Daughter of the Deadman II

Hey, all. This one is kind of short, but hey, Wrestlemania is next so it will probably be a long chapter. Besides, it's been a long time since I did a short chapter. I gotta thank Randy's Viper Girl for helping me with the chapter. I've been busy doing Christmas stuff. Not to mention I've made my YouTube debut doing Let's Plays. Since I can't post a link here, it is in my profile.

Thanks also to: blackbear1020, Wolfgirl77769, Cena's baby doll, InfectedElite, deadmawalking55, kakashishot, and tomwilliams1990 for their reviews. I hope you guys don't mind that the Deadman Magic isn't super duper over powered, but that's the way that I want it. I don't want him to be able to fix every little thing and get them out of every jam. I like having a sense of normalty for my characters even with the powers.

deadmanwalking55: Thanks so much.

blackbear1020: Glad you love it. Thanks so much

Wolfgirl77769: Horray! You're back. Thanks for the review. Glad you like the chapter.

Alright then, with all that said, I will see you all at the bottom.

Chapter 52: The Aftermath of The Explosion

Taker sat up with a start. He had fallen asleep next to Angel's bed. It was almost a week removed from Hunter's attack and Angel's power explosion and Angel had gotten no better despite the fact that Kristy had been giving her Healing Light for the last two days at regular intervals. Angel had been sleeping non stop and Taker had been sitting there. He stood up and stretched. That was when he noticed a few things. Kristy was asleep on the other bed and next to her, Wyatt was laying there sound asleep. He also noticed that Lea had gotten into Angel's bed and curled up next to her sister. She was awake and looking worried. He also noticed that sunlight was streaming through the window.

"Daddy?" Lea asked.

"Good morning, Little One." Taker said.

Lea carefully climbed from the bed and walked over to Taker. He picked her up. Lea flung her arms around her Dad's neck and started to cry. She knew that Angel wasn't well. Taker sighed and took Lea from the room so that she wouldn't wake Kristy and Wyatt. He was shocked when he saw everyone waiting for him. He only shook his head, telling them that Angel hadn't gotten better.

"I don't get this. It was working before!" Bret said.

"Taker, Kane, you know a lot about this stuff. Have you got any idea why this isn't working like it should?" Owen asked.

"No." Kane said.

"No idea. She should at the very least be awake by now, but it's been a week and there's nothing. If anything, she's getting weaker." Taker said.

"Well, maybe there's something wrong with-" Bret started.

"There is nothing wrong with Kristine. She has done everything right, Bret. If anything, something is happening with Angel that we don't know about because she can't tell us!" Taker snapped at him.

"This may sound weird, but I'm going to throw it out there...is there some way that Angel could have become immune to the Healing Light because Kristy and Wyatt gave it to her so much?" David asked.

"Possibly. But that's unlikely I think." Kane said.

"Are we sure that there's nothing the matter with Kristy?" Bret asked.

"Bret, what is with you?! Why is it that you always try to find something wrong with Kristy?! All it does is make everyone mad and gets you in deep trouble!" Davey said.

"Honestly, Bret, you always do that. Every time something bad happens to Angel, you blame Kristy." Owen said.

"And this is not her fault! She has done everything right. She's done everything we've asked of her and she even volunteered to use the healing light on Angel because she thought it would help!" Taker said.

"OK. OK. I'm sorry. I'm only saying...how do we know for sure that it's something wrong with Angel?" Bret said.

"It does us no good to get him to understand anything, does it Big Brother?" Kane said.

"No. Bret, I'm going to say this one more time so pay the hell attention. Something is wrong with Angel that we don't know about because she can't tell us! Understood?" Taker said.

"Fine." Bret snapped.

"Whatever it is, we've got to figure it out soon. Every time something happens to Angel, things fall apart." Nattie said.

"We fall apart, you mean." Tyson said.

"Exactly." Nattie said.

"OK, so how do we find out what's wrong and how to fix it?" Bret asked.

"Don't be so pushy, Uncle Bret." Kristy said from the doorway.

"Kristy, he's got a point. We don't exactly have the luxury of time here." Kane said.

"She wants to rest." Kristy said.

"You don't know that! She could be dying for all we know!" Bret said.

"Kristy, are you positive?" Kane asked.

"She told Lea and I that when we went into her head." Kristy said.

"Bret, stop screaming at Kristy." Davey said.

"I just want Angel get better! She not doing good and I not want her go!" Lea sobbed.

Everyone looked at her. Taker had forgotten he even had hold of her. They all knew how Lea felt. They didn't want to lose Angel either. Taker tried to set Lea down on the couch, but there was no way that she was going to let go of him.

"Lea, it's OK." Taker said.

"NO! NOT TAY!" Lea shouted.

"LeLe, hey, remember what Angel said when we went into her dream. She said she'd be back soon, but she wanted to rest for awhile first." Kristy said.

"But I want Angel come back now!" Lea said.

"I know, LeLe. I know you want Angel back, but she needs rest." Kristy said.

"Besides...even when she wakes up...she might not be very strong." Taker said.

"What do you mean?" Kristy asked, startled.

"Power explosions can cause you to be very weak. The more she rests now, the stronger she'll be when she does come to." Taker said.

"You sound like you're talking from experience, Deadman." Owen said.

"I am. It's happened to me before. I tried to hide my powers from Bethy because I didn't want to scare her. She did what she could for me, but you know how I am. I'm not one to lay down and rest." Taker said.

"We know how stubborn you are." Kristy, Nattie, David, and Tyson said at the same time.

Just then, there was a scream from the bedroom. Then Wyatt came running out, crying. He had evidently been startled awake by Angel's scream. Taker pushed past everyone. He walked over to the bed and knelt down. Wyatt and Kristy followed him. They looked worried.

"Uncle Taker, what's happening?!" Kristy asked.

"She's coming to. That's what's happening." Taker answered.

"But...if she's coming to, how come she screamed like that?" Kristy asked.

"It's the pain of coming to, Kristy." Taker said.

"But...why is it painful for her to come to?" Kristy asked.

"After you've been in a coma like state for awhile, Little Kristy, when you come to, it hurts worse because you feel more of the pain then you did before." Kane said.

"Well, if it's hurting her then I don't want her to wake up!" Kristy said.

"The pain will subside when she's fully awake, Kristy." Taker said.

"Mommy, I confused. What wrong?" Wyatt asked.

"Is Angel tay?" Lea asked.

"Aunt Angel is trying to wake up, Baby Boy, but she's hurting a little bit because she's been sleeping so long." Kristy said.

"Oh...so Aunt Angel be tay!" Wyatt said.

"Not quite." Kane whispered.

"What do you mean?" Kristy asked.

"Even though you and Wyatt gave her light energy, Lea gave her all the energy she could spare, and she's rested, she...isn't going to be that strong. We'll have to keep a close eye on her and make sure she stays safe." Kane said.

"This is one of those times when I wish my you know what powers would kick in." Kristy said.

"Even if they did...I don't know how much good it would do." Taker said.

Just then, Angel screamed again. Even though she was screaming and was in obvious pain, she seemed to be coming to anyway. Everyone watched. Taker took hold of Angel's hand. He looked worried about her even though he knew what was happening. Suddenly, Angel stopped moving and went quiet.

"What happened? Why did she stop trying to wake up?" Kristy asked.

"This isn't easy for her, Kristy. It's going to take time." Kane said.

"I DON'T CARE! ANGEL, WAKE UP!" Kristy yelled.

"Kristy! That's enough! Kane's right! Waking up from this isn't easy. The only reason I never went through this is because I was too damn stubborn to lay down and rest. I literally stayed awake and lived off of Bethy's energy and that was it! So, you can stop yelling!" Taker snapped.

"Big brother, you just..." Kane said.

"Taker, are you sure that what you just did was a good idea?" Owen asked.

"Oh, Mark, what have you done?" Beth said softly.

"Uncle Taker...I...you..." Kristy said, tears rolling down her face.

"Kristy...I didn't mean to snap...I'm sorry. But...you've got to be patient. I know you want Angel to wake up. I do too and so do the others, but yelling and screaming isn't going to help her come to any quicker. If we just wait, she'll come to." Taker said quietly.

"Wow. Why did he calm down so quickly?" Owen said.

"He got screamed at." Kane said with a smile.

"What are you talking about?" Owen asked.

"Angel of course. My brother and I can communicate with her telepathically. You might not have been able to hear that, but he sure did. And I did too." Kane said.

"She scream at him for making Kristy cry?" Owen asked.

"Yes and for raising his voice to her like that which he's never done before." Kane said.

"Uncle Taker...I didn't mean to yell. It's just..." Kristy said.

"You'll feel a lot better about this whole thing once you know for sure that she'll be alright." Taker said.

"How did you...?" Kristy said.

"I think we all feel that way, sweetheart." Owen said.

"She knows that. Wyatt and Kristy are going to have to be careful when Angel does wake up. They could both go weak." Beth said.

"What do you-?" Taker started.

"What are you talking about?! You didn't tell us that before, Deadman!" Bret snapped, sticking his head in the door.

"Look, even we don't know everything there is to know about powers! So just lay off!" Taker snapped at him.

"He's right, Bret. We don't know everything about powers. Beth will have to explain this one." Kane said.

"Because Wyatt and Kristy have both use much of their healing power on her that when she wakes up, it's not going to just go back to them. Now, because he's younger and he's not Angel's guardian, it may not affect Wyatt as much. But it's going to affect Kristy for sure because without even knowing it, Kristy has been giving Angel her own powers. Sometimes...Guardians have hard decisions to make and Kristy has made one of the toughest ones. She could have left Angel in a near comatose state if she wanted to, but she's been giving Angel her power without even realizing it." Beth said.

"But...how could I do it without even knowing?" Kristy asked.

"That's the mystery, My Little Kristy. We don't know." Beth said.

"Look, who cares? All that matters is that Angel is going to wake up and things will get back to normal!" Bret said.

"BRET! Have you listened to anything we've said. Even though Angel has been given energy by Wyatt, Kristy, and Lea and rested for almost a week, she's not going to be very strong! We have to keep a close eye on her and keep her out of harm and trouble!" Kane snapped at him.

"That's right. The energy that's been given to her is what she used to keep herself from dying. The week's worth of rest restored some of her strength, but nowhere near all of it!" Beth snapped at him.

"Not to mention we have to watch Kristy." Owen said.

"So don't assume things are just gonna go back to normal after Angel comes to!" Taker snapped.

Just then, Angel started to stir again. She seemed to be in a lot of pain this time too. Lea started crying. She ran to Kane and hugged him, evidently scared. Kristy ran to Owen. He hugged his niece. He knew full well that she hated seeing Angel in pain. Wyatt just stood there with wide eyes, looking worried. He was fine until Angel screamed out loud.

"Deadman, can't you do something for her? She's obviously in agony!" Bret said.

"No, Bret. We just have to let this happen. I know it's hard to watch, but it's the only way." Beth said.

"All the pain that she didn't feel the night her powers exploded is hitting her." Kane said.

"It's going to take some time, but she'll come out of it." Taker said.

"Uncle Taker, how can you be so calm?" Kristy asked.

"He's not, Kristy. Believe me. Mark is anything but calm at the moment." Beth said.

"How can you tell?" Kristy asked.

"He's tense and worried. I can read him like a book just like you can Adam." Beth said.

Kristy nodded. She looked at Taker again and she could see it now. He really was worried and he did seem a lot more tense then normal. Not only that but he seemed to be crying. Everyone was shocked by that. Taker didn't cry much. It usually took something completely horrible happening to trigger tears from the Deadman.

"Angel...it's OK, Baby girl. We're here. Don't be scared..." Taker whispered.

"He's crying..." Bret said.

"You say that like it's a surprise." Owen said.

"I...wish she would stop screaming..." Kristy said, reaching up to pull out her hearing aids.

"Kristy, I know you want to, but don't." Beth said.

"It's hurting my ears." Kristy said.

"Beth, just let her take them out if she wants to. If you don't, she'll be screaming too and Angel screaming is enough right now." Owen said.

Beth nodded. Kristy reach up and pulled her hearing aids out. Then she turned and looked at Angel. She had to be screaming still, Kristy knew that, but she also seemed to be trying to make herself wake up. Not only that, but Taker was talking to her.

After a few minutes, Angel relaxed again, but this time she tried to open her eyes. When she did, she looked around in fear. Kristy put her hearing aids back in.

"Angel?" she asked.

Angel looked at Kristy. Then she looked away. She looked at Taker and started to cry. Then she buried her face in her Dad's chest. Taker hugged her. She was shaking. Everyone looked worried. No one knew what to say. Even Bret kept his mouth shut for a change.

"It's OK, Baby Girl. You're safe now." Taker said.

"I'm so sorry, Daddy." Angel said.

"For what? You didn't do anything wrong." Taker told her.

"I let my power build up." Angel said.

"I know you did." Taker said.

"Are you mad?" Angel asked.

"No. I'm only upset because you almost left us." Taker said.

"But..." Angel said.

"You didn't know what would happen, baby girl. It's alright." Taker said.

"A power build up is very rare, Angel Baby, it doesn't happen to everyone." Beth said.

"Oh..." Angel said.

"There's only one other person who has ever been through it and you're hugging him." Kane said.

"What?! Daddy?! You..." Angel said.

"I tried to hide my powers from your mother because I didn't want to scare her. At the time I didn't know she was my Guardian or that she knew about powers. Thankfully, she wasn't home when mine exploded because at the time, she was pregnant with you." Taker said.

"Mom?" Angel asked.

"I never told your Dad about my Guardian powers either. We aren't supposed to reveal ourselves unless needed." Beth said.

"Coming home to find Daddy in that condition definitely qualifies as being needed." Angel whispered.

"I could only do so much for him. And he was stubborn." Beth said.

"He's not one to lay down and rest. Hell, he gets restless if he goes too long without wrestling." Angel whispered.

"Baby girl, I know this might be difficult for you, but I need you tell me what happened in the stairwell. What did Hunter do that triggered you to explode like that?" Taker asked.

"I was...just sitting there thinking. And...then I heard the door open. Hunter came up the stairs and said he needed to have a word with me. I asked him what it was about and he said that he wanted me to help him win because he deserved to have the win handed to him after trying twice. I said no. He grabbed my arm and told me I was going to help him or else I'd have big trouble coming. When I still said no...he slapped me. The next thing I knew, Mom was standing over me, giving me some of her energy. Then I staggered from the stairwell and headed for the locker room. The last thing I remember is...collapsing and you catching me, Daddy. I don't remember the actual power exploding." Angel whispered.

"You wouldn't, baby girl. And it's a good thing you don't." Taker said.

"All I remember is...somewhere in the midst of everything. I had the most intense flashback I've ever had. I was back in Calgary...and it wasn't Hunter that was beating me, it was him. It may have made the explosion worse..." Angel whispered.

"It's possible, baby girl." Taker said.

Just then, Lea and Wyatt both ran over and climbed up on the bed. Lea and Wyatt looked at her worriedly. Both of them were scared to talk to her. Taker looked over at them. He nodded at them both saying it was alright and that they could talk to Angel.

"Angel? How...are you?" Lea asked.

"Aunt Angel? You all better now?" Wyatt asked.

"No, Wyatt, I'm not all better, Little Guy. Even though you, Mommy and Lea helped me...I don't have much strength. I feel...off. Like I'm not myself." Angel whispered, still hugging Taker.

"It's going to take some time for you to get your strength back, baby girl." Taker said.

"OK. What about Wrestlemania? Can I still be there?" Angel asked.

"Of course, Baby Girl. We need to keep a close eye on you." Taker said.

Angel beamed. She didn't want to ruin things for everyone. Although, she wasn't looking forward to it as much given what had happened. She wasn't sure why, but she had a feeling that Hunter wasn't quite finished with her yet.

Alright, that's it for now. I hope you all liked the chapter. Next time...is Wrestlemania 28! Yay! See you all later! Bye for now!~Taker's Soul Girl
