Percy POV

I think Apollo could tell I was getting frustrated. "It's okay Perce, no one's good at everything."

I huffed. "I'm not trying to be as good as you, but it would be nice if I could get within 30 feet of the target."

He rolled his eyes, "You're over-exaggerating. You've gotten a lot better. It's been weeks since you almost killed anyone."

I glared at the sun god, "Very funny."

He shrugged and flashed me a smirk. "I thought so." When I didn't laugh he sighed. "Really Percy, you are getting better. It may not be as fast as you want it to be, but anyone can see the change. It's just taking a while. Archery to you is as difficult as melee is to me. All you need is a little patience."

I felt my shoulders droop. No matter how much I practiced, I could never hit the target. I had exactly one arrow in my entire life fly straight, and that was only because Hera helped me. After two weeks of getting private lessons from the god of archery himself, I had hoped to at least be able to hit the target.

"I think you need a little more motivation."

I frowned and turned to the god in confusion. "What?"

Apollo gave me a brilliant smile, "I will make you a deal. If by the end of the day you hit the target even once, I will let you pick tonight's movie."

My eyes widen in surprised excitement, "Any of them?"

He gave a slightly pained grimace but nodded, "Any of them, even Disney."

I felt a smile split my face, "I want to watch The Little Mermaid."

We had television for exactly four days before Apollo banned me from picking Disney movies. After our first, and so far only, movie marathon, the god of the sun had refused to watch any more musical cartoons. Considering he was the god of music, I thought that was rather bizarre. Though, it might have had something to do with the fact that we only had the two, Aladdin and the Little Mermaid. Apollo discovered that I had no problem watching a movie again right after I finished it, but apparently he did.

He sighed, "Why am I not surprised? Fine. The Little Mermaid it is. If you hit the target. Deal?"

"Deal," I suddenly felt a new surge of determination. I took a deep breath and grabbed an arrow. I drew it back and tried to aim. Though the left handed bow still felt slightly strange after all the time I had spent trying to use a right handed one, I was getting more comfortable with it. If nothing else, at least aiming was slightly easier.

"Okay Perce, remember what I told you. Don't strangle the bow handle. Gripping it too tightly will send you arrow off course once you release." I loosened my death-grip slightly. "Okay, raise your elbow a bit, it's too low." I did what he asked and he nodded. "Good, now don't forget to turn the arm that's holding the bow. If you release the arrow like that, you will bruise yourself again."

I huffed and rolled my eyes. "Just how many corrections are you going to make?"

He gave me an unimpressed look, "Focus." I sighed but I did what he asked. I had brought the string down on my arm too many times to ignore his advice.

I waited for anymore corrections to my stance, but when none were forthcoming, I decided I must be good to go. I took a deep breath. I held it for a moment before I slowly exhaled, releasing the projectile.

I dropped my head and groaned in defeat when the arrow went whizzing past, four feet to the left of the target.

I felt a hand land on my shoulder, "Let's try again."

Apollo POV

Honestly, I was at a loss as to why he couldn't hit the target. He always waited for me to make sure his stance was correct before shooting. The only thing I couldn't really help him with was his aim. Since I couldn't see through his sight, I just had to trust that he knew what to do.

I tried to help, but anyone could see that he was getting annoyed. No one liked to repeatedly fail at the same thing. I kind of regretted offering him his choice of movies as a prize. I thought it would help him gain some new motivation but after another hour plus of miss after miss, I think it was only adding to his agitation. I had never met anyone who loved Disney movies as much as the son of Poseidon. I contemplated telling him that he could pick any movie anyway, but I knew he wouldn't want that. I had made it a challenge, now he wanted to prove he could do it.

I silently sighed and ran a hand through my hair. I was seriously running out of ideas. The more frustrated Percy got, the wider his arrows flew off target. He went to go collect his arrows again, leaving me to try and think up another plan. I knew that if he hit the target even once, then he would calm down and be able to do it again.

If I still had my godly gifts, I could just give him my blessing. He would hit the target and his confidence in archery would skyrocket. The problem is I wasn't a god and my kids can't bless people so therefore, I couldn't either.

Plans had never been my strong suit. It was times like this that I really missed my sister. She would have some kind of plan. She probably wouldn't tell me what it was, but she would at least give me a hint. I glanced over at the horizon, where I could just see her moon beginning to rise.

I was just about to turn away from the painful reminder of my twin when I had a flash of inspiration. I turned back to the moon with a gasp. I may not have been able to give my blessing as the god of archery, but the goddess of archery could. I bit my lip, I wasn't sure if she would do it for me, but it was worth a shot.

I only half watched as Percy took his stance. There was just one suggestion to make this time, reminding him about that elbow. He really didn't want to keep it level with his shoulder.

I closed my eyes and sent her a silent plea, Please Artemis. Percy needs your help here. I know he's a guy, but he's a good one. Even you have to admit that. Just let him make this shot...

I opened my eyes and nodded to the son of the sea god, "Alright Percy. You've got this." He didn't look convinced, but he centered himself and released the arrow.

I knew the shot was good even before it struck home. My twin clearly thought things through better than I did. If it had been me giving him my blessing, I would have made the arrow hit dead center. Instead, my guess was to avoid suspicion, the arrow struck home in the outermost ring.

I felt a huge smile split my face as I turned to look at the son of Poseidon. His jaw had literally fallen open and he was staring at the target like it had suddenly grown legs and started doing the cha-cha. I couldn't help but laugh.

He turned his incredulous expression on me and I felt my smile grown even bigger. "Nice shot Perce."

He opened and closed his mouth several times trying to find words. I chuckled at the thought of him doing an impression of a fish. That finally seemed to snap him out of his surprised daze. "It... It hit the target."

I lifted on eyebrow and nodded. "Indeed."

He blinked slowly several times before he laughed. I didn't even have time to register his movements before I found myself with my arms full of a laughing, smiling, sea-prince. My heart stuttered in my chest and I hesitantly wrapped my arms around him.

I felt like my heart was doing acrobatics. We may have been rather tactile people, but hugs from the son of Poseidon were still uncommon. I doubted anyone could be blame for blushing when their crush wrapped their arms around them. I felt my cheeks colour slightly when I met his excited gaze.

When our eyes met, he seemed to realize what he was doing and pulled away. He blushed, but it didn't diminish his smile. He jumped up with a fist pump. "I actually hit it!"

I forced a laugh but if it sounded a little breathless, who could blame me?

I cleared my throat. "Good job Perce, I knew you could do it." I was pleased to hear that my voice sounded normal again.

His smile could have rivalled my sun on a summer day. "Thanks Fred. Now, I think you own me a movie night."

I laughed. "That I do. Come on, go collect your arrow and let's head home."

He practically skipped to the target to get it. I could almost feel his excited energy. I shook my head fondly. This boy was too endearing for his own good.

I sent a smile towards the moon. Thanks sis.

For one second, I could have sworn that it winked back.

The two of us were sprawled out on my bed, a bowl that had once help popcorn between us. Once the credits started to roll on The Little Mermaid, Percy begged me to watch Aladdin. Even though we had already seen both of them at least six times since we got the television, I couldn't refuse the baby-seal face. I really needed to get more Disney movies though. I didn't mind them, in fact I was a huge fan of Fantasia and Sword in the Stone, I just hated watching movies over and over again in a short time span.

When Percy began to nod off halfway through our second movie, I wasn't surprised. He had been up even earlier than me for once. That combined with our long training sessions in both the arena and the target range, it was no wonder he was so tired. I tried to convince him that we could shut it off and finish it tomorrow night, but he refused. When his eyes slipped shut again and his head came to rest on my shoulder, I decided that I didn't really mind finishing the movie after all.

Once the credits had come to a close, I turned off the T.V. and tried to rouse the son of Poseidon who was currently using my chest as a pillow.

"Perce, come on. You have to move to your own bed."

He let out a sleepy huff and nuzzled his face deeper into my shirt. I felt my pulse skyrocket and I had to take a steadying breath before I could continue.

I smiled and gently shook his shoulder. "Come on, you can't sleep here. Let's go."

He grumbled, but he did move. He didn't seem to intend to bother opening his eyes though, so I helped him down the hallway and into his own room. Since we were both already in our pajamas, at least I didn't have to worry about trying to make him wake up to change. I finally got him to the edge of his bed and he instantly lay down. I smiled at him; sometimes he could be exactly like an overgrown kid.

He let go of me and nuzzled his pillow. He sounded like he was mostly out of it already when he bid me goodnight.

"Night 'Pollo..."

He was asleep again before he could even pull his blankets over him. I chuckled quietly and pulled the quilt up to his chin. He shifted slightly in his sleep and ended up latching onto my arm. For the third time in one day, I felt my heart rate quicken. I took a deep breath and gently detangled my hand from his. He really was unfairly endearing.

I bit my lip and looked down at the sleeping god beside me. Before I could talk myself out of it, I leaned down and pressed my lips against his skin.

I only held my lips against his forehead for a moment before I pulled away.

"Good night Perce."

Authors Note

Awe, Apollo. Percy just loves driving you crazy. :-) I'd say I'm sorry, but I'm not.

So I found this chapter hard to write too, though not for the same reasons as the last one. I had a hard time focusing because A) I was reading Spock/Kirk fanfictions most of the week, and B) because I was very excited for my 4 day vacation. My boss is fantastic, so when I told him I want the 30th to the 2nd off for my birthday and so that I could spend the whole day on Halloween dressed up as Anakin Skywalker, he just said, "You're awesome. Okay."

Next update will be November 8th

Next Chapter:

"Apollo... APOLLO!" I shook his shoulders, trying to wake him up. Suddenly he jolted awake, panting for air. He sat up; his terrified eyes searched the room in confusion before finally coming to rest on me...
