Quinn blushes when she notices the look in Tiago's eyes. As she fixes her blue dress for the millionth time, he's giving her a hungry stare. Even after having been together for so long now, they still want each other every second of every day.
"So, what do you think?" Quinn asks, holding her arms wide open. "Am I ready to go?"
Tiago licks his lips, then bites his lower lip. "Do we really have to go? I could just eat you right now." He sounds a bit petulant and it makes Quinn laugh.
"Of course we have to go, doofus. It's our engagement party," she smiles, rolling her eyes playfully. She steps closer to him and wraps her arms around his waist, pulling him into her. She moves her mouth to his ear and whispers: "You can eat me later if you want."
He groans and mumbles: "You're just evil." But then he kisses her anyway. And he keeps kissing her, until…
"Hey, lovebirds!" Sienna's voice sounds from the other side of the door. "Get yourselves decent, it's time to go."
They let go of each other, albeit grudgingly. Quinn grabs her purse and they join Sienna and Charlie in the living room. They're meeting the others at the karaoke bar. Quinn's looking forward to it, it's been a while since they all got to sing - and it's been even longer since they got to sing with their friends from the Glee club.
"Are you nervous?" Tiago asks Quinn as they get inside Sienna's car. "I mean, it has been a while, hasn't it?"
Quinn shrugs. "Maybe a little, but they're all friends and family, sweetie. There's nothing to be nervous about, really."
He nods, rubbing his hands together. "Yeah. You're right. Totally right. Nothing to be nervous about."
Charlie turns around from the front seat, quirking an eyebrow. "Your girl's right, Tiago. It's just us. We're all your friends."
Quinn knows it's time to change the subject. "I still think it's a small miracle they could all make it. I mean, especially with our friends from Glee - they're basically flying in from all over the country for our engagement party. I'd have expected people like Puck or Finn to say they couldn't make it, but they'd be there for the wedding or something."
"They all really care about you guys," Charlie says. "I mean, I don't know them that well, but I've met them a couple of times."
"What're they like?" Sienna asks Charlie from behind the wheel. "I mean, I've heard a lot about them, but what're they like?"
Charlie smirks. "You really have to meet them. I mean, Glee club… you just can't explain them."
"Thank you all so much for coming," Quinn beams. Tiago's gone to get drinks, together with Ryan and Guillermo. "It's weird seeing all of you together, but it's definitely good."
When the guys return with the drinks, they all catch up. There's people performing on stage, but Quinn and Tiago made sure to arrange for them all to sing later on. They'd had to ask everyone to let the owners know what songs they'd be singing, since it's a surprise. Tiago and Quinn don't even know what songs they'll be singing to each other.
Things have surely been changing for everyone. The Glee club members are surprised to hear Charlie's been staying in one place for so long.
"So you live with Tiago and Quinn now?" Tina asks curiously. "Isn't it a bit small in there, for three people I mean?"
"We don't mind," Quinn and Tiago say simultaneously. Quinn continues: "After all, Charlie's all the family I've got, the Lopez clan not included."
"I've been looking for my own place to stay and there's something in the works," Charlie says mysteriously. But then she makes the fatal mistake of sharing a look with Sienna.
"I knew it!" Ashley exclaims victoriously. "You're moving in with Sienna!"
Both girls blush. "I didn't say that," Charlie mumbles and changes the subject. "So, Lessa, it's been ages since I've seen you. How's things at school?"
Lessa smiles, happy to share. "Great. I'm on the soccer team now, it's great. And Bridget, my girlfriend, is a cheerleader. We pretty much rule the school." She takes Bridget's hand proudly. Bridget's a bit shy since she has only met Lessa's family and Quinn so far - and of course, Holly and Ms Pilsbury. She doesn't really know anyone from Glee club or the New York friends.
"She means that quite literally," Maribel shares. "I'm glad Bridget didn't make our Lessa suffer for as long as Quinn did Tiago, though! It would have broken my mother heart to see both of my babies hurt so badly."
"Will I ever be let off the hook for taking so long?" Quinn asks with a pout.
"Hmm, I don't think so," Holly grins, taking Emma's hand in hers.
Artie nods. "This is going to follow you forever, Quinn."
"Did it really take her that long?" David Hale asks his wife, Frannie.
Frannie smirks and nods. "Oh yeah."
"Guys," Rachel says loudly - not that she has to do much effort to make her voice carry over the others' conversation. "I don't want to steal Quinn and Santiago's thunder, but I have an announcement."
They all turn to Rachel, nobody expected this.
"Well, what is it?" Kurt asks impatiently.
Rachel smiles happily as she clears her throat and says: "I got into NYADA. I'm moving to New York City at the end of the school year."
There's a rare silence first, but then they all start talking at once. Quinn walks over to Rachel to congratulate her, joined by Tiago.
"I'm happy for you, Rachel. If there's anyone who deserves to make it big, it's you," Finn says quietly.
Tiago gives them a questioning luck. "Finn's not joining you to New York?"
Rachel shakes her head. "We broke up a couple of weeks ago. It just wasn't working anymore. And I'm sure that if we're meant to be together, we'll find our way back to each other again."
Quinn smiles sympathetically. "I know it must be hard for you guys to be here together, at an engagement party no less. Thank you for being here."
"I guess it's not as easy for everyone as it is for you two," Finn smiles sadly.
"We have our fights too, you know," Quinn says. "But every relationship's different."
They spend some more time catching up with everyone, until the owner makes his way to their table. Quinn even catches Charlie smiling genuinely, happily, for the first time since she showed up at their door.
"I take it this is the Lopez/Fabray party? It's your time to shine, guys."
"Thanks," Quinn smiles. "This is our engagement party, actually." She can't help it - she's so proud to say it.
The owner smiles. "Well, in that case, the next round's on the house!"
"Okay, so who's going first?" Mercedes asks excitedly. "I can't wait to hear what everyone's prepared."
"Tiago," Quinn says, as if they planned this. "You go first."
"What?" he asks, looking like a deer trapped in headlights. "No. No, no, no. I'm not going first!"
Quinn looks him deep in the eye and leans in for a soft kiss. "Please? For me?"
Tiago is stunned at that. "… of course. Yeah. I'll go."
Debra pats Quinn on the shoulder. "Wow. He really would do anything for you, wouldn't he?"
Quinn smiles as she watches Tiago making his way to the stage. "But I would do anything for him as well."
Tiago takes place behind the microphone. "Hi, everyone. My friends and family know who I am - my name is Santiago, and I'm here tonight to celebrate my engagement to the most beautiful girl in the world. We've been best friends since kindergarten, Quinn. And I was in love with you for a very long time without you noticing anything. There was a song I'd never admit listening to, but that pretty much described my dreams. I can't say how happy I am that those dreams have finally come true. I'm going to sing Evanescence's You."
He closes his eyes as the music starts playing, only opening them when it's his turn to start singing. He looks right at her.
The words have been drained from this pencil
Sweet words that I want to give you
And I can't sleep
I need to tell you
Goodnight
When we're together, I feel perfect
When I'm pulled away from you, I fall apart
All you say is sacred to me
Your eyes are so blue
I can't look away
As we lay in the stillness
You whisper to me
"Baby, marry me
Promise you'll stay with me"
Oh you don't have to ask me
You know you're all that I live for
You know I'd die just to hold you
Stay with you
Somehow I'll show you
That you are my night sky
I've always been right behind you
Now I'll always be right beside you
So many nights I cried myself to sleep
Now that you love me, I love myself
I never thought I would say this
I never thought there'd be
You
Quinn swallows, tears in her eyes. His voice is so rich, so gentle. She can only applaud along with everyone else, but not utter a word. Tiago is smiling at her from up on the stage. "I love you, baby girl."
When he comes back to the table, she almost runs over to him to wrap her arms around him and kiss him. She doesn't even hear the reaction it elicits from the table.
"Alright, Quinn, now it's your turn," Kurt says excitedly.
Quinn shakes her head and walks up to the stage. She chuckles. "I'm not entirely sure I can sing right now, because I'm still emotional. My husband-to-be just sang me a beautiful song and I was even speechless for a second there. My name is Quinn, I'm the lucky girl who got this ring," she holds up her hand proudly, showing off her ring once again, "from the most handsome guy in the world. He's also the sweetest, and I see my cousin giving me a look right now and she's right, I could go on forever about what I love about him. So I'm just going to do what we came here to do: sing him a song. I'm going to sing Emeli Sandé's Next To Me."
You won't find him drinking at the table
Rolling dice and staying out till three
You won't ever find him be unfaithful
You will find him, you'll find him next to me
You won't find him tryna chase the devil
For money, fame, for power, out of greed
You won't ever find him where the rest go
You will find him, you'll find him next to me
Quinn is joined by the girls from Glee club for the chorus.
Next to me ooh hooo
Next to me ooh hooo
Next to me ooh hooo
You will find him, you'll find him next to me
When the money's spent and all my friends have vanished
And I can't seem to find no help or love for free
I know there's no need for me to panic
'Cause I'll find him, I'll find him next to me
When the skies are grey and all the doors are closing
And the rising pressure makes it hard to breathe
When all I need's a hand to stop the tears from falling
I will find him, I'll find him next to me
Next to me ooh hooo
Next to me ooh hooo
Next to me ooh hooo
I will find him, I'll find him next to me
When the end has come and buildings falling down fast
When we spoilt the land and dried up all the sea
When everyone has lost their heads around us
You will find him, you'll find him next to me
Next to me ooh hooo
Next to me ooh hooo
Next to me ooh hooo
You will find him, you'll find him next to me
Next to me ooh hooo
Next to me ooh hooo
Next to me ooh hooo
You will find him, you'll find him next to me
When Quinn and the girl gets back to the table, she can see the happiness radiating from Tiago. He leans in for a deep kiss and for a moment, they get lost in each other, not caring about the whistles. They're entirely surprised when they look up and see Charlie on the stage, accompanied by Sienna, who is sitting behind the piano.
"Did you know Charlie prepared a song?" Tiago asks Quinn, holding her hand.
Quinn frowns. "I didn't."
Charlie clears her throat. "I'm Charlie, Quinn's cousin. Quinn and Tiago have been kind enough to let me stay with them for the last couple of weeks. They're two young people crazily in love with each other, but not for one second have I felt like I was a burden to them, or I was in the way. And I know I must have been sometimes. They've been there for me when I needed them the most, so I decided to sing them a song tonight. Sienna, who has also been such a great and supportive friend, will accompany on the piano. This is Bon Jovi's Thank You for Loving Me."
It's hard for me to say the things
I want to say sometimes
There's no one here but you and me
And that broken old street light
Lock the doors
We'll leave the world outside
All I've got to give to you
Are these five words when I
Thank you for loving me
For being my eyes when I couldn't see for
Parting my lips when I couldn't breathe
Thank you for loving me
Thank you for loving me
I never knew I had a dream
Until that dream was you
When I look into your eyes
The sky's a different blue
Cross my heart
I wear no disguise
If I tried, you'd make believe
That you believed my lies
Thank you for loving me
For being my eyes when I couldn't see
For parting my lips when I couldn't breathe
Thank you for loving me
You pick me up when I fall down
You ring the bell before they count me out
If I was drowning you would part the sea
And risk your own life to rescue me, yeah
Lock the doors
Leave the world outside
All I've got to give to you
Are these five words when I
Thank you for loving me
For being my eyes oh, when I couldn't see
You parted my lips when I couldn't breathe
Thank you for loving me
When I couldn't fly
Oh, you gave me wings
You parted my lips when I couldn't breathe
Thank you for loving me
Thank you for loving me
Thank you for loving me
Oh for loving me
Tiago and Quinn are utterly surprised. They knew Charlie had a nice singing voice, but they had no idea she's this good. When she's back at the table, they each hug her for a long time. "Thank you," Quinn smiles, her voice a bit strained with emotion.
"This means the world to us," Tiago adds.
They sit back down and in thanking Charlie, they didn't notice their New York friends all getting up to get on stage. It doesn't surprise them that Luke is the one taking the microphone.
"Well, Charlie, those are some shoes to fill! I think we can all agree we've heard amazing sings and amazing singers so far, so let this be clear: Ryan, Ashley, Debra, Sienna and me aren't singers at all. We don't have the voices the others have. But we met Quinn and Tiago here in New York, in college, and they've come to mean a lot to us. So we decided to sing them a song too. You guys really belong together. But if you're ever going through a rough time, know that we're here for you, all of us. That's why we're singing The Rembrandt's I'll Be There For You. It might not be 100% accurate to your situation right now, but we went for the sentiment behind it."
Quinn and Tiago smile as the all too familiar song starts playing. They all sing in turns, and in all honesty, they're clearly not used to singing. But nobody cares about that - it's the idea and the thought behind it that counts. Throughout the song, they're jumping around on the stage, just having fun.
So no one told you life was gonna be this way
Your job's a joke, you're broke, your love life's D O A
It's like you're always stuck in second gear
When it hasn't been your day, your week
Your month or even your year but
I'll be there for you
(When the rain starts to pour)
I'll be there for you
(Like I've been there before)
I'll be there for you
('Cause you're there for me too)
You're still in bed at ten and work began at eight
You've burned your breakfast so far things are going great
Your mother warned you there'd be days like these
But she didn't tell you when the world
Has brought you down to your knees that
I'll be there for you
(When the rain starts to pour)
I'll be there for you
(Like I've been there before)
I'll be there for you
('Cause you're there for me too)
No one could ever know me, no one could ever see me
Since you're the only one who knows what it's like to be me
Someone to face the day with, make it through all the rest with
Someone I'll always laugh with
Even at my worst, I'm best with you, yeah
It's like you're always stuck in second gear
When it hasn't been your day, your week
Your month, or even your year
I'll be there for you
(When the rain starts to pour)
I'll be there for you
(Like I've been there before)
I'll be there for you
('Cause you're there for me too)
I'll be there for you
(When the rain starts to pour)
I'll be there for you
(Like I've been there before)
I'll be there for you
('Cause you're there for me too)
"They clearly practiced this," Tiago grins. "They actually took the time to prepare this!"
"They're amazing," Quinn agrees. When their friends get back, they take their time to thank each of them separately, making sure they get how much this means to them. In the meanwhile, their friends from Glee club have taken their place on the stage.
Of course, Rachel's the one taking the lead. "That was really fun," she smiles. "You guys clearly care about Quinn and Santiago - and so do we. Quinn, Santiago, we met each other in high school. Santiago, you were just a scrawny pimpled guy when we met you. But already, you and Quinn were inseparable. We all know the only reason you ever joined Glee club was because Quinn wanted to join, but was scared about doing it by herself. Quinn, you've always been the prettiest girl of the school and the girl all the guys were crushing on and all the girls wanted to be - or were crushing on. All of us have known all along that this would come - that the two of you would get married, would end up together. And you might not have known it, but I think you were in love with Santiago from the start. Why else was the first time you arranged for someone to be slushied that exchange student who had a crush on him?"
Quinn blushes - she had almost forgotten that.
"Anyway, I've been rambling again, haven't I?" Rachel fake-gasps in pretend offense when everyone loudly agrees. "We've prepared Halestorm's Here's To Us for you, Quinn and Santiago. I hope you enjoy it."
Their friends from Glee club have clearly put a lot of work in this performance - almost as if they've prepared it for Nationals. Quinn and Tiago have no idea how they did that, living so far away from each other, but they truly appreciate it. They all have their own lines, singing the chorus in unison.
We could just go home right now
Or maybe we could stick around
For just one more drink
Oh yeah
Get another bottle out
Let's shoot the shit, sit back down
For just one more drink
Oh yeah
Here's to us
Here's to love
All the times the we fucked up
Here's to you
Fill the glass
Cause the last few days have kicked my ass
So let's give 'em hell
Wish everybody will
Here's to us
Here's to us
We stuck it out this far together
Put our dreams through the shredder
Let's toast cause things
Got Better
And everything can change like that
And all these years go by so fast
But nothing lasts
Forever
Here's to us
Here's to love
All the times the we messed up
Here's to you
Fill the glass
Cause the last few nights have kicked my ass
If they give you hell
Tell 'em go fuck themselves
Here's to us
Here's to us
Here's to all that we kissed
And to all that we missed
To the biggest mistakes
That we just wouldn't trade
Here's to us breaking up
Without us breking down
To whatever's coming our way
Here's to us
Here's to love
All the times that we fucked up
Here's to you
Fill the glass
Cause the past few days have kicked my ass
So let's give 'em hell
Wish everybody will
Here's to us
Here's to us
Here's to love
All the times the we messed up
Here's to you
Fill the glass
Cause the last few nights have kicked my ass
If they give you hell
Tell 'em go fuck themselves
(Go fuck themselves)
Here's to us
(Here's to us)
Here's to us
(Here's to us)
Here's to us
Here's to love
Here's to us
(Wish everybody will)
Here's to us
Here's to love
Here's to us
Here's to us
They get a loud applause from everyone and again, Quinn and Tiago make sure to thank every last one of them for this. They all sit down again, and Quinn and Tiago buy drinks for everyone. When Tiago sees his sister on stage, he looks horrified.
"Lessa, please tell me you're not singing! I want my hearing intact!" he shouts out to her, clearly teasing her.
Lessa rolls her eyes. "I'm not singing, Santiago Manuel Lopez. See people, this is the charming guy you all love so much. Not so charming to his baby sister," she says with an equally teasing smile. "I'm kidding. I'm Alessandra and I think I can say I'm very lucky to have Tiago as my big brother. I'm not going to sing for him because I'm truly horrible at that. But I reckoned if everyone was performing, so should I. It's just a little speech, though.
Tiago, when we were kids we had a lot of fights, but we also ganged up on our parents together. You've always protected me and I've never had to worry too much. I've known Quinn all my life too and I've seen it all happen. Well, maybe not all, if you know what I mean," she winks, not caring about her father's shocked face. "Anyway, I've seen my brother falling hopelessly in love with his best friend and being too scared to say anything about it. I've heard you crying in your room and then pretend nothing was wrong. I've dealt with the days you were cranky as hell because she mentioned maybe liking someone. You've been absolutely miserable. But I've also heard you laughing together. I've seen that big goofy smile on your face just from being around her. I've dealt with you being a happy guy, just because you got to hear her voice. When she went to California with her parents to visit her sister for six weeks, I could tell when she had called your or texted you just from the tone of your voice. You even counted down the days on your calendar. And when she got back home and hadn't seen you in six weeks, I saw her realizing how she really felt about you. It took being away from you to see what was going on.
I've seen the two of you get together and just be a sickeningly sweet couple. You're the kind of high school sweethearts who will last. You just belong together. I can't think of anyone who could make my brother happier than Quinn. I just know that you will be happy, and you'll have great kids I'll get to completely mess up, and you'll grow old together. You guys are the perfect example that true love isn't a fantasy. Congratulations on getting married - you'll rock at it for sure."
Quinn is enthralled by Lessa's words - she must have worked on this speech for a while because, contrary to her brother, she's not much of a writer. When she turns to look at her boyfriend, she can see the tears in his eyes. "Are you crying?" she whispers softly as Lessa comes back after her applause.
"No," he shakes his head. "Not at all. Don't be silly."
He hugs his sister when she gets to them. "That was beautiful. You're awesome, you know, considering you're a baby sister," he grins cheekily.
She swats his arm playfully. "You know I love you, goof."
"I love you too, idiot. But why's Bridget looking so sullen suddenly?"
Lessa grins wickedly. "I bet 20 bucks I'd get you to cry. I won."
Tiago blushes, but Quinn high fives her.
"So, anyone else got a song?" Mike asks.
"Actually, I have one more for Quinn," Tiago says, leaning in for a kiss on her cheeks. "Surprise."
Quinn smiles in wonder. "What a coincidence. I have another one for you as well. Want to go first?"
He clearly hesitates, so Quinn decided to be gracious. "I'll go, I already pushed you earlier, after all," she winks.
She gets back on the stage. "Yeah, I know, I've already sung a song. But my boyfriend is just so perfect he deserves an extra. This is Shakira's Underneath Your Clothes."
Tiago swallows, feeling a blush creep up on his cheeks. Quinn's voice sounds so damn sexy as she starts singing.
You're a song written by the hands of God
Don't get me wrong 'cause this might sound to you a bit odd
But you own the place where all my thoughts go hiding
Right under your clothes, is where I find them
Underneath your clothes
There's an endless story
There's the man I chose
There's my territory
And all the things I deserve
For being such a good girl honey
'Cause of you, I forgot the smart ways to lie
Because of you, I'm running out of reasons to cry
When the friends are gone, when the party's over
We will still belong to each other
Underneath your clothes
There's an endless story
There's the man I chose
There's my territory
And all the things I deserve
For being such a good girl honey
Underneath your clothes
There's an endless story
There's the man I chose
There's my territory
And all the things I deserve
For being such a good girl
For being such a, hey
I love you more than all that's on the planet
Movin', talkin', walkin', breathin'
You know it's true
Oh baby it's so funny almost don't believe it
As every voice is hangin' from the silence
Lamps are hangin' from the ceilin'
Like a lady tied to her manners
I'm tied up to this feeling
Underneath your clothes
There's an endless story
There's the man I chose
There's my territory
And all the things I deserve
For being such a good girl honey
Underneath your clothes
Woahhh
There's the man I chose
There's my territory
And all the things I deserve
For being such a good girl
For being such a good girl
Quinn smiles at Tiago's face. She knows he's both emotional and horny right now and is having a hard time figuring out which he is more. She sits down in his lap for a soft kiss. "You okay?"
He nods. "Yeah." It comes out barely audible and he clears his throat. "Yeah. I, uh…" he swallows, and she can feel him shifting. "Later? I'll… I have… I have another song for you. I'll sing that."
Quinn smiles and gets up, allowing him tot ale the stage once again. "Okay, so, yeah… wow, am I the luckiest guy in the world or what? I get to marry her! I actually get to marry her! She said yes - she's perfect. Absolutely perfect. So I'm gonna sing her another song. This is Come What May, from the movie Moulin Rouge."
Never knew I could feel like this
Like I've never seen the sky before
Want to vanish inside your kiss
Every day I love you more and more
Listen to my heart, can you hear it sing?
Telling me to give you everything
Seasons may change, winter to spring
But I love you until the end of time
Come what may, come what may
I will love you until my dying day
Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place
Suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste
It all revolves around you
And there's no mountain too high, no river too wide
Sing out this song and I'll be there by your side
Storm clouds may gather and stars may collide
But I love you, I love you
Until the end of time
(Until the end of time)
Come what may, come what may
I will love you until my dying day
Oh, come what may, come what may
I will love you, I will love you
Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place
Come what may, come what may
I will love you until my dying day
Quinn takes a deep breath. Jesus Christ, she loves this guy so much she just can't contain it. She walks up to the stage to give him an intense kiss. She knows he knows what it means that she's going for such a public display of affection. She licks her lips and then takes the microphone.
"This is why I won't ever regret saying yes to him. I mean, ladies, and Kurt and Luke - if this guy here asked you to marry him, is there anyone who could say no?"
She smirks when she's met with a loud chorus of "no"'s, coming from the people not there for their party as well. "But I'm so lucky - he's all mine. He has my heart. To stay in the theme of film music, we're going to sing (I've Had) The Time of my Life together, from the movie Dirty Dancing."
Now I've had the time of my life
No, I never felt like this before
Yes I swear it's the truth
And I owe it all to you
'Cause I've had the time of my life
And I owe it all to you
I've been waiting for so long
Now I've finally found someone to stand by me
We saw the writing on the wall
And we felt this magical fantasy
Now with passion in our eyes
There's no way we could disguise it secretly
So we take each others hand
'Cause we seem to understand the urgency
Just remember
You're the one thing
I can't get enough of
So I'll tell you something
This could be love
Because I've had the time of my life
No, I never felt this way before
Yes I swear it's the truth
And I owe it all to you
'Cause I've had the time of my life
And I've searched through every open door
Till I found the truth
And I owe it all to you
Hey baby, oh yeah yeah yeah
With my body and soul
I want you more than you'll ever know
So we'll just let it go
Don't be afraid to lose control, no
Yes, I know what's on your mind when you say
"Stay with me tonight" (stay with me)
Just remember
You're the one thing
I can't get enough of
So I'll tell you something
This could be love
Because I've had the time of my life
No, I never felt this way before
Yes I swear it's the truth
And I owe it all to you
'Cause I've had the time of my life
And I've searched through every open door
(Never felt this way)
Till I found the truth
And I owe it all to you
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Oh, whoa, oh, oh
Now I've had the time of my life
No, I never felt this way before (never felt this way)
Yes I swear it's the truth
And I owe it all to you
I've had the time of my life
No, I never felt this way before (never felt this way)
Yes I swear it's the truth
And I owe it all to you
'Cause now I've had the time of my life
And I've searched through every open door
Till I found the truth
And I owe it all to you
The song earns them a loud, elaborate applause. They hug each other and kiss again before Tiago takes the microphone. "Thank you, everyone. For the next song, probably the final one from us - we'd like to invite our friends from Glee club on stage. The next song is a song we performed during our freshman year in high school and it's always been kind of our song. Everyone else here is welcome to join us in singing Journey's Don't Stop Believin'."
Just a small town girl
Livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in south Detroit
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere
A singer in a smoky room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on
All their friends from New York join them on the stage, as well as Holly and Emma - and even Lessa and Bridget.
Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlights people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night
Quinn frowns but smiles when Frannie jumps up to join them as well, leaving only Tiago's parents and Frannie's husband at their table.
Working hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on
Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night
Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight people
Don't stop believin'
Hold on
Streetlight people
Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight people
They receive a long applause again from the other patrons. They all hug each other, glowing with pride and happiness. They get back to their table and look up when the owner of the place takes the microphone.
"Don't worry, I'm not going to sing," he jokes. "I just wanted to congratulate the happy couple again and I think I can speak for everyone when I say this was one hell of an engagement party! It's rare that we get such talented singers here. I'm sure everyone here enjoyed it."
He gets an affirmative response from the other people at the karaoke bar.
They spend their time in the bar until closing time, chatting and drinking, just having a good time.
It's beyond late by the time they get home and they're more tired than they have ever been. They're kissing and giggling as they fall on the bed. "Wow, if that was our engagement party, what will the wedding be?"
"Perfect," Quinn sighs dreamily. She knows she must look like hell right now, and smell too. But then Tiago makes her forget all about that with his next words.
"We'll have a perfect wedding and an incredibly good marriage and baby, you look so beautiful right now and you're such a perfect woman… I can't wait to have babies with you."
A/N: It was about time they had the engagement party! I hope you guys liked it. All songs belong to the artists mentioned. I only changed one word in Evanescence's You - I turned 'Amy' into 'baby' to fit the situation better. Thank you, Lauren, for helping me choose songs!
Thank you all for reading! What would you guys like to see happen next?
