Chapter 49-The Cousin: Part 2
It was several hours since Brian agreed to take Ally out for dinner, despite his reluctance. That and the fact that he had to borrow money from his parents only added pressure to the purple fox, something that Brian didn't enjoy in the slightest.
Now here he was, standing right in front of the Dump's Cave, dressed in a nice black tuxedo, waiting for the green gerbil to show up.
'Where is Ally?' Brian wondered.
At the same time the purple fox was pondering, just a few inches away, Gumball, Darwin, Anais, Mike and Rhonda poked their heads out. The boys wore nice black tuxedos, while the girls wore elegant green dresses, with Rhonda wearing a straw hat and a pair of sunglasses, as the five waited for Ally to show up.
"Are you sure Ally's going to show up?" asked Gumball.
"We haven't seen her since we dropped her at your house, Rhonda." Darwin pointed out.
"Don't worry guys, she'll show up." Rhonda assured the Watterson brothers.
"I hope so..." Mike began. "This tuxedo feels so restricting."
"Once we get what we need, we'll be out ASAP." Anais informed the maroon badger.
While the five continued to chat with one another, Brian, meanwhile, waited for what felt like an eternity, until finally, a familiar figure showed up and the purple fox couldn't believe what he was seeing.
In front of him was Ally herself, or at least it was supposed to be. Instead of her spiky, blonde hair and casual attire, the green gerbil looked rather elegant and attractive for a change; her hair was now neat, tidy and curly, and she had on a long, red dress and a pair of glass slippers. Needless to say, Brian, as well as his friends, never expected Ally to show up in style.
'I don't know if Ally's doing this because she felt like it or she wanted to mess with him.' Mike thought.
"Wow, you actually look good." Brian remarked, much to Rhonda's annoyance.
"Smooth move." Rhonda muttered under his breath.
"Don't get the wrong idea. I'm only dressing up like this for the occasion. Anyway, let's go in and eat."
Before Brian knew what happened next, Ally grabbed him by the tail, yanking it rather painfully as she dragged the unfortunate boy to the restaurant, as Gumball and Darwin looked on with amusement.
"Brian sure knows how to make a lady happy." Gumball jokingly remarked.
"At least he led an exciting life." Darwin added, before the brothers snickered at their own joke.
"Knock it off, you guys." Rhonda angrily informed the duo, prompting them to stop snickering and look down at the ground in shame.
"Relax Rhonda... Mike began, trying to calm the irate mouse. "There's no way Brian would ever be interested in your cousin. You know he'll always have his eyes on you, even when this is over."
"...You're right Mike; I shouldn't have acted like that." Rhonda admitted, calming down a bit. "I just can't stand seeing Brian with another girl, even if it's only an act."
"Don't worry about it too much, Rhonda. It'll be over soon." Anais informed her friends. "Right now, we need to go inside and make sure we film everything for Alison."
"The sooner, the better." Rhonda stated, wanting the whole ordeal done.
"Ditto on that one." said Mike, before the five quietly went inside the Dump's Cave.
Although Brian expected a lot of people in the restaurant, he was surprised to find a few empty tables and after looking around for a moment, the purple fox found a particular spot just for him and Ally to sit, all the while allowing his friends to capture the whole thing on camera.
"Let's go to that spot." Brian suggested, pointing to the table at the center.
"Sure, lead the way." Ally bluntly spoke, as the two made their way to the table, with the green gerbil sitting facing towards the door, while Brian on the opposite end, allowing him to see his friends sitting just a few inches away from them, just as the waiter showed up at their table.
"Hello young man, how may I help you this fine evening?" he asked the purple fox with a strong, French accent.
"I'll have a few of these from the menu." Brian replied, before he looked at Ally.
"I'm having what he's having." Ally said to the waiter.
"Very well then; I shall return when your meals are ready."
With that, the waiter left the table and went into the kitchen, giving Brian a chance to have a chat with Ally.
"So Ally, tell me about yourself. What are your favorite TV shows? Better yet, what kind of hobbies do you enjoy?"
The green gerbil, however, didn't respond to his request straight away, no doubt thinking about what she'll be having for dinner, as Brian could only sigh in annoyance with Ally's indifference, unable to strike up a conversation with her.
Several minutes would eventually pass at the Dump's Cave before a few waiters arrived at Brian and Ally's table, carrying a few trays of the food they have just ordered. Not surprisingly underneath them were the usual meals, ranging from rotisserie chicken to salmon.
While Brian found the meals rather tempting, it was Ally who was entranced by the aroma and before both the purple fox and his friends knew what happened next, the green gerbil proceeded to devour one meal after another in an unlady-like manner, much to the disturbance and disgust of the patrons around them.
'Doesn't she know anything about table manners?' Brian thought, as Ally continued to eat like mad, ignoring the stares all over the restaurant. Eventually, the green gerbil stopped devouring her meal and noticed that the purple fox hadn't touched his food at all.
"How come you're not eating your food?"
"I'm...not feeling that hungry." Brian half-heartedly replied, deciding that it was best that the green gerbil didn't know the real reason for losing his appetite. "That and I was hoping we could just talk."
"Suit yourself." Ally casually spoke, before she grabbed the plate and quickly devoured it, before letting out a big belch, as Brian looked on with dismay.
'You could at least saved me one piece.'
"Anyway, what is that you want to talk about?" asked the green gerbil.
"Just a few honest questions..." Brian began. "One, why are you always so angry? Two, what's with the tendency to lash out at anyone? Finally, why are you so interested in me so suddenly?"
Ally looked at the purple fox, somewhat amazed that he would ask those kinds of questions. At the same time, Brian was also honest with them and if it would make him happy, the green gerbil decided to just answer his question.
"If you must know, I'm grouchy due to the fact that I have no clue as to where I am or how I even got here. The reason I tend to lash out is mainly because I don't warm up to anyone I barely know right away. As for the last question, I'm interested in you because you had guts to actually ask me out to dinner. But you're not the only one I find interesting," Ally's last statement confused Brian but the next statement flat out stunned him and the rest of his friends. "That badger friend of yours also seems to have won my attention."
"I'm surprised that you actually like Mike." Brian stated.
"To be honest, it's the first time I met someone my own age that actually was brave enough to take me on like that. It must have taken some bravado on his part to hold me down like that."
"Is that so?" asked Brian, realizing that he found one way to keep the green gerbil busy.
As Brian and Ally discussed with each other about her interest in Mike, the maroon badger, who continued to film the two, couldn't believe that the green gerbil actually liked him, leaving him quite uncomfortable with this, something that Gumball and Darwin noticed right away.
"You go tiger." Gumball remarked.
"Way to get yourself a girl." Darwin teased the maroon badger, before the brothers snickered.
"Don't forget, I know where you two live." Mike darkly commented, causing their snickering to stop but it didn't last long.
"She does seem your type." Rhonda joked, comparing the violent history that Mike had with others to Ally's, especially in today's events.
"Not you too." Mike said in disbelief, blushing with embarrassment.
"Don't worry, Mike, I'm sure everything would work out between you two." said Anais.
"You're not helping." the maroon badger spoke in annoyance.
While Gumball, Darwin, Anais and Rhonda continued to tease the maroon badger, Brian and Ally, meanwhile, were finally done talking about Mike, before the green gerbil locked eyes on the purple fox, much to his curiosity.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
"You know, the way you react kind of makes you look cute." Ally replied, leaving Brian quite nervous with the gerbil's response, while Rhonda was quite irritated to hear that from her cousin.
"She did not just say that." Rhonda then prepared to get up from her seat, before Gumball and Darwin held her down.
"Rhonda, calm down for just a moment. We're supposed to remain incognito." the blue feline reminded the mouse.
"If Ally finds out we're here, then the whole plan would be in ruins." Darwin pointed out.
Reluctantly, Rhonda relented and remained in her seat, forced to watch from her seat, as Brian spoke to the green gerbil once more.
"What do you plan to do when we're done here?"
"I don't know, why don't you ask your friends over there?" Ally asked the purple fox, before she turned around and saw Mike, Rhonda and the Watterson siblings behind her, much to their surprise.
"Um, you better hold this." Mike said to Darwin, handing the two-legged fish the camera, before making his way to the table where Brian and Ally are sitting at. "How did you know that we were here?"
Ally didn't respond right away and instead grabbed the maroon badger by the collar of his tuxedo, pressing their faces together.
"Let's just say it was a woman's intuition." the green gerbil sarcastically spoke, before her expression became quite serious. "That aside, what you did was rather rude and impersonal back there, especially when you're filming such a nice moment between me and Brian."
As soon as Ally made that statement, Rhonda eyes grew wide, both shock and outraged with what the green gerbil had said just now. How dare she make such a claim just like that! There was no way she was going to tolerate this one.
"That tears it!" Rhonda shouted, getting up from her seat, as she made her way towards the table, much to the shock of the Watterson siblings.
"Hang on to this." Darwin informed Anais, handing the child prodigy the camera, before him and Gumball dashed towards the mouse and grabbed her by the ankle, slowing her progress down.
"Rhonda, please stop what you're about to do." Gumball pleaded.
"You're only going to make the situation worse." Darwin insisted.
Rhonda, however, remained undaunted by the brothers' attempts, as the mouse eventually made her way to the table, prompting Ally to focus her attention on her cousin, much to her curiosity, all the while still holding Mike by the collar.
"Ally, you need to back off from my boyfriend if you know what's good for you!"
"Are you saying that you're challenging me?"
"Yeah, and I hope you take me up on it, unless you want word to spread that you are a total wuss."
Ally looked at her cousin, stunned to hear the mouse's last remark. But the look of surprise was soon replaced by anger and fury. The green gerbil couldn't believe that Rhonda, of all people, insulted her right in her face, especially in front of everyone.
As the enraged gerbil got up from her seat, Brian, along with his friends, realized that things were about to get really ugly, so Mike unclipped his tie to free himself while Gumball and Darwin let go of Rhonda's ankle. Brian also quickly got out of his seat, as the boys got out of harm's way, just as the girls looked at one another face-to-face.
"You want to take me on? Then you got it!" Ally shouted, before the green gerbil lunged right at Rhonda, as the cousins began brawling with one another.
Soon, the girls began to tumble from one area after another, scaring the patrons out of the Dump's Cave, damaging several tables and chairs and splattering food and drink everywhere in the process, as Gumball, Darwin, Anais, Brian and Mike watched on from the sideline, hiding behind one of the tables.
"This is completely crazy." Gumball commented.
"No kidding." Brian stated.
"We've got to do something." said Anais.
"How are we going to do that?" asked Darwin. "Both Rhonda and Ally looked determined to take each other out and if we try to intervene, we could end up getting hurt ourselves."
"Why don't we try actually breaking them up?" Mike spoke, before the maroon badger left his cover and cautiously approached the cousins from a safe distance. Mike grabbed Ally's arms while Gumball and Darwin restrained Rhonda.
'There's got to be something around here to end this, but what?' Brian pondered, before he noticed a pepper shaker right next to him...That's it! The solution to the problem was right in front of him.
Knowing what to do now, Brian grabbed the pepper shaker from the ground and left the sideline, much to his friend's curiosity.
"Brian, what are you doing?" asked Gumball.
"I'm going to end this once and for all." Brian replied, before he shook some pepper into his paw and blew them right towards Ally's face, causing her to sneeze. As expected, Ally reverted back to Alison, as the green gerbil looked at her new surroundings with confusion on her face.
"What am I doing here? Why do I feel so full?" she asked, before she looked at herself. "And why am I wearing this outfit?"
As the green gerbil tried to find the answer to her questions and Rhonda managed to regain her composure, Brian let out a sigh of relief, glad he was able to stop the girls from fighting. The same couldn't be said to the Dump's Cave, as the entire interior was destroyed in the chaos.
"This can't be good." Brian commented, before he heard someone kicking the kitchen door down and turned to see an enraged, older person staring right at them, no doubt the one person that ran the establishment.
"You crazy kids, you destroyed my restaurant!" The manager shouted, running in with a broom.
"Runaway!" Gumball shouted, as he and the rest of his friends fled from the scene as fast as they could.
Brian, along with his friends, made it to the Paxton residence pretty late, all of them tired and exhausted from fleeing from the Dump's Cave. All of them were just glad that they rid themselves of the enraged manager on their way back.
"Man, what a night." said Brian. "I don't want to go through something like that ever again."
"Tell me about it." Alison agreed. "Now, can anyone tell me what's going on?"
"I have the answer to that." Mike replied, before pulling out a camera. "But before I play the footage, promise us that you won't freak out or anything."
The green gerbil nodded her head, assuring her friends that she understood everything, before the maroon badger played the footage, allowing Alison to see what she was doing when she was Ally back at the Dump's Cave. After a few minutes of watching the video, the green gerbil looked at everyone with a look of astonishment.
"I have to admit, I'm surprised that someone like Ally is with me all the time. But at the same time, I understand why I don't recall anything in the first place."
"I'm glad you're handling the situation so well." Rhonda said to her cousin. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you about Ally before. I was just worried about how you would react."
"It's alright, Rhonda and honestly, I'm glad you showed me the footage." Alison assured her cousin. "Anyway, how do we inform Ally about my existence?"
Everyone pondered for a moment, trying to come up with a solution. Eventually, Anais spoke, as if she had found the answer.
"I think I got it! I just hope Ally will stick around long enough to hear us out."
After everyone agreed on what to do, Alison allowed Gumball to blow some pepper into her face, sneezing in the process, as Ally took her place. Needless to say, the green gerbil was hardly happy and attempted to lunge at the blue feline, prompting Mike to intervene and hold her arms behind her back.
"Let me go this instant so I can punch the daylights out of you!" Ally shouted, as the maroon badger restrained her as best as he can.
"Yeah, that's not happening." Mike spoke with defiance.
Brian, Rhonda and the Watterson siblings were taken aback by the gerbil's angry rant, as Ally continued to struggle with all of her might. Despite her outburst, the purple fox decided that she needed to know what was going on, praying that she wouldn't beat him up in the process.
"Ally…" Brian began, as the green gerbil turned her attention to the fox. "I know you're not in a good mood right now, but I want you to calm down for just a moment and watch this footage...please."
"...Fine, but you better not waste my time." Ally bluntly informed Brian, before the purple fox played the footage right in front of the irate gerbil, showing Alison from said footage.
"Ally, you may not know me, but my name is Alison. Believe it or not, you and I happen to share the same body. The reason why I have this video recorded is so I can let you know of my existence. I know it's not much, but I just want to clear a few things up regarding our situation. Please respond when you can and thank you."
Once the footage ended, Ally calmed down long enough for Mike to let her go, stunned and shocked by what she had just seen moments ago.
"Ally, are you alright?" asked Darwin.
"...Yeah, I'm fine." the green gerbil replied. "I'm just surprised that I shared the same body with a nerd. Yet, I couldn't help but feel bad that I might have put Alison in trouble all those years."
"That's why Alison wanted us to film her." Gumball began before Anais continued for him.
"She just wants to let you know that there were no hard feelings." Anais explained.
"Not to mention that you're not the only one." Brian insisted.
"Our point is that you need to be careful with her body." said Rhonda.
"That's why I chose to restrain you instead of fighting you, Ally." Mike added.
Ally was surprised to hear what everyone had to say, especially from the badger. Despite her behavior, they made every effort to help her out as best as they could and for the first time in her life, she was quite touched by this, as her face blushed bright red just thinking about it.
"Are you blushing?" Mike asked the gerbil, prompting Ally to fluster in response.
"It's just your figment of your imagination, stripes. I was just having a minor headache, that's all."
Everyone couldn't help but be amused by the green gerbil's reaction, but at the same time, felt relieved that Ally was grateful for their help. It was then that the green gerbil turned her attention to them once more, much to their curiosity.
"Is it alright if I borrow that camera? I have something important to do."
A few minutes later...
After allowing Brian to blow some pepper at her face, the green gerbil sneezed, reverting back to Alison, as she looked at her friends with curiosity and concern.
"So, how did everything go with Ally?"
"She took it rather well, Alison." Gumball replied. "Which reminds me, Ally made a recording just for you."
Gumball then approached the green gerbil and played the footage, as Alison watched Ally, wanting to know what she had to say.
"Hey Alison, this is Ally speaking. I just want you to know that everything is cool and I'm very grateful. From now on, I'll do my best to be careful whenever I take over your body. Until then, see ya."
With that, the footage ended and Alison looked at her friends with a smile on her face.
"I'm glad to know that Ally is on my side. Thank you so much for the help."
"Well, we're just happy that everything worked out fine in the end, even though things didn't turn out the way we had hoped." Brian happily said, with Rhonda, Mike and the Watterson siblings agreeing with him.
"I don't know about you guys, but I'm heading home and hitting the hay." Mike informed his friends, as he turned around to exit the house.
"Hold your horses, Mike..." Gumball began, grabbing the maroon badger by the shoulder. "You're not leaving so soon because of Ally, aren't you?"
"What makes you think I am?" Mike asked with suspicion.
"Come on Mike, Ally seems to enjoy talking about you." Brian noted, letting out a sly smile.
"You did make a good impression on her." Darwin teased the maroon badger.
"Knock it off already!" Mike demanded, his face slightly blushing.
"Don't be ashamed of it. There's no reason to deny it." Rhonda added.
"I know you two would certainly make a good couple." Anais jokingly suggested.
As the five continued to tease Mike with no end in sight, the six suddenly heard a loud sneeze right behind them, prompting everyone to turn and see that Alison had become Ally once more, as the green gerbil made her way to the group.
"I didn't know you like me that way, Mike." Ally slyly teased the maroon badger, causing everyone to snicker in response.
"When did you suddenly become aware when Alison was in control...?" Mike grumbled in annoyance, wanting the night to end as soon as possible. Ally just smiled.
