Olympics 2014 Day 1
Per usual, every country (at least the more popular ones) was gathered together watching the Olympics. Each country was actually allowed to accompany their athletes to the games. During the figure skating Russia was clearly smug with himself as it was finalized that he was first place. America was not liking this fact. Sure, it was all fair, but seriously, he had taken home so many gold medals in the last few Olympics than Russia, and now suddenly Russia beats him? Not on his watch.
America glared at Russia, knowing that he could probably provoke Russia into attacking, and when he retaliated call it defense. Russia, he noticed, wasn't looking his way. America vowed that he would win more medals than Russia. He couldn't let his one and only nemesis beat him. The Hero never loses! Once that was decided America dragged Canada (it was one of the only times he really made it evident that he knew Canada), to the snowboarding competitions.
"America, what are you doing?" Canada asked.
"Dude, I thought we were using our human names while we were here." America pointed out, deliberately not answering his dear brother's question.
"America…" Canada hissed over Kumajirou's head.
"Fine, it's Russia, I can't handle that he won first in both qualifiers! That's so unfair!" America stomped his foot and the word Russia sounded like poison.
"Well, we are in Russia's territory, eh?" Canada reasoned. "Besides, are you not as confident you can beat him on his own turf?"
"No way! A hero wins no matter if it's his own turf or not! Take a look at the superbowl. The hawks won and they weren't on their own turf."
"Alfred, this is nothing like your superbowl. Though, I have to admit, that game was over by the second quarter." Canada relented.
"I know right?" America stated. "Anyway, I figure Russia wouldn't win anything in the snowboarding competition, so he's not going to be here."
America walked over and stood at the end of the slope. He knew that it was going to be fun to watch his people compete, even if they didn't win; as long as they beat Russia's guys. Canada walked up and stood beside him as the games commenced. America cheered for his own people, and even Canada's people. He couldn't hate his brother, they were a like in many ways. After the amazing jumps and everything it turned out America was out of the qualifying round… again.
"Bro… you beat. How?! I created the sport!"
"You also created hockey, and yet I mastered that. It's not unheard of."
"But…but… bro… you-"
"Would you rather Russia get this one as well?"
"Dude, bro, that's just harsh." America commented.
"If it makes you feel better, this has only begun and don't you have other areas that you excel in?"
"I guess… but still, this is a lame start."
Canada gave a smile and patted America's shoulder, "Might be lame, but don't all heroes come from lame beginnings?"
"What you on bro?"
"Think about it. Spiderman was given powers by a spider. Sounds pretty lame to start a story. Batman? More sad than lame, but still, he was born with influence, but didn't know how to fight."
"I… kind of see where you're going with this. Still doesn't make it any easier."
"Then go watch your superbowl, eh? Maybe that will cheer you up."
America and Canada walked back to the hotel in silence. They got about half way before America decided to pipe up with some useless fact about the superbowl… in his own unique and show off way.
"Hey, bro, did you know that Washington was complaining about a headache for a whole day the day after the superbowl?"
"I remember BC mentioning it."
From then on America had forgotten about the Russian victory early on. He had forgotten how much he liked having a brother to talk to.
