"They are very persistent."
Yu looked over his shoulder and saw his shadow staring solemnly at him. "I suppose that shows that they really do care about us. Doesn't it?"
Yu's shadow didn't give a verbal response, instead he took out one of Yu's notebooks and began reading through it.
Yu sighed and crossed his arms. "You can't keep me here. We will eventually get out. And I won't give you what you want." Yu looked away from his shadow and saw Kanji's shadow laying nearby on a couch. "Aren't either of you going to say anything?"
"I think we should put on some theatrics before we meet up with Yu's friends." Kanji's shadow got up and walked over to Yu's shadow. He draped himself on him and giggled softly. "You can be the king and I'll be your loyal servant."
Shadow Yu closed the book and looked at Kanji with a blank expression. After a few moments of the two staring at each other Shadow Yu laughed and shook his head. "Of course we can. Perhaps we can reset the room." With a twist of his wrist, Shadow Yu changed the room into a throne room with two thrones. He looked to Yu and motioned him to the throne on the left.
"Didn't we already see this with Chie and Yukiko's shadows?" Yu walked over to his seat and sat down, as he did metal clamps popped out and locked him into place. "Oh come on... seriously?"
"You are still me captive." Shadow Yu transformed himself into wearing rather kingly regalia, and then looked to Kanji's shadow who cooed over it.
"So handsome~" He draped himself on Shadow Yu again making Yu look away blushing. "Now what should I wear... what about this?" Yu looked back to Shadow Kanji and saw him in rough looking pants, no shirt, and a ... dog collar.
Yu's face reddened further and he looked away again.
"I think its excellent my dear." Shadow Yu ran a hand through Shadow Kanji's hair making him squee.
"This makes me feel all kinds of awkward." Yu murmured as he kepts his gaze averted.
"You know you love it." Kanji cooed and posed in front of Yu.
Yu bit his lower lip and looked away again. "No comment."
While Shadow Yu was walking over to his throne, the doors to the room were slammed open to reveal Saki, Yosuke, Kanji, and Teddie. Shadow Yu's eyes darkened and he sat himself down. Shadow Kanji walked up to Shadow Yu and sat down by the side of his throne, being stroked by Shadow Yu.
"What the hell is going on here?" Yosuke blurted out as he saw the shadows together.
"None of your business I should think." Shadow Yu said coldly as he looked away from the group to Shadow Kanji. "So you are here to free Narukami I take it. What exactly are your motives for this? Can it really be out of a sense of friendship?"
Yu looked over at four individuals before him and smiled. 'I... I have to believe that this is the case. It is the case! Why else would they put up such an effort.'
"We're here to save Yu from being hurt by you or anyone else. He is our friend, and I owe him a lot for the past few months." Saki took out her sword and pointed it at Shadow Yu. "So let him go!"
Shadow Yu glared at Saki than snapped his fingers. "Oh yes. Saki, the girl who lived. Without Yu you would have likely ended up on the news dead. Then you just kind of clamped onto the group making yourself a second in command. Also you helped Yu take his exams by bribing the principle." Shadow Yu leaned his head on his hands and sighed. "I... suppose that I can't outright write this off as entirely self motivated by you. You did take a huge hit upon betraying your parents trust didn't you."
Saki opened her mouth to respond, but grew silent and looked to the ground.
Shadow Yu looked over to Yosuke and scoffed. "I never liked you."
Yu looked over at his Shadow, and dropped his mouth open. "Excuse you!" he said frantically.
Yosuke looked dumbfound at Shadow Yu and then gave a laugh. "Oh come on, if that were true why would he put up with me so much?"
"I ask myself that same question. You're brash, selfish, and very obnoxious." Shadow Yu looked down to Shadow Kanji and smiled. "I suppose you've served some use, though truly I find you more annoying than anything."
Yosuke laughed again, more weakly this time and looked to Yu. "He's just messing with us right? You..." Yosuke's face darkened as Yu didn't return his look. "You... really don't like me?"
"I wouldn't put it so harshly, its just you kind of rub me the wrong way." Yu, bit his lip and looked over at Saki who was looking tense.
Yosuke looked down to his feet, then let out a loud laugh. "Well, at least he's better than how most people treat me, right? So what if Yu doesn't like me. Saki doesn't like me either." Yosuke shook his head and looked over at Yu. "At the very least, you don't hate me right?"
Yu smiled and nodded his head.
"I can live with that..." Yosuke than flipped off Shadow Yu. "But I'll warn you now, I'm gonna do my best to become real friends with you, and with Saki-senpai!"
Yosuke looked at Saki who smiled and shrugged her shoulders. "Always ready to put your all into it aren't you, Hana-chan?"
Shadow Yu frowned and looked over at Teddie and then his gaze froze on Kanji. "I..." he shut his eyes and crossed his arms. "I... Kanji." Shadow Kanji perked up and looked over at Shadow Yu."Will you... admit to it?"
"Admit to what?" Kanji tilted his head confused and then looked from his shadow to Yu's shadow. "Oh! Oh!" Kanji's face turned red and he looked down to his feet. "Well I like ya Yu and stuff and..." Kanji grew silent and he covered his reddening face.
Yu sighed. "Kanji..." Smiling he looked up at him and jingled the bracelt that Kanji had made for him. "Kanji I really like you. A lot. And I want you to know that I'd date you in a heartbeat. You are the sweetest person I've met, and being with you always brings me such joy. So Kanji, will you go out with me?"
Kanji looked up at Yu, his face all red, and tears now coming down his face. "But you're a guy, I'm a guy... is that..."
"As long as its you, I don't care Kanji." Yu looked over to his shadow and Kanji's shadow who were standing close together watching what was happening.
Kanji let out whimper and wiped his eyes. "I... I..." Running up to Yu he grabbed at the bars that had him trapped in his chair and ripped them off. He then ripped Yu out of the throne and gave him a bone crushing hug. "I wanna be with you too!" He bellowed.
"Kanji, you're crushing me." Yu croaked out.
Kanji relaxed his grip and held Yu's hand. "Sorry about that Yu-chan." Kanji sniffled and looked over to the shadows.
Yu did the same and tightened his grip on Kanji's hand. "Will you come back to us now. We do accept you as part of who we are. Right Kanji-kun?"
Kanji looked shyly up at Yu than back at the shadows. "Yeah what he said..."
The two shadows smiled sadly and stood up holding hands too. In a flash of light the two had transformed. Yu's shadow had become a little rabbit that had patchwork skin. and Kanji's became a huge black robot holding a lightning bolt. It also had a skeleton painted on it's body. The rabbit was in the robot's arms and the two walked over to Yu and Kanji, then fused back into them.
Yu then looked to all the others and smiled at them. "Thank you, thank you all so much for helping me. Now... let's head home."
