AN: PLEASE READ THE AN AT THE END OF THE STORY (Important information)

They fought off wave after wave of Grimm. Ruby and Weiss moving fluidly in motion with each other. Despite Ruby's injuries, she was fighting well, her body creating the adrenaline needed to block out the pain she would have been experiencing. They knew that help would be arriving hopefully soon, and so they gave it everything that they had, leaving it all on the line.

"How are you doing Ruby?" Weiss called in between strikes.

Ruby swung Crescent Rose around her, decapitating the head of three Beowolves in the process. "I'm doing fine Weiss. Just gotta keep fighting." Ruby turned into a hurricane with her scythe. She didn't want to let anything through to them, and she was damn sure that nothing would get to Weiss under her watch. She leapt forward, spinning Crescent Rose as she moved and cut another Beowolf in half, before her momentum allowed her to block the strike of another.

The waves of Grimm seemed to never end, and Weiss could only wonder why it was taking so long for help to arrive. She could only imagine that they were far enough into the forest, where they would have to travel a great distance just to find them. Weiss hoped it would be soon though, knowing that after long enough, the Grimm would overpower the two of them. They may be strong and resilient, but with Ruby injured, and Weiss exhausted from having to take care of Ruby the night before, their level of energy was bound to dwindle as the fight went on.

Weiss could already feel herself start to tire out, she had to expel a lot of energy with the continued use of her glyphs. The stream of Grimm that came charging towards them, seemed to never end. Weiss barely had time to dodge a claw that came mere inches from cutting her head off. She stumbled down to the ground and fell flat on her back. Her eyes went wide, her life flashing before her eyes. Weiss was close to the end, one final strike from a Beowolf would finish it.

The strike that Weiss expected to finish her never came, instead she heard the sound of Ruby's Crescent Rose cut the Beowolves around her down so that Weiss could get back up and fight. Weiss stood up and heard the sounds of more Grimm coming, more Ursai and a King Taijitu. 'Oh this is bad, this is really bad. Where the heck is our pickup?' Weiss thought to herself as she readied Myrtenaster for another round of fighting.

Ruby charged at the Ursai, her blade ready to swing. Once she arrived, she spun her weapon around, cutting off the head of the first Ursa. Mere moments later, another Ursa fell by her hands. Ruby didn't notice the Ursa that slammed into her side, her body breaking under the force of the hit. She felt a bone in her left arm break, and when she hit the ground on the same arm, she felt her shoulder pop out of place. Her left arm was completely useless to her, nothing more than dead weight.

Ruby screamed out in pain, her body not use to the torture it was receiving. She noticed that an Ursa charging towards her as she stood up, bracing herself for the hit from the beast. Instead all she heard was a thud and a crack instead of feeling a jolt of pain. Looking up she saw that Weiss had recklessly slammed her body into the Ursa, and she started to hold her right arm, her face showing signs of pain. Ruby didn't know what the damage was to Weiss, but she could tell that it wasn't good. Despite the pain she looked to be in though, Weiss was still fighting off the Grimm, her left arm wielding Myrtenaster with a fiery passion, and her barely usable right arm doing what it could to create glyphs to help Weiss fight.

Ruby switched Crescent Rose to it's Sniper form, and did what she could with one arm holding the gun. She started to use the gun's recoil to help her move quickly over to the next target, without her having to lift the heavy rifle and aim it one handed. Despite the injuries they received, the two of them were still fighting strong and holding back the Grimm, giving everything they had and leaving nothing to chance. The bodies of the dead were starting to pile up, and Weiss could hear the air ship nearing them.

Ruby heard it too, and she stopped firing for a small second, to look up in the distance. The next shot she took was towards the ground, and instead of firing at the Grimm, it instead launched her backwards into the air. Ruby arched over the fields towards a bed of rocks, her descent sure to be a painful one. She braced herself as best as she could, but she landed to fast and too hard to soften the blow any. Her hip cracked as well as her ribs, and she couldn't stand anymore. A Beowolf came towards her, separating itself from the pack.

Weiss saw the danger that Ruby was in and she thought quickly. She created an ice wall between herself and Ruby, and then used her glyphs to propel her towards her partner. She didn't know how fast she was going and she tried to stop too quickly, putting all the pressure on her leg and snapping her shin. The broken bone tore through her flesh and protruded itself through Weiss' leg. Weiss fell down onto her knee right in front of Ruby. The Beowolf that was coming towards Ruby did not stop, and it leapt through the air towards the two of them. "Weiss look out!" Ruby shouted, as best she could, hoping that Weiss would move out of the way. But her warning fell on deaf ears.

Ruby didn't look, hearing the sounds of things she hoped weren't true. Once she opened up her eyes again, she saw what she feared, the end of a Beowolf's claw having punctured through Weiss' chest, near the lower half of her ribcage. Ruby's face looked on with horror, Weiss unable to speak, scream, do anything because of the pain she was in. Her mind couldn't process it all, and she knelt there, wide eyed, her mouth agape with small breaths coming from it. Ruby couldn't move, couldn't do anything, her body wouldn't respond, despite her mind's protests.

The Beowolf tossed Weiss to the side like a rag doll. "Weiss!" Ruby shouted as loud as she could. Before Weiss even hit the ground, the King Taijitu that showed up slammed into Weiss, carrying her body on it's mouth and slamming her with full force into a tree. Ruby could hear the sounds of bones shattering under the pressure they just went through. Even if they did survive, it would be an extremely long time before Weiss would be fully recovered. Ruby wanted to just rush over to her, to just hold her tightly and take her pain away. But her body wouldn't let her. "Weiss? Come on Weiss get up. Please, don't do this to me Weiss." She pleaded, the Beowolf standing over her ready to strike the last thing on her mind.

She suddenly heard the roar of the Beowolf before her, and she was turned to face it. It's claws were raised and it looked ready to strike. Ruby felt the wind whipping around her, and she could barely keep her eyes open. She barely was able to see the Beowolf before her get shot and killed by someone. Looking around, she saw that Blake and Yang had arrived, with one of the first year teams. Once the Beowolf was down, Yang ran over to Ruby's side and checked on her. "Ruby! Please say something to me Ruby." Yang's eyes were red and her normally violet irises were now blood red. She wanted to kill all the Grimm standing before her, and would have too if she wasn't standing over Ruby.

"Weiss, she..." Ruby couldn't say anything else, her mind snapping and breaking down. She burst into tears as she looked over at Weiss' broken body, unmoving while it was being protected by Blake and what she thought she saw was some of the first year students.

"I promise we'll get her out of here. Ozpin didn't have anyone else to spare besides first year students, those guys being Team CRSN and someone from Team BNSH who is here as a medic." Yang was trying to keep calm as best she could. She turned to one of the students. "Javik, we need to leave now! Get Weiss and bring her onto the ship as quickly as you can." She shouted to the man.

"Got it." Javik, the leader of Team CRSN responded, before turning to his teammates. "Nikolai, bring down a lightning storm on anyone who comes towards us. Me and Itidal will be getting Weiss onto the ship. Theron give us some cover as well." Everyone nodded and Team CRSN jumped into action. They did everything they could to bring Weiss on board, and once Yang got Ruby on the ship she went back to help take the Grimm down.

Ruby sat on the airship with the medic that came with them, waiting eagerly for Weiss to get onto the ship. Ruby turned to the girl. "When Weiss get's on board, you keep her alive. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine." Ruby said, her own body starting to run out of energy. She knew that she was going to pass out soon, and she wanted to do everything she could to keep Weiss alive, even if it brought her own health down. When she saw that Weiss was on board, she heard the roar of the engines take flight, and she felt the ship fly away.

Ruby looked over to Weiss, noticing the medic, which she learned was named Hayla, was doing everything that she could to keep Weiss alive. Her own world was fading to black as she was falling unconscious. "...need to move faster...on't know how lo...essure right on the wo...eep the blood fro...en she won't make it ba..."

Ruby fell unconscious, her hand reaching out as far as it could for Weiss.

AN: So this chapter was a lot harder to write than I originally thought it would be, hence the reason it's a day late. As I said in my note for the latest chapter of G.T.R., I had a really bad case of writers block/poor motivation, which as you can imagine didn't help this story any. Add in the context of this chapter, and you got yourself a really hard chapter to write.

If this chapter is a bit unnerving, then I get why, because I had to write it out, and that wasn't fun to do. I can tell you now that the blood is over for quite some time, with the chapters after this mostly dealing with the aftermath for a little bit, before it moves onto the next topic, which I can assure you, will be a nice fluffy and cute one. That much I can promise you.

Aside from that, the OCs in this chapter are from my story Tales from Beacon, which is a branch story of this one. I can promise you that the OCs won't be around much, and when they are, it's mostly for one or two chapters at a time. I don't plan on including OC characters often, this story being a focus on Weiss and Ruby's love that I created for the purpose of this story. However, if you find the characters to be interesting, then you should go check out that story for more details on them.

Aside from that, thank you guys for reading this chapter. I know it's not what most people would expect, however I will say that it goes up from here in the mood department. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
