A/N: Hello guys, I am back with another special chapter. If you don't know what today signifies, the title of the chapter will tell you. Honestly, I forgot about today, EVEN though I planned to do this weeks before. Anyway, the rules for this are basically the same as the first special chapter except the teams are fully complete. Kai never showed yet and the Jinkis haven't been explained; Chiho is still hospitalized, and the house hasn't been blown up. Now let's begin.
Ice Chronicles
Special Chapter 3: Anniversary
I stood in the kitchen, preparing breakfast for the long day ahead; but I had an enthusiastic smile across my lips. I was more joyous today, maybe even happier than Musubi usual is. My smile continued to grow with each passing second, but I had a perfectly good reason to be this happy. Today is a special day, one that changed my life forever. I worked hard in the kitchen with this breakfast, its divine aroma spreading throughout the dining and living room.
"Surprisingly, the girls haven't showed up yet," I told myself. As if on cue, a horde of footsteps began stampeding down the stairs, making me freeze in place.
"Never mind then."
I turned my back to see my eight beautiful sekirei smiling blissfully at the scrumptious aroma.
"Good morning girls; I was going to wake you when I finished, but now it's too late."
"Well with a smell this delicious, who wouldn't wake up?" Toyo asked.
"Hm, good point, but like I said, I'm not finished yet. I'll let you all know when it's done," I replied. A few groaned in disappointment and walked away with the others; however, Akitsu remained behind and kissed my cheek.
"Good morning Ren," she greeted. I smiled back at her.
"Morning Akitsu, did you sleep well last night?"
She nodded. "I managed to, even though thinking of today made me a little restless."
I couldn't help but snicker.
"So you know what today is too then."
Again, she nodded and rested her head and hands on my back.
"I do; and I'm glad you know as well."
"I would never forget such a significant day. I'll speak to you more about it when we're alone. For now, just relax," I told her. I felt her head nod and nuzzle my back as she let out a content sigh.
"Did you tell the others?"
"No," she said. "I didn't want them to cause you any hassle."
"Thank you, but I don't think it would be that much of a bother; we'll let them know after breakfast," I chuckled.
"Yes Ren," she responded. I finished cooking the girls' breakfast of pancakes, sausages, omelets, and toast. We all sat in the dining room and consumed our enchanting breakfast, the girls' moans of happiness filling the room. Akitsu and Toyotama started to feed me, but we had to deal with Tsukiumi and Musubi's jealousy. Luckily, they sat at the far end of the table so I was free to do what I wanted. I accepted their offers and offered mine in return. Toyo and Akitsu smiled happily, as we continued the routine. Once our delicious feast was over, I summoned the girls to the living while Akitsu tended to the dishes.
"So Ren, what's with this meeting; is something happening?" Matsu asked. I couldn't help but smile.
"Yes, something is happening today. You see, today marks a special day; it's one that changed my life forever. Now before I begin, I first want to say thank you girls for everything you've done for me. I appreciate and love every one of you with all my heart. I know it's hard to deal with having one guy to share with seven other women, but I'm glad that you're willing to do so. When I see all of you smiling so happily, I can't help but smile myself. All of your beautiful and enthralling smiles are what make every day great. You all have done so much for me, but I feel as though I haven't done enough for you. Every morning, the first I want to see are my eight beautiful wives sleeping peacefully beside me with their gorgeous smiles captivating my heart; and every night, I want to embrace all of you and give you the love that you desire. Nothing has ever made such a heavy impact on my life like you girls have; and I hope that no matter how dark the storm is, we'll all stay together to ride it out, for now, and forever."
The room turned to silence at my declaration. Mouths open agape, as a few covered theirs from the shock. No one could respond to my declaration, but Musubi was the first to burst into tears and hugged me tight. She buried her head in my chest and smiled with more happiness than she has ever exerted.
"Oh Ren; I…I don't know what to say."
I stroked the back of her head.
"You don't have to say anything Musubi, just know that I love you very much."
"I love you too Ren," she declared. Yomi and Toyo soon joined the embrace, but they didn't cry.
"They say actions speak louder than words, but this definitely beats action," Toyo said.
"You know just what to say to make my heart race," Yomi stated. The hug increased, as the rest completed the embrace. All eight of my sekirei graced me with their enticing smiles. Our hug lasted for a long time, but they went back to their seats afterwards.
"I'm glad that my words touched your hearts," I told them.
"Why did you say such things so suddenly?" Uzume asked.
"I just wanted to let you girls know how I feel. I know I tell you all the time that I love you, but I wanted to express it more; and what better way than with my way of words?" I chuckled back. "Now back to what I was saying before, today is a momentous day. Akitsu and I will be going out today to celebrate this day."
"Huh? What about us?" Toyo questioned.
"This day is only significant to us," I responded with Akitsu nodding in agreement.
"Really? What's the occasion?" Yomi asked. I smiled and wrapped my arm around Akitsu's shoulder.
"Today is the day Akitsu and I first met and my entrance into the sekirei plan."
Akitsu leaned her head on my shoulder.
"So basically your wedding anniversary," Matsu clarified.
"Yep," I nodded. Tsukiumi crossed her arms under her chest.
"I understand the importance of today so I as your true wife will allow this, but that means tomorrow is our anniversary."
Musubi bounced up and down.
"That means Matsu and I will have ours the day after tomorrow."
My brain type fixed her glasses with a devious smirk.
"Kukuku, that means I get to experiment on both human and sekirei; this is going the best day ever."
Everyone else began talking about their dates while Akitsu and I headed to my room to discuss the plans. We sat on the bed, her sitting on my lap, and resting against me. She wanted to discuss the plans, but I made it my mission to plan it out myself. I already had the entire day planned out since I knew it was coming up soon. I would not tell Akitsu what I planned out, making her pout cutely at me. I only chuckled and kissed her lips. I then kissed the crest on her forehead.
"I'm going to make today very special for you Akitsu."
"I can't wait," she said and kissed me again. Her lips were warm and smooth as they brushed against my own. I felt her nuzzle against me when my hands planted themselves on her waist. Moving my right hand up to the nape of her neck, I seized her lips once again with my own, only this kiss was more powerful and more passionate. I didn't want to break contact with her, feeling her hands move to ball themselves into my hair. Her lips parting this time to let me tongue explore her mouth and her own tongue feeling the pure pleasure of exploring my mouth as my hand searched the small of her back and into her hair. When we finally pulled free, a bright red blush appeared on her cheeks as her lips curled into a smile. With my hand in hers, I planted a sweet kiss on the back of it and then pulled her into a warm embrace.
We took a shower together and got ready for our date, but what Akitsu didn't see was the gift I got for her. The girls saw us off, and we headed out hand in hand. The first place we stopped at was the park where we first met. I took her to exact same area and saw the bench I found her sitting on.
"It's seems like it was only yesterday when we first met," she said. "Ever since we've been together, my life has been great."
"I know what you mean; it's all thanks to you that I've come so far," I replied. She stepped in front of me to hug me.
"It's all thanks to you Ren that I can experience love."
I returned her hug and kissed her head. We took a relaxing stroll through the park, reminiscing about the past. When we got on the subject of sex, both of us turned bright red. Akitsu only leaned her head on my arm.
"That night was also one of my favorites; the first time our hearts became one. I felt so much connected to you, but not only my bond, I felt more powerful as well. That night helped me realize that you and I will never be separated; we'll make sure of that."
I nodded. "We will. All nine of us will stay one big happy family."
I bent down to kiss her and held her closer to me.
"If any of you disappear, I won't be able to take it. I love you all; I love you Akitsu."
"I love you too Ren; I love you too," she declared. We continued our stroll until I escorted her to our next destination. It was just the two of us in a studio, where we danced to classical music. I helped guide her and twirled her around, making her spin majestically. I grasped her hands again and pulled her closer, spinning her around, and wrapping my arms around her waist. We swayed to the music, as I enjoyed the sweet scent emanating from Akitsu.
"Ren; I've never danced before, but I really loved it," she said.
"I'm glad you do. Shall we continue?" I asked back. She nodded and let me take her hands again. We went back to dancing, stepping back and forth, and then twirling. Our hands stayed together as we intertwined our fingers and kissed each other again.
"You dance so beautifully," I complimented. She blushed at my compliment and held my hand tighter.
"Thank you Ren, but it's you who guided me."
I chuckled and hugged her once more.
"I love spending time with you Ren," she tilted her head up and kissed my lips. "You know how to make everything so much fun."
"Well a man's job is to make sure their woman is happy," I smiled back at her. She returned it, and we started back dancing. Afterwards, I escorted her to the same restaurant I brought Tsukiumi for our wedding night. Like her sister, Akitsu was amazed at the décor and services. We had our meal and talked a little more about our adventures, sometimes laughing and smiling at the craziness.
"Ren, why did you run from Yomi that time? I forgot the reason," Akitsu said. I had to laugh at her response.
"Well what happened was; I was on my usual stroll. I was thinking about you, Tsukiumi, Musubi, and Matsu since you were my sekirei at that time. I didn't pay attention where I was walking and made a wrong turn. I ended up in a dead end instead so I just laughed at myself and proceeded to head home, but that's when Yomi dropped down. I wasn't focused on her per say, but more primarily her death scythe. The first thing that popped into my head was that she was a Shinigami and wanted to take my soul or whatever. She said don't be afraid, but that only scared me more. The moment I saw an opening, I took off back to our house. Sadly, I kept making wrong turns and couldn't escape her anymore; but I knew she was a sekirei who was reacting to me after I believe the second time I dodged her."
Akitsu giggled. "It's a good thing you noticed when you did. Otherwise, you would've kept running."
"Yeah, but now she's my cute scythe wielder," I said. "I also remember the time I got stuck on the roof because I wanted to give Kazehana and Uzume their gifts, but I was wrong about their location. I really thought they would be on the roof."
Akitsu giggled again. "I wanted to laugh, but I was thinking of what the rest would say about you climbing the house again."
"Hey, you have to admit that was an awesome jump from the second story," I brought up.
"You scared us all half to death," Akitsu pointed out.
"Point taken, but it was still awesome. Besides, I just can't do it in front of Uzume, Tsukiumi, and Yomi. I should actually do that again when I get the time," I suggested.
"Please don't; I'd rather not be scared like that again," she responded. I laughed at her.
"Okay, I won't do it."
"Thank you," she said.
"When you're not around," I quickly added. She glared at me.
"Ren."
I couldn't help but laugh. We finished our meal; I paid, and we left. Time flew by in an instant; the sun was already setting. I brought Akitsu to the hill that overlooked the city and saw her eyes expand at the gorgeous scenery.
"It's breathtaking isn't it?" I asked her. She nodded.
"It's beautiful."
I watched the scenery with her; the sunset was drinking what was left of a great day to quench its thirst before nightfall would rise, as it was relaxing over the hillside. The aura was a prism spectrum with blended edges of streaking color. It looked like someone had poured a mixture of orange and red over the sky. As the sun went lower, the sky became almost like a muted brown.
I reached into my pocket and pulled out my gift.
"Akitsu," I called out to her. I showed her the gift and heard a loud gasp escape her lips. She accepted the present and held it in her hands.
"This is my gift to you for our anniversary."
She opened the gift to reveal a black box. I took it for her and opened it up, causing her to gasp even louder. I could see tears forming in her eyes already, as she started at the diamond ring I picked out for her. I didn't have to say anything and placed it on the right finger. She admired the beauty and let her tears fall down her face.
"Ren…I don't…I don't know how to respond. Thank you so much," she hugged me tight. "But I'm sorry; I couldn't get you anything."
I hugged her tighter.
"It's okay Akitsu. All I need is you beside me. As long as you're here with me, I don't need anything else."
I cupped her cheeks and kissed her passionately. She returned my kiss and snaked her arms around my neck. When we pulled apart, we gazed into each other's eyes.
"Happy Anniversary; I love you."
A/N: And that does it for this special chapter. I'm sorry if it seems rushed; I should've remembered to do this. Anyway, it's really been one year since I started this story. It's my very first story; and I love each and every one of you. Thank you so much guys for all you've done, for all the support and ideas, and the reviews.
