Im soooooooo sorry for the late update! I have so much on at the moment and I literally have had NO time :/ I hope you enjoy this though!
"ALAN! Oh my gosh!" Scott made a beeline straight for the teen and ran directly into him, enveloping the blonde in his arms and lifting his off the floor as he went. "Are you okay? Are you hurt? What happened?"
Alan couldn't speak properly from being pressed so tightly against Scott's chest. "Scott let him breathe! You're just as bad as Virgil!" John laughed as the eldest Tracy sibling let the teenager back on to the ground but continued to hold him close.
"In answer to your questions… I'm fine, no I'm not hurt and I accidentally started a fire but Dad saved me."
"Only because Virgil wouldn't let me save him first!" Shouted Gordon. "
Yeh! And only because John refused to let me get him out of there!" Virgil followed.
"And only because Dad pushed me away from the fire when I was running back in to get Alan." John said a little more calmly.
"Okay!" Scott yelled, "okay… so let me get this straight. Alan started the fire and that's when Dad locked me in the infirmary and ran here; meanwhile John refused to let his younger brothers get hurt and was going to risk his own neck before Dad got there first?"
A chorus of "yes" and "that sounds about right" came after he finished talking and that was when Alan spoke up.
"Most importantly though, despite the protection schemes from every member of this family, it's all over." "
What?" Said everyone.
"Well.. call me stupid but that was a BIG shock and… I don't know, I just saw that events like that are why we stick together as a family, for protection, and splitting it up no longer makes sense."
"what about your nightmares Alan? What about the paranoia and fear of Dad?" Alan glanced over to his father and smiled.
"I think it's all been solved. I saw how much I truly meant to Dad in that fire, I saw the fear in his eyes for once and couldn't remember ever being that scared in a while. Sure the nightmares were terrifying and I was scared for my life, but I haven't been scared for someone else's life like Dad was for mine. And thinking about it, when was my last nightmare?"
No one answered him. Everyone was too busy feeling a massive weight lifted off their shoulders. Gordon had a huge smile on his face, his usual grin that lit up any room. Virgil looked down at the ground, a small curvature of his mouth was seen as he sighed a sigh that meant all the stress was gone. John looked up at the sky like a true astronomer, in spite of the daytime sun, the blonde closed his eyes and put his head up to the heat of the day, letting out a similar sigh to Virgil. Jeff looked at Alan who beamed up at him, and who seemed to be smiling at everyone. It was this little teenager of his that had caused all this, had revealed the rifts in the family's relationships but then had glued them all back together again. The patriarch watched as Alan was hauled into a huge hug by John, followed by Virgil and Gordon. Jeff was suddenly taken off of balance as arms wrapped around him and he felt Scott, his eldest and the son most determined throughout this whole ordeal, hugging him.
Jeff didn't really know how to react to he returned the embrace and made sure he let his son know how much he meant to him.
Call it what you want, this lovey-dovey moment was not what Tracys did, but it was what they most needed. If you stood by the large pool outside the villa, oblivious to the humongous blue Thunderbird beneath you, you would have been able to see a family emerging from the jungle beyond. Not a group of men and a teenager, not people that lived on the same island and not work colleagues. A family. A group of people built not on the grounds that they shared the same last name or that they were in the same bloodline, but built on protection.
The group had its ups and downs, had is arguments and nightmares, but none of them were ever going to leave their family. As the smallest was carried on the elder blondes back laughing, the redhead and the medic raced to get to the pool first and the father and his eldest son had their arms slung over each other's shoulders, each of them thought that they would keep going, keep fighting until all the rifts were closed and they could remain this happy forever.
Hope you enjoyed this! I have a plan for one last chapter! the last one! ahhhh! I cant believe its so almost over *cries* thank you sooooooooooooooo much everyone! xx reviews are loved xx
