==Lap 52=
The following day, Seppuku entered the lobby of the base. He had decided to spend the night on Chiya's ship, as he had the desire to sleep in an actual bed. Seppuku rarely slept in a bed, rather he would usually sleep at his desk. After spending a few nights in an actual bed while at Fiona's, Seppuku realized what he was truly missing in the base. A comfortable way to sleep. What Seppuku now wondered, was whether this was enough to persuade him to finally purchase a bed, or if he would indeed start sleeping in Chiya's ship regularly.
Seppuku opened the door to the hallway and began marching down with solid footsteps, intending to head straight into his office. Seppuku glanced over at Chiya's room again and smirked, though he wasn't as excited as the previous day. While Chiya did typically annoy Seppuku, he couldn't help but somewhat miss seeing her-she was truly what lightened up the organization. Seppuku was now thinking that he could enjoy one more day without Chiya before he would somewhat miss her, the last two days he feels will be somewhat boring without her around.
Seppuku opened his office door, but immediately grunted at the sight of something straight ahead. Earl was sitting behind his desk on the phone with his hair very messy looking-he was holding his face as he grinded his teeth.
"Okay, but I don't have a week, I need to speak with this person now!" Earl hadn't noticed that Seppuku walked in, he simply stood still watching Earl-trying to figure out who he was speaking with on the phone. "Look, I don't care how much work the embassy might have to put into this, I need to speak with her today, not in a few days, today."
Seppuku lowered his eyebrows and crossed his arms. Earl was speaking with the Federation embassy that was on Mysteria-desperately trying to gain a connection with Chiya. Seppuku studied Earl's face with a startled look, he appeared overly exhausted, and his messy hair hinted that he was having a bad day.
"This is serious, I have reason to believe that my friend is in grave danger, it is mandatory that I speak with her today!"
Seppuku then sighed and began walking over to his desk. Earl roughly held his face and growled, "Dammit, procedures, procedures, procedures, I don't care! I've been waiting to speak with the embassy all day, I've had to make countless calls, and I've literally spoken with every-"
Earl then gasped as Seppuku stole the phone away from him, hanging it up immediately. Earl glared at Seppuku and growled. "What the Hell man!"
Seppuku stared Earl in the eyes and gritted his teeth, "Bendek, your eyes and hair, you look like you're high or something."
Earl's eyes were very bloodshot, he had a very dazed look on his face as well. He then sighed and crossed his arms at Seppuku, "Is it really morning already?"
Seppuku smirked, "Bendek, it's the afternoon…"
Earl rubbed the back of his head and sighed, "I- I haven't slept, I couldn't sleep."
"Well go do that, you look like a zombie," he shrugged his shoulders at Earl, "If you insist, go sleep in Chiya's bed-it's much more comfortable than yours."
Earl held his forehead and let out a heavy sigh, "I couldn't sleep last night, I- I just kept freaking out, I still am…"
"Over what? Little Flower?"
"She could be dead Seppuku, and it'd be all my fault, I'd never see her again, never get to spend time with her again, never-" Seppuku slammed his hand down loudly on his desk, Earl then stopped speaking and cleared his throat, "I've been trying to contact her ever since, but to no avail…"
Seppuku then handed Earl some credits, "J- just go Earl, leave."
Earl widened his eyes, taking offense to this, "Where?"
"Mysteria, go, get back there right this instant." Earl grunted and looked down at the money, "You obviously have some disturbing obsession over Chiya, so go and invade her privacy-if it'll calm you down."
Earl grabbed his forehead and sighed, "I can't do that, I just can't…" he then raised his head up and sighed, "All I want to know, is that she's okay. That's it."
Seppuku pushed the money closer to him, "Leave."
Earl shook negatively, "No, because I don't have some obsession over Chiya, I'm just really scared! Scared that I may lose her."
Seppuku sighed and stepped away from the desk, "Whatever, either way, I want you outta' my desk."
Earl hesitantly stood up and sighed again, "I'm not just scared though…" he swallowed and dipped his head down, "I really do miss her, and it's only been a few days."
"Obsession."
Earl narrowed his eyes at Seppuku, "It's not obsession, it's-"
"True love."
Earl grinded his teeth at him, then swished his hand at him, "Done with you."
Seppuku chuckled at him, "Either go to Mysteria, or get some rest, but don't come back to me until you've got yourself under control."
Earl stood still for a few moments, he began to brush his hair back down as he yawned. He then nodded and rubbed his chin, "Say, mind if I go spend this cash at the Gambling Area?"
Seppuku shrugged, "Sure, if it'll calm you the Hell down."
Earl lowered his eyebrows and nodded, "Well then, guess I'll just go and gamble now then…" He turned around and began walking down the hallway, Earl lowered his eyebrows and sighed.
"Maybe it is obsession…" he sighed once more and shook negatively, "I wonder if she misses me at all…"
Chiya was sitting at the kitchen table with her sketchbook down in front of her. She had her arms both planted on the table with her head dipped all the way down onto her arms. She had a very bland look on her face as she sketched with minimal effort. She then sighed and dropped her pencil, she was finding sketching very hard to do at this moment. She simply lowered her eyelids with a depressed look and sighed once more.
Fiona momentarily walked into the kitchen with a newspaper in her hand. She walked up to the counter next to the oven and grabbed a cup, momentarily filling it with tea. Fiona then grunted at the sound of Chiya sighing again. Fiona grabbed her cup of tea and spun around quickly, somewhat frightened at the sight of her daughter in such a glum mood.
"Something wrong dear?"
Chiya was tapping her right fingers down constantly, hesitating to respond to the question. She then let out a disgruntled exhale and remained still.
"I miss Earl…"
Fiona lowered her eyebrows sadly and momentarily walked up to her, patting her shoulder a few times, "Oh sweetie, but imagine how great it will feel when you two reunite in three days."
Chiya let out a saddened groan at the mentioning of there being three days left, "I know, it'll be so romantic, just like in the movies…" she replied softly.
"Do you think he might, you know…" Chiya then glanced up at her and raised an eyebrow, "Propose?"
Chiya let out a gasp and rubbed her forehead, "Na-ah, that's out of character for someone like him, he would make that a surprise like everything else."
"That wouldn't be a surprise to you?"
Chiya placed her finger on her chin and thought about this more carefully, "Huh…"
Fiona let out a soft chuckle and smiled at her, "Don't assume this is going to happen, but the way I see it," she put her hand on Chiya's shoulder, "If Earl creates a romantic moment with you the first minute you two have your reunion-then you're probably soul mates, if he just greets you and shakes hands, you're probably in the friend zone."
Chiya lowered her eyebrows nervously, "F- friend zone? What's th- but we've kissed before."
"Don't worry Chiya, I know that Earl has feelings for you-think of it more like a fun game."
Chiya smiled and nodded, "So if he does something romantic with me right away, we're soul mates, if he doesn't, we're just friends?"
Fiona shrugged at her, "Doesn't mean anything, really, just a little fun test you can try out."
Chiya chuckled and nodded, "Oh Mom, you're so silly…"
Fiona chuckled back and momentarily sat down. Chiya now had her body more raised up and was now out of the emotional slump. Fiona tapped her fingers down a few times and smirked.
"Would you like me to show you how to make a Yellow Rice Salad?" Chiya revealed a look of intrigue, "Both Earl and the Lieutenant would love it if you could make this."
Chiya crossed her arms and quirked her mouth, "Seppuku isn't as easy to please as Earl."
Fiona stood up and grabbed Chiya's shoulders, "Come on, let's make a Yello-"
Chiya stood up and shook negatively, "Maybe later, I'm determined to find Michael Chain today."
Fiona frowned then nodded, "Very well, so you'll be trying both leads out then?"
"Yes, starting with the one in New Ediburgh-but I'm sure I'll end up going to Engelland anyways." Chiya took out her handgun and made sure that it was full of bullets, "If I can deal with Chain and free you of Don Genie, we can just spend the last three days cooking and stuff."
Fiona bowed to her, "Perhaps you want to consider finding this Edward fella' that got you the second lead."
Chiya nodded, "Maybe, I wouldn't mind having a brainiac like him helping me again."
Fiona slowly narrowed her eyes suspiciously, "He-e's, not trying to get something from you, is he?"
"No, he's in his late thirties and married."
Fiona exhaled, "Good."
Chiya stretched and let out a heavy exhale, prepared to get on with her mission once more. She then began walking towards the door with nothing else to say. Secretly, one of the real reasons Chiya was so frantic on getting the mission done quickly, was so she could concentrate on protecting her Mom from Dark Rose. Chiya didn't feel safe anywhere, not even in her own bedroom, she felt that Dark Rose could be lurking around anywhere.
About half an hour later, Chiya walked down the streets of New Edinburgh. She had the address to the store that supposedly sold the engine parts to Michael Chain, however, Chiya didn't understand how to track down addresses very well-she was looking at every single sign she could find for the correct street. Along with the struggle of finding the street, Chiya was becoming exhausted from carrying the engine everywhere she went. She was becoming both frustrated and tired, now wondering why she even got out of her machine in the first place.
"Dammit, why can't we have taxis going around like in the big American cities?" she complained aloud.
Chiya then got a dreamy look on her face, fantasizing as she walked. Me and Earl should start off together in Las Vegas… Chiya knew little about the American continent on Earth—only that everything was different there. Las Vegas was the city she heard most about, it is a large metropolis just like Mute City and even featured a race track of its own. What Chiya didn't know, was that the final race of the Grand Prix would be bringing the three to Las Vegas. Chiya pouted and sighed, Except Earl hates America… she reminded herself sadly.
Chiya initially thought Earl might like Las Vegas because of his fascination for gambling, but Earl had his own set of standards—being a very Asia only kind of person. Earl commonly stereotyped all Americans as: loud, obnoxious, and living the redneck lifestyle. He also believed that they made everything to large, such as the food and buildings. Chiya was for the most part, led to believe that Earl had been to America before, and likely had a bad experience there. Chiya only arrived at Mute City because the Mysterian embassy ship she was snuck onto was traveling there. If it were Chiya's choice, she would have picked America to live in.
Chiya bumped into a man while thinking, she immediately dropped the box on the ground and gasped.
"Sorry!"
She reached for the box again, but the man then lifted it up and handed it to her. The two then gasped after looking each other in the eyes. It was Bart Lemming.
"Bart!"
Bart gritted his teeth in shock, and then smirked, "Ms. Flower."
Chiya beamed at him excitedly, "What are you doing in New Edinburgh?"
"I was here for the Soccer game and F-Zero race—good work by the way." Chiya smiled at him, he then brushed his hair, "I'm an adventurer, you see, so I wanted to enjoy my time on this isolated planet for as long as I could—but I'm leaving back for Earth later in the evening."
Chiya gasped and grabbed his shoulder, "Bart! Can you ple-ease tell Earl that I miss him?" Bart smirked at her, "Please tell him Bart, our base is the building-"
"I know where your base is, don't worry."
Chiya widened her eyes, but brushed this off with an exhale of relief, "Thank you, I don't get to see him for three more days, and I just have a feeling that he's panicking about me."
"He is."
"H- he is?"
Bart nodded at her, "Was in the café last night, latest I ever saw him show up," he then chuckled and crossed his arms together, "I know all about your situation, with Michael Chain and Don Genie."
Chiya lowered her eyebrows, she felt that Bart could and would help her, but she had something else on her mind, "What did Earl say? Is he scared? Angry? Does he miss me? I need to know."
"Earl seems more scared for you than he does miss you."
Chiya dropped her arms and got a disappointed look, "Oh…"
Bart continued to stare at her, then smirked and closed his eyes, "But don't worry, knowing Earl Bendek, he isn't a patient person—and I could tell that there was more than fear in his eyes when I saw him."
"So he does miss me then?"
"Of course he does, you're his only friend."
Chiya closed her eyes and smiled, she was happy to know that he did miss her—but she was more so hoping that he was dying without her, seeing as to how much Chiya missed him.
"I sure miss h-"
"Ms. Flower," another person greeted.
Chiya then grunted as Edward had came walked in, forming a triangle. Chiya smiled at him and waved, relieved that she would have someone to help her now. Bart nodded at Chiya and saluted her.
"I'll tell Earl that you're okay and that you miss him," concluded Bart.
Chiya exhaled again in relief, she then patted his shoulder, "Thank you…"
"Farewell, Chiya."
Bart then left the area, leaving Chiya and Edward alone together. Edward turned his head at her and moved his glasses down, "I assume my information wasn't much help to you then?"
Chiya shook negatively, "I have my own lead in this town, then I'm gonna' try yours." She then handed him the address and raised an eyebrow, "Where can I find this street?"
Edward pointed at his vehicle, "Come along, I'll take you."
Chiya lowered her eyebrows, still somewhat suspicious of his intentions. Well, so far he's both saved me and helped me in my mission, he must just be a nice guy… She nodded reluctantly and began moving towards his vehicle alongside him.
"Michael Chain," the store owner answered.
Chiya bounced up and smiled, "Yes! That's him! Where do I find him?"
Edward and Chiya were standing alongside each other inside of a mechanics store, the purpose of the store was to sell the parts that made up vehicle components. Such as: Rotors, gears, wires, and other tiny metal parts.
"Michael Chain eh'? Very friendly man, came from Mute City with some dark past he refuses to speak about."
Chiya lowered her eyebrows and growled, "Very friendly? In what- er- where do I find him?" she asked again.
The store owner shrugged, "I'm afraid I can't tell you, he works somewhere out in the country making machine parts, mostly for formula machines."
Chiya rubbed the back of her head and grunted, "N- nothing about guns or gang members?"
Edward seemed intrigued as well, hinting to Chiya that he indeed knew about Michael Chain and his line of work. What boggled Chiya's mind in this case, was how Edward would know about Michael Chain at all—as Mysteria censored anything that came from outside of the planet and not approved of the government.
"Gang? No, the Bloody Chain is a bunch of hard working bodybuilders—and they excel at what they do." He then chuckled and looked at Edward, "Funny, he used to be an F-Zero racer—looks like Mysteria has two F-Zero pilots now."
Chiya didn't shed any emotion at the compliment, she was now completely sidetracked with the mentioning of Chain once again being a good person. It was becoming clear that something was terribly wrong, Michael Chain had stated in prison that he was going to reform the Bloody Chain on Mysteria—though all she was hearing about was what a gentleman he was.
"So you can't help us track him?"
"No, sorry…"
Chiya nodded and looked up at Edward, "We need to get to Engelland then, if that's okay with you…"
Edward nodded at her, "I know right where to find this agency, the real trick will be getting them to surrender the information on Chain."
Chiya swallowed nervously, her quest was so close to completion—but she couldn't help but feel that she was becoming cornered with this idea that Michael Chain was a good person. All she cared about was getting her mother out of debt, and to finally kill the gang leader, like she have a year ago when he was at gun point.
Only about twenty minutes later, Chiya and Edward approached the city known as Engelland—the town Chiya went to regularly for school, varsity soccer, friends, and shopping. Her eyes were quivering in disbelief at the city, all she could think about was the smoke and debris that surrounded the city. The horrifying memories of families being blown to pieces by bombs, towers collapsing, her dad getting blown apart, and Abby crying.
Edward softly punched her shoulder, "Alright?"
Chiya slowly nodded, but decided not to speak about her past. She exhaled at the completely reconstructed city, it looked much more simple than she remembered. At the time of her high school life, Engelland was the capital of Mysteria with the best looking buildings on the planet. Now it was a mere village of what it once was. Chiya could see a rebuilt school district off to the side, she was surprised to see that the soccer field was exactly as she remembered it—only the stands were different looking on the account that they were destroyed by the bombs.
"Wow…" she muttered in disbelief.
Mere minutes later, the two came to a hard stop next to a small building. Chiya gasped at how hard he hit the brakes, she then glared at him.
"My apologies."
Chiya nodded and looked out at the building; they had made it to the agency building. This was likely the final leg of her mission. Edward got out and opened the door for her, Chiya then stepped out and took a sniff of the air. She exhaled with a smile and nodded.
"The smell of my hometown, I haven't forgot-"
"Come along Ms. Flower, time's a'wastin!"
Chiya widened her eyes and nodded in agreement, they then ran into the building.
Both Chiya and Edward immediately ran up to the receptionist desk, there was a woman in black hair sitting tall. She smiled at the two and waved her hand greetingly.
"'Ello!"
Chiya slammed her fist down, "I need to know where to find someone."
"Like, a worker, manager, CEO?"
"No, Michael Chain, he took out a loan from here and I need to know where to find him."
The woman lowered her eyebrows and opened up a page about Michael Chain, but she shook her head negatively, "While I do have that information, I can't just give it to you without his permission-can I call him first?"
Chiya widened her eyes and began to shake negatively, Edward then held out his wallet and showed her a card. Chiya raised an eyebrow and tried reading what the card said, but he quickly put it away. The woman then nodded her head.
"Sorry…"
She printed out a paper quickly and handed it to Chiya. Chiya blinked a few times in confusion and rubbed her forehead, she then looked down at the paper. And there it was. Michael Chain's current place of residency was listed right on the paper, along with his phone number and basic information. Chiya bowed to the woman and immediately turned towards the door again. Edward immediately lowered his eyebrows and pursued her.
The two got outside of the building, Chiya tucked the paper in her shorts and reentered Edward's vehicle. Edward immediately got inside and leaned over towards her.
"Excellent, now we can kill this bloody bastard."
Chiya widened her eyes at his sudden cussing, she then lowered her eyebrows and nodded, "Yes, well I'm tackling this on my own." She then smirked at him, "You've been an amazing help to me, please bring me back to New Edinburgh."
Edward grunted, "Yo- you do plan on killing him, don't you?" Chiya nodded affirmatively. Edward then smirked, "Good."
Chiya pointed at him with a strict look, "Later this evening, show up at my house, I'll give you the end results of my mission and reward you for your services."
Edward nodded and adjusted his glasses, momentarily driving off with her.
It had only been half an hour later, Chiya was now driving down the fields of Mysteria with a determined look. She had the Purring Kitten on maximum speed and a gun loaded with bullets, she had every intention of taking Chain out, grabbing what Don Genie wanted from his dead body, and save her mom from debt. Once a gang leader, always a gang leader… she reminded herself with an angry look.
Chiya had spared Michael Chain a year ago when she had him at gunpoint, though she had shot both of his knees-which temporarily had disabled him. Chiya now had every intention to finish the job. She would indeed be the one to kill both the Red Star and Bloody Chain leader-only Brock was recreated. Chiya glanced up at the red flower she had up on the dashboard and lowered her eyebrows-she had forgotten that she also served Seppuku. If she played her card rights, she would be making Seppuku, Jody, Fiona, and Don Genie all happy with one simple slaughter.
"I- I'm going to make everyone proud…" she muttered softly.
She then gasped as she looked far up the field, she could see a fairly primitive looking barn up ahead past some fields. Chiya was assuming that she'd have to fight through several of Chain's muscular goons. The first time in months, she knew that she would be going down memory lane. Chiya swallowed nervously and narrowed her eyes, she knew that stealth would be the key.
Meanwhile inside of the barn, several muscular men were beginning to scatter around and somewhat panic. And there he was, Michael Chain stood up from a chair and growled, momentarily walking past his goons.
"What is it?" he asked coldly.
One of his men began to flail his hand out towards the field, "A machine! An F-Zero machine! The Federation found us!"
Chain gritted his teeth and grunted as he could see the headlights of the machine quickly moved towards the barn from a distance. Chain crossed his arms together and quirked his mouth. He then gasped as he could just slightly make out the shape of the machine, he lowered his sunglasses with quivering eyes and continued to grunt in shock.
"Wha- what..?" he muttered in shock.
Chiya narrowed her eyes angrily and grabbed her handgun out, prepared to simply leap out of her machine and assault the barn. She opened the cockpit of her machine up and ducked slightly, making sure she wouldn't be hit by any oncoming bullets. She was coming up on some hedgerow bushes and did a power slide right through them, completely crushing them. She didn't even turn off her machine, rather she just leaped out and took cover behind it. She could instantly see several of the heavily muscled gang members and gritted her teeth. She was instantly sent into shock at something however, most of them were panicking and running around-without weapons.
Chiya raised an eyebrow, then growled as she ran up with her gun firmly in her hands, "Everyone stay still or I'll shoot!" she ordered loudly.
She then grunted in shock, every single one of his goons stood still and held their hands up in the air-some even trembling. She widened her eyes and looked left to right constantly. Many of them looked downright frightened by her. She lowered her eyes suspiciously. I see some of these guys are wearing the Bloody Chain muscle shirts, some of these men are veterans of the Bloody Chain, but I don't remember them being this startled…
Chiya then took a few steps forward while aiming at everyone, she was gripping her handle very tightly-expecting that one of them would try and disarm her. She then gasped again and stopped, many of them were now stepping out of her way. She then growled and stomped her foot down.
"Bloody Hell! Why aren't you guys fighting me?"
No one responded to her, most of them simply returning nervous looks. She scanned the area and found that many machine parts were scattered across the ground-many of which had tools surrounding them. They were without a doubt building engines and such at this location. She then gritted her teeth nervously and continued towards the barn.
Chiya stood in front of the entrance and narrowed her eyes, there was a man sitting in a wooden chair near the stables. It was Michael Chain, he simply had his head dipped down and arms crossed. Chiya glared at him and began walking towards him with her gun trained at his head. This is it… she thought in amazement. Michael Chain was the one that shot Seppuku previously, which was how Chiya ended up at Seppuku's base in the first place, how she ended up working with Earl, how she got an F-Zero machine, a license, and a new life. Now she was about to kill this man.
Chiya aimed the handgun straight at Chain's forehead and nodded. May God have mercy on y-
"Time flies, doesn't it Chiya..?" he said calmly, interrupting her thought.
Chiya grunted and looked back for a moment, his men were all watching this go down-but not intervening. Chiya swallowed and looked back at him, "What?"
Chain then smirked and chuckled slightly, "I feel like it was only yesterday that…" he glanced up at her and got a bigger grin, staring at her gun intensely, "I was an F-Zero racer, had the biggest gang in the universe, had the best mechanics, the best F-Zero parts, the best weapons…" He removed his sunglasses again, showing his eyes to Chiya for the first time, "Then I met you, who in the end, has come to kill me."
Chiya growled at him and cocked her handgun, prepared to cap him in the forehead, "It's over Chain, you had a chance to live while in prison, now you just screwed yourself by running."
Chain then chuckled again and held up a lighter, momentarily burning a cigar in his mouth. Chiya stuck her tongue out in disgust at the tobacco use, not only was she opposed to drinking-but she was also opposed to smoking.
"How does it feel? Two gang leaders, tonight, you will have brought the end of two gangs, with that one gun."
Chiya nodded, this was indeed the same gun she had used to kill Brock with aboard the Red Star HQ. Chain then crossed his arms again and smirked, "Do you feel right doing this Chiya? Killing a reborn man with dreams?"
Chiya gasped and shook negatively, "G- gangs are illegal!"
Chain stood up slowly and carefully, showing fear of getting shot still-yet he retained a smirk, "There is no more gang Chiya."
"W- what now?"
Chain exhaled and nodded, "I escaped from prison that day with the intentions of starting my gang up again, but when I got to Mysteria, and learned that I had no criminal record here…" Chiya sighed at him, knowing exactly where he was going with the story, "I came here with my boys, even recruited some new ones, but, for the first time in years-I was a free man, I could roam the streets of Mysteria without being arrested. These people have no idea what crimes I committed in Federation territory."
Chiya's hands began to tremble, but was still aiming at him, "You mean- ?"
Chain nodded at her, "I never realized how nice your life is, not being hated by everyone-so the Bloody Chain went from a gang, into a professional machine part organization." Chiya gasped and looked back at the group, many of them were nodding affirmatively, Chiya then looked back at Chain, "People respect us here, for good reasons, because we supply Mysteria with over-the-top engines, reactors, boosters, and other goodies."
Chiya lowered her eyebrows and sighed, "So what you're saying is, you just want to, start over? As a good guy?"
Chain nodded, "This is my home now, I'm a hero here, not a villain." He quirked his mouth and nodded, "I realize now just what a jerk I was to the people of the Lower City, I realize that I've done crimes that shouldn't be forgiven, but I'm happy here…"
Chiya sighed and shook negatively, "I- I need to kill you though, so my Mom won't be in debt anymore with Don Genie…"
Chain nodded, "Fiona, a sweet woman who helped me through my debt before hers…"
Chiya then gasped and widened her eyes, "Wha- what? You know my Mom?"
Chain smirked at her, "Yes, she knew I was going to be killed by Genie if I didn't pay my debt back, so Flower decided to sacrifice her money and help me, throwing everything she had at me."
Chiya gasped and widened her eyes, Chain then looked Chiya in the eyes, "I just spoke with her two days ago…"
"What!?" Chain nodded at her.
Chiya nearly fell back in disbelief at what she was hearing, but she now understood this completely-and the answer was right in front of her. Fiona knew where Michael Chain was the entire time, but she couldn't bear to see Chiya kill him-this is also why she was so insistent that she speak with Chain first. As to why Fiona gave her the information Edward had obtained, was beyond her. Chiya dropped her gun on the ground and held her forehead.
"Oh my God…" she said in frustration.
Chain nodded at her, "So Genie wants me dead?" Chiya nodded affirmatively, but didn't respond. Chain then sighed and crossed his arms together, "As a way to pay off your mother?" Chiya nodded again.
Chain rubbed his chin and nodded, he then picked up Chiya's handgun and put it back in her hands. Chiya looked up at him as he stood still with a smirk. "I've turned over a new leaf, left all my old rivals behind, so for what it's worth Chiya…" he then held his large hand out towards her, "I'm sorry for causing you so much suffering in Mute City."
Chiya gasped and stared at his hand. This isn't happening, now he just wants to put everything behind us, and be friends..? Chain raised an eyebrow at her. Chiya's eyes then began to water, but she momentarily lifted her hand up and locked hands with him. They shook hands, leaving any past tensions behind them at long last. Chiya's mouth then began to quiver sadly as she dipped her head down.
"Well, that's it, I failed, Mom's as good as dead…"
Chain then squeezed her hand tightly and began to chuckle, "Oh, don't worry Chiya, we'll deal with it."
Chiya widened her eyes at her former enemy and gasped, "Wh- what!?"
Chain let go of her and stomped his foot down, "It's the least I can do to repay you for the troubles, remember, killings gangs is what we're good at, and his mafia is a gang afterall…"
Chiya remained still alongside him with an amazed look. After a year of hating Michael Chain, her hands were tied. It was time to patch things up with him and accept it. Michael Chain was now a good guy.
To be continued…
