This was insane.

"Just give it to him!" Bertolt hissed and his hands began to shake when Reiner simply allowed a nervous smirk to appear on his lips in response, "That girl isn't worth this!"

"You're wrong, Bertolt," Reiner muttered as he tried to push away any hesitations he was having, "She must be worth something if Corporal Clean-Freak is willing to do this much to his own subordinates."

"Hand me the fucking sword," Levi said, slowly drawing his blades, "I won't repeat myself. You have three seconds to comply with my orders," His tone darkened even further, "What will happen next won't be pretty if you don't."

"Stop it, Reiner!" Bertolt widened his eyes when his blond companion looked as though he was going to draw his own weapons, "You can't be serious!?" He stepped closer to Reiner, intending on stopping him with force if he had to, "Think about thi–!?"

"Lance Corporal."

The female voice startled the three, including Levi as he tensed even further at the unexpected interruption. He glanced up, a bit surprised to see two fellow elites of the Survey Corps headed towards them quickly, "Nanaba, Mike," He furrowed his brows, "What are you doing here?" He asked, relaxing slightly though he kept the corner of his eyes fixed on the two disobedient cadets.

Both appeared just as taken back.

"We have new orders," Nanaba glanced between Levi and the duo, but said nothing about what could have just taken place, "A number of soldiers have been called to be stationed in the southern district of Wall Rose. We are gathering them up now."

"Southern district?" Levi frowned even deeper, "By whose call?" It was the first he had heard of such orders.

"Cadets Reiner Braun and Bertolt Hoover, correct?" Nanaba ignored Levi for the moment, throwing him a look when he let out a dissatisfied noise, "You two are among the list of soldiers who have been ordered to head to the southern district. Go to the headquarters and wait there for further instruction."

"Yes, Ma'am!" Bertolt immediately acknowledged as he saluted; Reiner following suit a little more slowly, "Come on, Reiner." He urged, wanting to get out of this situation as soon as possible.

"Before that..." Levi moved before anyone could blink, snatching the sword from Reiner's back sooner than the blond could retaliate, "You heard your orders. Get moving before I change my mind about letting you off so easily, shitheads."

A glimmer of rage briefly appeared on Reiner's face before it turned stoic as he and his tall brunet companion took off and were out of sight within seconds.

"What was that about?" Nanaba asked, staring at the clothed item clutched tightly in Levi's hold, "It looked as if you were about to attack them."

"Never mind that," Levi grumbled, "Was this on Erwin's orders?" He asked, wondering if their Commander was already done with the higher-ups.

"Hange's," Mike answered, "She believes it is more than likely that Annie Leonhart's accomplices are of the former 104th Trainees Squad. They are to be gathered in one place so we can keep a watch for any suspicious behaviour."

"Suspicious behaviour?" Levi's eyes narrowed in the direction Reiner and Bertolt had just left in, "Then there is not much need to go any further. I have no definite absolute proof, but those two have proven to be plenty suspicious."

"You believe Reiner Braun and Bertolt Hoover to be accomplices of Annie Leonhart?" Mike lowered his voice, "What makes you so sure?"

"The bitch has always shown interest in Kagome since she first landed eyes on the brat," Levi stated, glancing down at the sword in his hand, "Reiner Braun is showing the same attitude."

Mike furrowed his brows and Nanaba blinked curiously in response to his words, "Should we focus our background checks on those two then?" The latter elite asked, earning a nod from the Corporal, "It shall be done as quickly as possible."

Levi sighed roughly, feeling a headache coming on and knew he probably needed a drink or two, but pushed it all away as he clenched his fingers around the hilt in his grasp.

At least he had kept his promise.

They were surrounding her.

"I'm sure you don't need to be this concerned," Kagome said, seeing that Eren, Mikasa, Petra, and Oluo had moved to her sides in a subtle, but protective manner, "I doubt anything will happen." She looked down to the simple silver chain necklace she had just purchased using the money Levi had given her to earlier.

"It can't hurt to be too careful," Eren looked around with wary eyes before he was satisfied enough before he also glanced to the necklace, "What exactly do you have in mind for that?"

"It's a bit like a sealing spell," Kagome answered thoughtfully, receiving wide-eyed looks from Petra and Oluo and she remembered that neither had seen her earlier Ofuda, "But it's permanent until I choose to remove it. I need to bless this before it can be of any use though."

"How much power do you need to use for it?" Mikasa asked, "Will it completely drain you?"

"I'm not sure," Kagome's smile disappeared and she sighed, "Hopefully not to the point where I'm useless to you." But she knew that she had no choice to use her own energy this time around or risk it failing like it had earlier.

"Even if you are temporarily out, just know that we will put our lives on line to protect you, Kagome," Petra said in a serious tone and Oluo nodded in agreement, "So there's no need to worry for your safety."

"I appreciate it," The Priestess bowed her heard head earnestly, "I'll need a bit of time before hand to meditate alone, but I should be done with this when morning arrives."

"It's going to take all night!?" Eren blinked, knowing morning was still hours away, "Must be some seal." He mumbled, shaking a bit at the very idea behind it.

The very thought of being controlled so easily was almost terrifying.

'But if it were Kagome,' Eren felt his tanned cheeks heat up against his own will and hoped that no one noticed such an embarrassing thing, 'I don't think I would mind it so much.'
