Chapter 43: Take Me Take Me Outta Here
Storybrooke, Maine
A motorcycle sped past the main square of town, heading for the docks. Kat was quick to go to investigate after she felt two portals open one after the other not long after the town was restored to its normal state. Despite her husband's protests, Kat couldn't just sit by and ignore the bad feeling in her gut that something had happened. She just hoped that there was someone there who could tell her what was going on.
Thankfully, luck seemed to favor her at the moment. There was a small crowd of people Belle at the lead, they were walking away from the docks. She could tell it was Belle by her posture, it was so different from Lacey's.
"Belle!" Kat shouted as she skidded to a stop by the group, lifting her visor to get a better look, "What's going on? I felt two portals opening."
"Kat?" Belle blinked, rather surprised by her sudden appearance, "Greg and Tamara, they took Henry." She paused for a moment, as Kat let out a string of curses. "Rumple and the others went off on Hook's ship to go get him back."
Kat could guess who 'the others' were, most likely Henry's family, but Kat couldn't help but ask, "Those two, they were the ones who tried to destroy the town I take it?" Belle nodded as Kat sighed.
"Rumple, he gave me this cloaking spell, he said that more people like them are coming this way. I need to head to the mines so I can cast it."
Kat nodded before leaning over to grab something from the sidecar. As she sat back up she handed it to Belle, a helmet. "Well then hop in, we'll get there much faster on my bike and something like this is best to do rather quickly."
Belle nodded as she grabbed the helmet, putting it on. She then sat down behind the Halfling and held onto her waist. Once Kat was sure Belle was secure, Kat took off, not really checking to see if the others were following her.

"So…" Jefferson started out, walking around the room.
"So?" Kat asked, curious. She had been in the Enchanted Forest for about a week now. Jefferson had been kind enough to allow her to stay with him.
"I was wondering if you would like to help me out on my jobs from now on." Jefferson stated, "To, you know, earn your keep around here."
"Sure." Kat shrugged, figuring she might as well, "I wouldn't mind."
"Excellent." Jefferson stated. "Tomorrow we head off to the Dark Castle to find out what Rumplestiltskin needs from us."
"What exactly is it that you do anyways?" Kat asked, just realizing she had absolutely no idea what he did.

The two brunettes had entered the mines just as the others appeared, in two separate vehicles. The dwarves were currently leading them to where the diamonds were, grabbing their pickaxes as they did.
"Who exactly does Gold think is coming?" Grumpy questioned.
"He didn't say specifically?" Belle responded.
"Well, let's not panic." Jiminy said, trying to be optimistic, "I mean, for all we know, it's a precaution. Right?"
"Well, he… he did say they're working with the people who tried to destroy the town." Belle added.
"Can we panic now?" Grumpy asked.
"Yeah. Sure. Maybe just a little." The cricket breathed. Panic obviously setting in on him.
"We'll be fine as long as we get this up in time." Belle says as they follow the dwarf deeper into the mines.
"Careful, sister." Grumpy says, noticing the woman not paying attention to where she was going but rather to the scroll Rumple had given her, "Mine are a dangerous place."
"Fairy dust." Belle says, reading it off of the scroll.
"It runs through the walls." Blue stated, "We just need to open up a vein, and that'll carry the magic through the town."
If anyone had been paying close attention, they would have noticed that Kat had purposely placed herself as far from the fairy as she could. It was nothing personal, really, its just that she knew not to really trust or believe fairies. Even with her memories of her time spent in the Enchanted Forest back she still could not understand why anyone would put so much faith in them. They were pests, they could be worse than any monster that she had encountered. She had never encountered a fairy who had one hundred percent good intentions that were just for the sake of good.
"No time for whistlin', boys." Grumpy stated as he slapped a hand on a rock, "Let's get swinging." With that the seven dwarves began swinging their pickaxes at the rock while the other four stood by and watched.
"Halt!" Grumpy shouted once they managed to reach a vein of the fairy dust. The dwarves backed off and Belle move in. She uncapped a vial but stared at the vein uncertainly.
"What's wrong?" Kat asked, approaching Belle.
"I… I've never cast a spell before." Belle admitted before looking between Kat and Blue. "Maybe you should do this."
"No. Mr. Gold entrusted this task to you for a reason." Blue responded, "You just need to believe in yourself."
"Okay." Belle whispered as she emptied the contents of the vial into the vein.
"You might wanna believe a little harder." Grumpy quipped when nothing happened.
WHOOSH!
Suddenly a large beam of pink energy emerged from the opening and went over their heads and out the nearest exit.
"I'd say she believed more than enough." Kat added sarcastically.

The two had just entered a tower of the Dark Castle, as Jefferson had called the place. Standing in the room by what reminded Kat of a chemistry set was a man. The one feature about him that really stuck out to Kat was his gold skin.
"Hmm, what's this?" The man said as they got closer not looking up at them, "A new partner?"
"Yes, this is Kat." Jefferson introduced, "Kat this is Rumplestiltskin, the Dark One."
"I'm sure my reputation preceeds me." Rumplestiltskin adds.
"Can't say if it does." Kat shrugs, causing the magic user to look up at her, "I'm from another land. Only been here about a week."
"Interesting." The Dark One said, tapping a finger on his chin as he spoke before waving his hand around, "Well, that's not important at the moment." In a flash of purple smoke, a small scroll of paper appeared in the man's hand, which he held out towards Jefferson. "These are the items I require. Obtain these and you'll get your usual payment."
"Alright." Jefferson said as he took the scroll. He opened it and took a quick look at the contents before rolling it back up and placing it in his satchel. "Well, you ready?" He asked Kat.
"As ready as I can be." Kat shrugged, not sure what she was to expect.

Jefferson sighed as he got off the phone with his wife. She had just told him everything that she had learned from Belle.
None of this was good.
The portal jumper was worried for his family. They had almost died from that failsafe and if more people like Tamara and Greg showed up in town… Jefferson didn't want to even think about what could happen to his wife and daughter.
With a frown the man walked into his study, ready to do some researching.
It was high time that they left this land. Before anything worse happened to Storybrooke.

The Halfling couldn't help but stare at the world around her in amazement. They had just landed in another land, Jefferson had not yet told her which land it was. This place was very open and very colorful. It felt almost like she had stepped into one of Kyle's drawings.
"Where are we?" Kat asked, still amazed by her surroundings.
"Wonderland." Jefferson responded, though he sounded less than pleasant.
"Seriously?!" The woman exclaimed, surprised by his response. Sure she had imagined going to Wonderland when she was little, though that dream was discarded after her first adventure in the Underground, she never believed it to be a real place or that she would actually end up going there.
"Seriously." He sighed, scratching the back of his head. "C'mon, we got an eyeball we need to collect."
"Eyeball?" Kat grimaced.
"From a Jabberwock."
"Not a live one I hope."
"Of course it's a live one, the eye needs to be fresh."
"This is gonna take some getting used to." She sighed, following the older male through the area. He seemed to know where they were heading at least.
Sorry this chapter took until Sunday to be posted. I was trying to get the next chapter done before I posted but… my mind decided to ignore OUAT for Sailor Moon after I saw the first episode of the new anime. (Maybe after I finish season 3 I'll start writing/post a Sailor Moon fanfic on here, I already have 4 or so ideas.)
First chapter of season 3 is up! Just as a warning, this'll probably the last chapter to line up with any episodes for a while. Some of you may already be guessing what is going to happen based on what Jefferson is up to, but what happens and what you're guess are probably two different things.
Thank you, kykyxstandler, for the review. You have no idea how much I squealed at you review, I am very honored that you think of me to be on same level as the actual show writers. With the magic haters, I was coming up with ideas from the moment it was show that Greg and Tamara wanted to destroy magic. Its not too far out of line that there could be more people out there with similar ideas but not affiliated with them and/or Pan. I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
Hope everyone enjoyed this chapter. As usual, reviews are greatly appreciated!
