Battle City Chapter Three

I don't own Digimon or Yu-Gi-Oh

Chapter Fifty One: Battle City is Born

By the time Hitomi and Yami had arrived at the Museum the sun had set and it was now early in the evening but the museum was still open. "Well here we are," Hitomi said to Yami who nodded his head at her. "So do you still want to go in Yami?" She asked him.

"I do," Yami replied as they both walked towards the museum and they entered it. And they both walked down a hallway and Yami was looking at all the different exhibits.

"This place has to have something at least a bit helpful," Hitomi said as they walked past a door that open slightly. Yami then stopped as he looked at the door and Hitomi looked back to him. "Is something the matter?" She asked him as Yami opened the door to reveal a staircase leading downwards.

"Something is calling to me," He said.

"In the basement of this place are you sure?" Hitomi asked him as she noticed a mark appear on his forehead. "Do you think this is part of the exhibit?" She asked him but Yami didn't answer instead he walked down the steps. "Hey wait a second," Hitomi called to him but Yami didn't listen and she sighed before she followed after him down the steps.

"I feel that the answers that we seek Hitomi are near," Yami said to her as they reached the bottom of the steps and they both saw a massive stone tablet in front of them protected by glass.

"An old tablet," Hitomi said.

"And those markings, look they resemble Duel Monster cards, look the Dark Magician and the Blue Eyes White Dragon," Yami said as Hitomi gasped as she saw one of the carvings.

"Look at the two carvings above them, is that me and the Dark Magician Girl?" She asked Yami who looked at the carvings as well and he too gasped.

"Well she does have your bracelet," Yami answered her.

"And that carving there that looks like you, he has the Millennium puzzle around his neck, what is the meaning of this?" Hitomi asked in shock. "And why am I on the tablet as well?" She asked Yami.

"Your guess is as good as mine, but that carving with the puzzle appears to be me playing an ancient game of duel monsters, this is the exact type of clue that I have been searching for, but I wish I could decipher its meaning, who am I duelling against in this carving, what was this game about, was it even a game at all or something much more serious?" Yami asked before he sighed. "Just when I find a single answer a thousand new questions arise," He said and Hitomi nodded her head back at him.

"My Pharaoh and my lady, I have been expecting you both," A voice called to them as both Hitomi and Yami turned around to see an Egyptian woman with black hair and wearing a dress walk up to them both.

"Who are you?" Yami asked her.

"I am Ishizu, and I have uncovered many secrets about you two and these ancient carvings using the magic of my millennium necklace," the woman now known as Ishizu told them both as they saw a necklace on her neck.

"Another Millennium item," Hitomi said.

"Like your Puzzle and Bracelet this necklace grants me certain powers, with it I have gazed five thousand years into the past to a time when evil sorceress threatened to destroy the entire world," Ishizu told them both and they both gasped in shock. "However there was two people who possessed a power strong enough to stop this ancient threat," She continued.

"And just who were these two people that possessed such power?" Hitomi asked her.

"The Pharaoh and his High Priestess that saved the world, they were you Yami and Hitomi and now the time has come for you both to once again save mankind," Ishizu replied to her.

"Save mankind, from what?" Yami asked her.

"How do you know this evil will destroy the world again?" Hitomi asked her.

"My millennium necklace also grants me visions of things yet to come, the events of the past shall occur once again and that same evil will return to threaten us," She told them both.

"And how will we recognise this threat?" Yami asked her.

"I know that your memory has faded my Pharaoh and that you seek many answers," Ishizu told him and Yami gasped in shock, "And I also know that there is to be a duel monsters tournament to start soon, win it and you will find you answer," She said as she walked off before she stopped. "When you return home there will be an invitation to the tournament waiting for you both, take care Yami and Hitomi," She said before she walked away from them both.

"Okay now that was just weird," Hitomi said as Yami looked back at the carving. "So you were a ancient Pharaoh and I was a High Priestess, and we saved the world together, why does this stuff always happen to us?" She asked.

"Do not worry Hitomi, if we saved the world before we will do it again, and this other carving looks very familiar," Yami said before he gasped. "No way it can't be, it's Kaiba!" He exclaimed in shock.

"Whoa you're right, does this mean that one of us has to defeat Kaiba to save the world, good I have been wanting a rematch, so one of us has to win this tournament," Hitomi said to Yami who nodded his head at her.

"Indeed so should we head home, I believe it has gotten late," Yami said and Hitomi nodded her head as they both left the museum and they headed towards Daisuke's home. "Did you enjoy today Hitomi?" Yami asked her and she nodded her head to him and she smiled and Yami did the same.

"I did actually, I was nice to let loose for once," Hitomi said as they both smiled at one another. "So what do you think about Ishizu and what she said?" Hitomi asked Yami who stopped walking.

"I don't know if everything that she said is true, but I know this one thing, and that is we must both enter this tournament if we are to fulfil our destinies," Yami said to her.

"Okay, but let's be careful still, that guy that came after your puzzle is still out there and what is to say that he won't try again?" Hitomi asked Yami who looked at her before he took out his deck.

"You must trust me Hitomi my deck has never let me down before, as long as Yugi and I stay connected to one another I am confident that we can win this tournament uncover my ancient past and fulfil our destiny," Yami said as Yugi appeared beside him and he nodded at him. "The same goes for you and your deck, has it ever let you down before?" Yami asked her.

"No it hasn't, you're right Yami as long as me and Dai work together we won't lose," Hitomi said taking out her deck as well. It was then that they both heard an evil laugh and they both looked around to see where it came from but they didn't.

"What was that all about?" Hitomi asked him quietly and Yami shrugged his shoulders at her.

"Hey Yugi, Dai there you are," A voice called to them and they looked over to see Mai running up to them.

"It's Mai Valentine," Yami said.

"Oh joy," Hitomi groaned.

"I know you both missed me," Mai said.

"It is such a shame we don't hang out more often isn't it?" Hitomi asked her.

"Sure is, say you're looking snazzy Daisuke is this a date between you and Yugi?" Mai asked her.

"So what if it is?" Hitomi asked her as they both glared at each other with sparks flying between them.

"I assume you are here for the tournament as well?" Yami asked her.

"Of course, and can I assume that you both got an invitation as well?" Mai asked them.

"Yes but nothing was in it on who hosted the tournament," Yami answered her.

"The same with me, everyone I talked to said they got an anonymous invitation as well, although I did find out the person hosting it has a lot of cash and an obnoxious attitude," Mai said.

"Kaiba," Hitomi said.

"That obvious was it?" Yami asked her and she smiled at him.

"Well it isn't Pegasus that is for sure," Mai said.

"Speaking of Pegasus, this is starting to look like Duellist Kingdom all over again, look there is Rex Raptor and Weevil Underwood," Yami said pointing over to the two of them.

"And that is Miyako Sohma, but why she is hanging around Rex is beyond me," Hitomi gagged.

"And over there is Espa Roba, a duellist said to have psychic powers," Mai said pointing towards a green haired kid standing in front of two younger green haired kids.

"And Mako Tsunami is here as well," Yami said looking over at the fisherman eating several fish.

"Now all that is left is Kaiba," Hitomi said.

"Ask and he shall appear," Mai said pointing to a TV screen above them to see Kaiba's face on the screen.

"Greetings duellists, welcome to Domino City and to my tournament," Kaiba said to everyone watching.

"This guy's ego knows no bounds," Mai said.

"Let's hear what this guy has to say first," Yami said.

"I see that you have all received your private invites to KaibaCorp's very exclusive duel monsters tournament, and you all had enough brains to show up here tonight," Kaiba said and several duellists got angry with that comment. "Being that you are all elite duellists, I have added special rules to my tournament just for you, for one you will duel using this new and improved duel disks, another rule is that before each duel both players will ante up their best card, and the winner gets both of them," Kaiba said.

"My Dark Magician Girl!?" Daisuke asked in shock.

"That means losing only one duel will ruin my deck," Mai said.

"My tournament will make Pegasus and his Duellist Kingdom tournament look like a complete and utter joke," Kaiba said as everyone heard a noise and they all looked up to see Kaiba on a helicopter.

"Kaiba," Hitomi said.

"I knew you would come Daisuke, now we will see who the number one duellist is," Kaiba thought to himself. "Don't forget to register and to pick up your duel disk, because one week from today my Battle City Tournament shall begin," Kaiba told everyone.

"You're on Kaiba!" Hitomi said to him and they both glared at one another.
