Rage burned through my viens as I stood over a barely conscious Sam .

I didn't even try to push the feeling away. I welcomed it with open arms.

Seeing him this way gave me a sick feeling of satisfaction.

I could not believe that it has come to this.

I felt like I couldn't trust anyone outside of Jax and the club.

I know for damn sure that isn't normal nor is that healthy.

I don't care.

It was all I need.

This animal was getting what he truly deserves.

I strolled over to the silver shelf that rested above the sink, and opened my purse, pulling out my gun.

I made my way back in front of him, aiming my gun at his forehead.

With his hand, Sam pushed himself up as much as he can, letting out a hearty laugh that hurt his sore ribcage.

"What's so funny?," I asked as I my hand gripped the weapon even tighter.

"You. You aint gonna kill me, Alaina. You don't have the balls to kill me."

My thumb moved the safety lever downwards. The small click made itself known, causing Sam's Ignorant grin to fade away.

"You don't know me, Sam. You never will, either."

The bathroom door was pried open, making me turn around.

"James, what are you.."

"I turned on the gps from your cell at the station. I had a feeling I'd find you and Sam in the same room," he stared at Sam, shocked an actual woman has done this to him.

I didn't respond, and turned around to face Sam once again.

"Alaina, put the gun down. Vigilante justice is not the answer here."

I shook my head.

"No. He deserves this."

"Alaina, don't let your rage blind you. Don't let it prevent you from doing what's actually right."

"I argue that my rage has done the opposite of blinding me. It has showed me who I can and can't trust."

James now stood in front of my gun.

"Okay. You have a solid arguement there. You should stop thinking about how it would affect you, and think about your family for a minute. You have a guy who wants to marry you. Your're a mother to a young boy and ten day old twins. Is Sam really worth losing everything?"

I lowered my gun slowly as tears made themselves known in my eyes.

"Don't worry. He's going to pay for what he did to Brenda Mills, your fiance. The Phoenix police department and our station has a pretty hefty case hanging over this scumbag's head," He looked down at a worried Sam.

"Go home to the family, Alaina."

"What about Sam?"

"I can handle this. You going to go, or do I have to call Jarry down here to get you the hell out of here?"

As I entered the doorway to Jax's hospital room, I jumped when I saw him looking at me.

"Shit, you scared me," I held my hand to my chest as I moved closer to the hospital bed.

"Two hours and forty seven minutes."

"What?", I asked in confusion, making myself comfortable on the hospital bed next to him.

"That's how long you've been gone to get a "soda," he pulled the pillow from underneath his head, and placed it next to him for me to lay on.

"Sorry, I just went for a drive to clear my head."

"What's wrong? You alright."

I draped one of my arms across his chest, finally laying my head on the pillow.

"I am now."

I heard movement not too far away from the hospital bed.

Jax was not next to me, but I saw the bathroom light on from underneath the door.

I turned my head, and saw a battered Tara in her surgical scrubs.

"Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to wake you. I just wanted to check on Jax to see how he's doing since I saw him yesterday."

What! He saw her yesterday! Why didn't he tell me! Wait, what are you doing, Alaina? She's a doctor here. He probably didn't say anything since it was most likely an innocent encounter. Though to her, it was so much more than some god damn encounter.. Breathe, Alaina. Don't get crazy. Not unless there is a good reason to. That is what this woman wants.

I sat up in the bed, letting out a small yawn.

"Jesus christ, who did that to you?"

"My ex, Joshua. You can smile. I know you want to."

"Why would I smile about that? Yeah, I don't like you, but I would never wish this on anyone. Not even my worst enemy."

"I'm flattered."

"You can go down to the station and file a report. We actually have cops who specialize in this kind of situation. They can provide protection until the asshole is charged."

"Noted. Thank you. "

Her pager started to beep, making me smile internally.

It was excruciatingly hard to be nice to my fiance's ex.

She pushed the button on the beeper.

"Shit, I gotta go. Take care."

"You too," I smiled as she left the room in hurry.

Jax opened the door with a grin on his face.

"What?"

"You were actually being nice to Tara."

"Babe, sorry to burst your bubble, but a threesome aint happening."

"Who said I wanted a threesome?"

"You didn't have to. "

"The only threesome I would ever be interested in is if there's two of you."

"Nice save," I gave him a kiss as he strolled back over to the bed.

"All joking aside, I'm glad you let her know you can help. "

"I am willing to be civil just as long as she knows you're my guy. If she feels like ignoring that fact, civil is going right out the god damn window."

2 am.

I rocked Michael back and forth in the chair in the corner of the room.

His small hand rested on my chest as I breastfed him.

"Easy there, buddy. It feels like you're sucking the life out of me," I joked as he continued to feed from me.

Jax came into the room, sitting down on the daybed.

"Happy Birthday, daddy."

"Thank you."

"Have you given any more thought about what you want to do for your birthday?"

"I have a few things in mind. But, there's two things I want more than anything."

"Okay, you name it."

"I want you to get my crow today. Hap is going to do it. He was the one who did my tat on my back and arm."

"Really? Okay, consider it done. What's the other thing?"

"Alaina Larson becomes Alaina Teller."

"Wha.. Your mom has been planning this bi.."

"I talked to my mom. She's on board with it. What about you?"
