Adventures of Babysitting

Kris' POV

Babysitting a toddler is somewhat difficult especially when he's a very smart toddler. However, I have become accustom to watching over my baby cousin. Tommy got a job as a painter while Lydia worked as well. Jane and Maura worked long hours, coming home late and Nonna worked too. The last person was in the long list of babysitters was me. I babysat before but it was not often, because I worked, a majority of the time as well. But I was able to get a day off too. Babysitting for me was fun. But it was also an adventure and then some.

"TJ," I called to the little boy who was sitting on the sofa staring at the television. He looked up, giving me a toothy smile while I shook my head, "That won't work."

"Kwis, please..."

I shook my head again. "Come on, we need to eat dinner then bath time." TJ continued to look at me before I turned back around, walking into the kitchen as I added, "It's dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets."

Suddenly I heard loud footsteps that ran pass me while a small cheer came, "Yay! Juwassic Park!" As he shouted that, I let out a small laugh then started to whistle the theme to the classic dinosaur movie.

R&I

"Where are you buddy," I looked around in my bedroom. After we ate, it was time for TJ's bath time and it seemed that TJ like to hide from me. Suddenly I heard a loud giggle, which caused me to turn and go down the hallway. I pushed the door to my bedroom open to see that TJ invaded my room.

His clothes covered my floor but I glanced over to see that my Red Sox teddy bear that Jane gave me was missing. "Oh where? Oh where has my teddy bear gone," I sang aloud before I heard another giggle coming from my closet. I smirked and approached the door before I stated, "Oh well, I can't find TJ. I might just go downstairs and watch TV." I then stomped loudly before I took a seat at my desk, which was out of the line of sight with the closet.

The door suddenly opened with TJ sticking his head out. He looked around before he stepped out with the teddy bear covering his naked body. He giggled and whispered, "She didn't find us, Pooh."

"Oh TJ." He looked up and immediately his eyes widened as I waved at him. He looked around franticly before he began to run out of the room. I quickly leaped out of my chair and gained chase. I jumped over several toys until I finally grabbed a towel and wrapped TJ in it, lifting him up and over my shoulder.

"Kwis, put me down," he demanded.

I shook my head, "Nope, bath time and I want Pooh back." TJ suddenly stopped kicking, making it able for me to carry him into the bathroom. I placed him down to see that he had a pout on his face with him holding Pooh tightly. "What's wrong," I asked him.

"I don't want a bath."

"You have to or you'll be stinky."

"Nu uh," he shook his head.

Oh, he's definitely a Rizzoli. I crossed my arms then began to twist my medallion until an idea formed in my head. "What if I let you take a bath with Pooh," I asked him.

"He'll get weally wet," he pointed out.

I nodded, "He will but I can use the dryer like Auntie Maura uses her hair dryer."

TJ eyed me, looking down at Pooh. "What do you think, Pooh," he asked before he placed his ear against the snout of the stuff bear. I watched as TJ nodded a couple of times before he looked up, "He said it was okay."

Thank God. "Alright get into the bathtub," I ordered him.

"Weee!"

R&I

"Kwis, is Pooh done dwying," TJ asked as he padded through the living room in his Police pajamas.

"Almost bud," I answered as I stood in front of the dryer. I wanted to laugh at the small bond between the bear and TJ for it was originally my bear. Jane gave it to me when I was released from the hospital after the incident with Adrian. I held it close to my heart and one day, baby TJ saw him and immediately got hold of him.

That was how the whole bond began. TJ always wanted to come over because I had Pooh, which he named after Jane read Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Pooh was basically his companion whenever he was with me.

The dryer finally ringed and I immediately pulled Pooh out. "TJ, Pooh is done," I called out to the little boy. He came running in and immediately grabbed Pooh Bear from me, running toward my bedroom.

I followed TJ up the staircase and into my bedroom to see him under the covers with Pooh next to him. "Kwis, awe you going to wead me a stowy or sing to me," TJ inquired as he snuggled next to the teddy bear.

"It's up to you, bud."

"Sing," he clapped in excitement. I took a seat next to him on the bed while he looked up at me. "Sing the lullaby, Kwis," TJ told me.

I gave a small laugh before I began to sing, "Hush now my baby…"

Jane's POV

"Kris," I called out as Maura and I walked into the house. We looked to see that the lights were still on and glanced on the sofa to see that it was empty. "Where's Kris," I wondered.

"Let's try upstairs," Maura suggested. I nodded and followed Maura as we walked up the staircase. We noticed that the hallway was dark but Kris' bedroom light was glowing. "What are they doing up," Maura questioned. "Kris needed to put TJ to bed or he will never sleep."

"I know." We both approached the room ready to speak until we both stopped at the doorway. The sight before us was the cutest thing I had ever seen and I loved it. TJ was holding Pooh sleeping against a sleeping Kris whose glasses were perched at the edge of her nose. Maura and I both smiled with both of us tiptoeing into the room to tuck them in.

I lifted TJ up a bit, moving him slightly away from Kris while Maura removed Kris' glasses. She placed Kris' glasses on the counter before she grabbed the other side of the blanket with me and tucked them in. I kissed both of their foreheads and whispered goodnight before Maura and I snuck back out to close the door, leaving the sleeping cousins to their dreams.
