Life With Jack Frost: Teen Guardian Parents

Chapter 49:

You're feeling sick the next day and you can feel your strength draining every hour. Jack didn't leave by your side and he kept making you smile. Jef on the other hand, was in his best friend's room, still surprised about what he heard. The smile on his face hasn't disappeared and Ashen thinks this was funny and entertaining.

She was talking to him but "what was that" was the only reply Jef was saying to her. Ashen would laugh every time it happens.

"Are you going to say it to them?" asked the Nightmare Princess and the young guardian's sun stared at the ceiling.

"Uhmm… maybe… at the right time." He said with a smile.

"You're not angry with them?" continued Ashen as she rested her back on her bed.

"Not really. I'm actually happy when I heard it. I'm not furious at all. Besides, I already thought about it. They never left me. They were there since the beginning." Said Jef softly then gazed at his best friend. "They became my best friends."

"I'm happy for you, Jef…" whispered Ashen with a frown, "You're very lucky. My family is a mess."

"For now. We will fix it." Answered her best friend and Ashen sat up to give Jef a tight, warm hug.

Suddenly, the two kids heard tons of bells jingling. They looked at each other and ran to the door. They opened it and saw the little elves running as fast as they could. They don't really know where they were going. Then after a few seconds, a couple of yetis appeared, running the same way the elves were going.

"Should we follow them?" whispered Ashen and Jef pulled her before she can say another word.

"What's happening?" asked Jef to Phil.

"Hubaka Kilamana Juyido Balibu.."

"Uh…. Not really a big help, Phil but thanks." Said Jef and he head Ashen giggled. "I think I need to take yeti language lessons from North when this is done."

They followed the elves and the yetis then they entered North's workplace. They say the big four dressed up but Jack was not with them. The elves and yetis hurriedly went somewhere, probably the garage, to prepare the sleigh.

"What's going on?" asked Jef to the man in the red suit.

"It's Pitch. We know where he is. And the surprising part is that he's not causing any trouble. It's like located himself for a purpose." Said North in a Russian accent.

"Where's Jack?" added Jef while searching for his young dad.

"With Snowflake. He doesn't want to go but she's trying to make him." Replied North while putting on his big, warm long coat.

"I want to come." Demanded Ashen and the big four changed looks at each other.

"Why not?" Said North unsurely with a jolly grin.

"Are you sure, mate?" whispered Bunnymund then, North simply shook his head. "Don't you think it's part of Pitch's plan. He knows that Ashen will do anything to come to see him."

"I know, Bunnymund. But there's nothing we can do. Ashen wants to fix this as much as we do." Muttered North.

Jack Frost came in, his face not that happy. He patted his son's head as he passed by and talked to North. "Are we all set?" he asked with a angry tone in his voice.

"In a minute." Said guardian leader. "You have no other choice, ei?" he added with a loud guffaw.

"Obviously. She also wants Jef to come if Ashen's going." Said the young guardian then looked at the two kids.

"Unfortunately, Ashen will come. So…" said the Easter Bunny with his arms crossed.

"Great…" whispered Jack irritatedly.

"He's just in a bad mood." Whispered Jef in Ashen's ear. They all went in the sleigh and took off. Jef took out his flute and gripped it tightly. There's something different about it. He read the words and said it slowly…

"Jef Wynter Frost…"

His eyes widened and covered his mouth. Ashen obviously heard it but fortunately no one else was paying attention.

"Jack…" called out Jef while putting his flute back in his shirt. "How's snowflake doing?"

"She's feeling better." Jack lied. He gazed at his son and smiled. He can't fool his young son though. Jef knew something's wrong. Jack sat quietly and had a flashback.

"You need to go with them. They need you more than I do." You said while cupping his cheeks.

"You need me more. Look at you!" he shouted but you smiled back at him. "You are not OK. What if something happens while we're away?"

"The yetis are here." You stated, "They'll watch over me. Go with them. Watch the kids, for me."

"The kids? You think North will-"

"Oh, trust me, he will." you Interjected and continued, "It's Pitch. Ashen's dad. She'll go even though you like it or not. So-"

"If Ashen will come… Jef will too." The young guardian cut in then scratched his head.

You giggled but suddenly felt pain in your chest. Jack's face softened then kissed your forehead. You closed your eyes to feel his warm kiss and wrapped your arms around his neck.

"Get some rest…" he whispered and planted a kiss on your cheek.

"Jack… Jack!" shouted Bunnymund then the winter spirit slightly jumped.

"What's the big deal!" screamed Jack irritatedly and pushed the Easter Bunny away.

"Here's the plan…" repeated the man in the red suit.

Jack Frost will be hidden, watching out the two kids, while the rest will do the guarding while they meet the Nightmare King. They went to their position and waited. They can hear neighs of horses from afar. They prepared their weapons, including Jef.

Jef swung Ashen behind him using his arm and gripped her wrist. Ashen was looking around, searching for his dad. The neighing stopped. Pitch was in front of them. The big four stood in front of the two kids and Ashen stood straight to take a good look of his dad.

"Stay behind me." Whispered Jef but Ashen wasn't listening.

"I want to talk to my daughter." Said the Nightmare King sternly.

This one doesn't have the locket. North stood aside and the others followed, except your son. Ashen touched Jef's hands and nodded. The young guardian's son stood aside and watched his best friend walked towards the dangerous Bogeyman.

Ashen stood in front of his dad. Pitch suddenly reached out a hand. The Nightmare princess stared at it and gazed at his dad's eyes.

"I want to show you something."he said softly. It's a soft good tone not his usual lying like tone. Jef was about to disagree but, Ashen gave him a signal.

"I promise… I won't hurt you." Added Pitch and his golden dark eyes became feeble. "I'll send you back to the big four after this and you can decide later."

"No, no, no…" muttered Jef. His staff was glowing with anger and worry.

"I…." whispered Ashen… "I trust you…"

Ashen reached his dad's hand and disappeared in a heartbeat, leaving the big four and Jef behind. The young guardian's son fell on his knees and dropped his silver staff. Jack flew and hugged him warmly.

"She'll be fine…" he comforted, but Jef was not contented. "Ashen is Pitch's only daughter. He can't hurt her. Everyone felt silent. They waited for Ashen to come back, hoping that she will still be the Ashen they met.
