Nishiyo's eyes trailed toward her eldest nephew and a smile graced her heart-shaped pale face,"Sesshoumaru, what a pleasant surprise. It has been a few months since you have come to clan, yet you've brought Inuyasha to retrieve his miko. That warms my heart."
"Nishiyo-oba-sama,"Sesshoumaru had said.
"I've noticed a change in you Sesshoumaru." Nishiyo raised her eyes and they glittered in content. "I am happy to say that it is for the best, yes?"
The daiyōkai gave the older demoness a curt nod,"Well, I was aware of your current duty in figuring out why the panther demon tribe location had disappeared. I didn't think you'd ask Inuyasha for assistance, yet here you are, both traveling like Rikuto and Tōga had once."
Inuyasha pulled Kagome tighter to him when a familiar scent neared the grand doors-broken and tossed aside, most likely from the kaze no kizu Inuyasha had unleashed in order to go in.
In entered Daiki, battered and bruised, with claw marks on his neck. Nishiyo turned her attention to the dog demon who stood before her, but her guards had pushed him forcefully on the marble floor.
"Nishiyo-sama…I was brought here to reveal why I was sent to bring the…miko here to the clan."
Nishiyo stepped a foot toward the dog demon who had his head down, his eyes glued to the floor and she frowned. "Look at me while you speak, please. It is rude to not look at one in the eye when speaking."
Daiki slowly raised his head and his eyes shot to see Inuyasha holding his miko close to his side. "M-Milady wanted me to bring the miko here because she wanted to test the half demon's power."
"Inuyasha's powers?" Nishiyo had questioned, slightly confused over the situation at hand. Daiki scowled and shook his head,"The boy's power, his son's power."
Inuyasha growled as he heard the following words and Kagome wanted to shake the information from the dog demon. Nishiyo had sensed their turmoil, her eyes narrowing down at Daiki,"Why is that so?"
Daiki drew in a quick breath, his hearing catching the half demon's rumble."Nishiyo-sama, you know, the clan knows…the boy is too powerful and is a half-breed which can end in our death. It has powers that are not known."
"You bastard, how dare you call my son-" Nishiyo raised a hand to stop her half-demon nephew from speaking any further. "I'll handle it," Nishiyo whispered to him.
Kagome glared angrily from the sidelines, knowing that the dog demoness would take care of what Daiki had done.
Rikuto entered the room, eyes focused on his elder sister, yet gave Sesshoumaru a curt nod. The dog demon stopped and bowed to her before he can deliver the news the miko and half demon.
Nishiyo growled softly,"It would appear that InuKimi-sama is at your village and things do not look good for your pup. Sesshoumaru, take them to the ningen village where they live, you better hurry." Her eyes constricted in deep thought, When I take care of Daiki, I have further discussion with someone who has tampered with my patience.
Knowing not to deny his aunt's request, the daiyōkai bowed his head hastily, glancing at his half-brother and his miko, then swiftly and silently moved to the door. Daiki closed his eyes shut when he heard a low growl come from Nishiyo.

Why would she want to test my powers? Makoto thought in confusion, his nose scrunched when the older woman who looked as graceful as a feather smiled at him.
"Onii-chan," Kisara whispered cautiously, her eyes flicking back and forth toward the demoness then at the soldiers by her side,"You shouldn't fight them, you can't." The young Inu-pup had become very concerned over the fact that it was one against twenty. She knew her brother was strong, yet Kisara knew that he had no choice.
"Be quiet," Makoto snapped at her. Kisara narrowed her eyes at her brother's back, angered that he was not heeding her words.
The young Inu-pup looked at her Uncle Miroku and Aunt Sango, both adults staring at them with concerned looks, mouths ajar in their direction.
InuKimi's eyes trailed to her right, landing on the ningen couple who's features turned from worry to animosity. "Ningen, such weak, fragile creatures, this is no place for you to be."
Sango glared at the woman but in her peripheral vision, she noticed Kisara shooing at her slowly. The demon slayer gasped, but closed her mouth when she felt a certain yōki start to rise in front of the young half demon girl.
Unfortunately, InuKimi had sensed the boy's demonic energy start to rise, and her head snapped in his way. Makoto bared his fangs at the older woman, he didn't want his aunt and uncle involved, nor wanting them to get hurt by the demoness who was clearly threatening them, even if she hasn't threatened them out loud.
"How dare you, you half breed!" One of her guards raised his clawed-hand in the air, charging blindly at the Inu-pup. Makoto directed his attention to the guard, if he were to step anywhere near himself or his sister, he would regret such an action being made.
The dog demon furiously ran head on, however, he did not see the clash of reiki and yōki in the boy's aura. Demonic and spiritual energy gathered in his small body, one that he could hardly contain and growled in sheer agony. Makoto held his head, staggering on his feet, but that only made the angered dog demon charge hastily, seeing an opportunity to take him down.
"Onii-chan," Kisara whispered, but her eyes gazed to see two other demon guards who were ushered by InuKimi. Her brows knitted at how this was unfair play and raised her small hand in the air. Kisara at first felt nothing, but after a few seconds a tingling, electric sensation in her hand.
Makoto focused his powers on the demon who bustled near them. He was growling at the intruder and the demon smirked, only a two foot radius from them, but stopped just a foot away. InuKimi had noticed the boy's eyes flash and the guard charged to them, had exploded into pieces, shocking her and the others around the hanyō pup.
A startled gasp escaped her lips and her shoulders stiffened. I did not see anything touch him, She thought. She had turned her head to the side to motion to another guard, seeing him shiver in fear, but silently told him to step near the Inu-pups.
The dog demon was just around five hundred years old, although to a human's eye, he appeared to be twenty. He took a step forward, his hands visibly shaking in despair, as he didn't want the same fatal end.
Yet the sound of another small growl sounded. InuKimi switched her gaze from the Inu-pup to his sister. There was a yellow-orange glow at the tips of her fingers and when she brought down her small hand, three streaks embedded the ground and her two other guards were no more than dust.
I see that this one has inherited the father's power. InuKimi couldn't tolerate it anymore and she advanced at the two. Makoto flexed his hands, his small claws sharpened as the demoness stopped a foot away, with a displeased look on her face.
"I had enough. The test is finished," InuKimi stated pragmatically, her golden eyes staring at the pups who stood on guard. With that said, InuKimi wrapped her dark blue outer wrap flowed softly in the wind.
Kisara gazed, awe-struck, as she transformed into her true form and flew away. It wasn't after she was only a little bit visible in the sky that her guards also transformed to follow her.
"Onii-" Kisara began to say when a familiar scent crept into her nose and she circled wildly around, searching for something she had missed in such a long time.
"Kisara! Makoto!" Two pairs of dog ears twitched simultaneously at that unmistakable call from their mother and father. Inuyasha had jumped off of Ah-Un, safely holding Kagome in his arms, landing on the ground. He noticed Miroku on the ground, droplets on the monk's forehead, and worry washed over him.
"Haha-ue!" Kisara shouted in glee, tears forming in the corner of her eyes, and was enveloped in the caring arms of her mother. Kagome pulled her little girl close, her chin over the crown of her daughter's head, eyelids closed shut.
Makoto gulped at how his father slowly ambled to him, almost in a daze of some sort. Yet the six year old, at first moved along gradually, then it changed into an all-out run. Inuyasha felt the wind knock out of him when his son collided and held him tightly.
"I missed you Chichi-ue," Inuyasha heard his son whisper into his kariginu. "I missed you too, pup." Inuyasha smelt the area and remembered of what Daiki had said. "Are you hurt?"
"Haha-ue, she wanted to test Onii-chan, I was scared that something would happen," Kisara mumbled as she snuggled into her mother's warmth, but was reminded of the pup in her mother's stomach. Kagome ran her fingers in her daughter's silver hair and her eyes softened.
Inuyasha picked up his son who was fighting from sleep from the exhaustion of releasing his other power. "Haha-ue," Makoto mumbled, his eyelids drooping and head bobbing in a sleep-like state, but he refused to give into his near slumber. His head lifted so that his eyes could lock with his mother's.
"Souta-oji-san said live well and that he, Obaa-chan and Hii-ojiisan love you and-" He let out a small yawn,"-are proud." Kagome's bottom lip quivered as she turned her gaze toward her husband.
Sesshoumaru stared up at the sky, watching the figure of a dog in the sky fade away moments later. His vassal had stood next to him, watching the small family reunite with each other. "Feelings like those I do not understand," Jaken muttered.

InuKimi growled softly as she entered her grand-hall, her face was bound and determined, eyes glued to that of her velvet chair. She was stopped by a familiar voice. "Now do you believe that my Onii-sama's grandson poses no threat? He is just powerful, even if he is a hanyō."
InuKimi let an amused smile cross her face,"You make that word sound like it is a good thing." Her eyes flicked toward Nishiyo who stood by the door when she turned around to face the daiyōkai.
Nishiyo gave her a concise nod in response as her hands were clasped together,"That is because it is. You have always considered that hanyō were such weak creatures, but look at Inuyasha-kun's pups. They even surpass your power, but you are a weak dog demon."
InuKimi growled furiously at her,"You take that back you-" But before she can speak anymore, she was cut off by Nishiyo.
A brow rose in questioning,"And what will you do if I don't, InuKimi?" Nishiyo had questioned then her eyes darkly narrowed at the dog yōkai. "Remember where your place is, you may have been the great Inu no Taisho's former lover, but by no means does that imply you are my equal."
InuKimi gritted her teeth and drew in air from her nose, trying to calm herself down. Nishiyo turned her back to InuKimi, but glanced over her shoulder,"I suggest not to do anything rash, let alone afflict harm on my nephew's pups. I would personally deal with you on my own."
Author's Note
Hello everyone! Seems like you reached the end and it seems as though InuKimi and Nishiyo don't get along too well. What did you think of the chapter?
Thank you to:
Princess Inume - Arigato, I'm glad it was a good chapter :)
Cpsullivan2 - I appreciate your long reviews :D Nishiyo wouldn't have let anything happen to Kagome. As for anyone not telling Inuyasha why he had an aunt and uncle will be explained in the next chapter. Well, as for Sesshoumaru not being too involved, it is because he has a duty in the conflicts over the panther demon tribe in his lands. I hope that helped. Thank you a ton for that great review, I appreciate it :3
tn65loverinuy620jd - I'm glad exams are over for this week, but next week…sigh…I have more. I wanted them to meet Kagome's mother some time in the story :) It might be funny when Inuyasha finds out Makoto had tried ramen :D Thanks!
