Okay, Since these chapters are so short, I'll try for two more xDDD

Enjoy~~~

Mav POV~

Ren is here, Ren is here, Ren is here… FUCK. What the hell am I supposed to do now?! I can't keep everyone away from that sociopath! I smiled at Ani and Mal as if I wasn't mentally breaking down as the minutes ticked by. This was not good, I couldn't keep everyone safe. I couldn't even keep myself safe half the time, who was I kidding?

"So where are we going exactly?" Ani asked, her voice lowered, but still loud to my ears. I heard the faint echo of a step down the hallway, and my heart leapt into my throat. Was that Ren? Who keeps walking? Wait, everyone walks. I repressed a sigh, this was really not good for my anxiety levels, I could see it now.

I wonder if Mal would approve of me bashing his face in with my "brass" knuckles? Leave a nice iron burn. That would feel great, putting him in his place.

"Mav?" Mallie brushed up against my side, hand on my shoulder. "Is everything okay? Are you sure you're okay?" Her voice held concern, which made me flinch. Obviously, she was able to read me like a book even though my glamour was currently hidden.

My glamour was always hidden from others, I always made it seem like I learned that back at camp, but no. I've been doing this for as long as I could remember. I begun walling up my emotions since before I ran away. Since before Ren even started hurting me.

"It's fine, Mal, don't worry about me." I said calmly. "I'm just thinking."

Mal didn't answer, but I could tell she didn't buy this one bit. I just sighed, sometimes, it was so hard hiding things from her. Others? Not so much. I didn't trust many people enough to have issues with that. With Daddy on the other hand... I didn't hide much of anything from him. Hell, I called the guy 'Daddy' and much as I was loath to admit it, but I would rather be his son than my own father's son.

Hey, what did you think? I thought of him romantically? That'd be awkward as hell.

"So if you're fine, would you care to enlighten us on where our destination is?"

I closed my eyes, I had no idea where the hell I was going, I just needed to walk. "I don't know. I'm going mostly on scent."

Mal pulled me to a halt and turned me around. She smiled at me warmly. "I kind of figured."

We stared at each other for a time, then I looked away. "Where do you think we should go?"

I was probably the weirdest squad leader in camp. I didn't order my team around like the other assholes, in fact, I usually let them order me around a bit. We were all equal parts of a unit. We just told everyone I was leader so they would shut up. Plus it technically was 'my leadership rule' that decreed that everyone had a say in our activities.

Even if Blade acted like he was God reborn half the time.

"We should check the... " Mal trailed off, then started and sniffed. She laughed in glee. "I smell him, he's close! Come on!" Then she darted past me, grabbing my hand on the way by.

I was spun around forcefully and tugged after her, but all I really cared about was that she dragged me around like a lunatic and not someone else. I smiled a bit, she makes things right in my life.

I heard Ani puff in exasperation behind us, and Mal laughed aloud, clearly hearing the other girl's annoyance as well. "She sounds like Blade without the insults." I said with a grin. It was true, Blade was always being left to sprint after us when we caught a trail he didn't.

Well I always told him smelling was just as important as seeing, he just didn't care enough to train the sense.

We weaved our way down the corridors, and by this time I was on the trail too. Ani was probably so confused! It's kind of funny, actually.

We came to a pair of double doors, and skidded to a halt. Literally, I stopped so abruptly that I skidded a couple feet. Ani bumped into me from behind with a startled squeak, and pulled back so fast it was humorous. I'm Taken, not lit on fire. Why do people act so weird about these things? Mal doesn't care, she literally dropped me on Ani's head and I somehow really doubt it was as accidental as she made it seem. Especially given as she was laughing her head off before she came down to greet Ani.

Mal pushed the doors open just as a female redcap came barreling through with a terrified squeal. Her eyes widened, her lips parted, and a scream escaped her. "PRINCESS ANI PLEASE HELP ME!" She began hyperventilating and madly pointing back in the room. "Red hair- Dishtowel- prisoner- threatened- ahhh…." She wobbled and collapsed.

Wow. No wonder there aren't any well known female redcaps. I bet the males try to eat them.

I glanced back at Ani. "Did you understand any of that?"

Ani paused in thought, then a… very unwintery squeal of delight escaped her. She shoved past us and hopped over the unconscious redcap, not even sparing her a cursory glance. "Puck?" She called. "Are you in here?"

She jogged into the room without a second glance behind her, leaving me and Mal to do damage control. I looked down at the lump at my feet. "Do we burn it?"

Mal laughed, fully getting that I was just joking. "No!" She bent over and scooped the redcap up. "We clearly need to lock her in a closet. Help me find one."

I smiled, completely hearing the seriousness in her voice. "Sure," Then I entered the room with her right on my heels.

haha I wonder if people are still gonna read this stuff? I'm so inconsistent in my posting. Plus rereading the first chapter makes me realize why I don't have many viewers past it xDDD bleheh, it made me want to cry from my lack of vocabulary and general writing skill (I hope I'm better, I don't make your eyes bleed, do I? xD)
