Summary: Lily was not who everyone thought she was, but she would do anything to protect her baby. Yet, on that fateful Halloween night, ancient magic of the Slytherin family saves Harry and now he's to grow up in another time. He's raised by his ancestor. What happens when he rejoins his time?
Notes: As a friend of mine has stated, there are certain languages that seemed to not be used often. This is because you don't hear them as much; Balthezar's main languages of use are Old English and Old Norse. You see that he only uses the others depending on who he's talking to. Now this doesn't mean that languages like Latin or Old Welsh will disappear, it just means he's not necessarily around the people who speak them. Don't worry however; there are parts of this story that will still call for the other languages.
Modern English: "…"
Old English: ^…^
Old Norse: -…-
Old Welsh: *…*
Latin: ~…~
Parseltongue: Bold!
Thoughts: '…' (all thoughts, doesn't matter language)
Chapter 52
Balthezar let out a breath as he stepped into the Werewolf camp. The group was running around with a sense of urgency that he hadn't seen before. He frowned and tilted his head to the side as he watched the group run around. He then realized that the people were likely heading to Rain Valley Isle. He watched as they continued to run around, but a person walking up to him soon pulled his attention away from the action.
He turned his head and saw Ambrosia coming towards him. "There you are, Balthezar. People are getting ready to leave. Well, those that wish to take refuge on Rain Valley Isle. It's mainly the children, women, and elders that will be leaving. The rest plan to stay." He nodded. That made sense to him. He could understand why that group of people would leave. Then again, he also believed that some of younger men would be leaving as well. He just didn't think that Ambrosia would ever say that out loud.
Balthezar looked at the people again. There was something about what he was watching that brought the situation home to him. He hadn't thought that everything would begin in such a way. It was as if everything was rushing towards the end instead of slowing down. He shook his head. "This is all a little…Overwhelming." Ambrosia set a hand on his shoulder. He looked at her again. Yet, he found that he couldn't stare at her for very long. He looked away and saw Blaise helping some people. He nodded to Ambrosia and made his way towards the teen that had helped him in the beginning.
Blaise looked at him. ~Hello.~ Balthezar nodded to him. He wasn't sure what he would say, but he knew that he needed to say something.
Balthezar then sighed. ~Hello, are you leaving as well?~ He watched as his friend's posture stiffened. He shook his head. ~Don't take that the wrong way, Blaise. You're welcome to go somewhere safe. I wouldn't want you to stay here when you would rather leave and not fight. I have to be here, but you don't need to stay.~ He watched his friend's body language. The teen's back remained stiff as he frowned. The truth was that Balthezar wanted the teen to leave and go to Rain Valley Isle.
Blaise shrugged after a moment. ~I haven't decided yet. I have a couple of days to think about it first.~ Balthezar nodded. He could understand that Blaise wanted some time to think things through , which was an action that Balthezar approved of.
Balthezar nodded again. ~I understand what you're saying. Now, please let me help as well.~ He then began to help Blaise with moving someone's things. After all, there was much to be done and he would help when he could.
Dumbledore's Office
Dumbledore stood in front of the window that faced the Forbidden Forest. It was a position that he had been using many times over the past several weeks. He looked intently at the dark forest that had been a part of Hogwarts grounds since the beginning. He knew who was in that forest and also knew that he had to find some way to get that person on his side.
The door to his office opened. He looked over his shoulder and was greeted with the sight of Alastor Moody. "Ah, Alastor, it is good of you to come and visit. We have to get moving. We need to get into that forest and get the boy." He turned to face his heavily scarred friend.
Moody nodded. "Aye, I figure that we do. We should get this plan of yours moving." Dumbledore nodded. He moved away from the window and picked up a piece of parchment.
He held it out to Moody. "Take this, make sure that the others get it. It's important and will make sure that everyone knows what to do." Moody took it and left the room without so much as a goodbye. Dumbledore turned towards the window and smirked.
Voldemort's Lair
The Dark Lord was scowling as he stared at two men. He didn't seem to like what they had said. He turned away from them with his arms behind his back. The scowl on his face morphed into one of disgust. He stood there for a moment, his face slowly changing to that of an emotionless mask.
He finally spun around and faced the others. "So, you're telling me that the headmaster and ministry are moving against something at Hogwarts. Well, we'll take advantage of that. Severus, Lucius, make sure that you're in on it. I want to know everything. I will find my wayward child and get him to my side." He then began to laugh in a manner that caused both Lucius and Severus to straighten. Neither made a move as the man continued to laugh. After all, it wouldn't do to upset their master.
A/N: Well, it's officially moving. Hope that you all enjoyed. Later.
