I apologize for the wait. I kept putting this off because I just wasn't feeling it, then I got a job and literally have no time for anything. Anyway, I stayed up super late just so I could update. It kind of sucks but I just didn't want to wait any longer so I just wrote whatever I could. I'm not happy at all with how it came out and if I had more time I would actually revise it but I didn't want to stress lol. Anyway I hope you don't mind the quality and enjoy. Next chapter will be part 2 of this then the epilogue.

"Nathan, you're not doing it right. The crib doesn't look steady." Haley instructed with hands on her hips, watching her husband fail miserably at setting up the baby's crib.

"I know what I'm doing." Nathan mumbled, fiddling with the screwdriver.

Typical, Haley thought sarcastically, rolling her eyes. "You should have done this months ago. The baby is going to be here anyday now."

"I know, babe. We've been busy." He excused, still struggling with the wooden leg of the crib. "Dammit," the curse spewed from his lips when the crib leg fell, erasing his work.

Haley sighed, "I knew I should have asked Lucas to build it."

"I can do it." Nathan protested stubbornly.

"Fine, but there's no way I'm letting our child sleep in a crib that could fall. You better make sure it can withstand in a burning building, Nathan."

Nathan smiled softly, placing his tools on the ground before walking over to Haley. "I promise the crib will be safe. I'd never let anything happen to our baby, or you for that matter. I'm always going to protect you. Always and forever." He smirked, "And besides, we're never going to be those parents who let their kids sleep with them. I need my Haley time with no interruptions."

"You say that now." She laughed through her salty tears which prickled behind her eyes. Damn hormones. She had been so emotional lately, and was so fortunate that Nathan somehow put up with her.

"I love you so much." She whispered against his lips. "I know I've been crazy lately and I'm sorry. I just want everything to be perfect."

"It is perfect. We're perfect. Our baby is going to be perfect." He smirked, placing his hands on her very swollen baby. "I love you."

They shared a soft kiss, only for the moment to be broken when Haley felt a sharp pain stab her in the back. Nathan watched as her face scrunched in agony. "Shit." She cursed.

"Are you all right? What's wrong?" He asked with concern.

Haley gnawed at her lower lip, "Nothing, I'm sure it's fine. I've had backaches the past few days. I think it's just braxton hicks contractions."

"WHAT?" Nathan's heart flipped in his stomach, "Contractions? We have to get you to the hospital!"
Haley giggled through the pain at her husband's overtly concern. "There's nothing to worry about until my water breaks. Braxton hicks are just false labor pains. Completely normal."

Nathan lead Haley over to the dark wooden rocking chair, aiding her to sit. "I don't know Hales, I think I should call Doctor Halter…"

Haley shook her head, "No, not unless the contractions are less than seven minutes apart. I'm not in labor. Just relax." She coached Nathan as well as herself when another sharp pain pulsed through her lower abdomen.

"Are you sure?" Nathan panicked. "God, I don't think I'm ready for this." Haley watched his face drain its natural colour as he began to pace around the nursery. "The room isn't even finished! I don't know how the hell to change a diaper or even be a Dad!"

"Nathan." Haley coaxed over his panic, "You're going to be an amazing Daddy, and everything will be all right."

He stopped pacing and inhaled a shaky breath, "You're right. I'm sorry, I guess I'm just excited."

Haley blew out a shaky breath, "Me too." She stayed seated in the rocking chair watching as Nathan proceeded to build the crib. Her eyes swept the room and smiled contently. It looked amazing, and she couldn't wait to bring their baby home.

At that thought, she felt another contraction rip through her body, this time she couldn't help but groan.

"Nathan." She hissed, "I think it's time."

Nathan, who was in the middle of hammering a nail into the wood, laughed, "Good try, babe. You won't fool me this time. They're just Braxton hicks."

Haley clenched her eyes shut, "Nathan." She mustered every ounce of strength she had and stood up, just as she felt a burst of water pool down her dress. "I'm not kidding. My water just broke."

"Oh God, umm...ok...uh, just, uh… stay right there. I'm gonna get my keys. Where are my keys? Did you pack our hospital bags?" Nathan panicked again.

Haley placed her hand on her painful pregnant stomach. "Nathan, please. I need to get to the hospital, like right now."

He looked as though he was a chicken running without its head. "Right okay, sorry." Rushing over to her, he grabbed her hand and helped her walk downstairs. He then grabbed their hospital bags, among a few other things, when he got back to the living room to find his wife nearly doubling over in pain.

"I just need to find my keys…"

"They're… on…owww…. the counter." Haley breathed. "Please hurry!"

Grabbing the keys from the counter, Nathan sprinted over to Haley and helped her to the car. "Just breathe, baby. I'll get you there as soon as possible." He coached.

Fifteen minutes later, after two near car accidents, Nathan cursing, and Haley screaming, the couple finally made it to Tree Hill Hospital.

Once again, Nathan lead Haley inside where he made it over to the receptionist. "My wife is in labor!" He screamed, sweat pouring down his forehead, as Haley stood next to him breathing heavily.

"Okay," The receptionist waved aloofly. "I'll get a nurse to prep your wife. Who's your doctor?"

"Dr. Hector. He's supposed to be on call 24/7, where is he?"

"Sir, please try to relax." She continued in a calm matter, "A nurse will page Dr. Hector promptly. In the mean time, I need you and your wife's name please."

"Nathan and Haley Scott." He smiled despite his frantic feelings. He'd never get tired of saying Haley's name combined with his. They were a lifelong item. You can't get one without the other.

"Nathan…" Haley groaned weakly, doubling over in pain. "It hurts so much."

Nathan's blue eyes broke with concern as he placed a comforting hand on her cheek, "It's going to be okay, baby. I promise. Our baby will be here soon. We've waited so long for this. I love you so much."

A weak smile spread over her lips, "I love you too."

Seconds later, a team of nurses rushed over to Haley and helped her into a wheelchair. "We have to check how dilated you are."

Haley immediately grasped hold onto Nathan's hand, only for the contact to be broken seconds later.

"I'm coming." Nathan demanded, chasing after the nurses who were wheeling Haley into a room.

"I'm sorry sir, you have to wait out here-"

"Are you fu-"
"Nathan!" Haley seethed, "Why don't you call everyone and tell them." She suggested.

"Mr. Scott, I will come and get you as soon as you're allowed in the room. It won't be long, we just have to run standard tests then you can stay with your wife for the entire labor." An elderly nurse attempted to calm him down.

"Okay." Nathan relented, kissing Haley one more time. "I'll be there as soon as I can."

"I know." Haley giggled. "I love you."

Nathan repeated the three words he'd never get sick of saying, then watched as Haley disappeared into a room. He soon pulled out his cell phone and decided to call his mom first. She picked up after two rings.

"Hi Nathan."

"Mom, Haley's in labor." He spoke excitedly, too eager to greet her formally.

"Oh my God! Are you serious?"

"Yes, we're at the hospital now. She's being prepped for labor soon."

Deb screamed shrilly, "My babies are having a baby! Oh honey, this is so exciting! I'll be there as soon as I can."

"Okay, by-"

The line went dead before Nathan could say goodbye, but soon called Lydia and Jimmy who picked up immediately.

"Nathan? Is everything okay, son?" Lydia asked.

"Yeah everything's great. Haley's having the baby." He repeated, even more excited.

"Oh my God. Oh my God. Jimmy! Haley's having the baby! Get your ass out of bed right now! We have to go to the hospital." Nathan heard Lydia scream frantically. "Nathan? We'll be right there. Tell Haley to clamp her knees shut. She's not allowed to give birth until we're there."

Nathan couldn't help but chuckle, "Okay, Mrs. James. We'll see you soon."

"Nathan, you're married to my daughter and you're about to give us a naley grandbaby. I told you to call me Mom now." She lectured goodnaturedly.

"Okay, mom. See you soon." He smiled and hung up, then made a few more calls before the nurse came back to tell him that he was allowed to go into the room. He rushed into the room where he found Haley in the midst of screaming through a contraction.

"She's only 6 centimeters. Dr. Hector is on his way, but it'll probably be at least another two hours before she's ready to give birth." A nurse explained while Nathan peppered kisses on Haley's sweaty face.

"Are you okay?"

Haley narrowed her eyes, "We're never having sex again, Nathan Scott."

He frowned. He heard labor was excruciating but he couldn't even imagine how bad it must be. "I'm sorry baby." Nathan whispered, "But when our baby gets here, this will all be worth it."

A slow tear escaped the corner of her eye. "You're right, I'm sorry." She smiled slowly. "Did you call everyone?"

Nathan grinned eagerly, "Yep. They're all on their way. My mom started screaming and your mom told me to tell you that you can't give birth until she gets here. Something about clamping your knees together."

Haley laughed through her pain, "Yeah, that sounds like my mom."

Nathan took a seat beside her and gently ran his hand over her soft cheek. "How are you feeling?"

"Besides pain, I'm really excited." She looked at Nathan as if he was the sun in a tunnel of darkness. "I waited my whole life for this."

Nathan chuckled, "I know the feeling. In just a few hours a little piece of both of us will be in the world."

Haley intertwined their fingers together, "Thank you for being here."

"There's no place I'd rather be. You know I'll always be here by your side. Especially today. There's no way I would have missed this. Not for the world."

The couple shared a short yet passionate kiss, which was soon interrupted when doctor Hector walked into the room.

"Sorry to interrupt." He apologized with an embarrassed smile, "How are we feeling today, Haley?"

She blew out a deep breath, forcing a smile, "I'm good. Ready to meet our baby."

The elderly man smiled before checking her chart, "Okay well everything looks great. Full term pregnancy, and a strong heartbeat. I'm just going to double check a few things, and we'll see if you've dilated anymore."

Nathan watched proudly as the doctor ran a few more tests. "Hey, um, do you think that maybe I can cut the umbilical cord?" He asked with a nervous grin.

"Of course you can." Doctor Hector beamed. "I'll teach you how to do it when the baby gets here."

Haley watched as a proud smile spread over her husband's lips. The only time she had ever seen him this excited was on their wedding day and when he found out the gender of the baby.

"What're you thinking about?" Nathan asked softly.

"The day we found out about the gender."

"Okay, Mr. and Mrs. Scott are you ready to find out the sex of your baby today?" Doctor Hector asked as he lead the couple into a private room.

Nathan squeezed Haley's hand as they shared wide smiles. "Yes! Nathan wants a girl." She shared.

"Hey, I'll be fine with a daughter or a son. Either way, we won't stop trying until we get at least one of each."

"Oh Gosh." Haley giggled, "I heard Scott's are only able to produce sons."

"Don't worry baby, I'll make it happen. We'll have a little girl just like you."

"And a son who can take after his Daddy." Haley urged.

Doctor Hector laughed as he helped Haley onto the chair. "If the baby is in the right position we can see. Ah, okay here we are." He pointed to the 3D screen where Nathan and Haley watched with anticipation. "If you look right here-" He pointed, "You can clearly see a males anatomy. Congratulations, it's a boy!"

"A boy? Oh my God, Hales! We're having a son! It's a boy! I'm gonna have a son!" He shouted excitedly, unable to stop the happy tears from rolling down his cheeks.

Haley felt her cheeks hurt from smiling so widely, as she too, cried tears of joy. "A son with your eyes." She repeated dreamily. "I knew it'd be a boy."

"I'm so happy, baby. We're having a boy! I love you so much." Nathan leaned down and kissed Haley passionately.

"The Scott conspiracy must be true." Haley joked.

"I'll say. He's already taking after me. Look at his twig and berries!"

"Nathan!" Haley chided.

"Uh, Mr. Scott, that's your sons arm." He then pointed to the screen, "Now this is where the gametes are."

Nathan flushed with embarrassment, "Oh, uh, yeah, I knew that."

Nathan groaned at the memory, "That was so embarrassing."

"It happens more than you know." Doctor Hector reminded him. "So, are you ready to meet your son?"

"Yes, definitely." Nathan spoke for Haley who was currently screaming in pain through a current contraction which were now more prominent and intense.

"You're nearly dilated, Haley. We're going to start preparing you for labor. This little guy is eager to come out."

Nathan pressed a kiss on Haley's forehead, wiping away her sweat. "You're doing so good baby, just breathe."

Minutes later, Haley's bed was being rushed into the delivery room, with Nathan behind her every step of the way. In the corner of his eyes he could see all of their friends and family waiting patiently.

"Nathan! How is she?" Deb asked, running over to her son.

"She's doing great." He hugged her quickly, "The nurses are preping her now. It should be soon."

"Go be with your girl." She beamed.

Nathan grinned contently, "I'll tell her you guys are all here. Thanks for coming. We're really excited."

"So are we." Deb gushed. "Lydia and Jimmy just went to get coffee. I'll tell them the news."

"Okay thanks. I love you Mom."

Deb threw her arms around her son again, "I love you too, Nathan. You've come a long way and I am so proud of you son. You're going to be an amazing father, and Haley and the baby are so lucky to have you."

Nathan faught back tears, "Thanks Mom. I'll see you soon."

"Good luck!" She called after him, but he hardly heard her over the screams coming from his wife. He soon rushed to her side and took hold of her hand. "Everyone's here, rooting for 're so excited."

Haley mustered a smile, squeezing Nathan's hand harder. "Me too."

"Okay Haley, I need you to push." Doctor Hector encouraged.

"You can do it, Hales. I know you can." Nathan coached. "Keep breathing baby."

Haley sucked in a deep breath why clenching her muscles together and pushing, "Nathan…" She wheezed. "It hurts."

"I know, Hales, I know, but you're doing so great. You're so strong."

He continued to encourage her while she squeezed his hand and pushed.

"The head is crowning." The doctor announced. "You're almost there, Haley. Don't give up. I need one more big push."

"You can do it. You're doing so good, baby. We're gonna meet our son. Come on baby."

Haley clenched her eyes as she screamed, continuing to push the baby from her cervix. Nathan ignored the own pain in his hand and watched with delight as the doctors helped deliver their son. "Just breathe, you're almost there."

Haley opened her eyes slightly and watched the adoration sprinkle over Nathan's face. With one last push, the room echoed with screams and the sound of a baby wailing.

"Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Scott, it's a beautiful baby boy." Doctor Hector announced proudly.

"You did it! I'm so proud of you Hales." Nathan immediately bursted with glee and kissed her sensually.

"We did it." She cried. "We have a son!"

"We have a son." He echoed, mirroring her glowing grin.

Once the nurses cleaned the baby, they soon handed him to Haley.

"Oh Nathan, he's beautiful." She snuggled the child close to her heart and pressed a kiss on the delicate skin. "He looks just like you."

Nathan placed his hand on top of Haley's and felt his heart burst with pride. "You're my entire world." He whispered.

"Welcome to the world James Lucas Scott." Haley announced with tears strolling down her cheeks.

"Jamie." Nathan whispered.

Haley looked up with wide eyes.

"I remember you were reading some book in fifth grade and the boy's name was Jamie. You told me that if you ever had a son you'd name him James, or Jamie for short." Nathan recalled with a grin.

"I can't believe you remembered that." Haley said in awe.

"I remember everything about you Haley James Scott."

"Is that why you suggested we name him James? I totally forgot about that name."

"Well yeah but also because your last name was James so I wanted to incorporate that. After all, he's a part of both of us. A James and Scott."

"I love you." Haley whispered. "You never fail to amaze me."

"I love you too, baby. Always and Forever." He looked at his son and smiled. "hear that James? Daddy's gonna love you and Mommy always and forever."

Haley gently handed the baby to her husband. "That's you Daddy." She cooed. "You're so lucky to have him. He loves you so much."

"I can't believe we made him." Nathan spoke in pure awe as his blue eyes drowned in Jamie's mirroring orbs. "I'm a Dad!"

"You're a Dad." Haley confirmed with a giddy giggle. "You're going to be the best Daddy."

Jamie snuggled into Nathan's embrace and Haley felt her heart melt into a puddle. There was something unbelievably sexy about seeing the man you love holding a child. There was nothing in the world more precious than that.

The moment was soon interrupted when Lydia, Deb, and Jimmy barged through the door. "I can't believe you didn't tell us the baby was born!" Lydia shouted. "I had to hear it from a nurse!"

"Let me see, I can't wait!" Deb goaded.

"I'm fine mom, how are you?" Haley joked sarcastically.

"I know you're fine. Now let me see the Naley baby." She squealed.

"His name is James. James Lucas Scott." Nathan boasted with a proud smirk. "This is our son."

"A boy! Oh my God! A boy! I have a grandson!" Lydia immediately collapsed in a fit of hysterics when Nathan handed her their son. "Oh Haley, Nathan. He's absolutely beautiful.'

"I know." Haley smiled. "I just love him so much."

"Hi James. I'm your Grandma Lydia." The quirky blonde cooed. "We're going to have so much fun! I'm going to babysit you when your Mommy and Daddy want to try and make you brothers and sisters-"

"Mom!" Haley chastised. "He's only five minutes old and you're already talking about that?"

"Hey it's bound to happen sooner or later. I won't be surprised if he walks in on you two doing the deed."

"Let me see!" Deb whined impatiently. "I knew it was a boy! You owe me fifty bucks Lydia!"

Lydia laughed as she handed the baby to her life long friend. "Damn those Scott genes."

Nathan's smirk grew. "The genes look pretty great if you ask me. He's got the Scott smirk and blue eyes."

"All he needs is dark hair and he'd look just like you." Deb gushed. "Really, he's absolutely beautiful."

"Thank God he doesn't have my nose." Nathan chuckled. "Let's hope he also inherited my athletic ability and Haley's brains."

"He's perfect, baby." Haley gushed, "I wouldn't change anything."

"He is perfect." Nathan agreed.

Deb coddled the baby close in her arms, "Hi James. I'm Grandma Deb and I'm going to spoil the heck out of you! I'll give you a lot of candy and even let you watch Gossip Girl if you want."

"No way Mom. My son isn't allowed to be subjected to that." Nathan muttered.

"Really, congratulations you guys. We've all been waiting a while for this day." Jimmy beamed. "He's beautiful, and I'm so proud of you both. I know you're going to be amazing parents."

"Thanks Dad." Haley smiled. "Thank you all for being here. It really means a lot to us."

Jaime began to gurgle, so Deb handed him back to Nathan who then retreated next to Haley. "You miss Mommy already, buddy?" He joked. "I don't like being away from her either."

Haley and Nathan shared giddy smiles as they reveled in the presence of the bouncing baby.

"Oh this is so precious!" Lydia gushed, "Let me take a picture to add to the growing family album."

For once, the couple didn't groan. In fact, they were eager to snap pictures of their blessing.

"We did it." Nathan whispered.

Haley smiled as she looked into his eyes, holding a now sleeping Jamie. "Thank you for making all my dreams come true."

And of course Lydia captured the moment with a picture.

Next chapter is the last chapter, then the epilogue. I'll try to get it up ASAP.

Thanks for all the support. Seriously.

If you don't mind another crappy written chapter it'll be up soon but if I decide to actually put effort in, the wait will be longer. See you soon!
