Chapter 51
John smiled as he held his little boy, Aiden, in his arms. Aiden was being super fussy and John had wanted to make sure that his little man didn't wake up his extremely exhausted mother. Kaylyn had been trying to make sure that John got plenty of rest and didn't get woken up or have to get up when the twins were screaming or needed to be fed or changed, especially in the middle of the night. Kaylyn had been worried because John was currently still active in wrestling and so they were on tour with the WWE and Kaylyn had been worried that if John was getting up with the twins, that he would end up so tired that he would be too slow or sloppy in the ring. She didn't want him to be tired when he had to wrestle, because that could result in a serious injury, and that was the last thing that they all needed.
John appreciated that his wife was trying to let him rest and to make sure that he was well rested and okay to wrestle during work days, but he could see how tired and out of it the whole situation was making her. She couldn't take care of newborn twins on her own, especially while they were on the road, because it made things for her way too difficult and it completely drained her. John had told her to go to bed and get some sleep and since then, he had been in charge of Aiden and Elizabeth, or Izzy, as he called his little princess from time to time.
"Come on little man, I know you aren't hungry because I just fed and changed you. Why are you so fussy today?" John murmured as he rocked his little boy and hoped that Aiden wouldn't wake his mother or his sister.
A few hours later, John was smiling as he finished changing his daughter and then he smiled wider when Kaylyn walked out of the bedroom and seemed more rested. He could see that Aiden was cuddled into his mother's arms and John frowned, he hadn't heard his son wake up or cry, and he had the baby monitor right next to him.
"Did he wake you?" John asked her as he finished dressing his little princess and then picked her up, cuddling with her in his arms.
"No, I was awake when I heard him wake up." Kaylyn said. "Thank you, I didn't even know how tired I was until just now when I realized how much better I felt after getting some uninterrupted sleep like that."
"I just want you to promise you won't keep trying to be super mom and do everything on your own anymore." John said as they sat down next to each other and both studied their precious miracles.
"I promise, I realize I am absolutely no good to anyone if all I do is run myself ragged and into the ground by thinking I can handle everything without any help. From now on I will remember to ask for help from you or anyone else, like my cousins. You know Stephanie asked me when she and Paul were going to get to baby sit the twins so we can have a night for just the two of us?" Kaylyn said as she kissed her son's forehead and realized he was not only wide awake but he was studying his mother, almost like he was listening to her voice and memorizing it.
"Well, I am sure we can let them watch the twins for a few hours next week or so. That way we can just go and have a quiet dinner, just the two of us. They are way too young to let them sleep over away from us and with someone else, even if that someone else is family and a mother herself. I know that both Stephanie and Paul would take very good care of the twins, but I don't think either of us would be able to concentrate or sleep if we let them stay overnight somewhere else." John said softly.
"I agree, I think we can let them babysit for a few hours, mainly because if we don't spend even just a few hours alone, just the two of us, then our marriage could suffer a little or we could make everything just about the twins and not about us and how much we love each other, there isn't a marriage alive that would be successful if it was all about the twins." Kaylyn said nervously, but she knew it was true.
He was getting more and more annoyed, because he knew that she wasn't getting his new letters. He had been trying to find a way to let her know that he was going to rescue her and the twins from her loveless and horrible marriage, but he couldn't get through to her. She didn't even seem to be thinking about him or how much they belonged together. He wasn't keen on raising someone else's brats, but if it meant he got to keep the woman he loved with him, then he would do whatever it took. He knew that eventually she would give him a lot of babies of his own, so he figured raising two fatherless brats wouldn't be a big deal.
He glanced down at his plan and wondered if he had made the right choice to make it look like the WWE had been negligent and caused the death of one of their superstars, on live television. He hated to think that the WWE could get into trouble or that something bad could happen, but he needed to do this for his own family and even if it meant that he lost the WWE world and his wrestling family, he would do whatever it took so that his own personal family would be his forever.
He winced at the thought of all of those children that watched the WWE and thinking about the horrible thing that they were going to see on Monday Night RAW when tragedy struck. He wondered if Kaylyn would pretend to be super devastated or if she would be able to let on how much she appreciated that he had done that for her, gotten her away from a man like John Cena.
Kaylyn couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. She knew that tonight was the night that John fought to be able to try and regain his title back, he needed to be the number one contender heading into the next pay per view, he needed to become champion again. She wasn't sure what it was that was on her mind, but she kept thinking that she shouldn't let her husband wrestle that night, that she should find a reason to make sure that he didn't enter the ring. She knew if he didn't it would be a while before he could try and fight for the title again, but she couldn't shake the feeling that if he wrestled that night, that he would never wrestle again.
"John, please don't go out there tonight. Let's just tell Steph that I need you with me, that I am not feeling well and I want you to come back with me and the twins." Kaylyn said, panic in her own voice.
"You know I can't do that, tonight is very important." John said with a gentle and yet loving smile.
"Please, I have a really bad feeling about tonight John, please don't go out there tonight." Kaylyn pleaded, she felt like she was begging for her own life.
"Baby, I have to…." John trailed off and looked at her and really looked at her. He could see nothing but sheer terror and panic in her eyes, she was very serious about being afraid of something. He frowned and tried to figure out what he should do. Should he wrestle that night against his wife's request? Or should he go back to the bus and then the hotel with his wife and infant twins and risk his title shot?
