A year passed. During that time, Garmadon had finally come to terms with Lloyd not being a part of his life anymore, even though he knew that his son would always be with him in his heart. Zane had gone out of his way to find the source of Lloyd's death. He went to the Dark Island and saw the remaining biker members from The Purple Dragon.
"Now that we already killed Lloyd, the team has now lost all hope! Now we can take over Ninjago as our own!"
Zane gasped, and immediately summoned his dragon and flew back to the monastery. He needed to warn the others. The remaining ninja, Miyaki, Garmadon, and Yakunan were in the living room, when Zane burst in.
"Is everything alright?" Jay asked in concern.
Zane shook his head. "The Purple Dragon...they were the ones who poisoned Aira and killed Lloyd."
"WHAT?!"Garmadon growled, his eyes burning in an unrelenting fury. "I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THEY WERE USING LLOYD...MY SON...TO SHATTER OUR TEAM APART!" It was so unbearable. He had recently accepted Lloyd's death, but this was just too much for him to take in all at once. "I'll avenge you, my son...I won't let them get away..." He cursed softly under his breath, seething in anger, trembling violently. He buried his head in his hands. "No...it can't be..."
"Garmadon, calm down." Yakunan slowly walked up to him.
"I can't..." Garmadon let out a soft sob. "I'm just...too upset... Now I know... His death was intentional...and I will not rest until I avenge him." His heart clenched in overwhelming emotion and determination. Deep within, there was a driving force to lash out at whoever dared to take his son away from him. "I loved him...and they tore him away from me."
"I'm sorry..." Zena sat next to him and tried to hold him close, but he only moved away.
"Stay away...!" With a sob, Garmadon stormed out of the room and into his own, clearly overwhelmed by everything that had been going on in his life. Oh, Lloyd...why...why did you have to leave me so early...
In the Departed Realm, Lloyd was sitting down and thinking about his father and how he cared for him. It warmed his heart to know that he loved him unconditionally. He let out a sigh. Father, I want to come back. More than anything. I miss you so much. He wanted to see him again. He didn't deserve to die prematurely.
"Lloyd!" Misako smiled softly as she neared her son.
"Mama!" Lloyd tightly embraced her.
"What happened, why are you here right now? Shouldn't you still be-"
"I died..." Lloyd lowered his head.
"What happened? I'm worried."
"I was poisoned...my powers were drained, and Father watched me pass..." Lloyd couldn't help but tear up just a little bit at the memory.
"Your father loves you..." Misako reassured.
"I know he does..." Lloyd smiled wistfully. "But I want to stay with him in Ninjago..." He sighed again. "I can't imagine the pain he's going though right now. He lost me twice already..."
"Oh, hon..." Misako cooed.
Lloyd buried his head into his mother's chest, softly crying. "Mama..."
"Shhhhh..." She ran a hand through his hair whispering softly.
"Lloyd..." Hikari slowly approached him. "I've been watching over your father, and I think it might be better if you and him remained immortal. They need someone to guide them. Clearly it isn't going so well without you by their side."
"You really can do that?" Lloyd asked longingly.
Hikari gave the Ultimate Spinjitzu Master a soft smile and nodded. He surrounded Lloyd with his elemental powers, transporting him back to the mortal realm.
Garmadon was still in his room, sobbing uncontrollably. Suddenly he heard a soft knock at the door. Then it opened.
"I'm here..."
