggled with each other. The waitress cleared their table, Gideon left a tip and they left.

They arrived at the appointment with a few minutes to spare. Mia signed in while Gideon found a seat. The office was full of patients so the wait time was a little more than usual. She looked around the room and noticed several women staring at him. Typing on his phone, he was obvious to the stares. She smiled and leaned her head against his shoulder. Her smile widens when he kissed her head without taking his eyes off the screen. After a thirty-minute wait, she was finally called back. They followed the nurse to an exam room. They watched look at her chart.

"The doctor wants an x-ray done to make sure your arm is healed before he takes the cast off."

"Okay."

"I have to ask is there any chance you are pregnant or are pregnant."

"No. I don't think so."

"We'll put on one of those lead aprons on."

She followed the nurse to the x-ray room and it took minutes to take the pictures. She went back to her room and waited with Gideon. Minutes later the door opened and the doctor came in. He shook hands with Gideon and then he said hello to Mia.

"How are we doing today?" They both said they were fine. "Well the x-ray looks good and your bone has healed. So, we'll be taking the cast off."

While he was talking, the nurse was getting the tools ready. She covered Mia with a paper blanket so she wouldn't get her clothes dirty. The doctor turned on the saw looking tool and got to work on cutting through the hard plaster. Finally, it was off and Mia looked at her arm. It was thinner than the other but she knew it was expected.

"Since the cast is off you can go home and soak it in some water to remove some of that dead skin before it starts itching. You don't need a brace but be careful what you pick up. Don't pick up anything heavy for at least a couple of weeks. Any questions?"

"No."

"Now have you decided what you want to do with your ankle."

"We're getting married in a couple of months and I don't want to be wearing a cast when I do."

"I understand. Are you taking the pain pills?"

"Only when I have to and I take over the counter meds instead. I know when I'm pushing myself. I try not to."

"Okay well that option is open when you're ready. I'll see you as needed and congratulations to you both."

They said their goodbyes, left the building. Mia was happy to have the cast off and it showed. They made plans for dinner and went to watch the skaters. He bought them hot chocolate to drink while they watched. After an hour, they strolled down Fifth Avenue stopping at a few shops, ate dinner and then went home.

It was just before noon two days later; Gideon was at his office talking on the phone. He was making sure the plane was ready to go to Seattle. They would be leaving at the end of the business day. He was just about to call Mia when she walked into his office in a daze. Her face caused him to come out from behind his desk, rushing to her.

"Mia, baby what's wrong?" She shook her head, scaring him. "Are you hurt? Talk to me."

He led her to the sofa in his office and sat down with her. She pulled out something from her purse and handed it to him. He took it from her hand and looked at it. He opened his mouth and shut it. He did that a couple of times. He turned to her and saw tears running down her face.

"Are you sure? I mean of course you're sure. Why didn't you tell me?"

"When we went to have the cast taken off, the nurse asked that question and it made me realize that it's been a couple of months. I knew the pill could cause it but I wasn't sure because I still had it when I first started taking it. So, I went to the doctor to be sure and she told me… she told me that my pregnancy test was positive. She wanted to do an ultrasound and it showed I was pregnant, six weeks due September 5th. Your birthday."

"How did this happen? You took your pill every day."

"I know and that is what I told her. She said it was one of those cases where the pill didn't work. She said sometimes it happens. She wants to talk to us. She said it would a very risky and we needed to make some decisions."

"Are you okay?"

"I'm excited but I'm mostly scared. You know what happened the last time. You know what they told me."

"Baby look at me. That happened because you had an accident. Let's talk to the doctor and she what she has to say."

"Okay. Are you okay? With this?"

"Mia your having my baby. Of course, I'm excited, happy but I won't lie to you. I'm worried but I know that everything we'll be fine. When does the doctor want to talk?"

"As soon as possible."

"Let's go and see what she says."
