"I've never seen a Drell with your color before." Erin said at last.

Kolyat growled due to the break of silence, "You don't say." He grumbled.

Erin had been staring at him intently for the past twenty minutes. They were stuck in the conference room together until Shepard decided to let them out. She was punishing Kolyat.

Just Kolyat…and the young Drell hadn't a clue as to why the human was in there.

"Thane's your dad right?" she questioned him again.

"Yes." He grumbled.

"Do you kick ass like he does?"

Kolyat stared at the woman and raised a brow. "What?"

"You know," Erin sat down and adopted a thoughtful look, "Your dad was a badass. He did that whole disappearing trick in a room full of people according to Shepard. It must have been pretty awesome."

"I didn't know my dad all that well." Kolyat admitted.

"You didn't? Huh, I didn't know my dad too well either." She responded with a hum.

"What's your story?" Kolyat asked, now curious.

"Huh, oh it's simple really. Mom wanted to raise a sophisticated little girly-girl and didn't want my dad to influence me as much as he was. He was a scientist. So they got a divorce and my mom fought tooth, nail, and limb to get the longer visitation rights and eventually won. But then again, it wasn't too long after that that I got a say in who I wanted to spend more time with. It had been six years of mom and I finally got to do something about it and left my mom in the dust." Erin paused to smile ruefully, "I got to spend the next three years with my dad before he had to blast off to some remote location of the galaxy and I had to go back to my mother. So, it only took two more years of her to convince me to join the military." Erin shrugged at last, "And that's basically it. I guess I just felt like I never saw him because my mother was always trying to smother me with proper lady crap."

Kolyat stared at her, "I may not have gotten to see my dad much but at least my mother wasn't like that." He said at last.

"You don't know the half of it…" she shuddered, "I had to wear pantyhose all the damn time. Think, if you had my mom, you'd be wearing tights all the time."

"Drell don't wear tights like humans do. Our scales would cut the material." Kolyat corrected.

Erin got a funny look on her face before giving him an ominous grin, "Oh my god, you've worn human-male-tights haven't you?" Erin snickered as Kolyat's fringe turned grey with embarrassment, "I'm so filing that for blackmail later."
