Chapter 48- A Surprise for the Records
Me: Alright, as you can tell from the title there is going to be a surprise in this chapter.
Tid: What is it?
Me: No spoilers! I do not own the rights to Naruto Shippuden or My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Rarity and I were walking through town some time at night. "Tid, may I ask you something?" She asked. I was tempted to say 'you just did', but decided against it. "Of course." I said. "What would you do if you lost me again?" She asked. "What would I do? I... I don't know. I'd probably lose my mind. I hope I'd never have to go through that hell again." I said. She was silent. We walked in silence for a while. Eventually we came upon a figure crying in the park. Rarity and I looked at each other. I could tell we were thinking the same thing. We walked toward the figure, and it lifted its head. Rarity and I were shocked to see who it was. Her sunglasses rested on top of her head, revealing her scarlet eyes. Tears were streaming down her face. I noticed she had transformed back into a pony. "Vinyl? What are you doing here?" Rarity asked. "It's Robert. I don't know what to do." She replied burying her face in her hooves. Rarity and I sat down across from her. Rarity placed her hoof on Vinyl's shoulder. "There, there. Now, tell us what happened." She said. Vinyl looked up at Rarity. "Robert's been having these 'visions', as he calls them. We believe he's been losing his mind. This morning I found a note on the counter from him." She started crying again when she mentioned the note. "May we read it?" Rarity asked. Vinyl nodded and pulled out the note from somewhere I didn't see. She handed the note to Rarity and she read it aloud. "'Vinyl, if you are reading this, then I must have already left... My ever increasing loss of sanity is causing me to flip out, and destroy unintentionally. My visions are becoming worse and worse; I, can't tell what is real and what isn't anymore. Voices in my head are telling me to do terrible things and turn against people. With this I can't be around you, or anyone else. For your safety, the safety of the kids, and the safety of the kingdom, I have gone on a journey by myself. I have left Equestria for the fear of harming others. Do not come after me; as it will only make matters worse.'" "That's not exactly what it says." Vinyl interrupted. "I know, I'm paraphrasing his horrid grammar." Rarity said. Vinyl remained silent, save for the sobbing. Rarity continued again. "'I don't know how long I'm going to be gone, but until I can keep myself from going insane and find peace, I shall not return. If I do not return for a while, tell the children how great I was,'" She couldn't keep herself from chuckling at this. "'And for their sake, not mine, don't tell them I did this. Their curiosity may lead them to come after me. I love you, and I always will... Goodbye.'" She finished.
Vinyl began to cry even harder. Rarity looked at me for assistance. I shrugged, not knowing what to do either. She cautiously placed her hoof on Vinyl's shoulder. "There, there, darling. Everything will be fine." She said. "How? Robert's gone who knows where, and he's insane! I don't know if I'll ever see him again!" She said. "Maybe this is for the better." I said. "For the better? How could you say that?" She asked. "Listen to me. There's a saying: 'If you love something, set it free. If it comes back to you, then it's yours. If it doesn't, then it never was.'" I said. She stared at the ground. "So you're saying Robert leaving was actually a test of our love?" She asked. I nodded. "Vinyl, darling. I believe that you and Robert will make it through this trial together. After all, I died and Tid brought me back to life. That was a sign of how much he loved me. Tid has shown he loves me enough to give up his life, and I believe Robert's love for you is almost as strong as his." Rarity said. I smiled and hugged Rarity. Vinyl said nothing. She sat there, staring at the ground, tears still falling from her face. She looked up eventually and smiled. "Thank you guys." She said. "It wasn't any trouble at all!" Rarity said. Vinyl stood up and we did the same. "Well, I'm sorry to have interrupted your date. I'll... Just be heading home now." She said. She turned around and started walking away. Then an idea came to me. "Vinyl, wait." I said. She stopped and looked at me. "How would you like to join our Allied forces? We could certainly use the help of another princess." I said. She considered it for a moment. "Alright, I'll join you." She said. I smiled. "Great! I'll let you know what you can do as soon as possible." I said. She nodded and walked away again.
Rarity and I continued our walk through town. "That was something, wasn't it?" I asked. She nodded. She seemed to have something on her mind. "Is something wrong?" I asked her. "No, everything's perfectly fine darling." She said. I wrapped my arm around her. She leaned in closer to me. We continued to walk in silence. When we arrived at our favorite spot not he riverbank, we sat down and gazed out over the moonlit water. We had done this many times before, but the magic of the moment never left. When we were there, I felt as if we were the only two beings in the entire universe. Nothing could ruin the moment; or so I thought. Just then a blue phone booth appeared in front of us on the opposite riverbank. The caramel colored pony with a brown mane emerged with the gray blonde pony. "Tid, I need to speak with you." He said. I looked at Rarity. "Go on ahead darling. I'll be here when you return." I nodded and walked to the other riverbank. He led me inside of the phone booth and the blonde pony shut the door. "Tid, I have a prophecy for you." He said. "A prophecy?" I asked. He nodded. "'Limits will be removed and a flame shall be ignited; one that will bring forth a new era of heavenly light. However, with this light a new darkness shall arise; one that can only be dispelled when two halves are made whole, and the words are said. The words, that were said before the end.'" He said. "What does that mean?" I asked. "Sorry, no spoilers." He said. "So, I'm supposed to continue with my life as if I never heard the prophecy?" I asked. He nodded. "Then why tell me?" I asked. "The meaning behind this prophecy will be evident soon enough. Farewell, Tid." He said and pushed me out of the phone booth. I looked behind me and saw it disappear. I looked back at Rarity and she shrugged.
