A POV

"Can I just say we keep getting better and better at this?", I giggle after Christian and I both find our release following our early morning lovemaking.

"No arguments here.", he says. My body remains on top of his as I place my head on his chest. "I think we needed that to get ourselves ready for today." Colin is releasing the statement today announcing our marriage. Christian and I have prepared ourselves for this day, but we still don't know how the public will react. In a perfect world, everyone would simply shrug their shoulders and move along with their business. This however, is not a perfect world.

"Is the statement still going out this afternoon?" After discussing the issue of timing, we decided to have the statement issued this afternoon to a reporter at the Seattle Times, Thea Olson, who Colin found to be one of the most respectful reporters in the industry.

"If all goes according to plan, it'll be out by five which will work out since your classes will be over for the week." My mouth curves into a smile at how well this week has gone. I was worried about school, but it's turned out to be a wonderful experience which I'm enjoying more and more by the day. Once word is out about us, things might take a nosedive. "You're doing it again."

"And what is that? Making you hard?", I giggle. He leans down and lays a small kiss on the tip of my nose and then shakes his head.

"I've got a tent in my pants around the clock thanks to you, but I'm referring to how you're over thinking."

"I'm concerned with how things could change after today."

"Baby, I wish I could predict what's going to happen, but I can't. What I can do though is assure you that no matter what transpires, you're going to be ok.", he says. "Why don't you have Sawyer bring you to GEH after your last class?"

"You won't be too busy?", I ask.

"No. I've got a budget meeting, but the rest of my day is clear."

"My last class should be over at two-thirty so we can be there at three. Don't forget that we're going to my dad's tonight for dinner. I need to remember to take his gifts."

"I'll help remind you.", he laughs.

"Ana, hey.", Beth from my History of Interior Design class smiles at me as I'm walking from my Color Theory class.

"Hi, how are you?", I ask.

"I'm good especially since it's Friday, and I'm one step closer to saying that I survived my first week of school." We begin walking to the class with Sawyer following close behind us. "Don't freak out or anything, but that guy is following us."

"He's harmless." I can see the confusion in her eyes so I decide to quietly tell her about Sawyer. "His name is Luke Sawyer, and he's my security." Even more confusion is on her face now. "It's a long story."

"Maybe you could tell me about it some time." When we arrive at our class, several of the students are standing outside in the hallway. James Greer, our instructor, has greeted the students upon arrival every morning so to see that he's not here is odd.

"Class is cancelled for today.", Carmine, one of my classmates tells us, pointing to a piece of paper which is taped to the door. "Mr. Greer is sick and can't teach today."

"Since he's sick, I have some free time before my next class. How about we get that coffee now?", Beth asks. "There's a coffee machine not far from here so we can get our coffee and then sit outside and enjoy the sunny day." Although I've only known her for a few days, Beth seems to be nice and harmless, and I do need to start making friends.

"Sure." She leads us down the hall and through a set of double doors which bring us into a room filled with vending machines.

"Ready?", she asks once we've got our coffee. I nod and then follow her outside where we find a bench outside the building. "It's supposed to rain tomorrow so we need to take advantage of the pleasant weather as much as we can."

"Are you living here on campus?"

"I've got an apartment a few blocks over. It's small, but it's perfect. What about you?"

"I live with my husband in an apartment about fifteen minutes away." I choose to not mention that I live at Escala.

"I just now noticed your wedding ring. How long have you been married?"

"It'll be two weeks tomorrow.", I answer with a wide grin. "It's been the best two weeks of my life."

"Even though my love life sucks, it's always nice to hear about the success others have in love." She smiles at Sawyer who's sitting on the bench across from us. "I have a feeling your husband is probably good looking which makes you even luckier since you've got that hottie following you."

"The only guy who I notice is Christian, my husband."

"Oh so, I'm thinking about signing up for some an on campus club or something. It might be fun. Do you think you might be interested in it?"

"I'm not sure, but I'll think about."

C POV

"Ms. Olson is going to post the statement on the newspaper's website at five on the dot, and it'll also appear in tomorrow's print edition.", Colin says while he's briefing me. "Of course, once it's on the web, it won't take long for other outlets to pick up the story."

"And change the story.", I sigh.

"Mr. Grey, no matter the nature of a story, it's bound to be changed. Think of it like a conversation between two people which is passed on to others. By the time story gets to the end of the ling, there's nothing remaining of the truth. One of the things which I like about Thea Olson is her ability to listen and then report the truth and nothing more."

"I looked over the file you gave me on her, and I agree that she has a good reputation."

"It might not mean much, but I've got to say, as long as you and Mrs. Grey know the truth, nothing else matters.", he says.

"You're right. Thanks Colin."

"I'll call you when it's go time." After he leaves the room, I call Ana to see how her day is going so far.

"Hi.", she giggles.

"Hey baby, I figured that you were out of your second class by now so I thought I'd see how my wife's doing." I then hear another woman laughing followed by Ana telling her that I'm on the phone. "Is everything ok?"

"Yeah, I'm sorry. Beth and I were laughing over a joke that her dad told her."

"Beth? Who's that?"

"Hold on." There is a brief silence before she comes back. "Ok, I moved away so I can talk to you privately. Beth's in my History of Interior Design class which was cancelled today because Mr. Greer's sick. I decided to accept her offer of getting coffee as a way of making new friends." I need to find out this Beth's last name so I can have a background check run on her. The last thing I want is for Ana to make friends with someone not trust worthy.

"Am I correct in assuming that Sawyer was with you?"

"He's been with me the entire time." If I could look through the phone, I'm sure that I'd see her rolling her eyes. "I might sign up for some sort of extracurricular activity."

"I could show you many extracurricular activities.", I say.

"I'm serious, and that leads me to my favor of you."

"A favor? Do tell."

"I know that I was supposed to meet you at three, but would it be all right if I'm a little late? Several of the clubs have tables set up at the student union, and Beth wants me to go with her to check it out."

"Go ahead and check it out."

"Are you sure that it's ok?" I had looked forward to seeing her at three, but I don't want to stop her from doing something which could be good for her.

"It's fine, really."

"I'll be there before four. I've got to go, but I love you.", she says.

"I love you too."

At three, instead of seeing Ana walk through my door, Elliot appears in my doorway. Although we've talked on the phone, this is the first time that I've seen him since we returned from our honeymoon.

"How's it going little brother?", he asks, sitting down across from me.

"Good. How are you?"

"The same. One of Dad's friends is wanting some work done so I just left from meeting with him and thought that I'd stop by and see you. How's newlywed life treating you?"

"It's wonderful. Ana and I fall deeper in love every day, and we couldn't be happier."

"I recall that she was a bit worried about school. How is she liking it?"

"She got over her initial anxiety and seems to be embracing this new stage. In fact, she was supposed to be here right now, but she's checking out some of the club and activities around campus.", I say.

"That's cool. She'll be making new friends and having fun." I start to wonder if things will change with the two of us now that she's changing.

"I guess."

"What a minute, are you worried about her becoming a different person?"

"Fuck, get out of my head. I'm not worried. I'm just...wondering.", I mumble as I look at a photo of us on our wedding day. "I was the one who encouraged her, but what if that encouragement makes her reevaluate who she is and what she wants?"

"You honestly think that girl is going to change her mind about marrying you? Man, you need to open your eyes more and see how she looks at you. It feels like I'm watching one of those chick flicks Spencer drags me to. All that's missing is the sappy music."

"You're right."

"Uh yeah, I am.", he chuckles. "Ana adding on to her life doesn't mean that she's going to do any subtracting. The two of you are solid." Elliot's words are true. I should happy that Ana's got this new chapter which she deserves.

"You're pretty wise when you want to be.", I tell him. I become excited when I hear my phone ringing. It's probably Ana telling me that she's on her way. When I grab the phone, I see that it's Sawyer.

"Sir.", he stammers. I get an unsettling feeling with the tone of his voice.

"Where's Ana?"

"Something's happened."
