Dear lord.

We actually made it to the end, guys! Only the epilogue after this!

And honestly, some of you! So you really think I would end it with Romitri apart? After everything they've been through? After 50+ chapters? Oh ye readers of so little faith... ;)

Four Months Later…

"Thank you all for coming to this meeting," Queen Tatiana smiled at the crowd of Dhampir and Moroi before her. Behind her, Lissa Dragomir and Hans Croft stood, proud of what they had accomplished in the months following the Great Battle, as it would be called.

"I am aware that you all have heard some rumors…that change is coming to our system, to the way things shall be run going forward."

"About fucking time," Eddie Castile rolled his eyes, making his fellow Guardians around him, including one Dimitri Belikov, chuckled quietly.

"Some of these rumors may be true, some may not be. But here to tell you the truth of the matter, is Vasilisa Dragomir, the very architect of this idea. After months of deliberation, Vasilisa here ultimately came up with this resolution, and may I just say, it is brilliant. Vasilisa dear, you have shown great leadership in undertaking this project, I am so very proud of you, and look forward to your future work." In a rare moment, Tatiana had a genuine smile on her face, and a glint in her eye that hinted at more changes to come.

Lissa smiled demurely as she accepted Tatiana's praise, moving forward to the podium to speak.

"Hello everybody, thank you for coming. And thank you, Queen Tatiana for that lovely introduction." She took a deep breath. "Today, we begin a new chapter in the way we fight and defend ourselves, and in the way we handle our relations with others. I think we can all agree that months ago, when we received help from the Elite Agents and their fellow Guardians, we were all humbled by their abilities."

What an understatement.

"In watching their work, I think we can all admit, however begrudgingly, that we were behind, way behind in the times. From their policies and ideas to their skills, it was clear to see that we did not compete. But we all are capable of more; accomplishing more than we have in smarter and more efficient ways. I know you are capable of better, as I witnessed it with my own eyes at the Great Battle. To see how much you all grew when the limitations were taken away, were astounding. You all astounded me, our Queen, and the Council. Perhaps you even surprised yourselves. Whatever the matter is, while the Great Battle was a harrowing experience, it also brought about a great change. A good change. A change in the right direction. Watching their work, watching people of all species and from all walks of life come together and simply fight for a common goal, was inspiring. When you think about it, it is not a hard concept of idea to apply to any situation. Yet we struggled with it. We have struggled with the concept of inclusiveness for far too long. We label those who are different; those who chose not to fight, those who chose to raise a family, those who chose love over duty. And while I might not speak for all Moroi when I say this, I hope that I speak for the majority; it is time to stop the labelling and the snobbery. It is time we stop seeing you and us and start seeing we, so we can stop the discrimination and the pettiness, and focus on what matters; bettering our world. And so," Lissa smiled proudly, over the applause that was growing "it is with great pleasure that I, along with our Queen and Head Guardian Hans, can tell you that have come up with a mass overhaul of the Guardian system. From more flexible scheduling, to higher pay, to more time off, to a Moroi defense program, we hope these changes allow for us to close the gap. So that Guardians can better themselves and so Moroi can pick up some of the slack. I sincerely hope," at this point Lissa was on the verge of yelling in order to be heard over the roar of applause, "that one day Moroi and Dhampir and whomever else, will all be fighting side by side, and that there will be nothing out of the ordinary about that. Thank you."

Lissa stepped back from the podium to take in the scene before her. The crowd, most of them Guardians, but some young Moroi in attendance as well, was on their feet. The majority of them cheered this new direction. From groups of Guardians actually externally cheering, to some, like Dimitri, who were still not as rowdy but were happily clapping with a special gleam in their eye. In all honesty, some of the older Royal Moroi may not like the changes that were coming, but they would have to deal. They had sat and done nothing for too long. Change had to come.

"Please," Lissa stepped back to the podium, "we have one more piece of information to share with you. Guardian Hans, take it away."

"Thank you, Princess Dragomir." Hans nodded to Lissa as he took the podium. "In addition to these new changed, we have once more piece of news to share with you all."

Hans waited until the hall was quiet once more.

"In order to facilitate these changes, help has once again been offered from our Agent and Guardian friends." Hans stopped here to make sure everyone was listening…and to add to the suspense. "Our new friends and allies have offered to open their borders as well, for an exchange programs of sorts. So that we may all work together to achieve our common goals." At this point Hans had to pause again, as the hall exploded in a flurry of excitement. Guardians cheered as the rumors were confirmed, already excited to begin while Moroi secretly hoped that this program also extended to their program.

"Starting soon," Hans boomed into the microphone to be heard, "you may all begin filing paperwork. This program will run worldwide…dimensions wide." To be honest Hans still had confusion over worlds and dimensions, but he would learn soon enough. "You may apply to anywhere you would like, your options are not limited to Caelum, or even the States. In addition, I believe that there are some Agents and Guardians who will be transferring here, so if you wish to stay here, that would be no issue at all-"

Hans' voice was once again drowned out by the excitement of the crowd as they debated their options.

Eddie caught Dimitri's eye, and the two men smiled slightly at one another.

They had already been given the paperwork.

Hell, Dimitri had already filled out everything, eager to see one very special woman.

And not just for the measly weekend.

For everyday.

One Month Later

It had taken a while for the programs to get completely up and running, but all the paperwork had been filed and cleared, and all the appropriate signatures gathered…

And here they were.

"Bye, man!" Eddie called, snickering as he watched the 6'7" Russian basically bolt from Guardian HQ after receiving his schedule.

"Aw, give him a break," Danila grinned as he watched his new permanent partner hail a cab and leave, "he hasn't seen her in a month with all the work it took you guys to get here…the paperwork and the packing."

"But you guys made it!" Josh cheered as he came through the doors, "and we gotta celebrate! Drinks at the pub, now! C'mon guys!"

"What about everyone else? Does Rose even know we're here?" Eddie asked as he slapped the back of his friend.

"They know about tonight. But we somehow managed to keep it a secret from Rose that you guys were coming. She knew it would be sometime this week but Ben managed to hide the exact day from her. Oh but don't worry," Josh grinned, "I got a special messenger to go and drag Dimitri and Rose to the club if they try to resist."

Rose Mazur

"Ben, when I'm late for the pub tonight, I'm going to blame you and your non-problem," I grumbled in to the phone as I entered my apartment building, waving to Alexei before boarding the elevator.

I can't believe that we stayed nearly twenty minutes over just to find one damn file.

"Darling, how was I supposed to know that the file was underneath the others all that time? And don't worry, I'll tell everyone it was an error on my part for your tardiness."

"Don't get formal with me to try to weasel your way out of this," I rolled my eyes as I retrieved my keys from my bag, inserting the appropriate key to unlock the door. "Seriously, it's margarita Monday, and you know how Dianna-"

I nearly dropped my phone at the sight before me.

"I take it from your silence you have entered your apartment," I vaguely heard Ben chuckle through the phone. "Surprise darling, I'll leave you two to it. But remember, margarita Monday."

I blinked.

Once.

Twice.

His luscious lips, one that I had been denied for nearly an entire month due to my recent hectic schedule and his working out of the transfer, quirked up.

"Hello Roza."

"Hi…Comrade."

We stood, staring at each other for a moment.

"You're here," I stated simply.

He opened his arms wide. "In the flesh."

I couldn't help it anymore, and flew into his arms. "You're really here! When did you get in? Where's your stuff?"

"I dropped everything off at my roon in Guardian HQ a few hours ago…had to have your friends keep you busy while I snuck in here," he smirked as he tweaked my nose.

"Those little sneaks…and you big sneak." I tried to sound stern, but the giant smile on my face might have given away my intentions.

"I wanted to surprise you," his arms snaked lower down my waist. "Don't be mad…I'll make it up to you, I promise."

"You better," I breathed out before finally closing the distance between us our mouths meeting in a fierce tango for domination. The scent of his aftershave overtook my senses. We clutched to each other, him gently running his hands through my hair, which he loved so much. Me, running my hands up and down his strong toned back, relishing in the comfort that being in his arms brought.

God, one month had been way too long.

"We're…suppose…to go meet…everyone…for drinks," Dimitri breathed out, in between out increasingly heated kisses.

"We-we can totally ditch…have plenty of time to talk to them…later," I responded, sneaking my hands under his shirt to meet bare flesh.

"Oh no you don't." Came from the door way.

Aw fuck.

Dimitri and I turned to greet our intruder…well I would greet her, Dimitri still hadn't officially met her yet.

"Clara-"

"Nope. No, don't you dare try to get out of this, Roza," the 5'2" dynamo stared me and Dimitri down with her wide doe eyes narrowing into a glare. "This is an opportunity for all of us to be together! To celebrate! Adrian's already at the pub and we're gonna make him order the good stuff!"

"But Clara!" I pleaded, half-jokingly. "Look at him!"

Clara eyed Dimitri, a mischievous gleam in her eyes. "Yes, yes I know, Hot Russian God and all that, but I'd still pick your partner any day, sorry dear," she added, directing that at Dimitri.

"It's fine," Dimitri smiled politely. "It's nice to officially meet you, Clara."

"Mhmm, I've heard a lot about you over the years Dimitri. I feel as if I know you pretty damn well," Clara mused.

Shit.

I think Dimitri has to face another round of intimidation now.

"We'll talk one day," she smiled demurely at Dimitri before turning back to me.

"You both need to change and go meet us at the pub. Darling, it's margarita Monday and I refuse to allow you to miss it! Chop chop, socialize with friends now, bone until both your bits fall off later!"

"Clara!" I gaped, but she had already turned and left, laughing all the way.

Dimitri chuckled a bit. "So that's Clara…when did she wake up?"

I couldn't help but beam as I remembered that momentous night; getting the frantic phone call from Ben at three in the morning, rushing down to St, Julianna's, finally meeting Clara properly…watching my best friends and partner absolutely break down from the overwhelming feelings of joy…

"About three weeks ago. It was a hell of a night. I'll tell you about it later?"

"Of course," he smiled. "But, I think it's best if we get changed and head over to the bar. Lest anyone else comes looking for us."

"Fine," I felt myself pout. "But after drinks…"

"I'm all yours," he practically growled.

Did I know what the future would hold for me and Dimitri?

No.

Was I naïve enough to believe that we were golden now? That we had finally gotten our happily ever after?

No.

Don't get me wrong, the beginning of us was long overdue and a hard fought battle. But in the end, we made it through to arrive at this moment. Would it all be rainbows and unicorns from here on out?

No.

We would probably fight sometimes, like all normal couples, probably about nothing. So yes, disagree and such, but we would always make up. We would probably deal with nosy family members and friends. We would have bad days sometimes, but hopefully the good days would out number the bad.

In all honesty, I had no clue what would happen.

And that's okay.

Life's a mystery, but we would be okay.

So long as we faced it together.

I smiled a sweet smile at the man before me, before taking his warm hand in mine, and leading him to start our future.
