15th October 1975
Tonight is the full moon and we've planned what we're going to do. They are going to sneak out under James' invisibility cloak and transform there. It's a pity I won't remember our adventure but the other's will and they'll tell me all about it tomorrow. I'm feeling excited about tonight though but today I have got double DADA lessons and potions in the afternoon before I can transform.
When I was getting ready I heard a tiny roar. At first I thought I was hearing things but I heard it again. It was almost pathetic and almost sweet. I turned around to look at James and Sirius who had obviously heard the roar (if you can call it that) too. Peter on the other hand was looking guilty as the tiny roars were coming from under his bed.
"Peter, what is that?" I asked with my curiosity peaked.
"Nothing" Peter said a little too quickly.
Sirius' eyes narrowed in suspicion as they heard that cute roar again.
"Peter, what's under your bed?" James was looking a very amused.
"Um…"
Before he could answer James dived down and retrieved that dinky lion that we let loose in the forest over a month ago. The poor thing was trying to look fierce but failing miserably. James had it in his palm because it was the size of a kitten. Peter grabbed it off James and started holding it protectively.
"You shouldn't grab Hugo like that," Peter argued.
I couldn't help but laugh at the ridiculousness of the situation.
"Hugo?" I snickered.
"What's wrong with that?" Peter answered a tad too defensively.
Peter was now stroking his new pet, which seemed to be enjoying it.
"Did you come back for him?" Sirius seemed as amused as James.
"So what if I did?" Peter told us, "I couldn't just leave him in the forest! So I came back and hid him.
"You've been hiding him for over a month?" James wondered.
"Yes, because I knew you guys wouldn't let me keep him" Peter argued, "He won't do any harm to anyone. Hugo is harmless and he is now my pet"
"Cat's eat rat's you do realize that right?" Sirius joked.
James and I erupted with laughter but Peter didn't look amused.
"Fine, I have no objections to you keeping him" James told him.
"Me neither" Sirius and I said together.
That is now our dorm suddenly had a mini lion as a pet. Hugo was put down so we could continue getting ready. The lion curled up like a cat on Peter's bed. I hope the spell never wears off.
At breakfast James was talking about the Quiddich game this Saturday. The game was against Ravenclaw and the first game of the Quiddich season. I was looking forward to the game but not to James' boasting afterwards. As I munched on my cereal I noticed Snape and Regulus talking in urgent whispers in the corner of the hall. They looked like they didn't want to be overheard. Sirius noticed me staring and turned around to see what I was staring at. Snape and Regulus left the hall looking deeply concerned.
At this point James and Sirius were looking too.
"What do think that's all about?" I asked when they'd gone.
"I have no idea," Sirius answered with a worried tone.
I know Sirius worries about Regulus becoming a death eater; you can see it written all over his face. When DADA lesson started I was sitting next to Lily who seemed to be in a bad mood. We got partnered together for a project. We have to write a 2000 word essay on defensive spells. Lily and I get on now, which is good because I can talk James up to her.
"Can you find which book the spell is in?" Lily asked me.
There were a couple of books on the desk. I took one and gave it too her. She opened it and started flicking through it.
"Do you want to continue working on this evening at the library? We can work through the night," Lily suggested.
Oh shit! I'm turning into a werewolf tonight so this night won't be a very good time for me.
"No, thank you" I began, "I'm busy tonight but I'm more than happy to do it tomorrow"
"I'm busy tomorrow but how about Saturday evening?" Lily amended.
"Sure" I nodded.
"We're not getting Hugo a litter box!" came James voice from tow tables down.
James and Peter were working together and had obviously deviated from the task at hand.
"Why not?" came Peter's whiny voice.
"Because they stink the place out, that's why!" James answered, "You're the one who wanted to keep him so you're the one who has the clean up the poop"
Later on that evening I'll say goodbye to the guys and transform. See you tomorrow.

I feel great today, which is strange considering what happened last night. I still have a few scratches but nothing I can't handle. I actually felt happy when my friends told me of their grand adventure last night. I felt great throughout the day until around lunchtime when it truly sunk in what I did. James was at Quiddich practice, Sirius was out with some girl and Peter was collar shopping for Hugo.
I was sat down in the common room thinking about the previous night a thought came to me. You could've bit them. If I had then I would've passed my condition onto my friends. If I had done that, I don't think I'd be able to live with myself. What possessed me to agree to this? Surely I'm being incredibly selfish?
"Are you OK?" said a sweet voice in front of me.
It was Jenny who was looking at me curiously. She looked as beautiful as she usually does. Jenny was still wearing her uniform, which was slightly rumpled now. She seemed concerned as she waited for an answer.
"No, not really" I answered honestly.
"Do you want to talk about it?" she asked.
"Not really" I sighed.
She laughed at that and nodded.
"Alright then" Jenny smiled, "What do you want to talk about?"
I pretended to think for a few moments before answering.
"I want to talk about anything that doesn't include Quiddich or a mini lion" I responded.
Jenny laughed at my statement and we continued to talk throughout the night, my guilt quite forgotten. She was enchanting to be with. I couldn't help noticing how beautiful she looked by the fireside. We finished talking around midnight when she had to get to bed.
Unbeknownst to me, my friends had been waiting to the background. The instant I saw their grins, I knew I was about to be teased.
"Very smooth Romeo" Sirius smirked.
They sat down around me and they started asking me questions.
"Are you and Jenny getting serious?" James asked.
"We were just talking" I chuckled, "She's very beautiful though"
My friends made an oooing sound.
"Very mature guys, very mature" I retorted.
We went to bed shortly after that with Peter telling us all about the collar he'd bought for Hugo. It was a red with yellow spots and he put it on as soon as he saw him. Even Sirius admitted that he looked cute in it. That's all my news for today. Tomorrow is Quiddich so James went to bed a little bit earlier then the rest of us.

James was out of the common room before either of us woke up. I awoke to Hugo licking my face and wagging its tail like a dog. I stroked it awkwardly and when I did Hugo brushed its head on my hand. I wouldn't admit this out loud but Hugo was starting to grow on me.
"Where's James?" asked a sleepy Sirius when I'd finished getting ready.
"He went to the match early" I told him, "James said he wanted to get more practice in before the match"
Sirius nodded before getting out of bed. He spends at least 20 minutes every morning fixing his hair. Once I told him my Mum spends less time getting ready but he told me where I should go. Peter was putting some meat he'd nicked from the school kitchens down on Hugo's bowl. He was already dressed and so was I.
"Come on sleeping beauty" I smiled, "We're going to be late for the match"
"You can't rush perfection," Sirius argued.
I rolled my eyes as Sirius continued to groom himself.
When he was finally ready we made our way up to the Quiddich pitch. It was already packed when we got there but we managed to find good places eventually. As soon as we stopped the match had begun. It was good match and Gryffindor was raking up the points but so were the Ravenclaws. The match lasted for about two hours before Gryffindor won by one point. Our side of the stadium erupted into cheers as the Gryffindor team did loops in the sky but James wasn't looking too pleased. When we got back to the common room later he started talking about it.
"We only won by one point" James explained when asked what was the matter.
"You still won the match though," Sirius pointed out.
"But only just" James argued, "The team needs to train more"
The other's kept talking about Quiddich as I excused myself from them. I had a study date with Lily. When I arrived she was already making notes.
"Hey Lily" I greeted as I sat down next to her.
"Hey Remus" she welcomed back.
We were studying for about and hour or so until something really weird happened. Snape practically ran up to us and approached Lily, who didn't look too happy about it.
"Lily, I need to talk to you" Snape requested desperately.
"I'm studying with Remus" Lily pointed out flatly.
Snape gave me a quick once over, I responded by giving me a sarcastic wave before his eyes turned back to Lily.
"It's important" Snape pressed.
Lily rolled her eyes and got up.
"Fine" Lily said in an annoyed tone until she turned to me, "Sorry about this"
"That's OK" I reassured her.
They both went out of sight for about five minutes until the came back. Lily looked as worried and as desperate as Snape. She practically ran to the desk, got her stuff and turned to me.
"I'm so sorry but we're going to have to cut this short" Lily said very quickly, "We'll continue another night?"
She didn't even wait for me to answer, which was really weird. Confused and curious, I got my stuff and left the library. I went back to the dorm to discover that most of my friends were asleep, which sounds like a good plan. I have to admit that I am concerned about what had made Lily just leave like that. Does this have a connection to what Snape have told Regulus a few days ago? I shrugged and started getting ready for bed. Whatever is going on, it's clearly none of business so I'm going to keep my noise out of it…if I can.
