Finally, a new chapter! (believe me guys, I'm trying to become better at updating sooner, but I'm busy and also very lazy at the same time. Remember the good old days when I would update like, once a week? Sometimes even twice a week? *cries*)

I know this chapter is shorter than usual, but TRUST ME THIS ONE IS IMPORTANT!

Elsa didn't dream at all last night, but when she was abruptly pulled awake from her sleep, she felt the remnants of an unrecognized nightmare on her skin.

She looked down at her side, and saw Oliver sleeping quietly next to her. Her son looked so peaceful. Elsa envied him.

She woke up before sunrise, and decided to make herself busy. She didn't know what time she woke up, but it was certainly still dark out. After tidying up the kitchen, she noticed that the sun was starting to rise. A strip of sunlight entered through the window, and for some reason, it made Elsa's heart ache. Quietly, she sat by the window and opened up the curtains, allowing the orange hues of light to enter the living room. Elsa breathed in deeply; she missed Arendelle so much. It kills her to know what she has done. To know that she, the Queen, had left her kingdom and people without a single explanation, made her chest burn with guilt.

But at the same time, she knew that the heartache is unavoidable. She had to leave. There was no other choice.

After brewing up a cup of plain tea, Elsa sat through the morning's serenity for an hour, doing nothing but stare out the window as a thousand thoughts penetrated her mind.

When will all of this be over?

When will all of this end?

Elsa didn't realize that she was capable of staying in one spot for so long until she glanced at the old clock in the corner of the room. It read 10 am. She has been sitting here for hours. The mug of tea that she held in her hands was untouched and the liquid was now cold. She let out a big sigh before placing the mug on the coffee table in front of her before curling back up on the couch.

"Good morning, sis,"

Elsa looked up and saw Anna and Kristoff enter the living room. It has only been a week since they had left Arendelle, and Elsa was grateful that Anna and Kristoff were both by her side throughout everything. Although leaving Arendelle was a huge sacrifice for all of them, Anna nor Kristoff complained. Elsa had to admit, life outside of her castle was something she was still getting used to; she was raised in a castle her entire life, however Oliver, Anna and Kristoff all adjusted to this small, plain, ordinary little cottage fairly easily.

The Queen smiled gently. "Good morning. Did you both sleep well?"

Anna nodded as she took a seat beside her sister. "Can't say the same about you though, Elsa."

Elsa sighed. "Do I look that tired?"

"Kinda. Want me to make you a cup of coffee?" asked Kristoff.

Elsa shook her head. "No, that's alright. I made myself some tea earlier, but I guess I'm just not in the mood to drink anything right now."

Anna frowned. "You look exhausted, Elsa. I know you're immortal and don't need to sleep, but you should get some rest. A small nap or something wouldn't hurt."

For the first time in a long time, Elsa wished that she was mortal again - a normal, dying human being who wasn't stuck in this frozen, immortal lifestyle for the rest of eternity. She wished she could remember what it was like to have a good, decent sleep. She wished she could remember what it was like to feel so sleep deprived after days and days of oversea meetings that she could just fall asleep anywhere. She wished she could remember what it was like to wake up and feel like things were going the way they were supposed to.

But she will never feel that again.

She has been immortal for a year now, but it was something that Elsa still had to remind herself over and over again. This isn't some crazy dream. This is her life now.

"No, I'm fine, I promise. Besides, I should probably make some breakfast for Oliver. He should be waking up soon," said Elsa.

Oliver was still in a deep sleep, still curled up on his mother's bed surrounded by pillows and tucked away gently in a soft cotton blanket. Since the young toddler was alone in the room, and since Elsa, Anna and Kristoff were all in the living room, no one was aware that the window to Elsa's bedroom had slowly opened on its own.

Oliver's nose twitched as he felt something cold touch it. He tried rubbing it away but the coldness kept on tickling the tip of his nose. Oliver slowly woke up, revealing his bright blue eyes and gasped when he found himself face to face with an adorable little bunny made completely out of snow. The bunny's snowy coat glistened against the sun. Oliver sat up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and smiled when the little snow bunny just sat there, staring right back at him.

Oliver looked at his fingers, wondering if his powers had done this, before looking around the room for his mother.

"Mama?" Oliver called out gently.

The snow bunny nuzzled its nose against Oliver's knee, and the little boy couldn't help but giggle. The bunny then jumped around the room, leaving tiny footprints of snow against the walls and windows before returning to its spot in front of Oliver once more. Oliver laughed excitedly as he reached out to pet the bunny's head.

This reminded him of his Uncle Bunny, which mean that maybe his Aunt Tooth, Uncle Sandy and Grandpa North are here too? Oliver smiled that big, cheeky smile of his as he watched the bunny hop up and down on the bed.

The snow bunny leaped off of the bed and prompted Oliver to come follow it. The little boy laughed as he crawled out of bed, still clad in his footie pajamas, before running after the bunny. The bedroom door magically opened on its own, and the bunny jumped out of the room, with Oliver close on its tail. Oliver stopped when he heard his mother's voice, along with his Aunt Anna and Uncle Kristoff's voices, coming from the kitchen. Oliver was about to turn the other way and make his way towards Elsa, before the snow bunny jumped in front of him, distracted him, and wiggled its little white nose to capture all of Oliver's attention once more.

The snow bunny hopped through the hallways until it got to the front of the house. The front door opened on its own, and the bunny leaped outside into the front yard.

Oliver followed close, unaware that the door had closed shut right behind him.

Oliver giggled as he watched the bunny come to a stop. Oliver was about to reach out and touch the bunny's head before he noticed the bunny's white coat slowly turning black. The snow was slowly disintegrating until the snow was turning into sand. Oliver's eyes widened as he looked around, wondering where the bunny had gone off to.

Then, as the snow bunny was destroyed right in front of Oliver's very eyes, a dark shadow loomed upon the young Prince.

Oliver looked up.

Elsa almost dropped her cup and shattered it on the floor when she heard her son's cry for help.

"Oliver!" Elsa sprung up off the couch faster than lightning before running towards her bedroom.

She flung the door open and felt her heart sink to the pit of her stomach when she realized that her baby was no longer in the bed. Anna and Kristoff appeared behind her just seconds later, before they heard Oliver's voice once more.

"MAMA!"

"Oliver, where are you?" Elsa began to panic as she ran through the house. "Oliver, can you hear me? Where are you?"

"Elsa, the front door!" Kristoff called.

Elsa ran towards the front of the house where she saw Anna and Kristoff desperately trying to pry the front door open, but for some reason, it was as if the door was magically sealed shut.

"Elsa, I think he's outside! We heard him outside!" Anna exclaimed.

"WHAT? Why is he out there?" Elsa gasped.

"MAMA, MAMA!"

"I'm coming, baby!" Elsa called out. Fear began to flood her body. This was a type of fear that no mother should ever have to feel for their child. Once Elsa realized that Anna nor Kristoff could get the door to open, she told them to move out of her way, before she blasted the door right out of its frame using her ice powers.

Elsa, Anna and Kristoff all quickly crawled through the hole, and it didn't take them very long to see why Oliver was screaming and pleading for help.

"Oh my gosh," Anna whispered. Her breath was shaking and she gripped onto Kristoff's arm, who had also froze in horror.

Elsa, however, almost dropped to her knees as tears began to roll down her face. Her chest began to burn in fear, anger, hatred, grief, helplessness, anxiety, love...

There, floating just a few feet above them, staring down at them with the most sinister grin a person could ever conjure, with his dark black eyes, black hair and dark soul, was Jack Frost.

And in Jack Frost's arms, sobbing and frightened to death, was his own son.

I'm. frickin. screaming.
