This one shot is based off Dragonfire Alchemist's idea. Ib makes a babysitter's error: letting the kid get out of sight. So of course things go wrong and Garry has to save the day.
Garry: Yay! I actually have an important part this time!
Oh quit whining! The title is named after you (somewhat). Anyways, please enjoy! I love all of your reviews and support. Please keep sending ideas and I will try to write them.
I don't own Ib.
Guardian Angel: Missing Child
If Ib had known she was going to play hide and seek in the park with the Chase kids, she would not have worn a skirt. Since the decision to go to the park was sudden, she had no chance to prepare.
Sydney and Billy Chase were easy enough to find, but Ib was having a difficult time finding Nick. "He should be around somewhere. You told us not to leave the park." Sydney piped up from where she was trailing behind the teenager.
"He should be." Ib repeated, "Your parents are going to get home soon and what will they do when they find the house empty? They won't hire me to babysit again."
The two children quieted, sensing Ib wasn't in a good mood. To be honest, Ib was worried. They started the game a little over 30 minutes ago and they had no idea where Nick was. Garry was concerned as well. After spending years around her, he would easily interpret her panic. He could see that she wasn't going to calm down until she had the kid in front of her.
Garry flapped his wings to gain altitude until he could see the entire park below. He spotted a small head of wild brown hair peek out from under a bench a distance away. Not far away from the bench was an approaching group of rowdy teenagers.
Garry floated back to the ground, knowing he had to move quickly to ensure the kid's safety. He couldn't exactly lead Ib the way he did when she was lost in the store. Inspiration his him when he noticed Billy Chase adjusting his cowboy hat on his head. Garry positioned himself to face the direction of the missing child before pulling his wings back and flapping them forward as hard as he could. The result was an unexpectedly strong wind that blew Billy's hat clean off his head.
As the angel expected, the boy chased after the hat with a yell. Not wanting to lose another child, Ib ran after him with Sydney struggling to keep up. Garry trailed behind them to make sure they kept going in the right direction.
He stopped creating breezes when they were close to the bench. Billy snatched up the hat and tied it under his chin. Ib glanced around the area and spotted the small boy under the bench. "I found you Nick. It's time to go home." Ib said in a stern voice. Even though she sounded bossy, she felt relieved. The lost child was back where he belonged.
