Hashirama was in his office, going through a huge stack of paperwork with Madara, who was reading and approving or discarding certain documents, when there was a knock, a frantic knock on the door. Both men looked up from the documents in their hands, looked at each other, and then at the door with their eyebrows drawn together.
"Lord Hashirama, are you in there?" It was Kiayo. She sounded out of breath. Not only that, but she sounded a bit frantic. Worried, both men stood up.
"Kiayo, come in. Tell me what's going on." Hashirama called out, trying to keep his voice calm and friendly show that he wouldn't further worry the child. Madara had his arms crossed over his chest, his lips set into a firm line.
Neither one had to wait for even a second before the door opened, and Kiayo stood there, panting for a moment before she stepped in, and closed the door behind her. She looked at both Madara and then Hashirama for a moment before looking at Hashirama, speaking with as much control as she could muster.
"Tobirama told me to come back as fast as I could, and tell you that we need back up." She began, gaining control of her breathing. These words sent a worry through both men, who again looked at each other. Madara frowned at Hashirama, looking away. He hated to admit it to himself, but if Tobirama was asking back up... Whoever they were facing were obvious very high caliber shinobi. Hashirama sighed, and then looked at Kiyao with a more serious expression.
"Tell me what's happened that you need back up. That way I can know what team to assemble, and-"
"He said you need to back us up. He went to get AKari and Konya out of there. He said it was a situtation we couldn't handle." Kiayo interrupted Hashirama, who got a surprised expression before nodding, adopting a serious expression once agian.
"Alright. Tell me what's going on." He said. Kiayo nodded, and began telling him what had happened.

Soon after Kiayo told the story of what she knew, Hashirama was already removing his hiyori as he walked to the closet, opening it. He hung up his hiyori and hokage hat, and began to clink together his armor. Kiayo looked away with a slight blush as he stepped out of the room, clicking together his red armor.
"Madara, you don't mind staying here , do you?" Hashirama asked as soon as he opened the door, adjusting the armorm on his body as he glanced back at his old friend.
Madara hesitated. He wanted to tell Hashirama that he did mind staying. That he should be following after Hashirama to fight these bastards, but he looked at Kiayo, seeing her slightly scared and worried expression, and changed his mind. Kiayo needed him.
"No. Just send word if you need me to come as well." Madara said, putting his hands on Kiayo's shoulders.
Kiayo looked at Madara's gloved hands, and then up at him. He looked down at her with a firm expression. Kiayo looked away, feeling relieved that Madara was going to stay, and not leave to go off and fight.
"Alright. I will."Hashirama said firmly with a slight nod of his head. There seemed to be some sort of silent communication between the two for a moment before Hashirama was off.
Kiayo and Madara stood in silence for a few moments. She could feel Madara's gloved hand tighten on her shoulders for just a moment before relaxing slightly. It was as if Madara was silently telling her that he was happy she was ok and that she was safe. Kiayo smiled slightly, looking off for a moment.
"Do you have to finish the paperwork?" Kiayo questioned, noticing the stacks of papers for a moment, and then up at Madara. He looked at them, as if debating, and then at Kiayo with a slight shake of his head.
"No. That idoit is Hoakge. He can finish them when he gets back." Despite the words he spoke, Madara's tone still held a twinge of regret.
Kiayo pursed her lips, looking away. Not knowing, or understanding, what was going through the pre-teen's mind, Madara took the slight pouting as a slight annoyance. Did she not want to spend time with him? He then sighed, shaking his head as he chalked it up to just a woman's mood.
"Well... I don't think we should just stand here either." Kiayo said after a moment, dropping her pout for a slight smile as she walked towards the door. Madara looked at her for a moment as she paused, and then looked back at him." Do you suppose we can train together?" She questioned, grinning. Madara felt a wave of relief go over him as he smirked slightly, nodding.
"Only if you think you can keep up." He challenged, walking past her. He ruffled her hair for a moment, and then walked down the hall. Kiayo took a moment to fix her hair, and then grinned as she ran after him.

Kiayo huffed, putting her hands to her knees as they came to a slight pause in the training. Madara hardly seemed affected at all by the intense training, except for a small piece of sweat that was annoyingly dripping down his neck.
"Let's take a break." He suggested, relaxing his stance as he walked over to the familiar looking log where they usually sat together during their breaks in training/
"I'm getting stronger." Kiayo noted after a few moments. A slight smile was on her face as she felt some energy come to her.
"Well, you're training more. Of course you're gonna get stronger. You're also my blood. I wouldn't expect anything less." Madara said after another smiling ever so slightly as he glanced over at her, putting a hand on her head. Once again Kiayo dodged his hand, grinning teasingly at him.
"I think I'm a bit too old to fall for that old trick." She said with a grin, sticking her tongue out. Madara nodded, setting his hand down on his lap.
"So it would seem." He replied, looking away with a slight smile. Kiayo glanced at him with a curious tilt to her head, and then looked forward as well.
"You used to train with my father. Am I anything like him? Ability wise, I mean." Kiayo asked after a slight pause, glancing over at Madara, who seemed pretty taken off gaurd with the question. Then again, she hadn't really asked much about Izuna or Madara's past in a long while.
"In some ways, yes. In other ways, no." He answered cryptically, glancing over at Kiayo, who was just looking at him with an eyebrow raised.
"You always say that." She replied with a slight pout to her lips as she looked away. Madara also looked away for a moment, closing his eyes for a moment. He then opened his eyes and looked at the sky as he spoke.
"Like I've always said, Izuna was very strong and very skilled. The only shinobi better than him in the clan was me, obviously." Kiayo glanced back over at Madara, who was still staring at the tree line with a masked expression. After another few moments passed, Madara looked back at Kiayo." In the sense of being very skilled and strong, you are like him." He answered with a grin.
Kiayo felt a surge of pride go through her. She fought to keep the huge grin that was threatening to spread across her face from doing just that, but she kept the small grin.
For a few moments, there was peaceful silence. Kiayo turned towards Madara, opening her mouth to ask something, but he was already standing up, his back towards her as he looked in the direction where Hashirama more than likely was fighting with Tobirama. Kiayo dropped the grin as she became serious herself. SHe felt some worry go through her.
As she stood to stand up, the ground suddenly shook violently, causing her to fall hard to the ground. Her teeth clanked together painfully. She let out a painful groan as she attempted to stand again, only for the same thing to happen once more.
Madara was quick to her side, helping her stand on her feet. She gripped his sleeve until she felt steady on her feet.
"Are you alright?" He questioned, still looking in that same direction. Kiayo looked at him, and then nodded. He nodded slightly, letting go of her.
"I don't understand what's happening." Kiayo said, her eyebrows drawing together." Something feels... If feels so off." Kiayo said, unable to describe the feeling of the charka in the air. Madara looked at Kiayo, and then closed his eyes as he began to feel around. Indeed, something felt off. Something felt too achingly familiar...
"Stay safe." He said, glancing at her. Kiayo wasn't sure how to feel, but nodded anyways as she pursed her lips.
A few moments passed where there was tense silence. Kiayo suddenly became acutely aware of her surroundings. The slight breeze that blew suddenly blew in felt as through it was getting stronger. Not only that, but she suddenly was able to sense a sense of fear. Of tense hate. Of intense... Evil. Even the very air that she breathed seemed to carry the ill will.
"Papa Madara... Something doesn't feel right." Kiayo whispered, suddenly feeling as though she was a young child as she reached out to grip Madara's dark sleeve. He looked at her hand that gripped his sleeve tightly, and then at her face, which was scrunched up, as if she was trying to make sense of what he knew was happening.
"It'll be alright." He said softly, resting a hand on her shoulder.
There just another moment of silence before the ground shook violently. Madara was barely able to hold his ground, and before Kiayo could hit the ground again, he held her securely in his arms. Kiayo looked at the ground, and then up.
As soon as Kiayo looked up, her eyes wide as a nearby building was blown away. The ground shook again, the sounds of yelling was heard. Kiayo looked up at Madara, noticing his intense expression.
"Papa Madara, I don't understand what's happening." She said, biting her lips.
"It's ok. Everyhting's going to be ok." He said, stroking her hair slightly. Kiayo felt like a little child, but didn't mind.
"Madara!" Both Kiayo and Madara turned to look at Hikaku, who looked a bit panicked."Orders of Tobirama and Lord Hashirama, all civilians, elderly, children under sixteen, and anyone who can't fight are to be evacuated to the safety bunkers. I'm here escorting the Uchiha to the safety bunkers before helping anyone else. Kiayo?" Hikaku held out his hand. Kiayo looked up at Madara, who looked at her, nodding slightly.
"Go. I'll be back for you." Kiayo nodded, taking Hikaku's hand as he rushed to the bunker.
