Best Friends -Chapter 50
~A Teen Wolf fan-fiction collaboration between Miss E Charlotte and Sage Londyn~
The next day, Avery parked her car in front of Teagan's house then reached over beside her to pick up the small soft-sided pet carrier that held her new little kitten. She never thought she would become a cat person, but the little black cat had quickly made her way into her heart.
"Ok Annabel Lee, you are about to meet my best friend and have your very first play date with Aspen." Avery said as she placed the strap of the carrier on her shoulder, then added quietly to herself, "I just hope he doesn't eat you as a snack."
She walked up to the front door then without even knocking opened the door and let herself in, which is something she had always done and they never minded. To them Avery was family and welcome anytime.
"Oh hey Avery, Teagan didn't mention you were stopping by today." Paul said, as he stood up from the couch and walked over to the younger girl.
"Hey Papa P." Avery said, causing him to chuckle, then added, "I thought I would drop by and surprise her. Plus I have a little friend for Aspen and wanted to introduce the two."
As if on cue, Aspen ran over to the blonde with his tail wagging, happy to see her. He sniffed at the carrier she was holding and barked, wanting to play with whatever was inside.
"What do you have there?" Paul asked, as he peeked inside the bag and smiled when he saw the tiny black cat.
"This is Annabel Lee. I just got her last night." Avery answered.
"I thought you hated cats." Paul pointed out. He remembered while the girls were growing up that Teagan was always the animal lover while Avery wasn't a big fan of them.
"I never really hated them, I just didn't like them too much, but I couldn't say no to her. She's just so cute." Avery said, as she looked at her new kitten.
"She is cute. Just don't let Teagan get attached. The last thing we need is another pet around here." Paul said with a laugh.
Avery chuckled and nodded her head, agreeing with him as she turned around and ran upstairs to Teagan's bedroom. Without knocking she opened the door and walked right in with Aspen following along behind her and saw Teagan sitting in the middle of her bed with a book in front of her on the bed as she pretended to read from it.
"Hey A! What's up?" Teagan said cheerfully, as she tried to catch her breath.
"Nothing." Avery answered slowly, as she looked over her friend, trying to figure out why she looked like she just got caught doing something bad.
"What's up with you, T?" She asked back.
"Nothing. Just you know, reading, expanding my mind." Teagan answered, as she held up the book in front of her.
"It's upside down T." Avery said back with a laugh.
"Oh. Right, I knew that." Teagan said, as she turned the book around the right way then sat it back down.
"Uh-huh. I know what's going on here." Avery said, as she sat the pet carrier down on the bed then walk over toward the closet.
"What are you doing?" Teagan asked, as she jumped up from the bed.
Avery didn't answer as she jerked the closet door open and looked inside, then turned back around with a surprised expression on her face as she said, "Huh, guess I was wrong. I just knew Isaac was going to be in the closet."
"I don't hide boys in closets. That's your thing." Teagan pointed out, reminding them both of the time Avery hid Derek in her closet.
"Well now I have a boy I don't need to hide in a closet." Avery said smiling, as she thought about Stiles and pushed Derek out of her mind.
"I'm assuming you're talking about Stiles and I can't wait to hear all about your date." Teagan said, then she reached out to grab Avery's arm as she added, "Let's go to the kitchen for a snack and you can tell me all about it."
"I'm not that hungry, plus I want to show you something." Avery said, as she pulled her arm away and stepped toward the bed, then added happily, "But first let me just say I had a amazing time with Stiles and believe it or not he actually kissed me and it was... it was nice. It was great even."
"Really? So there's going to be a second date?" Teagan asked with a smile, happy for the both of them.
"A second, a third and many many more." Avery answered, then added, "I mean I might not be getting love feelings for him the way you are for Isaac but I do really care for Stiles."
"I-I never said I love Isaac. We... I-I care for him, but I-I don't.." Teagan began to stutter.
"I know you've never said it, but come on T, I know you... and you are so falling in love with Isaac."
"Oh God." Teagan groaned, as she felt her face heat up at Avery's comment about Isaac.
"What is the matter with you?" Avery asked confused.
"Just shh.. stop talking." Teagan said, as she held up a hand, then with a sigh she called out, "Isaac, come on out."
Avery's mouth dropped open when she saw Isaac crawl out from under the bed. She gasped then pointed at him as she called out, "I knew it! I knew he was hiding somewhere in here. Between the upside down book, the bedhead and you being out of breath, I knew I just interrupted a make out session. But why hide it?"
"Well at first we didn't know who was coming up the stairs. I just assumed it was her dad." Isaac admitted.
"Yeah, someone needs to work on their werewolf hearing." Teagan teased him, as she wrapped an arm around him and leaned into his side.
"It's not my fault that someone was distracting me from listening." Isaac joked back, as he pulled her closer to him.
"You could have stopped kissing me at any moment." Teagan pointed out to him.
"Yeah, like I could actually do that." Isaac said with a smirk, as he leaned down to kiss Teagan.
"Ok you two are adorable, really just so precious and I for one am thrilled you two are together, but could you do that some other time and continue with the story." Avery said interrupting them, then added, "Why didn't you just tell me he was in here? It's not like I'm going to call the cops or anything."
"Well like he said, we thought it was dad coming up here but then you walked in and was so sure he was in here and I didn't want to prove you right so I wasn't going to tell you. At least not right now." Teagan explained.
"Ha! I love being right." Avery said happily, as she clapped her hands and did a little dance.
"See that's why I wasn't going to tell you." Teagan said with a laugh.
"You should have known you can't keep anything from me." Avery said laughing back, then added, "well since boyfriend is here, I'll come back later to give you the details. I remember what it was like to date a fugitive and how precious time is until you see each other again."
Teagan and Isaac glanced at each other, unsure what to say or do as a sad look crossed Avery's face and she looked down at the floor. But just like that, the look was gone and a smile was back on her face. Derek was in the past now and she had moved on. She was happy with her decision.
"Actually I need to be getting back to Der... I mean get back to hiding." Isaac said, almost slipping up and saying Derek's name. Which he figured was not a good thing right now.
"Yeah, I'm sure you have some training to do. Plus he who shall not be named would probably be mad if he knew you left again." Teagan added.
Avery chuckled then said, "You are too cute, seriously you are, but you don't have to tip toe around me and be afraid to say his name. I'm ok, really."
"Good, we're glad to hear that." Isaac said to her, then he looked down at Teagan as he said, "I'll see you soon."
Teagan nodded her head and smiled as she rose up on her tip toes to give him a gentle kiss. Then as much as he hated to do it, he ended the kiss and turned to walk away until Avery called out his name, causing him to turn back around to face her and see what she wanted. He was confused when she began to smile and held up one of her hands.
"Come on dude, don't leave me hanging. High five." Avery said, as she slapped her hand against one of his, then explained, "I never got to congratulate you on growing a pair and finally going after my bestie."
"Um thanks?" Isaac said back, confused on what he was really supposed to say back.
"You're welcome." Avery said smiling, then added, "See I told you it was a good idea to go after her. I knew you two would be cute together and I was right. Another thing I was right about."
"I was also right about what I said earlier too. About a certain someone falling." Avery teased, then said as she looked at Isaac, "I just hope you're there to catch her when she does fall."
"Ok that's enough out of you." Teagan said to her friend, as her face began to turn red again. She turned Isaac around and began to push him toward her window as she added ,"and it's time for you to go."
Isaac chuckled as he threw one leg out of the window then turned to look at her. He smiled at seeing her flushed cheeks and pushed a lock of hair behind her ear then said quietly for only her to hear, "Hey it's ok, no need to be embarrassed. Besides you're not the only one falling here."
Teagan grinned at his comment as she leaned into his hand and said, "Well don't worry, I'll be here to catch you."
Isaac smiled back then gave her a quick kiss before jumping out of her window and running away. Once he was gone from her view, she turned back around to face Avery with a smile on her face.
"I swear you two are perfect for each other." Avery said, happy for her friend.
Teagan giggled at the comment then opened her mouth to ask Avery about her date with Stiles, until she noticed the bag Avery carried in earlier and sat on her bed, began to move.
"Um, Avery? Why is your bag moving?" Teagan asked fearfully.
"It's not a bag. It's a pet carrier." Avery answered, as she walked over to the bag.
"Ok that answered nothing, just made me even more confused." Teagan said sarcastically, then added, "Why do you have a pet carrier? You don't have a pet."
"I do now." Avery said happily, as she reached into the carrier and pulled out the small black kitten.
"Oh my God! She is adorable." Teagan said, as she took the kitten out of her hands to hold her.
"Teagan meet Annabel Lee." Avery said, introducing the two.
"But wait, you hate cats." Teagan pointed out.
"Why does everyone keep saying that?" Avery wondered out loud.
"Um maybe cause you've said it." Teagan answered sarcastically.
"I never said I hated cats, just that I didn't like them. But this one, I love." Avery said, as she pet the kitten, who was still in Teagan's arms.
"Aw I want one." Teagan said, as she loved on the kitten.
"Sorry T, but your dad already said no more pets earlier. He wanted me to tell you that." Avery said.
"Aw." Teagan pouted, as she sat the kitten down on the floor.
The two watched as she walked over to one of Aspen's toys and began to knock it around and play with it. They watched for a few minutes longer, until Teagan turned to Avery and said, "I'm surprised your dad let you keep her."
"He couldn't say no either. She has super powers or something; it's hard to say no to her when she looks at you with those big green eyes." Avery said.
"I know what you mean. Anytime Aspen looks at me with those blue eyes and wants to go on a jog or wants one more treat, I can't say no." Teagan said back.
"Yeah it is hard. She is already spoiled." Avery said with a nod, agreeing with her.
"I'm still a little confused though. How did you even get a cat?" Teagan asked.
"Well Stiles almost hit her and then we had some car trouble so we went swimming." Avery began to explain.
"Wait.. swimming? Last night?" Teagan asked shocked, then added, "Avery it was freezing last night."
"I know, not one of my best ideas, but you know me. I like to grab life by the balls." Avery pointed out.
"Yeah but don't freeze your date's balls off in the process." Teagan added.
Avery chuckled then said, "Well anyway, then when we got ready to leave she was in my seat curled up and I tried to leave her behind but I just couldn't."
"Well I'm glad there's another pet around here. Aspen could use a friend." Teagan pointed out.
"That's what I was thinking. Since we are best friends, I figured our babies could be besties too." Avery said, then added, "and it looks like it was a good idea."
The two girls glanced over at the other side of the room and laughed when they saw the small black kitten curled up with the big white dog on the doggie bed, the two were fast asleep.
"Yep. Looks like they are the best of friends already." Teagan agreed with a smile on her face.

Monday morning, Teagan was walking down the hallway heading for her locker. She turned a corner and smiled when she saw Stiles at his locker grabbing the books he would need for class. With a smile still on her face she skipped over to him to stand behind him, taking him by surprise as she spoke up.
"So I hear you and a certain someone had an amazing time this weekend." She said.
"Jeez Teagan! Never sneak up on someone this early in the morning. Although I have to thank you, I now don't need any coffee to wake up." Stiles said, as he quickly turned around to face her. When what she said finally reached him, he grinned then said, "Wait, she had an amazing time? She actually said that?"
"Yeah she had a lot of fun." Teagan said smiling back, then she patted him on the back as she added, "You did good, Stiles."
"That was all her, I had no idea what I was doing." Stiles admitted.
"I thought you had this big super surprise plan that you couldn't tell." Teagan said, reminding him of what he told her days ago when she originally asked what his plans for the date were.
"Pfft when do I ever have a plan?" Stiles pointed out, then added, "I didn't have a secret plan. I didn't even have a plan. I mean, where do you even take a girl like Avery?"
"Stiles, if you were having that much trouble coming up with a plan you could have come to me. I would have helped." Teagan said with a friendly smile, then added, "Although now it doesn't matter cause like I said she had a great time."
Stiles grinned at her comment then said, "Well I'll come to you for help with the next date."
As Teagan nodded her head to tell him ok, he shut his locker door then paused as he added, "Wait, there is going to be another date right? I mean she made it seem like there would be, but I know you two tell each other everything so..."
"Yeah, I believe there will be a second date." Teagan said smiling.
"Yes!" Stiles cheered out, as he rushed forward to hug Teagan, then took a step back and said, "This day just got a whole lot better and nothing can bring me down."
Teagan opened her mouth to warn him not to jinx himself when they heard his cellphone ringing. He looked down to see that it was his dad calling him. He wondered what his dad wanted this early in the morning.
"I should take this." He said to Teagan, as he waved bye to her and began to walk away.
"Yeah I'll talk to you later." Teagan called out after him.
Once Stiles was gone, she turned around to walk down the hall toward her locker. When she heard her cellphone go off, she pulled it out of her purse and smiled when she saw she had a text from Isaac. She loved how just one simple text from him could make her whole day instantly better. She just wished she could see him more. The sneaking around was ok and she would take what she could get, but she wished they could see each other like a normal couple.
She was so lost in her own thoughts she didn't notice when someone reached out and grabbed her arm and pulled her inside an empty classroom.
She gasp in surprise and opened her mouth to scream until she noticed it was Isaac standing before her. She instantly smiled and went to say something, but before she could say a word, he pressed his lips against hers for a kiss.
As the kiss began to heat up, she wrapped her arms around his neck and felt him run his hands down her side and to her butt to lift her up. She wrapped her legs around his waist and felt him sit her down on the small desk in the back off the room. He kissed her for a few more minutes then broke the kiss to pull back and look at her. He smiled when he heard her heart racing and saw her took several deep breaths.
"Good morning." Isaac said softly, as he pushed a lock of her hair behind her ear.
"That... yep... that's a uh, good morning." Teagan breathed out, as she smiled at him.
Isaac chuckled at her stuttering, he loved taking her by surprise. He loved taking her breath away and making her heart race. He loved everything about her, but most importantly he loved that she was his. He still had to pinch himself sometimes about that fact. It was still hard to believe sometimes that Teagan Young, the girl he had been dreaming about forever, was actually giving him a chance.
"What are you thinking about?" Teagan asked him when she saw that he was deep in thought.
"Just you." Isaac answered, then he leaned forward to softly kiss her lips before adding, "and how lucky I am to have you."
"No, I'm the lucky one." Teagan said, as she wrapped her arms around his neck. Then she rested her forehead against his as she whispered, "I missed you."
"I missed you too." Isaac said, as he pulled her closer to him and captured her lips for another kiss.
The two kissed for a few moments until she remembered where they were, then she quickly pulled back with a gasp as she said, "Wait a minute, what are you doing here? I mean not that I'm not happy to see you, but this is school. Sneaking into my room is one thing, but this is a public place, a place where people could see you and call the cops and you could get locked up and I could lose you and I..."
"Shh... hey, it's ok." Isaac said interrupting her rambling.
"No, it's not ok. Isaac you cannot get caught, the cops will find out what you are and if they don't kill you then the hunters will." Teagan said, as tears filled her eyes at the thought of losing him.
"No it's ok cause the charges have been dropped." Isaac said, as he wiped the tears that had escaped from her eyes.
"What?" Teagan asked confused.
"Yeah, Jackson retracted his statement and all the charges against me have been dropped." Isaac explained.
"So no more hiding?" Teagan asked happily, she was glad they didn't have to sneak around anymore.
"Well I mean I still have to be careful cause of the whole werewolf thing but other than that yeah. No more hiding." Isaac answered.
"Isaac that's amazing." Teagan said with a smile, as she threw her arms around his neck to hugged him close to her.
Isaac hugged her back then pulled back some to look at her as he said, "Thank you."
"No need to thank me, I'm just happy the charges were finally dropped." Teagan said back.
"No I mean thank you for always believing me. You knew from the very beginning that I was innocent and I know your dad felt the same way too and that really means a lot to me so thank you." Isaac said sincerely.
"How did you..."
"I was uh, I was in your room the other day when you and your dad were talking." Isaac admitted shyly.
"Oh." Teagan said, then asked, "Well why didn't you stay then?"
"I don't know. I just... I'm not use to having people believe in me and when I heard that I just... I didn't know how to react." Isaac tried to explain.
"It's ok, but you better get used to it mister." Teagan teased, then added, "Cause I will always believe in you. I am always on your side."
"I think I can get use to that." Isaac said with a smile, as he leaned forward to softly kiss her lips.
"And I think I can get use to this jacket. My man is looking hot." Teagan said with a grin, as she grabbed a handful of the leather jacket he was wearing and pulled him back toward her for another kiss.
"You like that huh?" Isaac asked quietly, as he kept his lips inches from hers to tease her.
"Love it." Teagan said back, as she closed the small gap and pressed her lips against his for a heated kiss.
Isaac wrapped one arm around her back and brought her closer to him as he rested his other hand on the back of her head when she deepened the kiss. He let out a deep groan when she tangled her fingers in his hair and turned his head to the side to lightly suck on his neck. Feeling her soft lips against his skin was about to drive him crazy and not the good kind of crazy. The bad kind. The kind that caused him to shift and possibly hurt her again.
"Oh God." Isaac moaned, as she began to nibble on his ear.
The tightening in his pants became even more painful and he could feel the shift about to happen the more she kissed on him. He bit his bottom lip to hold back a growl as he heard her heavy breathing in his ear. He placed his hands against the wall, feeling his claws slide out as he softly called out her name, trying to get her attention.
"Isaac? Is everything ok?" Teagan asked him, when she heard him say her name.
"N-no. I.. y-you got stop or I'm gonna ... " He began to stutter, as he tried to get control of himself.
"I'm sorry, Isaac, I am so sorry I forgot." Teagan said, feeling bad for making him lose control again.
Isaac shook his head as he took a deep breath, willing his heart rate to slow down, then said, "it's not your fault. I just- I want you so bad but I can't.."
"Hey, it's ok. You don't have to explain." Teagan said, as she rested her hands on either side of his face and forced him to look at her as she added, "We just need to slow down until you can control it better and you will Isaac. You will be able to control it."
"Cause you just did." She added with a smile, as she saw his face shift back to normal right before her eyes.
"It was all you. You calm me down." Isaac pointed out, as he rested his hands on her sides, just needing to be in contact with her and touch her.
"Um no. I almost made you wolf out. I am bad for you, you should probably just dump me now and run far away from me." Teagan joked.
Isaac chuckled as he shook his head then said, "You're perfect for me. I would be worse off without you."
He leaned forward and rest his forehead against hers then added, "Besides, you know I would never run from you."
She smiled at his words as she wrapped her arms around his neck then said, "God, I am so glad the charges are dropped and you are back now. It was Hell being away from you so much."
"I know what you mean." Isaac said, agreeing with her.
Teagan pulled back a little to look at him then said, "I just can't believe it was Jackson who actually helped you. I'm sure you already know this, so it's not a big surprise, but I know he's not your biggest fan. He kind of sorta hates you."
"Let's just say we had a little chat and he decided to help." Isaac said vaguely, as he leaned forward to kiss her.
Teagan leaned back and held up a hand to stop him as she said, "Wait, let's say more. You talked to Jackson? When?"
"Recently." Isaac answered. He had no plans of telling her what actually happened until she shot him a look, causing him to sigh as he added, "Derek thought he could be the Kanima but he passed the test."
"Why would he think it was Jackson?" Teagan asked confused, but before Isaac could answer the answer hit her. She gasp in surprise and placed a hand over her mouth when she realized what had happened. Jackson had gotten the bite.
"Oh my God! Why? Why would he do that?" Teagan wondered out loud, as she lightly pushed Isaac back so she could jump down from the desk.
"Where are you going?" Isaac asked, confused when he saw her walk toward the door.
"I got to talk to him before he does something else stupid." Teagan snapped, as she jerked the door open and walked out into the hall as she looked for Jackson to give him a piece of her mind.
