Back at the Library (before the confrontation)

Jenkins – along with Arthur, Rowan, Khan and Lucifer - strolled through the back door with Arthur in the lead. The young King and his sister were in their black traveling leathers with their longer blades strapped to their backs and guns on their hips. Rowan was carrying her English longbow and a quiver of black arrows, each tipped with Emperium steel heads. Khan was in what looked like "Ninja" gear – loose leggings tucked into his boots, his katabira (jacket) made with armor hidden between layers of cloth, along with Shin and arm guards and his tenugui, a piece of cloth to wrap over his face. Only his eyes, cold dark pools, were visible. He carried a small bag holding the crystals they would use to set their various journeys in motion.

Jenkins stared in concern at the remains of the table and the books strewn around the room. "What happened here? Where are Mr. Flynn and Col. Baird?" He rushed to his desk, looking for anything to tell him what had happened while he was in the Fae realm. Atop a stack of books he found a message in Baird's careful handwriting, explaining they were going to Lux in search of Arthur and his sister and would be back soon. "Well –it seems they have all gone to Los Angeles to Lucifer's establishment. No mention at all of what happened her to motivate them to make this leap but I'm assuming the Archangel's inability to get past your locked gates motivated this display of anger. I can't imagine why Mr. Flynn or the Archangel would assume that Michael would have better luck reaching you lot from there since it had to be obvious where you had gone."

Lucifer shrugged, unconcerned. "Probably little brother had a temper tantrum and took it out on your furniture. Rational thought is not high on Michael's list of talents. Unless of course it pertains to a better battle strategy or a more efficient way to kill someone." He poked at the remnants of the table thoughtfully. "No blood – pity. Guess it was too much to hope for that Mikey might actually hurt himself during his tantrum."

Arthur rolled his eyes at the Devil's never-ending, insulting commentary about his sibling. "Little brother" he intoned, facing Khan. "You will need to get what you can from the Spirit of the Library on what direction we need to aim Michael so he gets back to where he was before. Don't let it tell you it doesn't know – knowing is what it was built to do."

"Got it" Khan replied, dropping his bag beside the back door globe. He sank down, cross-legged, his beads in his hand as he quietly sent out a message to the spirit of the Library, asking for its guidance.

"While he's doing that" Arthur said, turning to the others "I'll retrieve Excalibur."

"I'm still not convinced that attacking an angel of the Lord is the best solution in this case" Jenkins protested, resigned to the fact that his friend was no longer listening. "I know you don't want to hear this from me…"

"Then don't say it" Arthur growled, arms crossed as he glared back at his oldest friend.

"Gentlemen" Rowan took a stance between the two men, waving Lucifer off to the side. "Now is NOT the time to argue. We have a difficult enough task ahead of us without debating the merits of our plans. What we have planned will work – we just need to find the last few tidbits of information to bring the scheme together."

"I'm NOT debating" Jenkins huffed. "I'm trying to get this madman to see that attacking an angel with a magic sword is like lighting a firecracker and aiming it at a pile of explosives. The first action might not be all that dangerous but the second will certainly kill you."

"Won't kill me" Arthur replied, a cold grin on his face. "I LIKE fire."

Lucifer cleared his throat nosily, waiting till the others looked back at him. "Metatron is a royal pain in the ass, thinks much too highly of himself and was too much of a coward to even poke his nose out of the gates of the Silver City when I led my somewhat ill-thought out rebellion. Trust me – no one, not even Dad, will care what you do to him so long as they don't have to deal with him themselves."

Rowan sighed. "I hope you're right. Because going through this type of reboot again is not high on my bucket list." She turned and smiled at Jenkins. "Don't worry Galahad. I'll keep an eye on my brother for you."

"Who are you planning on keeping an eye on you?" Jenkins muttered, glaring at his old friend.

"Trust me, little brother" Arthur laughed. "I may keep her close when we are playing at being civilians but on the battle field she makes the Morrigan look tame."

Rowan gave her brother a lazy smile. "I thought you said I was a cross between Anut and Bast?"

"If Morrigan weren't a bloody crow I'd say you were her reborn. But you have too much of the feline in you. And way too over protective of everyone - father and I included. Anut was the Egyptian goddess who defended the Sun god and protected the King in battle – which is so you when your fighting along side me. And with all those bloody cats of yours some part of you had to come from Bast." Arthur grinned at his sister unrepentantly. "Besides – it was father that said you reminded him of the cat goddess – not me. And he should know – I swear she was one of his many "friends" before he married my mother."

"Your father bedded a goddess?" Lucifer enquired, intrigued. "Bloody good for him!"

Jenkins huffed and walked away.

"I think Galahad doesn't think we're taking this seriously enough" Rowan said, leaning against a wall.

"He should know better than that" Arthur replied. "I was always at my most irreverent right before a battle. Kept all the ugly truths of medieval warfare from overwhelming me." He closed his eyes and held out a hand, sending out a quiet command. From out of the depths of the library, Excalibur swooped in, dropping into his hand like a stone. "There you are" Arthur cooed. "Yes – I'm glad to see you too. Up for a hunt?"

'You're talking to your sword" Lucifer commented.

"So? It understands me. Probably better than some of those bloody felines of my sister's." Arthur reached behind him and pull Albion from its sheath, tucking Excalibur in its place. "As for you – I have a job for you."

Khan rose from his crouch, a cold smile on his face. "You were right – the Library's spirit did know more than it had been willing to admit. I've got coordinates for where we're going to have to launch Michael to get him back to Vega."

"Good. And by the way, little brother, take this" Arthur handed his Kings Sword off to the young monk. "The blades you're wearing are good for close-in work but I need you to have something to keep the monsters at bay. Albion will do for you what its always done for me – defend your hide and protect you from yourself."

Khan frowned, hefting the sword with one hand. "What are you planning on using?" He created fiery symbols in the air in front of him, fashioning a plain scabbord to put the long blade into before he slung it over his back.

"Excalibur will work with me this one last time. After this – Excalibur will belong to Mr. Flynn again, I will retrieve Albion from you and find a new sword for you to carry. Maybe one of Wayland's other blades will work for you. If we had time – I'd line them up for you but right now…"

"Right now we need to program that door" Rowan reminded them, waving at the globe.

Khan pulled out his bag of crystals and sang to them softly, imbuing each with the power to open a specific door into a particular place. Pulling open the globe he set them on the frame he had constructed when he had set the back door up to open into the Fae lands. Each crystal glowed eerily as they made the connection with the Library's power, each prepared to initiate the spell embedded in its depths.

"Galahad – time for you to do your thing." Rowan called out, gently moving Lucifer to stand in front of the door.

Jenkins bowed slightly, avoiding looking at the young King he had once served. "By your command lady. Let us by all means start this madness towards its eventual end."

Khan pointed to each crystal in turn. "Red sends Uncle here to Lux. Soon as he's through the door, pull it and green will take over, setting the door to open to Vega. I've set the spell to automatically recognize when someone's gone through the door and go dark so you shouldn't have to pull it right away. Once the green goes dark then black takes over – letting us know it's time for us to go through to the Loom. Once we're through blue will take over – opening the door back to the library for Flynn and the others. As soon as they are through pull all the crystals and smash them. That will ensure that no one will "accidently" get sent through to that alternate reality."

"How will you three get from the Loom to Vega?" Lucifer asked, curious.

"Getting there is easier from that part of the Ether – I can open a passage from the Loom to any alternate reality I need to. At least – that's what the Library says. From what Master Christoph found n Merlin's little library I think we can believe its words." Khan waved a hand over the crystals, starting the process. The Library's back door began to swing wildly, then opened, with the entrance into Lux visible beyond. "Here you go Uncle – have fun!"

"Oh, I will" Lucifer snarled as he stepped through. "I will."
