Part 2. This one was a bit more idea based, everyone trying to get around that one goal that they want. But in the end no-one has read it yet. But I do have a thought. How would anyone know that they are the first reader? For reviews it's fairly obvious but sometimes the reader doesn't review or anything like that so in the end we still don't know.

Still that's just a random thought I had.

Hmm….I hope that those that read this have that hope in their hearts when they read. But sometimes you just have to know when you are cutting your losses. I think I should check out who reviewed first…..but I don't think I could do that with the favourites and followers. But in the end everything that makes this project go on is the support that I have.

But here we are again! With last chapter being the 'first meeting' there are still a number of things that could possibly be addressed. Of course there were a number of complaints from last chapter, especially regarding Shirai's actions towards Touma and the matter of payment…..all of which have been solved in this here chapter! I'm not a complete Touma sadist…..although one of these days I want to establish a bunch of dream sequences where Touma recollects of his true despair.

Expect some truly horrific things there. I'll be unleashing the sadist that is building up there to be honest. Not sure if that is a good thing…

But also note this, the fact that I'm releasing this arc means that the next one has already been finished in terms of draft. That's how I usually do things so I wait until the next arc is done in draft before positing the previous one, the one that you guys are reading. The main reason I do this is to prevent any long gaps between updates so I hope that you enjoy this arc with that point in mind!

Anyway thanks to everyone that has gone this far and thanks to PokeRescue18, my beta reader, for his overwhelming contribution as well. And in the end, I will give you the content that you want to read. I hope that this wait was worth it.

Enjoy.

Mr Question Mark.

It was a miracle!

Kamijou Touma had actually attended school without injury for two days in a row!

Things had been normal initially however when Komoe-sensei had read out his name on the roll call, he had literally jumped up in joy that his attendance had actually reached this point. Of course while one could see it as being the point where he had actually attended for this long, the reality meant that he did not attend school at that much which was something of a disappointment for the small teacher at the front of the room, the boy who was elated did not care that much. While his grades were terrible, that still didn't hinder his want to actually reach the next grade.

And no one wanted to destroy that illusion that he held. After all if that was the case, then who would absorb the class's misfortune? Of course when one looked at Kamijou, it was hardly something that one would call normal.

He had a bandage strapped to the side of his face and bite marks all over his face as well. His hair seemed to have escaped most of the damage however it seemed that his uniform had not been so lucky, something that looked like a claw mark on it. What the hell had happened to him?

To be honest though, when he had woken up from his unconscious state, it had been Shirai Kuroko that he had first seen. He had expected her to tell him to not get into trouble and then scold him however she had apologised for her superior's actions before apologising for her own. And before Kamijou had spoken another word, she had teleported away.

He found it strange at the time, almost as if there had been a large change in her mood towards him. He felt that he hadn't done anything to warrant such an apology however the fact of the matter was that while he placed little importance on his own actions, the way that others viewed them truly determined who 'Kamijou Touma' was.

If anything, Othinus had showed him that much. Yet he still truly believed he was an ordinary high school boy.

He still worried for the young Judgment member and had made a mental note to ask her if anything was troubling her the next time he was her…something that he hoped would not prevent him from having attendance.

"C-Calm down Kamijou-chan! Since when are you excited to get to school? Did you swallow something bad while sensei wasn't looking?" said Komoe-sensei from the front of the room.

Kamijou on the other hand merely sat down with a smug look on his face. He nodded to himself. "Yep. If I keep this up then I won't have to repeat a grade." Tsuchimikado gave him a look that seemed to suggest that it was not the case and Kamijou immediately lashed out at the boy verbally. N-No, that illusion of his was not going to be destroyed! He had to protect it at all costs!

"What? You think that I will? This Kamijou-san is committed towards making sure that at least tries to pass the minimum requirement for the classes need to get into the next year!" he said with confidence.

"Kami-yan, since when do you actually pass any of the tests?" asked Aogami Pierce where he sat. "You're a Level 0. If getting good marks led to becoming a harem magnet then I wouldn't hold back either!" he said with confidence.

"Pfh. How can you even say that? You keep on not bringing the homework in." said Kamijou up front.

"W-What?!" said Komoe from the front of the room. "What are you talking about Kamijou-chan?!" she exclaimed. She looked at Aogami with something that looked as though it was complete betrayal in her eyes as she looked towards Aogami.

Aogami turned around and his face was incredibly twisted to that of anger. "You idiot! You weren't supposed to tell her! D-Don't tell me that you told Komoe-sensei that I gave you the address to her house that one time?"

"You did WHAT?!" exclaimed the class as they looked towards Kamijou and Komoe-sensei. Their faces were twisted into a somewhat horrified look as they glanced between the two of them.

"D-Don't tell me…You…and…Kamijou?" No one knew who said it however that thought went through all of their minds.

Komoe went red in the face and clutched the folder that she was holding in her hands. "W-What? S-Sensei doesn't have that sort of relationship with Kamijou-chan!" she looked towards the boy for assistance however the class had already leaped forward with their own outrageous assumptions.

"Relationship….."

"She said relationship…."

"Damn it! We were all thinking it but now it's true!?"

The class went louder and louder as Kamijou looked between everyone that had apparently decided that some sort of illicit high school drama worthy of an award was occurring within their own classroom. Tsuchimikado glanced at him with a cat like smile that Kamijou did not like one bit.

"So…..how many were there this week nyah~?" he asked him.

"Huh?"

"Yeah!" said Aogami as he went over to his desk and slammed down on it. "How many Kami-yan? Why is it that you have more encounters than anyone else in the class? What genres do they cover?! You probably don't have an onee-chan type character in there knowing your luck, the one that you want the most! Probably just an army of imoutos!"

"What the hell is wrong with imoutos nyah~?!" yelled Tsuchimikado as he stood up and glared over the blue haired boy. "An imouto can outclass an onee-san any day! Imouto power nyah~!"

"What?! Onee-sans for the win! They have more experience points to deal with that sort of thing. Think about it! Would you rather pamper or be pampered?! You can trigger the bath event anytime you like without any responsibility but with an imouto, you're limited to only taking true control and having actions that go under the 15+ rating! But with onee-sans, things can get even more steamer and embrace the thinking and dreams that anyone has! After all, would you go towards Fukiyose or Kumokawa-senpai on advice on breast enlargement?" asked Aogami.

"Why are you involving me this you idiots?!" shouted Fukiyose Seiri as she stood up in order to deal with the source of the insanity of the classroom. Himegami Aisa on the other hand (who had fair sized breasts) merely looked at them with a somewhat disappointed look on her face as she turned her own (fair sized) breasts. But who held the secret towards bigger breasts?! God please let me know! That mental shout of Himegami went unanswered and she entered a slump on her desk.

"Well?" asked Aogami as he turned towards Kamijou. "Who would you choose?"

"WHAT?! You were asking me?" blurted out Kamijou at the dire situation that he found himself in. He had to choose one option but which one? The demon Fukiyose approached closer and closer however her face appeared to be expecting an answer. This was not something that he could merely get away with by saying 'Pass'. He had to answer in order to calm her down! But which one? Would he hurt her pride by saying Kumokawa-senpai? Or would he admit that he possessed the heart of a normal high school boy who thought that breasts were good all round?! There was no option like saying having option B over A, like he had once cleverly done. That would have been like admitting that the true opinion that he had was one that only existed within his inner mind.

The cogs in his head furiously went into overdrive (although they would probably be better put to use in his studies) and he chose the option…

C!

"Hah!" said Kamijou as he folded his arms. "What are you saying? It's not on the outside but the inside that counts! Large breasts don't matter at all!"

Himegami rose her head at those reassuring words however the situation turned in a way that no one expected at all.

"K-Kami-yan? Are you saying that…you and Komoe-sensei?! Damn it! You've gotten further than I thought. He really did bridge the gap between genres!" Aogami cried tears at his own foolishness and underestimation of Kamijou.

His mind tried to understand what had happened. Large breasts don't matter? So then who would they turn to apart from the person with the smallest breasts in the class?

"W-Wait Fukiyose! I get the feeling that Option C was a wrong choice! I haven't done anything with Komoe-sensei! I retract my answer! I would talk to Kumokawa-senpai, Kumokawa-senpai! Wait what? Why are you looking even worse now?! OKOKOK. My choice is-"

He never finished as he faced a beast that was in a completely different realm that Index.

Konori Mii had not made her way to the location that she had been told to go to. Instead, strangely she had been asked towards an Anti-Skill member's school in order to get briefed about the finer details that everyone else did not know about in detail.

Personally she thought that it was strange. She did not need to go to the school however it had been a request from the teacher themselves so she felt an obligation to go there. So when she knocked in order to get in, there was no surprise that the only teacher that was there was the one that she had wanted to see in the first place.

"Yomikawa-sensei." She said as she slightly bowed in respect.

"Konori-san." Said Yomikawa Aiho. She smiled and offered a seat for her to sit in, something that Konori accepted. Yomikawa was already clad in her Anti-Skill armour and Konori felt that she was just as prepared as she was when it came towards tackling the problem that they were faced with.

"I want your opinion on something." Said Yomikawa. Konori gave a nod in response however still put in some words.

"Would it not be wiser to ask someone else in Anti-Skill rather than a Judgment member such as myself? After all, I'm not really sure what I can contribute towards whatever you want to ask." She said to which Yomikawa responded by sitting down on one of her own chairs and nodding.

"I know. But in the end, one person that I felt I should ask would be you. Besides, your branch is one that is going towards the sub way entrance anyway so it would be better if I take you. Not to mention, if anyone has the ability to greatest assess this threat at face value, it's you and your branch." Konori nodded in response. She understood what she meant. After all, while it may be unprofessional, she was still human. And her kouhai had been injured because of them. It might be based upon petty revenge but when it came to the problem in front of them, that kind of thinking was perhaps a weapon rather than a hindrance to logical thinking.

Yomikawa leaned forward upon seeing that and asked her question. "What is your opinion of MINUS?"

Konori blinked a few times to which she answered. "Well, as a member of Judgment the only thing that I can say about them is that th-" She was stopped by Yomikawa who gave a look at her.

"Not as a member of Judgment. But as someone who has had one of her friends wounded by such."

Konori pondered the thought for the moment and leaned back in the chair that she was in. "Off the record?" she asked to which Yomikawa snorted to which Konori gave a similar smile in response. "Personally my opinion still doesn't change. I still want to see a place where they would not be able to hurt anyone. But I can't do that alone. So that's why I want to participate to my fullest. I'm willing to get any help that I can in order to make sure that Shirai-san sees the justice that she deserves. It might be arrogant however dealing with this problem using anything that we can is the only way that we can bring a somewhat swift end to this."

Yomikawa was silent for only a moment. "Any help? Even someone that has no relation to Judgment or anything like that?"

Konori frowned. "It's only an opinion. It's reckless but there is no basis in it. You don't have to take me seriously. If anything I would prefer to not get anyone involved just because of my opinion. I think Shirai-san would think the same to." She said however she considered the tone that Yomikawa had said it with and responded kindly. "But….what are you suggesting? You aren't going to get one of the Level 5s involved?"

Her mind wandered to the Level 5 that she was acquainted with. Certainly, if it was Misaka Mikoto involved, the incident would definitely reach a speedy end however the fact of the matter was that right now, there was nothing that could be done to approach her. She had no prior knowledge of the incident right now; something that Shirai Kuroko had made sure of, so getting her to join suddenly could affect her attendance.

Yomikawa laughed. "No…..I could do that however that freeloader of mine would probably ignore me right off the bat and then do something unbelievably reckless in the end. Also I don't think that he could help due to the fact that we will be in a subway tunnel most of the time which would interfere with the signal…..No I'm talking about someone that has raised my interest recently. He doesn't have very good grades so education is useless for him. But I has noticed….his tendency of doing one thing very well. And that kind of skill is something that might be needed for something like this."

Konori raised an eyebrow. "Who is it?" she asked. She could not feel anything but curiosity towards the person that Yomikawa was talking about.

"Let me show you."

The scene in front of her was not what some would call normal. Konori Mii somewhat felt very afraid of the classroom that she was in front of. When she had heard the shouting, she had assumed a delinquent student had caused an uproar however the other classrooms who had heard the sound merely gave a sigh and tried to continue learning. Even the teachers had completely ignored the sound as they taught what they were supposed to.

Konori looked at Yomikawa who was trying to put on a straight face however it was practically useless at the scene in front of her.

The teacher (although Konori seriously doubted it due to her size) was trying to calm the situation however her short stature and high voice was covered by the people that were causing the commotion in the middle of the room.

There were four of them, three of which she could see. 2 boys and a girl that made even Konori inferior about her chest size. But the boys were not the problem. It was the girl.

One of the boys, a blue haired one was on the ground (she felt that she had met him somehow….), rolling around in pain as he clutched his stomach. Another one, a blond haired who seemed unconscious, had a desk with a dent in it near his head. As for the girl, she was over at the window, stepping on the blue haired boy's stomach with one foot however shouting something else outside.

The window was open and the girl had her arm draped outside however Konori could not see what she was holding. Still, even though Yomikawa was not doing anything, she, as a member of Judgment felt obligated to act. She stepped forward and held forward the Judgment armband that was on her arm as she entered the classroom however she was not even noticed.

"Why do I have to deal with your stupidity?" yelled the girl outside. Surprisingly, a voice came back which made Konori think what unfortunate soul had gotten caught up in this predicament. "And what do you mean you would choose Kumokawa-senpai?! What does she have over me?"

"Damn it! Even Fukiyose is jealous!?" yelled the blue haired boy and some of the other boys rose from their seats and gripped their ears as they had heard something unbelievable.

"Noooooooooooo!"

"Why did she have to break now?"

"Damn it! Does anyone know an esper that can control time?! We will remedy this situation!"

"What?! Are you mocking time travelling girls?" said the blue haired boy as he seemed to regain some of his energy. "Let me tell you somet-" He was silenced by the girl and the girl asked the question that she had before to whatever was outside.

"Let me up! What kind of biceps do you have?! I don't think bread does that to you! I can feel the blood rushing to my head Fukiyose! Let me up! Let me up!" A cry from outside entered Konori's ears and it seemed very familiar to her however it was Yomikawa that stepped inside the room and addressed the others that were there.

"What is going on Tsukuyomi-sensei?" asked Yomikawa towards the small teacher(?). She turned towards her with practical tears in her eyes.

"Yomikawa-sensei! With a visitor! Uhhhhhhhhh! You couldn't have picked a worse time! Alright! Sensei is asking you to stop! Yomikawa-sensei is here with a visitor!"

It seemed that those words were heard by everyone and they all turned towards the girl, Konori feeling eyes that she was unfamiliar to her piercing her through. It was almost as if the class was analysing her from the inside out. However…..

"Seems big."

"Loses to Fukiyose though."

"Why do you boys always look at the same place? I think that the misfortune magnet outside had something on the right track when he said the inside matters too!"

One of the other girls in the classroom answered but that created even more ruckus.

"It's spreading! It's spreading! Cleanse the impure! Cleansssssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

"W-Wait! What are you doing!? Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!" The girl screamed and yelled out one name that made all the boys that were moving towards her stop.

"Fukiyose-sama! Protect meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

The girl from the window turned towards the group and it looked like she had grown demon horns and spat fire out of her mouth. The boys, who did not have any MP or HP for that matter, could only retreat until they had levelled up. But even then, they would probably not have tackled that demon.

Yet they turned back towards what the girl was doing immediately. Konori somewhat twitched at that action however let it go as the girl had attracted her attention towards her.

"Judgment!" she said. "Good! Maybe you can deal with the screw loose in this idiot's head!" With a grunt she managed to lift the person from the window without a hitch and threw him onto the floor where he slammed his head onto the end of a chair that was on the ground. He let out a squeal and writhed on the ground before he caught sight of the Judgment officer.

Good looks. Glasses. Wearing a uniform that was fairly respectable that showed off her figure quite well. Judgment armband. Short hair. Kamijou Touma made that assessment and immediately knew who it was.

School uniform. In a situation that screamed the unfairness of the world. Black spiky hair that seemed rather fun to mess with. Strong features on his face. Konori Mii knew who it was when she saw him and when he looked at her.

She remembered exactly how they had parted. And blushed.

There was a silence before the class pounced.

"Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! So even love at first sight exists for this bastard! Why is it that everything ends this way with you?" said one of the classmates.

"Kami-yan! How did you nail this one?! What the hell is this development? That is really close to onee-san type! Where is the tragic backstory!? The move towards getting those affection points?! Was I wrong about moe?! Is it truly about the first encounter?!" shouted the blue haired boy.

"Nyah~ Go imoutos." Said the blond haired boy that had slowly regained consciousness.

"I swear that's all that you think about!" yelled the blue haired boy as he leaped towards him however was caught by the nape of the neck by Yomikawa. She turned while holding Aogami and asked Komoe-sensei a question.

"That one." She said as she pointed. "Can I borrow him?"

The class looked at the person that she was pointing at. And that person….

"Do I get a say in this?" asked Kamijou Touma as he was ignored.

"But! Yomikawa-sensei! Kamijou-chan seriously is lacking in his grades! Remember what he got for that test?! Trying to bounce back from something like that is pretty hard!" protested Komoe-sensei.

Yomikawa merely winked at her. "Don't worry. This will be extra credit. Think of it as contribution to the community."

Komoe-sensei seemed to be distraught at trying to let go one of her students however gave a slow nod. Yomikawa smiled in response and walked over to the fallen boy.

"H-Hang on! What do I get out of this?! I don't want extra credit! I just want my attendance!"

"Huh?" Yomikawa frowned at the stupid request before rubbing a hand through her hair. "Well, I don't think that that's the only thing you want. You were arrested yesterday right? How about we reimburse you for that?"

There was silence before Kamijou's eyes sparkled from an unknown light.

"Really?! You'll pay of that damage!? That food?! That hospital bill too!?"

"Those first two. Not the third one. That's your problem."

"Wait, what the hell is this? You're supposed to agree with my haggling! Don't tell me I was doing it wrong! Hang on, let me get in some of my attendance in there as well and we'll call it a deal!"

"I'm bringing you anyway whether you like it or not." She grabbed the nape of his neck and began to drag him towards the door of the classroom and he screamed at what he was made to face.

"Noooooooooooooo! I actually got two days in a row! Come on! At least pay for the food and damage! Pleeeeeeeeeeeease! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Such misfortuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuune!" That cry echoed in the hall of A Certain High School and everyone there did not have a care when they heard it.

Yomikawa's patrol car had gotten there in record speed and Kamijou had merely been thrown in the back without so much as an explanation. When he demanded one, even from Konori, she had not given it as she did not know the situation either.

In less than 10 minutes she had a stop, to which both Kamijou and Konori got a look at where they were.

It was a train station. Or rather an entrance. Three of them lay in front of them with a half-finished track coming out from each of them, finishing a few metres in front of each entrance. The entrances themselves were rather large, probably one able to fit at least 3 Anti-Skill vans in without any trouble and even higher than that. From the view itself, it didn't even look as though they were train tunnels but rather hangers for large planes. But speaking of Anti-Skill vans…..

The area was littered with them. They lay in all areas and there was the occasional Judgment member walking around in order to help out where they could however it was clear who had the scene in their hands. Kamijou actually paused to look at the pure co-ordination that was being given off by each party to which it was Yomikawa that had snapped him out of it by dragging him by the collar.

"Oi!" he shouted as he shooed her hand away, following her and Konori. "Where are we going? What are we even doing here?"

Konori frowned as she looked at Yomikawa. "Yeah, sensei. What is going on? Why are you bringing an amateur to a place like this? You aren't seriously asking him to get involved?"

Yomikawa was about to say something however a voice to the side caught everyone's attention.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" said a voice.

"I could ask you the same thing. How are you still a Judgment member after what you tried to do to me?" another voice entered their ears and Konori gave a sigh. Both Kamijou and Yomikawa have her a strange look and she addressed them with a response of her own.

"Sorry. I have to deal with this. I can't have in fighting between Judgment branches." She said as she walked off to which Kamijou was left with Yomikawa however she frowned at the voices. She used her chin to point towards Konori.

"You follow her. You aren't needed right now anyway and besides, dealing with the adults is an adult's job. You best get more acquainted with the Judgment members."

Kamijou, still wondering what was going on, did as he was asked, following Konori until the two of them reached a space that had been cleared where two espers were currently having a verbal battle.

One Kamijou knew well. His tan coloured hair was out of place as well as his clothes; a red hoodie with a yellow shirt and jeans. It seemed that he was extremely pissed towards the person that he was having a discussion with, another esper that Kamijou knew: Shirai Kuroko.

"Don't spout shit about whatever you're talking about! Are you trying to sully the name of the 74th Judgment branch?!" said the boy.

Konori put a hand to her forehead. "For the love of- Shirai, what do you think that you're doing?" she asked.

Shirai turned her head towards Konori and gave a smirk towards the boy as she saw that Kamijou was there as well. "What is it Konori-senpai?" she asked with that smile on her face.

The boy turned his head towards her and went pale as he saw Kamijou and took one step back. Konori silently watched his reaction towards the boy and then towards Kamijou who looked as though he was seeing a fight between small children over a toy. He looked tired and fed up with having being dragged around and to be honest, Konori did not blame him at all for that reaction. Still Konori had started to say something and did not stop.

"Do you really think that Anti-Skill will be pleased with each of our Judgment branches if it turned out that we were having some kind of rivalry that clouded our judgment and ability to co-operate? Although Uiharu didn't come here with us, do you really think that that gives you the chance to do this with another Judgment member?" She frowned towards her before turning towards the boy and forced a smile.

She knew exactly what role he had played in the attack upon Shirai upon MINUS. Although it was proved that he had no connection towards such, the explanation that Shirai had given her made only bitter feelings still rise up in her chest as she looked towards that Judgment member.

"Endo Hanshiro. I do apologise for my kouhai's actions. However you were the one that provoked her were you not?" She added edge towards her words at the end in order to suggest that she was not going to put up with anything from his side of things.

Endo twitched and he gave a slight hesitant bow before looking towards Shirai with a hateful glare and then back at Kamijou. He noticed that Endo was looking at him and acknowledged his presence with a wave of the hand to which Endo somewhat flinched and retreated among the Anti-Skill vans, his pace rather fast. It was clear that Kamijou had no hard feelings whatsoever to the boy however it did not seem like the feeling was mutual.

As soon as she thought he was out of earshot, Shirai was the one that spoke towards Konori. "Damn, he certainly has become a pain in the ass after what happened." She groaned. She glared at Kamijou as she looked at him from up close.

"And what are you doing here?" she asked him. She looked him up and down as if sizing him up before turning towards Konori and giving her own opinion on the matter with her. "D-Don't tell me you actually arrested him? Or is he here…..in another aspect?" she asked. She felt conflicted in the idea. While she knew his ability to act in dangerous situations, she still felt that the boy should leave things up to those who wanted and were able to do the work as well.

Konori shook her head as she looked towards Kamijou. "Well….it was Yomikawa-sensei that brought him. I have no idea why though. What exactly can you do?" she asked him.

Kamijou gave a sigh as he hung his head. "I don't know. All I want to do is have a high school experience that doesn't involve magicians or espers chasing me around."

Konori and Shirai looked at each other and mouthed the word magicians however it seemed that Kamijou was not going to describe what he had meant. But still Konori looked at him with a frown. "I did some research on you though." She said. "A Level 0 with…." A smile touched the edge of her lips. "The lowest mark in the test with a one. To be honest I am rather sorry to hear that."

"Damn it! Is that going to follow me everywhere?! Why can I not let that behind me?!" he complained.

"Well what did you expect?" asked Konori. "You got a 5 last year. To fail so badly…."

"What? I got a five?" said Kamijou. He did not remember anything of the sort and it was explainable that it was the case. However Kamijou Touma did not know. He did not understand.

How exactly was the previous Kamijou Touma such a genius?! What the hell is this?

It was lucky that he did not speak out those words. If anyone thought that he thought that getting a five was a mark of genius, he may have been expelled from then education system for pure blasphemy.

"Hmm." Said Konori as Shirai listened in with somewhat great intensity. Although she owed the boy a great deal, although she probably didn't want to ever state that point out loud, hearing amusing stories of his daily life always served as a way to get her to smile. "And you have in fact been questioned by Judgment over a number of offenses. Actually I wanted to talk to you about one of them. A few years ago in March there were reports of a spiky haired boy walking around in some Magical Powered Kanamin cosplay which attracted some stares from some older Level 0s. A few of them were found beaten up later. Would you know anything about that?"

Shirai's lips twitched in amusement and Kamijou went pale. What the hell was he supposed to say? Magical Powered Kanamin cosplay? That kind of misfortune sounded like him however did the previous Kamijou Touma have to put with such a thing?!

"Why are you interrogating me? What have I done to you? Has this Kamijou-san committed some major crime that is punishable by death? If so please respond within 2 seconds or forever hold your peace!" Kamijou's outburst somewhat stunned the two Judgment members however before they could say anything a loud speaker voice echoed through the air.

"All Anti-Skill and judgment members please report to the second entrance of the train yard for briefing. I repeat-"

Kamijou and the others looked up at the voice and Shirai silently walked forward, speaking as she did so.

"Finally. It's time for some justice."

Even inside the subway tunnel that voice was heard from the entrance. Everyone looked up and Chojiro Wada clenched his teeth as he listened to it.

"Shit. Anti-Skill and Judgment. We don't have time for this piece of bad luck." He turned towards the others that were there, the dim lighting proving it hard to see. Many of them seemed to be eager to go out and fight however the number of crates that they had to load on and the amount of trains that there were meant that not all of them could go out and fight.

However the eagerness to do so filled the air like static electricity. Chojiro was glad about that. In the end that only meant that people would be upset to not fight in the first place and not the other way around.

"Alright then. Who wants to volunteer?" he asked.

And of course all hands went up. Chojiro groaned.

In the words of another that held his position….this really was too much work for a Lieutenant General.

Kamijou still had no idea why he was here. Yomikawa was standing next to him and he was standing between her and Konori, Shirai standing next to her. There were a few other Judgment members that were there as well, Kamijou noticing Endo however was more terrified by the person that was next to him.

He was about as tall as Stiyl. As twice as muscular. He wore some orange sunnies that were pushed down his nose that his blue eyes could still be seen. He wore a uniform that only seemed to make him all the more fearsome and his short, black style hair seemed like a military style haircut.

Endo noticed that Kamijou was looking at him and gave a smug grin however Kamijou did not even notice him. When he did, he gave an awkward wave to the smile that he was given to which Endo tried to avert his gaze. Kamijou tilted his head. Although there was everything that had happened, there was no point in holding a grudge over it. Right?

A person went onto a podium in order to address everyone and Kamijou looked at her. He did not know her however everyone around him seemed to tighten their posture in front of them. She looked very senior like however was around Kamijou's age. Her long brown hair went down her Private Shidarezakura Academy uniform and she had fair sized breasts. Kamijou almost wanted to run away, afraid that she would recognise him from last time he was there…

Even Anti-Skill members seemed to tense up in front of the girl and Kamijou had no idea what to do as a normal high school student. When he looked around he did not even have a Judgment armband on him, only making him feel more out of place.

Why is it that I feel like I'm back at Buckingham Palace? I just need Index to feel more out of place!

She looked at everyone with her brown eyes and then cleared her throat.

"Thank you everyone for coming here today to participate in this assault. MINUS has been a threat towards the general populace of Academy City for too long and we are here in order to make sure that we can deal with it. While they originally started out as a small group, their actions have escalated since they attacked Yomikawa Aiho's residence. Since then they have been responsible for an attack in the Underground Shopping Mall, the Battle of School Garden which only Tokiwadai students have knowledge about in detail, the collapse of the Misawa Cram School and an attack in District 3. And that is what we know about in detail. Things and events could go much deeper however we cannot be sure. And so today, Anti-Skill and Judgment will be taking on the role of pursuing this threat to the largest extreme."

The girl's voice came through the loudspeaker nice and clear and Kamijou froze as he heard what she was talking about. An….attack on MINUS? Is that why everyone was here? Was this some kind of organised assault on them?

Kamijou wanted to say something however chose to not do so as an outsider in the situation. Yet even in that situation, he could not help but think that the speech that was happening in front of him was something that was more addressed to the others instead of him. But in the end, why was he even here? He looked towards Yomikawa out of the corner of his eye and saw that she was looking at him with a grin on her face that he did not understand. He looked towards Konori who was focused on the girl and asked a question so he felt involved to some extent.

"Who's that?" he asked.

Konori silently covered her mouth to muffle her voice as well as in order to not speak over the girl who was going into the Judgment members and branches that were here.

"Iwahashi Rina. She started out as Judgment at an early age and managed to take down a number of espers that had entered one of the underground floors of District 22 a few years ago. She evacuated everyone and managed to subdue everyone there while still being a Level 3. She was accepted into Private Shidarezakura Academy because of it and then became a Level 4 a few months later. Most people in Judgment at least want to be seen next to her because of the heroics that she has done. While she does seem to be in a high position, she places a large amount of focus on the fact that she was just doing her job so she feels that every Judgment member should try and achieve the same thinking that she should. Personally, I admire her for that however taking things at one's own pace is an idea that I place upon others."

"Ah." Said Kamijou. He looked at her however although the impression that Konori had given was that of someone who was a hero; Kamijou did not get that impression. Instead she gave off the aura of someone who had merely acted in the way that she wanted to. However the fact that she spoke up there with so much confidence seemed to suggest to Kamijou that she knew that her actions would be perceived as heroic. Yet here she stood, one of the role models of Judgment.

Kamijou wondered how much hard work had gone into that protecting however that did not only apply to that role model. It also applied towards Konori Mii and Shirai Kuroko. Those two had also placed themselves in the firing line in order to achieve the overall peace of Academy City and they were doing so even now.

Judgment. They were espers and while he had thought of them as nuisance, particularly with the fact that he was in this situation, they were doing their hardest as well. They were doing their hardest in order to make sure that the City was safe. They were heroes in their own right and the armband that they wore was something that they did not wear to brag. They did it because of the fact that they were proud to be a part of the force that protected the City.

While there were some that he couldn't agree with, nothing would change the fact that those espers were even doing their best now to protect that City. And what was he? Did he have a place like that? He didn't think so personally.

He had versed the world in order to protect one girl however these espers placed themselves in the firing line constantly, actions such as these oblivious to others around them. He had once helped prevent Shirai Kuroko from being removed from Judgment. Wasn't that because that was a part of her peace? Wasn't she spreading that peace to others as well?

With people like that…..With people like Shirai Kuroko and Konori Mii…..

"W-What?" asked Konori as she noticed that Kamijou was staring at her with a smile on his face.

"Nothing." He said. "I'm sure everything will be fine with people like you." Konori had no idea what he was talking about however Shirai was the one that spoke first.

"Hehehe. So you really are a cheater. I feel that Onee-sama will hardly be pleased."

"What are you even talking about?" hissed Kamijou to which Shirai was somewhat shocked at his density. However that only fuelled the flames of her jealously even more.

What?! He has managed to capture Onee-sama and not even know it?! I must act! If I can steer the situation in a certain direction victory will be mine! Yes….as long as he follows my every command, then…

She blinked before considering what she had said. That ape…..following her every command? His everyday life was something of a chain of unfortunate events however….even among that, there was an aspect of a normal boy in that right? And….if that normal boy were to have a normal day with her…..

Her original thought seemed to disappear as a faint shade of red came onto her face before she slapped herself in the face before the thought escalated too far.

"Um….Sh-Shirai-san?" asked Konori in a worried tone as Shirai tried to erase the thought she was about to have from her head.

"And from the 74th Judgment branch, chief Hagino Yoritomo along with Endo Hanshiro." Said Iwahashi from the stage. The muscle man gave a grunt in response to which Endo gave a look to where Kamijou and the others were, standing with his chest puffed out that made Kamijou think that he was somewhat of a stuck up that only did things for himself.

Still Kamijou felt that this was something that he had to ask before he caught up in something that he did not understand.

"Yomikawa-sensei. Why am I even here? I don't think that I'll be much here in terms of help." He said despite having gone to a number of battlefields that had literally held the fate of the planet in the balance.

"You'd be surprised. Besides this is the reason that I brought you along." She said as she looked towards him. "You and that ability of you might be the thing that we need in order to pull out a win from this. Unless you don't want to act? This is going to be one time where we can deal a blow towards MINUS. I have yet to convince others however what do you want to do?"

Kamijou looked towards his right hand. Imagine Breaker. Again, this was treated as a trump card that could be used in order to gain the advantage. Sure, MINUS was made up of Level 0s however there were a number of espers there as well that Kamijou could use his ability against. But this time the faith was not being put into his ability but rather than of his own actions.

MINUS was his fault. He had taken action against Accelerator and some people had interpreted the action in such a way that it had developed into MINUS. This was something that he had to deal with. He had been too reactive in a number of situations that he had dealt with. Was it because he had grown too comfortable with his peaceful life? Or was it because he was afraid to tackle the problem that was clearly his fault?

He had the chance to move towards a proactive approach. He had once again step on that battlefield as the hero that had taken down the #1, the same Level 0 that MINUS held at the centre of their ideals to rise over oppression.

Could he truly face those that he had tried to protect without moving forward right now?

And so, Kamijou Touma merely continued to listen to what Iwahashi had to say, Konori also looking at him as she had heard Yomikawa's answer.

A light had entered his eyes. It was burning and Konori knew what it was, it was the pure will in order to do what was right in the situation. Kamijou had been asked to participate and although he had complained at first he was willing to be drawn into this conflict.

However, even if he had not been asked that was not going to be the case. Even if he had no idea if his right hand would affect things or not, Kamijou Touma would still have gone towards that battlefield. Things did not change even though the battlefield had. Kamijou Touma would always remain the same.

"And finally the 177th branch with chief Konori Mii and Shirai Kuroko." Iwahashi ended with those words and then drew in a breath before exhaling.

"Let's bring this to a quick end everyone. We won't let MINUS win anymore."

There was a shout of agreement from the others around them and Konori knew. This was where it was going to start.

And this is where everything would be laid on the table for things to bear.

Yomikawa Aiho groaned. The Judgment members had moved towards areas that they could manage to make sure they could co-ordinate with the Anti-Skill members but even then, there was one thing that was left unsolved.

She had said so herself; she had yet to convince others. She herself was convinced of something, a small difference that the boy known as Kamijou Touma could make. She had seen it herself and seen how that same faith had spread to others around her. Would it not be asking much for the boy to shoulder such an impressive burden? She felt so…but even then, the boy himself had truly accepted that burden without a second thought.

She could see it in his eyes.

Was this the boy that had inspired Accelerator? Hamazura Shiage? Was this the boy that had once saved a classmate? Or faced a mysterious stone creature in the Underground Mall? She had seen it herself however even then, there was one point that she could not deny.

Kamijou Touma was nothing more than a normal high school boy.

Everything about him supported that fact. However even then…..she felt that there was something out of place. And that was why she had faith. She had faith that even though he might not do anything, the one person that had inspired so many was here. Would he inspire her? Others? She couldn't say but even then, she had to see her role to the end.

"No." The response that came to her was short and cold. Yomikawa frowned once before looking at the man in front of her.

He was her superior, in this mission at least and from what she had heard from others, his views were ones that looked directly at every point of the battlefield and then assessed them so perfectly that it most almost like he had an understanding of both sides and their abilities.

"I won't have civilians on this battlefield. Are you serious? He's a boy. A high school boy no less. Sorry kid, but playing the hero of justice isn't something that you are cut out for."

His white moustache moved as he spoke and Kamijou Touma next to Yomikawa was merely silent as he looked at the man. There was no response from him and she could tell that she was attracting some stares from passing Judgment members as well as ones from Anti-Skill.

"And you," Her superior looked at her before frowning. "I know of you Yomikawa Aiho. You might be a Lieutenant of your own branch of Anti-Skill but this is a serious lapse of judgment. And before you even ask, the answer will be no. Even….." The man glared towards the Judgment member that she had brought in order to back up her point, someone that would know perfectly his ability.

Shirai Kuroko tensed up slightly however felt that this geezer was someone that she would not like on her bad side. Even though she agreed with him perfectly, she still had that opinion. Kamijou had saved her. But at what cost? She had seen that cost herself and was sure of something; Kamijou Touma would go to those same lengths again.

It didn't relate to the fact that she didn't want to see him hurt in any way or the fact that, although she wouldn't say it, she owed the boy more than anything and hadn't thought of a way to repay him. She hadn't put much thought to it, thinking that maybe their old relationship and the maintenance of it was enough. But even then, what had that been? Was physical abuse the norm for treating that boy who had been through so much?

If she had to ask others she might get answers like "Touma needs to be punished whenever he acts like Touma" or "Wh-what's wrong with treating an idiot like an idiot". Other people had their own ways of maintaining that relationship but even then, Shirai Kuroko was sure that if she had the chance to stop this boy from going to the battlefield, to protect him, she should stop him.

"….if you have the support of a Judgment member." The man finished and glared towards the boy. Kamijou Touma turned towards Yomikawa and Shirai however their faces only revealed that they were either trying to think of a way to get him involved or not.

"Besides, what did you think that you could do? This isn't something that anyone can just do. If anything, first address that arrogance of yours before coming to me about joining this battlefield."

"…" Kamijou was silent if only for an instant however within himself, he found the words that he used in that moment.

"Sorry, but I can't do that."

Everyone looked at him with a surprised expression before the man stepped up towards Kamijou and thrust a finger into his chest.

"Now you listen here kid. I have no time to put up with your crap right now. Can't you see the serious situation that we have here?! If you won't move, I'm just going to have to arrest you."

"Ahehehehe, actually you can't do that." Said Kamijou Touma as he laughed and scratched the back of his head. "I've been blacklisted from prison." He made that completely ridiculous (however unfortunately true) comment towards the man and his face seemed to go all shades of red from the fact that he couldn't believe that lie that he thought that the boy was speaking.

But even then, the boy opened his mouth once more.

"But…..even so, I would still stay and fight. It doesn't matter that you have enough people or that I wouldn't make a difference. To be honest, if anything, I'm not a hero of justice. I'm just a normal high school student. I can't use any spectacular power and I'd lose to a normal esper any day. However even so, that doesn't mean that I'm going to sit out and let Judgment take all the work. I can't anymore. This situation that I've created with my own hands won't allow it. I can't simply go back to those I've left behind and think I can smile towards them when I could have acted. I've seen what that's worth and I won't abandon that."

It had been an illusion. It was a painful illusion that he had once thought of committing suicide over. But even then, that perfect hell of nothing but smiles was something that should be treasured. Kamijou Touma knew that value completely. But this was the world that he had regained through death. And with no redoes, could he truly accept that he had to move on, leaving those who could be hurt on the chance that someone's smile was ripped from them?

Hadn't he gone to extraordinary lengths in order to make sure that someone's smile remained on their face?

Kamijou Touma was not a hero of justice. He was nothing more than a high school boy. But even then, those limitations were not something that he would let him stop his own actions.

"Aren't you aiming for the same thing? I don't want to have to keep on trying to get involved, only to constantly be rejected. We're both trying to make sure that the people outside here are going to regain what they haven't even considered losing. Isn't that a wonderful thing? Isn't that something that you should be praised for? Yet Judgment and Anti-Skill move alone on that path. I can't say I know what that feels like. But even then, it's something that everyone wants to work towards. And if we have the same goal, why can't we simply get along?"

Even though it may have been something that an elementary schooler could spit out, that high school boy could say those words and truly mean that. Weren't they trying to protect the same persons? In their eyes, weren't they aiming for that same result in the end? Kamijou Touma did not want to fight his allies once again. He wanted to move with them in order to achieve that final goal.

It didn't matter if they hated him for it.

It didn't matter if everyone else took the credit, leaving him in the shadows. That was where he had come from and in the end that was where he would return. He was nameless, a civilian that had intervened.

But even so, restricting himself because of that was not something that he believed that he or the previous Kamijou Touma would ever face and be satisfied with.

"I don't think I'll be able to do much. If anything, I'll do my best to not get in your way. But please. I want to help. I want to help you as you deal with MINUS."

Yomikawa, Shirai and the man all looked at Kamijou as he finished speaking. The words that he spoke were perhaps something that one would rarely hear however knew in their heart. Kamijou Touma was not a god or a superhuman. He was simply a puny human who would die if his nose and mouth were clogged. He would lose based on basic specs. He would be crushed and killed constantly by god.

But even then, he knew that himself. And he admitted what he lacked. But what did he use to make up for that which he lacked? What did he use to constantly move forward and achieve the results that he did with his actions?

His eyes only showed that much about him. He had faced hell after hell and had come to that conclusion. He would not save people as a hero of justice.

His actions weren't based upon that. They weren't based on striking down the evil and saving the good. They weren't based upon what others expected of him.

They were based on the fact that he was Kamijou Touma. They were based on the fact that he would be a shield for all misfortune, stand up for anyone and take on any opponent regardless of who they were. And even in the end, that smile from those people was all that he needed to know he had saved someone. Perhaps that was something that only he could grasp.

But even then, he and others knew…they knew…

That he would never let go of that.

"Damn it." The man groaned and ran a hand through his hair. "I told you, I don't have time for this crap." He was silent as he looked at Kamijou before frowning, turning towards Yomikawa and jabbing a finger at her face.

"He is YOUR responsibility. If he dies, you are the one to face the consequences."

"Y-Yes sir!" Yomikawa said that with a smile on her face and her superior turned around and began discussing what he had to with the other members of Anti-Skill around him.

Yomikawa grinned as she gave a laugh and slapped Kamijou on the back a few times.

"Yahahaha! That was a good one! Tsukuyomi-sensei really does have some good students after all!"

"Owowowow! Stop that! It really hurts! Shouldn't you have discussed this with your superiors before dragging me into this anyway!? I still expect compensation you know!" Kamijou complained towards her however he merely turned her back and headed towards another Anti-Skill van nearby.

"Hey! Are you listening!? If anything, I want those damages repaid! Please! I don't want to have to pay for all that food Index bought! Listeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!" Kamijou shouted however Yomikawa ignored him, leaving him to fall on his knees and almost break out in tears.

Shirai Kuroko looked at the crying boy, her mouth open as she wondered what to say. There had been something that the boy had said, something that he truly believed that she herself could not accept. However even so….

It was true.

"Isn't that something that you should be praised for? Yet Judgment and Anti-Skill move alone on that path. I can't say I know what that feels like."

Doing things without thanks…..because he truly felt that it was nothing to be thankful for….that was how he had managed to get this far however even then…he had never been thanked.

Shirai Kuroko had almost died but he had once taken all of that. She had almost been crushed by Musujime Awaki but he had saved her.

And he had never been thanked. He did not think of himself as a hero. He was nothing more than a high school student.

But did she think of him like that? Somewhere, in her mind, wasn't there something else that she thought of him? She thought of him as-

"Huh? You OK?" Kamijou asked her however she regained her focus and looked towards the boy.

"…I'm fine." Was her response. "But even then….I can't really accept what you said. Even if it's just me….I want to hold onto that impression of you that you might not realise about yourself. Try not to get into trouble."

Shirai turned and walked away from Kamijou, leaving him only confused at what she had said.

Impression of him? What had she meant?

Kamijou crossed his legs and tilted his head as he tried to ponder what she was thinking of? D-Did she truly think of how as an ape still!? W-What had he even done to deserve such treatment? N-No….this was thin ice. He had to treat carefully as a false move would truly mean he was dead.

Kamijou Touma slowly looked towards Shirai Kuroko's back and trembled.

This new obstacle in front of him was something that rivalled even MINUS.

And without his knowledge, the words that Shirai had said without her wanting to could only leave her to dismiss herself before he noticed the hint of red that was slowly crawling up her cheeks.

The teams that would be going into the three entrances would be different. According to the schematics of the tunnels that lay ahead of them each tunnel went in different directions and ended up in a different District. The one on the left went towards District 17, the one in the middle went towards District 16 while the one on the right went towards District 19.

Most forces were heading towards the one on the right due to the fact that there was a high likelihood that that was where MINUS was actually located. Kamijou wanted to make sure that he had such a force as well however Yomikawa had insisted that he not go down that path. As she was taking it, she had suggested that Kamijou take one of the other paths.

So now he sat in front of them both trying to think about what path would be the best to take. District 16? Or District 17? Personally if people were going down all three then it did not matter however in the end they had lost their firepower as they could not take the vans that Anti-Skill had due to the rails restricting them.

Kamijou was seriously wondering what to do however a voice came into his ears and he looked towards his right as Konori approached him.

"Yomikawa-sensei did in fact suggest there might be someone joining in. I had a hunch but….." Konori tried to smile however could not as she pondered one thought and asked the boy a question.

"Please forgive me but Kamijou-san, you are a Level 0. I do not doubt you in anyway however this is no place for someone without Judgment training or any other expertise." She tried to say her words in a way that did not cause the boy any hardship by saying he was useless however the boy merely smiled where he sat on the ground.

"That's fine. I've heard it already. But in the end Konori, what you think doesn't change what I've decided. MINUS is something that has hurt people around me and that's something that I can't stand to see. So in the end, my choice hasn't changed. You don't have to come down the entrance that I choose but in the end, the only difference that it will make is whether you see me fight or not. Sure I'm a Level 0. But that doesn't change what I have to do….what I want to do." He said towards her.

She merely looked at him before sighing and looking around. "Just try not to do anything reckless OK? You are the only civilian here. If anything, when not under the protection of Yomikawa, you're my responsibility." She said.

"Civilian? Now THAT is pretty cool." Said a gruff voice from the side to which both Kamijou and Konori turned, both of them having different reactions towards the person that entered their vision.

The muscle man came towards the both of them with a large smile on his lips and clothes that were straining to contain the large muscles. Kamijou felt that those muscles were more than just intimidation. He looked towards Kamijou with a somewhat interested look before holding out the lump of muscle that could have been called a hand.

"Hagino Yoritomo. Nice to meet you." Kamijou responded by holding out his own hand and shaking the hand that was offered him, something that hung in the air as Kamijou's hand was gripped. Hagino looked surprised as they did so and Kamijou somewhat felt the bones in his hand being crushed.

"U-Um….Hagino…..san? Can I have my hand back please?" he asked while trembling. Hagino blinked a few times before retracting the hand frowning at the boy who was holding his own hand.

"What Level are you?" he asked, an edge towards his voice. Both Kamijou and Konori frowned at the edge that had appeared however before Kamijou could reply, someone else butted in.

"Hagino. Leave the boy alone. It's clear that he doesn't belong here in the first place." A familiar voice came into everyone's ears to which everyone turned towards the left of Kamijou seeing a girl wearing the Private Shidarezakura Academy uniform enter his vision.

She had a smile on her face and Hagino adjusted the sunglasses that were on his face.

"Sorry Iwahashi. It's just that….." Hagino looked towards Kamijou and he felt that any more contact with this guy would end causing more harm than actual good.

"Don't tell me that you tried to use your power against him in case he became a threat to us?" asked Iwahashi Rina as she came closer. Kamijou tensed up and looked towards the boy however Hagino only looked towards Kamijou with a somewhat frowning expression.

"Don't worry about it." She said. "I had the same idea. So….." Iwahashi looked towards Kamijou and smiled. "Please leave."

Kamijou gave a blink and looked towards both of the espers that had surrounded him. He frowned and then looked at Konori. "Did you set this up in order to make me leave?" he asked.

Konori blinked a few times before stuttering and finding the words that she needed to say. "N-No. But how did you do that? The Bank said that you were a Level 0 with no power." [1]

Kamijou frowned. "I am a Leve-"

"You did not hear me." Said Iwahashi from where she stood. "I said PLEASE LEAVE." She practically yelled out the words and Kamijou somewhat felt that he had met someone that was going to add towards his misfortune.

"I…I heard you." Said Kamijou.

"…."

"….."

Iwahashi looked at Kamijou and he returned the look. Although Kamijou was the only one that did not know what was going on, Hagino and Konori were both looking at Kamijou with surprised looks.

Iwahashi however got over the shock quickly before grabbing Kamijou's hands and looking at him straight in the face. He felt his heart race from the current contact with the girl looking around frantically at the situation that he found himself in.

"Please leave." She said once again and Kamijou stood up quickly, gaining a look of hope from the girl, however it was shattered as Kamijou walked further towards the entrance of the train tunnels as everyone else got ready to enter them.

He glanced behind only to see the girl agape and Hagino agape as well. They started saying something and Konori was the only person who maintained a calm exterior however that was shattered soon as she realised something. Kamijou did not know what it was however he still had to focus on the issue at hand.

Which tunnel was he going to enter? Since he was the closest towards them, he got a good look inside.

All of the tunnels were the same in size, brick work surrounding all walls however there was very little light, only enough to illuminate certain spots in the tunnel despite their size but even then there was not much one could see when they entered into the tunnel.

For certain, it was obvious that the tunnel descended down to which Kamijou was worried that any electronic device would be rendered useless if it was down there for long enough.

But still, Kamijou was left to his own thoughts. He hoped that he had not attracted the attention of some troublesome people however that was not the case with his misfortune. He hoped that things would not escalate to a certain point that he might end up in an irreversible situation.

But there was one thing at the back of his mind.

Magical Powered Kanamin cosplay?! What the hell were you thinking previous Kamijou Touma?

He lightly punched himself in the head as a result as he walked closer towards the tunnel. He put his hands in his pockets as he tried to decide which one to go into, feet almost reaching into the entrance itself. The Anti-Skill vans were right behind him in order to provide fast support however the movement behind him made it feel like the calm before the storm.

He had seen that plenty of times. In the fight against the Amakusa. During the coup in Britain. Still, Kamijou had to smile. In a few more minutes, everything would go insane and it was all when they entered this one-

Kamijou waved his right hand towards the entrance and froze-

Something smashed and people behind him stopped moving as soon as he got a look inside the tunnel itself. Eight people were there, five boys and three girls and they looked straight at him as well. One of the boys had his hands forward and was on his knees as if pushing against a wall. The others however were kneeling next to a large pipe. They were a number of boxes that were next to him and they seemed just as surprised.

There was a box next to each pipe and there was something white coming out of each pipe that they held. The girls and boys looked straight at Kamijou and he returned the look.

"Eh?" He looked at his right hand. Something had definitely been negated by Imagine Breaker when he had reached for the mouth of the tunnel however judging by what he could now see, it was probably some kind of light bending esper power.

Light that was bended as to render the space that the people were in as invisible. And those weapons…when Kamijou got a closer look at them he recognised them. In a panic, a boy with a weapon raised it and pointed straight at Kamijou.

"A BAZOOKA?!" yelled Kamijou in fright as he leaped towards the side, just as a tremendous sound filled his ears.

Konori Mii could not believe it. Hagino Yoritomo and Iwahashi Rina were talking to each other about what they had just experienced and Konori was also thrown back in surprise at it as well.

She had thought it was strange in Seventh Mist when she had first met him. Why had her Clairvoyance not registered him? Why had she been unable to see him? As she walked off, she used her power once more, looking around to see if it was working and then using it on Kamijou. However she saw nothing. It was like he was not even there.

He was a Level 0. He had no power. She knew that much about him and yet why was her power not working?

"Did your power work Hagino? Seriously, how is he a Level 0? Are you sure you got your facts right Konori? He must be a Level 4 at least or higher in order to block my Marionette!"

Because that was what she had tried to do. Iwahashi Rina had tried to use suggestion in order to make Kamijou leave using her power however that had not worked at all.

Hagino looked at the boy and adjusted his sunnies. "Yeah. My Injury Recount did not work at all." Hagino's ability identified one's past injuries that one had sustained or any vital place on the body that was vulnerable however that had not been the case with Kamijou. "Are you sure that he was a Level 0 Konori?"

Unlike their subordinates, it was clear that the chiefs of the 74th and 177th Judgment branches knew how to keep things professional.

Konori nodded. She was about to say something else however she stopped as the sound of something smashing entered the air and she turned towards the source of the sound, the entrance of the middle tunnel.

Kamijou Touma stood there however she could not see her face. But were those…people in front of him? They were holding something and one of them moved and everything went to hell with just two words.

"A BAZOOKA?!" yelled the boy as he threw himself to the side, something coming from the entrance of the tunnel, hitting one of the Anti-Skill vans where it exploded in a burst of flames, throwing espers and other members of Anti-Skill and Judgment aside due to the shockwave.

Konori Mii, Hagino Yoritomo and Iwahashi Rina threw themselves to the ground and Konori looked up at gritted her teeth.

Any thoughts that she had about who controlled the situation left her mind.

The battle started here.

[1] Although in Volume 1 Mikoto said that his power does not exist in the Bank, in NT 7 Rensa hacked into it and gained his power from it. However I interpreted it as the comments that were in the Bank and the novel confirms this. So when looking up the 'power' unless you look deeper into the Bank you would not reach the comment right? So kind of what I thought here was that Konori and Mikoto both only touched on the 'surface' of Kamijou's power and thus do not know the effects of Imagine Breaker as they did not read the 'comments'. Besides, the idea that a power can negate others isn't something on believes unless one sees it at face value as well. Hence Konori's remark.

I had to finish with a bang. Rather literally. I hope that everyone enjoyed the chapter. This was very much bringing in Kamijou with an appropriate reason. After all, Yomikawa's interest in Kamijou is not only seen in the canon but also in the Fukiyose and Shirai arcs. Accelerator's as well.

But even then, when we went towards trying to convince someone to let him join the fight, I think I showed a part of him that was rather important in the NT series. If anything, he doesn't view himself as a hero. He can't, possibly because of Imagine Breaker which can only destroy. But even then, there are others around him that can view him as more than just a student. Shirai herself wants to cement that; to her, there will always be a part of him that will be a hero. Of course there are other characters that think that (you can't find someone who doesn't)…..but somehow I felt that Shirai grew because she was the one that voiced it.

That's what I think. But at any rate, here we are at the end of the chapter. But still those NT ideas and how Touma still doesn't change is part of the reason we all love him.

But here I also added some characters that do not play the role of villain straight off the bat. That was a nice change for me in that regard as it gave the story some more depth. After all, everyone has their own stories whether they be villain or hero. But now things get serious! What is going to happen?

And yes, I used a bazooka. I can do that. Hehehehe.

But in the end I hope that everyone liked this chapter, ended on a cliffhanger, and looks forward to then next one. As noted at the end here, the battle starts here.

And as always, Review if you please

And I'll see you when I see you and I won't if I don't.

Just remember whose arc this is…..
