I originally posted this chapter, but pulled it down an hour later because it wasn't ready. Wording, grammar and spelling was waaaay off and I didn't want to put it up that way. So I'm sorry to everyone who got the first email for the chapter update and it wasn't there.

I also hope you guys enjoy this chapter. I know I promised the team, and they are coming, but this scene is a little more drawn out than I expected.

-Chapter 48-

"Summer Nights Part 2"

"So when do we get started on our baby making project?" Eric asked, sneaking and lacing his arms around Calleigh's waist. He pressed a kiss to her neck.

Calleigh bit her lip and closed her eyes as Eric's cool lips made contact with her skin. His timing was way off as she was currently seasoning chicken for the grill and cutting vegetables for the side dishes. It was a little past two o'clock and she wanted to have everything ready by five o'clock when their guests arrived. "Will you control yourself until tonight?" Calleigh complained jokingly. She pushed against Eric but he didn't budge.

Eric tightened his grip and smiled as Calleigh tried to get him off of her. He added a swirl of his tongue to her neck, knowing it would drive her crazy. He moved up to her ear and kissed it. "Remember, you said tonight," he whispered seductively. Eric unlaced his fingers and ran his hand across her waist and down her hips.

A chill ran down Calleigh's spine and she bit her lip, moaning slightly. She was on fire and very turned on. Eric was making it very easy for her to give into him and abandon her hostess duties. She turned to face Eric, but Horatio had caught her attention. Calleigh felt her cheeks grow hot at knowing that Horatio had probably seen everything. Still, she tried to be cool. "Horatio. Hey."

Eric, thinking that was Calleigh's ploy to get him away from her, stepped closer, effectively locking her against the counter with his body. He smiled in a cocky way and planted kisses along her jawline.

"Eric…" Calleigh said, pushing against his arms. He was making it very difficult to do, but she didn't want to be seduced in front of Horatio. "Horatio's actually here."

Eric looked in Calleigh's eyes and realized that she wasn't lying. He turned around to face Horatio, wondering how much he'd seen. "H…"

"I uh…" Horatio said, stammering awkwardly and looking away. He drew his lips in a tight line and sat a bag on the counter top. "I brought burgers and hotdogs for the kids and steak and chicken for the adults…or anyone who wants to eat it. I know there will be a lot of little kids here…" He looked at his two oldest friends, who seemed slightly embarrassed that he walked in while they were having their moment. "I know I'm early, just thought I'd help out. Landon let me in."

Calleigh rubbed her lips together as she tried to ward off the smile that was a result of Horatio's awkwardness. Though it was a rare occurrence, it was funny. "Thanks, Horatio." She looked at Eric. "I'll go check on the kids." She left quickly, leaving Eric and Horatio in the kitchen.

Eric caught on to what Calleigh had done and couldn't believe she would leave him to face Horatio alone. He chuckled to himself. He would get her back later. "Thanks, Horatio," Eric repeated Calleigh's words. "I have some beer marinated beef kabobs for the grill…we can work on that if you want."

"That'll be nice," Horatio said, watching as Eric went to the refrigerator and pulled out a tray of skewered meat and vegetables. In his other hand, Eric had two bottles of beer, one which he handed to Horatio.

"Let's get the party started," Eric said, taking the tray of kabobs out to the porch.

Just as she was heading up the stairs, the doorbell rang. Calleigh turned back around and glanced at the clock, noting the time at only two-thirty. Their party didn't start until five o'clock but it seemed like all of their guest had decided to show up early. Calleigh opened the door, gasping in confusion at the person on the other side. Even though she had no problems with the kids inviting their friends, she wished she'd known in advance. "Can I help you?"

Craig, who Calleigh knew as Jayden's boyfriend, shifted his weight from one foot to the other nervously. "Hi, Mrs. Delko. May I talk to Jayden?"

Calleigh looked at him. "It's not really a good time…"

"I know," Craig said, quickly, "and I'm sorry for stopping by unannounced…I just wanted to check on her and make sure she's okay."

Calleigh raised her eyebrows. "Is something wrong?"

"I don't know," Craig said.

One of Calleigh's pet peeves were being told "I don't know" and she crossed her arms disapprovingly. She knew something was going on. Jayden was being too secretive and now her boyfriend was at their house to check on Jayden but he didn't know why. Calleigh looked at him. "There must be a reason why you're here." She raised her eyebrows to him.

Craig looked away as he couldn't take Calleigh's stare. It was intimidating. He looked at the door, realizing he wasn't going to be able to talk to Jayden unless he had a good enough reason. He sighed. "I don't know…Landon texted me."

Confusion spread across Calleigh's face. "Are you here for Jayden or Landon?"

"I am…" Craig started nervously. He let out a sigh and looked at Calleigh. "It's okay. I'm sorry for bothering you. Enjoy the rest of your day." He started walking off.

"Wait," Calleigh said, before she had time to process what she was thinking. She let out a sigh. She needed to find out what was going on with Jayden and he may be able to help. She opened the door to invite him inside. "I'll get her."

"Thank you, Mrs. Delko," Craig said, sitting on the couch.

Calleigh nodded her head and gave a tight smile. She called out to Eric to let him know that they had guest. Once Eric and Horatio were back in the house, she went upstairs to get Jayden. Just as she made it to the second floor landing, Calleigh heard Landon's voice.

"…maybe you should tell her," Landon said. "I mean at this point, Momma already knows something is going on."

That was all it took for Calleigh. Landon's words were confirming her thoughts and she decided she would get to the bottom of whatever was going on right now. Even though she tried her best to give her kids privacy, she didn't care about that right now. Calleigh was in Jayden's room and looking at Landon. "Hey, I need to talk to Jayden right now." Calleigh watched as Landon left the room before closing the door.

Jayden frowned at the gesture. Even though the words weren't spoken, she took it to mean that her mom would not leave the room without answers.

Calleigh sighed and ran a hand through her hair. She took a seat on Jayden's bed and faced her. "Why won't you talk to me?"

"I do…" Jayden started.

"No you don't," Calleigh chided.

Jayden swallowed, the lump of hurt already forming in her throat. Her feelings were hurt. She bit her bottom lip as her eyes began to sting with tears. "I'm sorry…"

Calleigh sighed. "Jade, I'm not trying to make you cry. I just want you to talk to me. Remember our conversation over vacation and I explained how I didn't want us to have secrets? When I was a teenager, I didn't have my mother to talk to. No matter what I went through, she didn't want to talk to me and there were times when I really needed to talk to her. I don't ever want you to feel like you can't talk to me. Good or bad, I just want to know what's going on with you."

Jayden nodded her head and exhaled. "I know," she said, looking down at her comforter. It was hard to talk about.

"I'm your mother," Calleigh said, sensing Jayden's hesitation. "If it's something you can talk to everyone else about, you should be able to talk to me about it too…" It dawned on her why Jayden didn't want to talk to her and Calleigh's lips parted in shock. Jayden didn't want to tell her about it because she'd lost her virginity. That's why her boyfriend had showed up to check on her. She would kill him and after she was done, Eric would have a go too.

Jayden saw her mother's facial expression change. "I…I…Tristian, he's in the theatre program with me. Lately he's been offending me by saying sexual things to me and staring at me in an intimate way. I did what you said by not letting him intimidate me but he keeps saying things that reference to sex…" Her mother's expressions were making her nervous. "I'm not doing it..." Jayden said, shaking her head.

Calleigh's lips parted in shock as she immediately knew what was going on. She'd experienced it herself from the officers at MDPD…one of the reasons why she rarely visited the department. She looked at Jayden. "How long has this been going on?"

Jayden's hand ran up and down her arm. She knew she was in trouble. "Since two weeks ago…" she couldn't take it anymore and started crying. "I'm sorry, please don't be mad at me. I know I should've told you but you already told me what to do and I didn't want to be weak…"

Calleigh wrapped her arms around Jayden. "Shhh, you're not in trouble. You did nothing wrong. In fact, I think it's great that you've handled it so far…" she bit her lip. "I just can't believe this is happening at the university and no one knows about it."

Jayden squeezed her eyes shut to rid them of tears. "He's doing it when we're on break…I tried to handle it."

Calleigh studied Jayden for a moment before speaking. "I know you're independent and you like to handle your own problems and that's great. I love that you're a problem solver. But, sweetie, if what you're telling is what he's doing…" she shook her head. "…then he's harassing you. It's sexual harassment to be exact."

Jayden lips parted in shock and she shook her head. Her mother must've misunderstood her. "Momma, he's not touching me."

Calleigh bit her lip and looked at Jayden. She never really had a conversation with Jayden about sex other than when Jayden had gotten her first menstrual. As with any parent, the topic was uncomfortable, but seeing that her lack of conversation had led Jayden to some misguided views about sex and it's offenses, Calleigh took it personal and understood she had to start talking about it whether she was ready or not.

Jayden looked at her mother's face and knew she was in deep thought. The familiar warmth crept up her back and tears stung her eyes.

Calleigh let out a breath of air and grabbed Jayden's hand. "Sweetie, sexual harassment isn't always physical. Making sexually suggestive comments or gestures, especially when it's unwanted is sexual harassment. If it's something that's offensive and making you uncomfortable then it's…" She sighed. "The reason I'm bringing this up is because it's important that you understand the difference between flirting and…that."

Jayden crossed her arms across her chest as she felt goosebumps flare on her body. She felt violated and used and cried because of it.

"Honey…" Calleigh said in a comforting tone. She waited until Jayden calmed down before speaking again. "Sometimes people cross the line between compliments and flirting to being downright sexually offensive. You don't ever have to take it. If you ever feel offended by something someone says to you, tell someone, okay?"

Jayden sniffed. "So what do I do now?"

Calleigh rubbed Jayden's shoulders. "Your dad and I will take care of it." She wiped a tear away from Jayden's cheek and tilted her chin so that Jayden could look in her eyes. "If you ever have a problem that is beyond your control, please come to us. We're never too busy for you or Landon, okay?"

Jayden nodded her head again. "Momma, I didn't know it was sexual harassment."

"I know and I should have talked to you about things like that before." She let out a breath of air. "So speaking of…I think it's time we talk about sex."

Jayden turned away. She didn't want to talk about it. It was embarrassing. "I'm not doing it."

"Well that's great to know," Calleigh said, grateful to hear that. She rubbed her lips together. "But eventually you're going to want to and I just want to make sure you know about it, what to expect and how to protect yourself."

Jayden nodded. "Okay."

I'm hoping to have the new chapter with the team midweek, if not, then next weekend...I already know what I'm writing about.

I hope you guys enjoyed. x
