Chapter 51: The Eye

Part 2

Ororo and Sesshomaru landed in the rolling golden sand dunes at a distance from the temple where the prosecution had occurred earlier. Behind them could be seen the swell of people running towards the city of Luxor for their lives. Upon landing, they brandished their weapons and prepared their plan of action. Wrathful grey clouds rolled and tumbled above assembling into dangerous climate systems; exuding low-pressures and ready to deliver any call from its irritated mistress. Bursts of white and blue lightening danced and struck all around them, boxing them in. The wind swept the hot sand in all directions due to the opposing energies pushing and pulling all around the immediate area. Their eyes were narrowed as they gazed upon the priest that started it all.

Naveed stood in the sand at a distance from their stances, glaring heatedly as well. His kohl lined purple orbs glowered back at them with malice. The veins in his body began to show as the seconds passed. A slow smirk crept on his thin dry lips as he dug his right hand into one of the many pockets inside of his black robes waiting and wanting. His aura swirled around him treacherously in black and purple waves. His robes whipped around his form and his jeweled necklace lifted around his neck. His left hand clutched his long golden staff as it too shined brightly of purple energy.

Sesshomaru's once golden eyes were tinted red and his jaw began to show the growth of his canine fangs elongating by the minute. His own mix of red and blue energies had exploded upon landing and pushed against Naveed's aura dangerously while covering his mate protectively in its prowess. Sesshomaru's long tendrils of silver hair danced around him seemingly like silvery whips ready to strike out at any moment's notice. His clawed fist clutched the hilt of his sharp sword tightly and held it at an angle towards his opponent.

Ororo's snowy white hair lifted off her shoulders and into the air around her like the clouds hand painted by a skilled Japanese painter. Gone was the ceremonial dress that draped around her body from before. She planned for this moment and as soon as Naveed took off running, she discarded her dress and stepped forward in her warrior's garb. Her regal leather tunic was reinforced with bronze layers on top. Her crown had been collected by one of her loyal men, leaving her free to maneuver and fight without restrictions. She took a step forward towards Naveed with glowing white eyes that seemed to flash every time thunder boomed above. White searing electric currents crackled around her body and danced with her mate's energy at her side.

"Do you have no shame?" She directed at Naveed. "You did all of this. Why?!"

Naveed sneered and tilted his bald head back a bit. "If you must ask, look to your pathetic ancestral line for the answer. Your family was weak!" He hissed. "I've witnessed the bloodshed and tied my hands with your father and your ancestor's commands. For too long, my desires as well as Egypt just fell in the wastelands. Egypt could be greater than she is! She could be ruling over the Greeks by now! But here she is, left to rot under your pitiful hands. I am the only one that knows what's really best for Egypt. It is for this reason, the throne of Egypt belongs to me!" He yelled as he slammed the base of his staff into the sand angrily kicking up the wind and sand about him even more. His power increased as his eyes widened into crazed round orbs. The veins in his face, neck, and around his eyes began to protrude as his eyes began to grow a darker violet.

Ororo shook her head distastefully. Her locks lifted in waves off of her shoulders. "For power…you fool-"

"Don't try to act all high and mighty, young one." Naveed countered with a snarl, cutting her off. "Your family has soiled this earth to the brim in spilt blood for the power and position you currently have. Let's not forget this fact." Naveed tilted his staff in her direction. "But your family has declined. Only you really stand in line for the throne. After you, Egypt doesn't have a blood Pharaoh. You all have proven how weak and pathetic you truly are and your line has died out. I knew you alone would be a force to be reckoned with which is why I sent you away...for good I had hoped. But somehow you had come in once again making a grand return and claiming to have found benevolence from the gods!" He pointedly spoke ushering his staff towards Sesshomaru. "You may have these people fooled, but I am not! Your reign along with that dog of yours has come to its end. Look at what has happened already. Your family has passed one by one yet, I remain the only constant variable. I have outlived you all." He yelled victoriously as he raised his staff in the air and pulled upon his power. Suddenly, hieroglyphics all over his hands and body began to glow in blue shimmery light. The wind whipped wildly about him and his nearly blackened eyes stretched wider. "Amun's line will end with you and there will be a new Pharaoh! The throne belongs to me!" He yelled as a bolt of purple lightning struck his staff and connected to his body. More lethal purple bolts of hot electric power struck the earth and exploded upon impact.

Ororo covered her eyes with her wrists from the shock of light and shocking power that stung her skin like hot needles. Her hands clutched her weapons tightly as she tried to peak beyond the light all around her. Her flesh felt hot from Naveed's call onto power and she threw up a quick barrier to avoid any of his attacks. Her body was abruptly pulled backwards into a solid warm one. She moved her hands, only to see that she had been lifted into the air and placed down a few feet away from where she was previously standing. Her opaque eyes looked to see Sesshomaru's left arm wrapped tightly around her middle while the other held his sword out threateningly towards Naveed. His grip along her waist tightened, keeping her protectively in his hold.

Ororo felt a growing surge of fury within her and it wasn't organic. She was indeed angry but she had dealt with her anger beforehand so she could focus on the battle to be won today. But this feeling…this rage…was raw and aggressive wrath at its finest; thrumming inside of her entire being like a drug swimming in her veins. Like an echo, it started in her chest and grew in waves with the pounding of her blood in her ears. A strong urge to protect and exterminate the man in front of her, filled her chest and began clouding her judgement. She focused on the mounting sensation before she rapidly turned to her mate with a gasp on her lips.

'Oh.' She thought as she gazed up to see red orbs with turquoise slits. Ororo swallowed thickly unsure of where exactly all Sesshomaru's anger was stemming from that his beast was already present. She hadn't even felt the change within him shift during the entire time. She knew and felt that Sesshomaru should be justifiably angry with Naveed but her mate was normally level headed and calm even in the most dire of situations. But here he was…livid with his beast in the wake of them now already. She followed the pathway his scarlet aura was pouring towards. Part of it was wrapped tightly around them both like a cocoon and the other half of his energy had made its way towards his Bakusaiga. Its power crackled and sparked angrily at his opponent begging to be used.

"Die." Sesshomaru commanded darkly before he unleashed a powerful wave of electric blue and white demonic energy from Bakusaiga towards Naveed.

Naveed brought his staff down and hit his attack straight on, keeping it abreast on the edge of his staff. His body was illuminated from the blue light and his face showed the extreme concentration it took to keep Sesshomaru's power from killing him. Naveed muttered a few words in Arabic and quickly Sesshomaru's attack began to absorb into his staff right before their eyes.

'Do not underestimate him, love.' Ororo muttered as she went into a defense pose which was hard to do since Sesshomaru still had his hand wrapped around her middle. She watched her beloved's energy blast absorb quickly into Naveed's religious staff as if it was a cloth soaking up spilled water.

Naveed had served her father and her grandfather well for centuries. He had even done several feats that made him praiseworthy and almost demi-god like. Almost. Naveed was powerful and strong in his many ways. He was not a warrior of the sword but a brilliant strategist. What he lacked in brute strength, he made up for in recon and magical power. 'There is a reason why Naveed has kept his position as High Priest.' She communicated through the bond she shared with her mate. Her eyes flickered to Sesshomaru briefly before she looked back at Naveed's clearly fascinated expression. "You must be careful beloved. Naveed is tricky and uses magic to aid him. Those symbols along his hands and neck glowing are meant for us and I'm sure he's prepared his staff as well against our attacks. He relies heavily on spells and old curses that he uses as traps." She informed as quickly as she could. "It's best if you handle him with your sword and I stay focused on his magic to counter whatever he's planning."

Sesshomaru closed his ruby colored eyes and took in the information his mate was transferring to him rapidly through their bond regarding their opponent. He was pissed to say the least. He had enough of the coward and the more he learned about Naveed, the more he grew to despise him. But that wasn't all. He had something to truly protect. His empire and pack had grown exponentially. All of that which he had now was and still could be at risk. His hand grazed his mate's middle which was blocked by the leather and bronze armor she donned. To his right was his future and he would not have anyone attempt to destroy what was his. He would eliminate all threats no matter where they were or who they were; by any means necessary.

Ororo looked around at the area taking note of the energies pooling around her and the reactions of the earth. She wouldn't be surprised if the area they were to battle in, was laced with a spell or a trap of some kind. Naveed did stop here to face them after all. He chose the battlefield; a dangerous situation to be in. Most likely, Naveed would want to keep them at bay and to stick to his tried and true method of destruction.

Deception.

"Well I've never felt anything quite like this." Naveed spun his golden staff in circles and flicked it with interest. "I think I'll save that for later." He chuckled feeling the vibration of Sesshomaru's energy humming within his staff. His hands grazed affectionately along his cane as if seeing it in a different light. A vibration moved within him and caused his grin to widen into that of a smile.

Sesshomaru was suddenly in front of him in a blurred motion. He moved his weapon to strike Naveed down with his sword. Naveed abruptly called his energy to himself as a shield and pushed it out hastily towards Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru struck out hitting his shield, testing his defenses. Once his sword hit Naveed's barrier, Naveed threw out a few bolts of power at Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru shielded himself against Naveed's attack and jumped away only to come back again with his weapon aimed to slice into Naveed. This time, he was ready to kill. Naveed muttered a few words in Arabic and his golden staff glowed bright blue just like Sesshomaru's weapon. A hieroglyphic on his left hand glowed purple before he rushed forward to meet Sesshomaru's frontal attack. Both clashed their weapons in the center. Massive winds and large amounts of sand kicked up and swirled around them and outwards devastatingly. A shockwave of power pushed around them at outward into the surrounding area. Bright blue light crackled and exploded in the epicenter as both males glared at each other over their weapons.

Ororo ran forward and moved her hands to control the elements. So much sand had kicked up that it was difficult to keep a visual on the two. She held up her hands to still the environment some so she could see when another wave of her energy from both Sesshomaru and Naveed was released pushing her back. The sound of their weapons clashing filled the air. Her ears popped from the noise and the pressure emitting from the fight at hand. Her sandaled heels dug into the sand as she leaned forward with her khopesh weapons to stay upright and grounded. She focused on Naveed's power wondering where he was getting the strength to physically fight Sesshomaru. Her eyes focused on the fight but it was hard to focus on the source with so much energy exploding.

Once again, she waved her hands and took control. The clouds swirled rapidly above and white lightening came burst from the heavens and downwards towards Naveed. Sesshomaru pushed back as the lightning bolt struck Naveed's body and blasted him with bolts of hot electric fire that would fry every nerve ending he had. Naveed's body immediately glowed purple and a hieroglyphic on his right hand lit up in bright purple light as if activated. Her attack was immediately taken and thrown at Sesshomaru with a fierce growl on Naveed's lips. Sesshomaru's aura swirled around him and deflected the attack sending it out towards the desert dunes where an explosion of sand erupted.

"Oh dear child." Naveed started looking rather pleased with himself as he jumped backwards putting space between him and the Pharaohs. "Your pretty sparkle attacks don't work in this fight, Ororo. I guess I didn't teach you quite as much as I should have." He said as he pointed to his head with a side smirk. He twirled his staff again and aimed it at the sky. Another hieroglyphic on his head lit up. "Your reign ends here. And a new era will begin. My e-!"

Ororo rushed after Naveed along with Sesshomaru before he could finish his sentence. A burst of lightening rained from the dark heavens in an array of dark reds and purples. They struck down all around him following both Ororo and Sesshomaru. Both jumped out of the way and took the opportunity to rush Naveed with weapons out. A blast of lightning swirled around him acting as an attacking barrier. Ororo pushed her aura through his attack and aimed her dual khopesh weapons at Naveed ready to slice his head right off. Sesshomaru also held Bakusaiga out and struck out his sword towards Naveed. Their weapons hit his golden staff and a sonic boom unleashed and swept the area. Naveed gritted his teeth as he felt the combined power of Ororo and Sesshomaru pushing against him.

Ororo took the opportunity to glance briefly at the hieroglyphics glowing on his right hand. Her eyes stretched wide as she called for electric currents to burst from her weapons out at Naveed. Immediately, it struck him and swirled around and sprung out towards Sesshomaru. She quickly pulled back and stretched out her hand to absorb her own attack. Sesshomaru glanced over while still pushing against Naveed. Ororo jumped forward and took the opportunity to swipe at Naveed using only the metal blades of her weapons. Naveed immediately pushed off and used Sesshomaru's opposing force to fall back and put distance between him and Ororo.

Ororo slid forward in the sand and twirled her weapons. She looked to Sesshomaru and nodded having confirmed her suspicions. 'The hieroglyphics on his right-hand counters my attacks. The hieroglyphic on his left hands copies the strength from his opponent. That is how he is suddenly capable to meet us like this in battle. He has prepared for us both. I do believe he has more under his robe that he has somehow tattooed or painted on him.

'Naveed lacks the skill of a warrior. Notice mate, he cowers when we get too close to his person.' Sesshomaru responded watching as Naveed began once again twirling his staff in circles. Sesshomaru's energy could be felt inside of Naveed's fighting staff. Naveed quickly pointed it at them and yelled. More of Sesshomaru's electric blue power came at them both in bursts. Both ran and dodged the attack, feeling the sting of how dangerous Sesshomaru's Bakusaiga is.

Both Sesshomaru and Ororo raced forward with speed again. They unleashed a furry of weapon based attacks aimed at the wicked priest. They worked in unison switching between medium and short-range attacks knowing that putting distance between them and Naveed would only aid him in their fight. Also, using any kind of energy attacks would just serve as a distraction and could possibly get themselves injured or killed. Naveed used his staff parry their attacks switching between physical counter measures and bursts of Sesshomaru's power that he had absorbed into his staff to keep them at bay.

Ororo sliced at Naveed on the right. The priest moved to dodge it but fell for the trap as Sesshomaru's sword came from the left and carved into his shoulder. Naveed hissed loudly from the attack and pulled away. The scent of copper burst into Sesshomaru's senses and Ororo nodded her head at the sight of bright red blood trailing from Sesshomaru's blade as he swung it back to prepare for another attack. Ororo leapt forward as well ready to continue their strategy. Naveed's angry eyes were dark pools of black space. He snarled at Sesshomaru as he held his shoulder scowling at them for their assault. He whispered words underneath his breath as he steadily kept up a pace that pushed himself back. Naveed aimed his staff at them both, unleashing a bright streak of combined purple and blue light. Sesshomaru and Ororo jumped back out of the way of his attack but came from the side to eliminate the space again. Naveed slammed his staff into the sand and a ripple sprang forth through the ground underneath them.

Ororo felt her ankle dip into the sand. She glanced downwards to see her feet sink into a liquid substance that she had seen very few times during her travels. She pulled her feet up to step out of the concoction but her foot would not dislodge from the sand's grip. She pulled again and looked back at Sesshomaru to see his boots slowly sinking as well but at a faster rate. Instantly, she recognized what perverse setting Naveed was mimicking. "It's quicksand!" She yelled out while sending information about the phenomenon to her mate. "If you pull too much you will just sink faster."

A giant roar echoed behind them and Ororo turned to see a glimpse of a giant dog, a lion, and a spider dueling in the far distance. "Iset." She whispered to herself recognizing the spider, having seen it countless of times in battle against her enemies. Getting angrier she pushed air around her feet to dislodge herself when she glimpsed Naveed preparing another attack. She threw out her hand and sent a powerful gust of wind at Naveed and knocked him off his feet several meters into the hot sand. A vicious snarl came from her left. Ororo turned to her mate to see his teeth bared and his hair defying gravity by his own energy field. A burst of raging demon energy suddenly swirled around her like a vortex. Ororo concentrated on freeing herself but stopped when a large shadow was cast over her. Ororo was then forced onto her knees onto something soft and padded that she recognized to be a large soft paw. Her body was lifted quickly out of the sand and handled gently above the large expanding pool of quicksand. She stood up quickly and flew into the air, staring down upon Naveed next to her mate who had transformed into his dog demon form. Electric blue and white energy swirled around them both and crackled ominously.

Sesshomaru could sense several large energy patterns scattered all around the area. The battle roar of his General had sounded along with another giant beast in the distance. He did not look though choosing to keep Naveed in his sights. He glared down at the grinning priest and sneered at his arrogance. Naveed forgot that he was the only one bleeding already whereas he and his mate remained unscathed. Naveed thought his little trick would really work but he had failed. It did bring to question what other tricks he had in store for them. It was hard to tell due to the amount of magic and sand filtering through his senses. His mate was right about her analysis. The best attack against their opponent was a physical one and to keep the pressure on him. Sesshomaru made to move forward when several large sandy tendrils shot from the sandy surface and attached to his four legs. He looked down to see them all work to pull him back down towards the pool of quicksand.

Ororo flew towards Naveed with all her might when she was yanked back by several tendrils of sand. They worked mercilessly against her movements to bring her down quickly into the pool of sand, ready to devour her whole. Her hands flew out and large bolts of white lightning burst from her finger tips towards the tendrils pulling upon her flesh. She broke free and turned to see Sesshomaru call upon the same technique in his demonic form. The tendrils kept coming despite how many they cut off and were multiplying. She thought quickly and spread her fingers apart. In moments like this she wished she had her sister at her side. She was always good at spells and enchantments. Ororo thought back to the many teachings she acquired regarding magic and recalled what she was searching for. She muttered a spell and pointed down towards the waves of sand beneath her that moved to drown them like a raging ocean. The sandy tendrils sank down into the dunes and the sand returned to its natural state.

Ororo looked to Sesshomaru and nodded to him. Both landed side by side in the sand dunes preparing their weapons in their hands for what was coming towards them next. Sesshomaru's energy compacted within his body and he returned to his humanoid form; once again holding his weapon out for another attack. Without warning he attacked again. Ororo touched the sand and gathered a handful of beige crystals within her grasp. She watched the tiny golden crystals sink through the gaps of her fingers as she muttered a spell of her own underneath her breath. She was sure Naveed had more spells and tricks ready to be used so she needed to counter them and control the battlefield. Naveed was already using a spell to keep him on par with their strength and skills. She had to negate his attempts if they wanted to stand a chance.

Naveed blocked Sesshomaru's attacks with his staff and grunted at the increased strength the dog demon held. Sweat dripped down the sides of his bald head and into his robes as he met his staff against Sesshomaru's sharp blade. His shoulder was still bleeding from earlier and he was growing tired despite the spell he casted to duplicate his opponent's strength and swordsmanship skills. He unleashed another wave of Sesshomaru's electric blue attack to put distance between them. His eyes flickered quickly to Ororo in the distance muttering something as she held a handful of sand. Her eyes were opaque as the wind picked up considerably from before.

"No you don't!" Naveed yelled as he tapped his weapon into the sand. A powerful blast of sand shot from the base of his golden staff. The sand moved once again underneath their feet. Naveed pushed his right hand out and a giant wave of sand built up like a giant wave, headed straight for Ororo. This time Sesshomaru stayed on the offense, using the allotted time to catch Naveed off guard to attack him. Thinking quickly, he switched his sword to his left hand and used his right claws with the intention of catching the priest off guard. Naveed thought to block his weapon and to protect his front. He stepped forward with his right leg and blocked Sesshomaru's sword, thus making a big mistake. Sesshomaru called forth his poison and his claws glowed green. His sharp talons made contact into Naveed's thigh causing the man to yell out in immediate pain. Before Sesshomaru could pull his claws out however, Naveed grabbed onto his hand and muttered another spell.

Ororo wrapped herself tightly with her own aura and pulled a little bit on her mate's energy for additional safety from the giant wave of sand meant to bury her alive. She flew upwards as fast as she could to out run it. One hand kept the barrier going and the other called forth from the grey clouds rolling above for assistance. The sky grumbled, answering to her demands. A large grey funnel began to develop in the sky above her. It swirled rapidly and stretched its way down around her with haste. The wave of sand collided with the spinning vortex of powerful winds and broke apart the threat completely. The air cleared as she dispelled the vortex. Her eyes scanned the sands below to see Sesshomaru not moving as Naveed held onto his hand. Right under Sesshomaru's feet glowed a hieroglyphic symbol that swirled in the sand.

"Sesshomaru!" Ororo yelled as she flew with haste downwards towards Naveed. She couldn't attack with her electric powers, otherwise she'd risk hitting Sesshomaru as well in the attack. She gripped her Khopesh weapons tightly and pulled back to attack Naveed.

Naveed hissed at the sting of Sesshomaru's claws still tucked into his thigh. Naveed jerked Sesshomaru's talons from his flesh, but kept holding onto his hand bloody hand to finish his spell. It was hard to focus on his task as the smell of some strange foul stench grew. He looked to his open wound again to see green fluid eating away his skin and muscle tissue. "W-what is this?" He roared as his heart pounded in his chest. He stumbled away to put distance between him and a now irate Sesshomaru. Naveed watched as Sesshomaru's hands reached out and swung at him wildly with deadly poison and blood dripping into the sand.

Naveed spat at his feet and moved to reach for Sesshomaru's sword until he froze in place. He quickly looked to Ororo, noticing her form flying towards him from his peripheral vision. He jumped up to meet her attack with a pained grimace upon his face. He was almost done for thanks to the dog but he would get his end shortly. His thigh now burned considerably and he could feel the torn flesh of his muscles deteriorating rapidly. Holes in his robe had burned through as well giving a glimpse of the injury he sustained. The ache in his bone had flared, diverting his attention. He aimed his staff at Ororo and met her twin blades head on in a powerful blow of power.

Sesshomaru simply stood still in the sand as Naveed's trap swirled underneath his feet. A tingling sensation began to sweep from his toes to the tips of his fingers. A numbing feeling followed that left his body feeling lethargic and weak. His arms and legs grew tired and his poor attempts at reaching Naveed became sloppy and sluggish. Sesshomaru moved his head gradually feeling the muscles in his body tire. His body started to quake until the weight of his own weight began to burden him. Sesshomaru fell to his knees into the revolving sands with his arms and knees holding up his torso. Naveed's spell rung in his ears like a mantra over and over. Sesshomaru's body began to tremor as his limbs slowly gave out. Sesshomaru looked to his bloody right hand to see visible cuts form and drip with his own blood. As the seconds ticked on, more and more cuts became visible along his wrists and arms. He lifted his palm and turned it to see small little slashes appear right before his eyes. They stung as more and more developed. Something wet dripped from his forehead and onto the back of his left palm. The scent of his own blood surrounded him as he shook to understand what was happening to him. With as much strength as he could gather, he lifted his hand and touched the moisture beading down his face and into his vision. His fingers felt the line of a cut and another one growing right on top of the other one. Two fingers pulled away to reveal his own blood coating his ring and index fingers.

He snarled angrily at Naveed, watching the priest do battle with his mate. Naveed's voice whispered louder in his ears and more blood began to drain from the numerous cuts appearing on his body. He could sense her fear and urgency pouring into their shared bond trying to force a connection with him. Through their bond, his pain was her pain and vice versa. His well-being was at the front of her mind and he knew that wouldn't do if she was to win this battle. He pulled upon his aura but found the pathways blocked. His rubicund eyes swept the sands beneath him, forcing his energy to reveal the trap beneath him. Using the little bit of energy and knowledge he could gather from his mate, he was finally able to see the curse underneath him. He was currently locked in position upon the hieroglyphic spell Naveed summoned. It crackled beneath him with power…his own power that Naveed collected earlier from his attack. Naveed's spell began to become louder in his own mind, almost blocking out his mate's bond to himself as well as his own mental thoughts. He cursed his healing abilities noticing that the wounds were healing like they should have. It was also becoming a growing struggle keeping his upper body up. He could feel himself beginning to fall into the ever-growing dunes of sand that blew around them. Sweat and blood danced upon his flesh. His concentration of control over his body began to wane. He could feel the dark energy break him down like a disease inside, calling for his own death.

"You cannot do battle with me and save him at the same time!" Naveed jeered as he met Ororo blow for blow. He laughed loudly as he pushed against her weapon and watched her eyes dart from him to her mate suffering in the sands. "A choice must be made, young one." He taunted. "But the dog is kneeling. I think it's time you should follow his example and do the same." Naveed swung his rod and hit furiously against ORoro's weapons. "I could be merciful and end this for you."

Ororo screamed loudly as she slammed her khopesh swords against his golden staff. The steel of her blade clashed with Naveed's over and over until she just began hacking away in hopes of breaking the damn thing. She needed to kill him and do so now but only physical attacks would do. She could glimpse through the tiny spaces in his robes that he had hieroglyphic spells written all over the place making it difficult to take him down. Panic rose inside of her chest until it became almost strangling. Seeing her beloved hunched over and bleeding before her so rapidly was killing her. His pain and silent anguish rang inside of her like bells. The bleeding wouldn't stop but only worsen until he eventually died. Every fiber in her body desired to tend to her mate and get them out of here. She needed to end the spell or else. But she knew it was a setup. Naveed was using Sesshomaru as bait while slowly killing him. She could perform the spell to undo his magic but Naveed was attacking now far too quickly to allow her to do so. He would kill her regardless. But she had no choice. She wouldn't lose Sesshomaru. She couldn't.

Sesshomaru slumped down until his belly rested against the bed of sand. He spit harshly as some of the little crystals blew into his mouth and mixed with his blood that was now dripping down his face like water. Bloody talons dug into the sand and moved to grip the flesh within his own palms. With every ounce of energy he could muster, he pushed himself up on his hands and knees. A soft hand touched his back and he turned his head to see who dared to touch him.

"Ash ehmed udom."

Asa rushed to Sesshomaru's side and knelt next to him. Her hands stretched out in front of her face to fight against the ongoing strong winds and sand blowing up into her line of sight. Sesshomaru's red eyes took her glowing white hands into perspective. Her energy was warm and bright as she touched him gently, instantly bringing relief against the strain on his body. Asa held her hand on his back while the other touched the words swirling in the sands keeping Sesshomaru trapped. She waved her hand and repeated the words lowly until the hieroglyphic vanished from sight. "Ash ehmed udom." She repeated one final time before moving her hands to grip his shoulders.

Sesshomaru gradually felt his aura and strength returning to him. The cuts on his hands and arms began to heal leaving only his blood to coat his skin and clothes. Asa ripped a piece of her dress and wiped his face with it to clear his vision. She nodded to him and stepped back to watch as Sesshomaru pulled himself up to stand on his own feet without her aid. He turned to look at Asa as she bent down back into the sand and touched the area where he once was held down against his will. The same symbol from earlier that kept him locked in place flashed before his eyes and disappeared in white light. He looked to Asa and nodded in understanding of what she had done.

"Push him towards me and he won't escape." She promised with determination in her eyes. Asa's face looked bruised from an injury but in that moment, she held every regal attribute and fortitude as his mate. Magic swirled around her as her lips summoned her own power. "Magic does not simply go away without a cleanse. His magic and your power are still linked to this place. I'm reversing the curse to pull upon Naveed and any energy released to work against him. He will be the death of himself. Use your sword."

Sesshomaru nodded and took out Bakusaiga once more. He looked to his mate watching as she fought valiantly on his behalf. Ororo had all of Naveed's attention as the cocky priest gloated about his circumstance to bait his mate. Sesshomaru rushed forward and swiped his weapon to destroy Naveed from behind. Naveed's hieroglyphics along his body activated and he moved just in time narrowly missing the attack. The wind howled and the sand lifted along with the charged energy all around them. Sesshomaru charged his sword and a giant silvery and blue dragon formed all around him glaring sinisterly at Naveed. He unleashed the powerful wave of youkai electric blue energy with a swipe of his weapon.

"Dragon Strike!" He roared.

"Sesshomaru!" Ororo yelled before she felt the calm serenity in his aura. Her eyebrows went up as she listened quickly to what her mate was calling upon her to try for the first time.

Naveed yelled manically as his weapon sprang forth to absorb Sesshomaru's attack. Sesshomaru pushed as much as he could to propel Naveed back into the sand. Naveed's heels dug into the hot sand to give himself footing. He laughed loudly and watched his staff glow purple and blue as it absorbed the white and blue electric hot tsunami of power that was Sesshomaru's Dragon Strike. Once the light vanished he twirled his staff in circles once again feeling the raw awesome power vibrating within his staff ready to kill his victims. "Didn't you learn from the first time! I cannot be beaten! And now victory is mi-"

Two arms were around him suddenly and a spell was being muttered in his ear. His eyes widened into saucers as he heard the mutterings coming from the last person he expected to meet in battle. His eyes came face to face with Asa's as her once brown eyes glowed much like her older sisters. Opaque orbs stared into his own as her spell activated and her lips moved. His staff became too hot to hold and he dropped it into the sand. Purple and blue energy burst from the staff and fed the hieroglyphics underneath his feet. He made to turn but he found his feet were locked in place. His hands came up to grip her neck to strangle her off of him when suddenly, his staff broke in half and released electric purple, white, and blue currents. Black orbs glared down to see Sesshomaru's power working as a conduit to the spell that Asa had reversed. His own power, anchored him down.

Her finger touched Naveed's forehead as she muttered another spell. The sand all around him erupted into bright blue light. Asa watched as the hieroglyphics along his right and left hand began to vanish into purple smoke. Naveed looked up with wide eyes before anger took a hold of him. He reached his hands forward to grab Asa by her head with another enchantment upon his lips. Suddenly his body stilled just before his fingers could touch her neck. A sharp searing hot pain flooded his senses from his abdomen and his chest. His heart constricted and pulsed within him agonizingly. The scent of burning fleshed filled his nose. He looked down to see two hands of different skin tones and sizes glowed brightly of green coloration and dripped lethal poison. Both clawed hands were lodged right into his chest and abdomen.

Asa stepped backwards and stood up to her feet. She glared down at Naveed with a frown upon her petite face. She looked to see Sesshomaru's fist clutched into Naveed's chest and Ororo's hand was inserted into his kidneys. Asa's long black hair swayed in the wind as the sandstorm around them had finally begun to die down. Naveed's energy and aura vanished around him. His eyes turned back to their original brown hues, this time filled with disbelief and fear. Asa spread her hands out and stood before him. "You are enchanted by your own spell, locking you into place with the energy you stole from my sister and her king."

Ororo stepped in front of him with a bloody clawed hand glowing bright with poison. Long claws stretched from the tips of her fingers outwards like that of her mate. She stood side by side with her sister as she gazed down upon Naveed for the final time. Her eyes were white as she took him into her sights. The swirling grey skies above grumbled and lightning danced in the skies above with excitement. "May the scales of justice reign supreme over your soul, Naveed." She finished as his heart was ripped from his chest by Sesshomaru. A flash of a single electric white bolt, shot from the heavens down towards Naveed's body and made contact. His whole form shook and sizzled before them as his scream for mercy echoed around the area. Then everything went silent and calm.

Naveed's eyes stared out from his burnt carcass. His charred body slumped forward into the sand. The sound of flesh deteriorating and the stench of decaying tissue and organs filled the air. Asa bent down to touch his flesh and ensure his death. They watched as smoke evaporated from his body and all the hieroglyphics vanished into the air. The poison from Sesshomaru and Ororo's talons ate quickly away at what was left of his body. Asa's spell shined underneath them keeping his body sealed to the space he thought to trap Sesshomaru. She prayed over the space, dispelling any remaining energies tied to the place as well as to send Naveed's energies into the afterlife. His staff vanished as well into smoke just as the poison began to break down his bones. Everyone continued to watch until there was nothing left but a few remains and a dirty old black holey robe.

The skies rumbled and began to clear, making way for the sun to shine through the cloudy heavens. Warm rays broke free and graced Egypt with its presence. The sand settled upon still dunes and the wind grew quiet with only a whistle remaining. Everything came to a calm and the earth quieted. Asa stood up to her feet and was shocked to feel her body pulled into a tight embrace. She looked to see tears in her sister's eyes as she was engulfed into her loving hold. Asa's own tears came to her eyes and fell down her face as she hugged her sister back ferociously.

"I-I'm so so sorry." Asa cried into her sister's chest. "I-"

"Shhhh…." Ororo quieted and held her sister close to her body as she rocked her. "All is forgiven." Ororo pulled back and combed her sister's hair out of her bruised face. Ororo frowned at the marks there and knew from whom they came from. She pulled back and gently touched her sister's face.

Asa leaned into her palm just relieved to see her sister alive and that finally Naveed was dead. She smiled as Ororo wiped her tears away with her thumb and held her chin. She vowed to herself then and there, that she would spend the rest of her days making this up to them and all the people she hurt. She refused to be the monster that she was slowly turning into. She refused to dishonor her deceased baby boy. She would be strong and she would love him from the other side until they could be together. She would not give anyone else anymore power over her and furthermore, she would not cause any more pain and suffering to her family. Both immediate and extended. Asa looked to Sesshomaru and bowed her head respectfully to him out of earned respect. Sesshomaru nodded his head and turned to look towards the Luxor.

Ororo turned to look at the city as well, watching as smoke and fire rained down on her beloved city. The sound of the people screaming and chaos filled the air. Ororo smiled to see Iset standing victoriously in the distance by the river along with their companions, raising her sai in victory. Asa began muttering the beginnings of another spell, concentrating on forming a barrier over the city. White light formed and stretched to the city limits with the aid of Iset in the distance. Asa and Iset made eye contact and bowed their heads to each other.

Ororo grinned inwardly at the outcome of the once dark situation. What the enemy tried to tear apart, was instead given a second chance to be made into stronger healthier bonds. The filth and the disease that were her enemies had been eliminated from her house and from Egypt's being. A few stragglers remained and they would be dealt with starting with the elders that thought they were untouchable. She turned to her mate with determination in her eyes. She looked upon his somewhat bloody face and sent her deepest respect and love for him through their bond. He reached up and cupped her face in understanding before pulling away to stand at Ororo's and Asa's side. Their eyes scanned the city's borders, forming a plan of action. Ororo stepped forward and began walking. "Come family, we have a kingdom to restore order to."
