One Year Later

You rolled over sleepily. It was waaaaaay to early! You glance at the clock.

Okay, correction: It was three in the afternoon.

But in your defense, you had been up all night at a Tony Stark party.

A Tony Stark Party.

...Nuff said.

The party was to celebrate some new invention, you didn't really know and you didn't really care. It gave you a reason to drink, which ever since that night with Loki was your main resource.

You sat up. Yup, you were hungover. You attempt to stand up and nearly step on Natasha. She must've crashed in your apartment last night, you couldn't remember.

You yawn as you carefully step around her and head into the kitchen. You were craving some pancakes. Thank the fricken lord you remembered to close the shades before you went out last night you would have been blinded by the sun in your living room.

You whip up some pancake mix and then somehow cook some pancakes. You hear the noise of the shower, so you know Tash is now awake.

You hum some unknown tune while you plate the pancakes.

Tash enters the room wearing one of your tee shirts and a pair of your shorts.

"I borrowed these." She tells you as she sits on the couch.

"I don't care." You tell her handing her a plate of pancakes.

"Chocolate chips?" She asks.

"What do you think?" You reply.

"You know, this is why I love you." She bites into a pancake.

"Yeah, yeah."You flip on the tv.

"Oh hey, it's you!" You point to the screen.

"Oh God..." Natasha rolls her eyes as a video of her plays.

"Why are they still showing recaps, this was like two years ago!" She exclaims.

"I bet Hawk's upstairs watching." You tease.

"Oh shut up." She rolls her eyes again.

"What is with you two? Either you're here or in his room. You know what everyone is going to think?"

"That we are lesbians?" Natasha says sarcastically.

You laugh.

"Only Tony would think that."

"True."

"Seriously Tash, what's going on?" You ask seriously.

"We are...friends." She says.

"Yeah, friends with benefits!" You tease.

"It's not like that...when we are together...like together, it is like we are comforting one another...like we have a better understanding of each other when we are that close."

You are silent for a second.

"Ugh, I hate you." You lay down with your head in her lap.

"Why?" She laughs.

"I wish I was close like that with someone!"

"We are close." She tells you.

"Yeah, but not that close."

Natasha laughs and you join in.

Then she's quiet for a second.

"That night you spent with Loki, did he hurt you?" She asks.

You sigh. You told her about it because you needed to talk to someone and Natasha was the only person you felt close to. Yes, you were friends with the other Avengers, but Natasha was the only girl...and that had a lot to do with why you had both become close. She was there for you when Loki left. She listened to you complain about Loki, and didn't interrupt even though he had tried to kill her in the past.

"No, I mean he wasn't gentle...not like he had been on the roof top when I kissed him. But, I don't think he would have hurt me." You tell her.

She sighs.

"Just, be careful."

"It doesn't matter...he's been gone for a year. He is not coming back. I am ready to move on."

"Well in that case...I hear Steve is single." She teases.

"Oh no! You are not trying to set me up with Steve again!" You exclaim with a laugh.

Natasha laughs.

"He needs somebody too! Come on!"

"He's not my type." You reply.

Natasha rolls her eyes.

"Whatever you say."

After Natasha left your apartment you hopped into the shower and then headed straight to your bed to take a nap.

You sleep the rest of the day and wake up then next day early in the morning to the feeling of someone shaking you.

"Tash, I swear if this is another prank attempt from you and Hawk..." You open your eyes and nearly scream.

Loki is standing at your bedside. He has dark circles under his green eyes. His hair is out of place and he wears simple leather pants and a white shirt.

"Loki!" You shout loudly.

"Shhh." Loki holds a finger to his lips.

"What the hell are you doing here?" You exclaim loudly.

"Hush, you must be quiet!" He whispers loudly.

"What the hell are you doing here?" You repeat in a whisper.

"You have to come with me." He tells you.

"What? No, no I don't!" You say.

"Please...just...you must."

"Uh well I am not going to."

Loki sighs with frustration.

"You are in danger!"

"Sure I am." You rolls your eyes and cross your arms.

"Sigyn...please just come with me and you will be safe."

"Okay first...that is not my name. Second...there is no way in hell I am going with you! So you might as will get out of my room." You lay back down.

Loki sighs.

"Look...the new invention...the one made by Tony Stark...It will destroy this place. It was what was foreseen. You have to come with me or you will get hurt...or die. I cannot, I will not let that happen."

"Okay, woa...woa slow down! You think by telling me this I would leave with you? THESE ARE MY FRIENDS...THIS IS MY HOME!" You don't even care that you are shouting now.

"You are not one of the Avengers." Loki tells you. "You have no business being here."

"I HAVE EVERY BUSINESS IN BEING HERE! I may not be an Avenger, but my loyalty is to them." You glare at Loki.

"Your loyalty? YOUR LOYALTY?" Loki sneers.

You shrink back in fear, scared he is going to strike you. He doesn't. He just starts pacing back and forth in your bedroom. Finally he stops.

"I did not want to have to do this... I wanted you to forget...forget forever...live your life here. I know you are happy, I know you feel like you at last have a family. You must listen, before this...I was your family. I know you do not remember, that is because I made it so. But now...you have to remember. You have to remember!" Loki removes a long gold chain from around his neck. At the end of the chain there is a long glass vile.

"Drink this...and you will remember." Loki says quietly.

You stare at the glass vile and then at Loki. His eyes seem sincere. You turn away from him.

"You left." You tell him quietly.

"I know I left, I am sorry...I am sorry darling. I was scared...please drink this and you will understand."

"I can't...I can't forget you leaving."

"Please, trust me."

You look at him again and suddenly all of the anger that you had felt towards him during the past year comes out.

"YOU FUCKING LEFT ME! YOU CAME INTO MY ROOM AND TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME AND THEN LEFT! THAT IS CRUEL LOKI! CRUEL! ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAD ME BELIEVING...I mean...I thought...I believed you actually cared." You are now sobbing.

"I do care! I love you so much. That is why I am here, because I love you!" Loki reaches out to touch your face.

You turn away.

"I may have loved you...but you left before I could even think about it..."

Loki looks extremely upset.

"Please, please just drink this!" His voice cracks.

You look him in the eye. You sigh and take the glass vile from his hand.

You drink it. The contents taste actually pretty good, like chocolate almost.

All the sudden memories flash before your eyes. You close your eyes and remember.

Loki appearing in your apartment. Loki hiding out in your apartment. Loki dancing with you slowly. Loki being taken away by Thor. You giving birth to Ana. You hearing of Loki's death. You being called to Asgard. You seeing that Loki was alive. You becoming a goddess. Loki being imprisoned. Loki and you fighting. Loki apologizing. You both making up. You loving each other in every way possible. You telling him you are pregnant. You learning you are sick. You learning you are going to die. You giving birth to your babies. Then...blackness.

You open your eyes and Loki is staring at you intently.

"Sigyn?" He asks cautiously.

"Oh Loki!" You throw your arms around him, hugging him tightly.
