"Ok, what's this plan of Becky's?" Kendall asked right the second his foot stepped over the kitchen threshold while he made a beeline for his wife and child, pressing a small kiss to Jo's lips and sitting down on the chair next to her.

Logan shook his head. "Don't ask..." He groaned. "It's an awful plan..."

Kendall looked around the room. Everyone seemed sick to their stomachs. Everyone except Becky. She had a rather disturbingly evil grin on her face. His eyes settled on her face as she puffed up her chest and took a breath to speak.

"I say we call your mother here." She explained looking right in Kendall's green eyes. "When she gets here, we fill her in then have Camille call Katie and tell her that you and your family went to pick your mother up and had a serious car crash." Becky beamed while nodding in the most determined of ways.

Kendall's jaw fell, his mouth wide open as he blinked once, twice, three times before he remembered he actually needed air to live and took a deep breath.

"What?" He asked on a soft whisper, his mind still frozen with the crazy idea.

"Listen. There is nothingin this world that Katie loves more than her family, right?" Kendall nodded, still not able to form proper words. "There's nothing she would not do for her family..."

"Well, yeah, but..." Kendall tried.

"Pregnant woman talking, not nice to interupt." Becky pointed to herself. "We lose track of our train of thought easily." Kendall clamped his mouth shut, his eyes bulging out of his head. "Ok, where was I?... Oh, yeah! So, when we - or, rather, Camille tells her that her family had an accident, there is no way in heaven and earth that she will not fly down here, right?" Kendall drew in a breath to reply. "Nodding will sufice." Kendall nodded as his eyes drifted behind Becky to Carlos' face.

The traitor was having fun at his expense, holding back his giggles over how his fiancee was treating him. When Carlos met his gaze, Kendall tried to get him to intervene and persuade Becky that this was a bad idea, but the Latin traitor left him to fend for himself - the treacherous traitor!

"She'll come down here and we'll make her see reason..."

"How?" Kendall finally asked when it was clear the Becky had nothing else to say.

"Excuse me?"

"How do you intend on convincing my sister to stay here with us after telling her that her family just had an accident?"

"I have no idea." Becky shrugged. "But I imagine your mother can talk some sense into her..." Kendall suddenly stood up and threw his arms in the air.

"You don't know my sister, Becky. Not even mom can get through to her. Once she's made a decission she'll see it through to the last consequence. And, while telling her we had an accident might get her here, it will also make Katie never forgive Camille for lying to her in such a way... and, eventually it will only serve to drive a precipice between her and us that no amount of love will be able to cross..." Kendall pulled at his own hair, closing his eyes, raising his face for the heavens, praying for a better idea.

"When she gets here we can have an intervension..." Becky offered with a small voice and significantly less self confidence. Kendall opened his eyes to look at her. He saw a small tear form in the corner of Becky's eyes. Carlos placed a hand on her cheek and wiped away the small tear.

"I tried to tell you, baby..."

"It's unreasonable, Becky. We can't play with Katie's heart like that." Jo spoke up, on the same tone she used to explain stuff to Jake.

"FINE!" Becky stood up. "You come up with a plan, then." She stormed out of the kitchen, tears in her eyes. Carlos sighed.

"Go after her." Logan said softly.

"And be gentle. Hormones can be a bitch." Jo instruicted sweetly. Carlos nodded.

"She meant no harm."

"We know, Los." Logan spoke up before Kendall could open his mouth. "It's just..." Carlos nodded understandingly as he left the room, shoulders slumped down, to find his future wife and calm her down.

"She's right though..." Kendall finally broke the silence that had fallen over them. Both Jo and Logan turned curious eyes on him. "There's nothing Katie wouldn't do for her family..."

"I smell plan." Logan grinned.

"Your nose needs a check-up." Kendall plopped down on the breakfast nook wooden couch that Carlos and Becky had vacated. "I have no idea what to do... aside from pure blackmail... or going back to LA..."

"What about the farm, Ken?" Jo asked quietly. "It's our home now..." Her voice was sad. And it broke Kendall's heart.

"Not all of us... maybe... just James should..."

"What should James do?" James asked from the doorway. "And why is Becky crying on Carlos' shoulder?" Logan sighed. Jo looked down at her sleeping baby. Kendall paled a little. "What's happening in this house while I'm off at work?"

Kendall drew in a heavy breath. "Becky came up with this plan..."

"Actually. I asked Becky to come up with a plan." Logan intervened. "To bring Katie back." Logan stood and faced James.

"Logan, I told you to leave it alone." James said quietly. His voice strong and clear, a definite sign of his anger.

"I can't, James." James glared down at his best friend.

Kendall felt the atmosphere change in the room and stood. He "rooted" himself right behind Logan. A quiet support for his shorter friend. Ready at any second to intervene between the two.

"You didn't leave it alone when I was upset. I won't..."

"I am NOT upset." James said in an eerly calm voice, his hands balling at his sides. "I am just fine."

"You barely smile anymore, James." Jo said softly from behind her husband. "You don't even seem to be enjoying your time with Midnight ever since Katie up and left." James' eyes narrowed to slits of hazel and Kendall clearly saw the level of self control he had to have right now.

"Jo. I. Am. Just. Fine. Stop. Meddling. All. Of. You." James spoke each word as if it was a sentence on its own before he turned on his heels and simply left the room.

Logan lowered his head to his chest. Kendall placed an arm around his shoulders.

"I can't, Kendall..."

"I'll call Mom. She must have a better idea... Or, at least... Maybe she could go stay with Katie for a while... Make sure she doesn't do anything stupid..."

"This is such a mess..." Logan said again as he raised his eyes to the door James had walked out of.

"James will be ok." Jo pointed out the window where James was already ridding Midnight over the fence of his meadow.
