Ragdat looked over the map they were using to plan their assault on the Ark. After finding that there was no way to save Makeb, the only way to save the people was to evacuate the planet. And the only way to do that was to capture the Ark on the Giant's Spear mesa, Ragdat's experience in directing armies was the only way they were going to get to the Ark with minimal casualties.

Around him were Doctor Lemda Avesta, his girlfriend Kira Carsen, Padawan Nadia Grell, the leader of the militia that they had managed to scrape together, de facto Chief of State Shalim Avesta, and Master Vedere. Shalim had made Ragdat the Supreme Commander of Makeb Forces, which pretty much amounted to 50 people ready and willing to do whatever it took to take the Ark from the Hutts.

"This bridge would be the best place to lure the droids," Kira said, bringing Radgat's attention to the task at hand. "Drop the droids into the core there while we take the Storm Chaser."

"Good idea," Nadia added. "Keep the Regulators from reinforcing them while we take the command deck."

"We're there to destroy it, Nadia, not take it," Ragdat reminded her. "We're trying to weaken the Hutts forces so we can get everyone to the Ark safely."

"Right," Nadia said. "That's what I meant."

"Still seems risky," Doctor Avesta interjected. "The Regulators know the area, and may have set up additional defenses. And that's not even mentioning the groundquakes."

"Don't worry, Lemda," Master Vedere said. "I won't let anything happen to you."

Ragdat watched as both women's cheeks turn red from blushing, reminded of how young they were. Lemda was 22, and had received her doctorate in geophysics at 16. Master Vedere was 19, and had reached that landmark shortly before joining the Jedi Council. Both were highly accomplished despite their youth, but lacked the life experience to be a little more subtle. It was adorable in a way, their ham fisted attempts to flirt with each other.

"Master Vedere is right, Doctor," Ragdat added. "We have four Jedi leading the charge to where we need to go, and your people will only truly be required to defend the bridge while we take the Storm Chaser."

"Master Ragdat!" A young trooper shouted, bursting in on the meeting. "The transport is prepped and ready for launch."

"Good," Ragdat said. "Contact the team at the outpost, and inform them we'll be heading over soon." He turned his attention back to the meeting. "We'll break into 4 teams, each lead by one Jedi. We'll rendezvous at the bridge, and then finish our assault from there."

"Yes sir!" Everyone shouted, and headed out. This would be a tough series of fights, Ragdat thought, but he figured that having a Jedi at their head would give all the teams some much needed confidence; knowing the Force was on their side was always a shot in the arm for any fighting force, and would help the scared militiamen let go of their fear and maintain cool heads while under fire.

It'll be enough, he thought, as he headed out to brief their soldiers of the mission objectives.
