I think I have an idea on where this is going... Not positive
Everyone was gathered around the holo-table, watching as the Nova opened up the dark, lead box that the helmet was transported in. As the lid flipped open, the Nova lifted up the gold dome, examining it with a critical eye for damage. Ward and Skye looked at it, speechless.
"It's beautiful..." Skye whispered, the first two words she spoke since breakfast. Ward had to agree, the helmet was impressive and beautiful, even though it looked exactly like Richard's helmet.
"Just like how I last saw it," Richard smiled softly, before placing it down on the holo table. Simmons and Fitz immediately go to examine it a bit more, being careful with Richard watching carefully.
"So now what," Ward asked, an edge in his voice. He looked at everyone, as their eyes turned to him, "We have the helmet, ok, but what about Luna? How do we find her? How do we get her back? Her cloaking necklace was among the wreckage, I doubt Skye still has a phone on her!"
No one answered, it seemed like none of them had a valid idea or method. Ward scowled, not at the silence but at the fear he felt coming from Luna, somewhere far away. She seemed so sad and scared, it practically swallowed him whole. It broke his heart, it made him so worried.
Richard spoke up,"There may be a way," He was looking directly at Ward afterwards. Everyone glanced between them both confused because he continued, "Luna's species is known to make mental connections with the people they love, their life partner, their mothers and fathers. Ward, do you feel emotions that aren't your own, emotions that belong to Luna?"
Ward looked everyone, Luna's secret felt extremely important and insignificant at the same time. He sighed and looked at everyone, "Ever since Luna grabbed my ankle, I've been able to feel her emotions. And I know she can feel mine."
"We can work with that," Fitz says, looking to Simmons. Simmons nods, "Her brain waves.. If your brain is connected to hers-" The scientist dissolved into scientific talking. Coulson quickly interrupted.
"Whatever you're thinking get to work on it, I don't want to waste a minute when it could bring us closer to Luna!" Coulson orders, the two scientist nodding. They turned, starting to get divulged completely in their work.
Its been two hours since FitzSimmons kicked everyone but Ward and Richard out of the lab. Richard would leave the lab now and then, only going in to help explain something alien related that Simmons needed clarification on. For safety, Coulson had taken the liberty of hiding the helmet in his office among all his Captain America collectibles.
Of course, that meant only Coulson and May were allowed to get to it, and that was putting a kink into Skye's plan. It was impossible to sneak in there when Coulson was making calls and playing with his toys. Skye sighed, waiting in the lounge and staring at the tablet, pretending to be interested. She had gone looking through all the games on it, looked up random things for entertainment, but she was still really bored.
So, when she heard Coulson exit his office, she was immediately on her feet and headed towards there. Skye glanced around, just briefly before she opened the door and closed it. The young woman immediately started searching through the office, tearing it apart. She tipped over the desk, discarded papers and chairs. She pried open cabinets, looking around in vain for the helmet.
And then, she found it. It was in a secret compartment inside the underneath section of Coulson's desk. It was hollow, and had a small little indent to grip like a handle. She slid it open, to find the gold dome sitting pristinely on top of the comics. Skye smiled, grabbing the helmet and quickly closing the panel, getting to her feet. She gripped the helmet tightly, like at any minute it would slip from her grasp. She had it, she finally had it.
Skye smiled excitedly, listening to the door carefully before sneaking out of the office, towards her bunk with the helmet.
Happy Yom Kippur! I'm sorry for the short chapter, I'm tired and taking it easy. I'm fasting this evening and into the morning. I realized I had to update this before episode three. So, I made sure to not type any other story but this one.
As for episode two, I like Mac, he understands Fitz. I also don't mind Hunter, yeah he shot May, Skye, and Trip, but I like that he had the guts to do it. It was to Avenge Hartley. Can we really blame him? But as for Skye, Raina and the Doctor, I'm rather worried and suspicious. And Simmons... WHAT WAS GOING ON IN THE EPISODE THREE PROMO?
But Yay! CHAPTER FIFTY! I'd like to thank you all for your support and patience. It's almost been a year since this has started! How awesome right? Let's see how far we can take this. Not to a hundred, but maybe somewhere close!
