Five Nights, One Foxy Chapter 43

A/N: Eyyyyyyyy I'm back! :D

Hahahaha I bet no one reads this anymore lololol XD ;-;

Yeah, so I decided to wait until school was over to work on the chapter. If I did it during finals month it wouldn't have been as good :P

I've slowly been easing my way out of the FNAF fandom, mostly because of other stuff.

NOT ALL THE WAY THO. IM STILL A LITTLE BIT ATTACHED DONT WORRY.

But I'm determined to finish this!

November 27, 1998 11:12 PM

I sighed, adjusting the collar of my T-shirt. I was standing in front of the glass doors of the pizzeria. It was dark out, the only lights coming from inside the building.

Yes, I decided to come back for the last night. I didn't care if anyone was helping me or not. I didn't care anymore. I just wanted to get through this last night and be done. It'll be one less thing Utah has to worry about tonight.

A police siren wailed a couple streets down. The manhunt for my dad was still in progress. It's been all over the news since I called them. I still can't believe they haven't found him yet. It's like he disappeared off the face of the earth.

I pushed open the doors, stepping into the building for what was hopefully the last time, followed by a blast of warm air from the heater. The lights were still on and the animatronics were seated at one of the tables. The deck of cards was out again.

To my surprise, Mike and Jeremy were with them.

Six heads looked up and spotted me. They were happy to see me. They wouldn't be for long, though, when they learn what happened.

"Ahoy, l-lass!" Foxy greeted cheerfully.

"Hiya Ms. Night Watch!" The other three chorused.

"Didn't think you would show up," Mike said. His smile didn't quite reach his eyes. He was clearly concerned.

I faked a grin. "Might as well, right?" I took a seat between him and Foxy, resting my crossed arms on the tablecloth. I didn't make eye contact with any of them. I couldn't without seeing the five kids and remembering what my dad did.

"Want us to deal you in? We just started this game," Freddy offered.

I shook my head. I really didn't feel like playing. "I'm good. You guys can finish this round."

There was a pause.

"Alright," Chica said, a little hesitantly.

"Something eatin' you, Blondie?" Jeremy asked.

I bit the inside of my cheek, trying to keep it together. "No, I'm just tired."

It wasn't a total lie. I had managed a three-hour nap before I arrived, but the four nights of no sleep took a toll on me. I would've slept longer that afternoon, but the guilt was gnawing away at me.

They continued playing, although I noticed it wasn't with as much energy as last time. I felt their gazes burn into my skull. I just stared down at my clasped hands, which found themselves in my lap. It felt like if I looked at any of them, the secret would come out and they would hate me. I didn't want that to happen.

Halfway through the second game Foxy suddenly slammed down his cards, an apparent habit he had.

"Lass, ye-ye ma-may be a n-n-night watch, but y-yer a re-real b-bad liar," he grumbled. "Wh-what's t'e problem?"

"Nothing!" I protested. I plastered another smile on my face to make it believable. "I told you, I'm just a little bit out of it."

"Are you sure?" Bonnie inquired.

I wished they would stop asking questions. "Yes."

Mike shot me a knowing glance. "You know, you can tell us if something's wrong," he said.

I could practically feel the vein pulsing in my forehead. I hated lying to them, but they were just making it more difficult.

"I know," I replied, my words short like chips of ice. "There's just nothing to talk about. Nothing to be concerned about. At all."

I contemplated kicking myself in the face. Everything I said just made my excuses more suspicious. They couldn't know. I didn't want them to find out. What would they think of me?

"You look a little pale," Freddy observed.

"Are you hungry? I can cook you something," Chica offered.

They were being so nice to me and I didn't deserve it. I was related to their killer, after all.

"I'm fine," I spat, feeling my fuse get shorter by the minute.

Jeremy slammed his cane into the ground, dangerously close to my foot, and I flinched away. "Balderdash. I know that look when I see it. You're hiding something."

Even Jeremy was onto me.

"Na-Natalie? What are y-ye hi-hi-hidin' from u-us?" Foxy asked curiously.

I didn't look at them or say anything. My hands were shaking and I wanted nothing more than to disappear.

"Ms. Night Watch?" Chica piped up. Her voice was unusually quiet, scared almost.

"You wanna know what happened?" I found myself saying. I then chuckled dryly. "Do you really wanna know?"

No, stop! Don't tell them!

There was a hesitation, then the animatronics simultaneously nodded.

Just make something up! Mike won't say anything.

"Well, what happened was I went back to my house this afternoon, only to find that my parents have been lying to me and keeping secrets my whole freaking childhood!" I rambled, slamming my hands down on the table and standing up.

Don't you dare say anything else!

"What secrets?" Freddy asked, a little alarmed.

Don't do it!

But I couldn't stop.

"Oh gee, I don't know!" I shouted, my voice dripping with sarcasm. "Maybe the fact that they've, more or less, MURDERED a couple of people. No biggie!"

Idiot! Idiot! Now look what you've done!

"Wait, what?!" Bonnie gasped.

"Yeah!" I continued. "And that's not all! Apparently, my dad was around during the whole 1987-killing-stuff. In fact, he was the one that KILLED you guys? Small freaking world, huh?"

There was stunned silence. I could feel their gazes on me again. It burned even more this time. I collapsed back into my chair, breathing heavily. I then realized that hot tears were streaming down my cheeks.

They were murdered by your own father. They hate you now.

I giggled again, resting my head in my hands. "Oh God..."

"Sweet Lord..." Jeremy muttered.

"Haha...I'm such a mess-up," I said through my fit of laughter and crying. "Guess it runs in the family, huh?"

"Natalie..." Chica began, using my real name for once.

"I get it," I went on. I didn't want to hear them; it made me sick. "Feel free to stuff me tonight. I don't even care anymore."

"Come on," Mike said nervously. "Don't say things like that."

Just let them kill you. It's the least they deserve for being backstabbed.

I laughed some more. Even I was scared for my mental health at this point. "No no, it's fine. Hahaha...I would say sorry, but I guess it's a bit late for that."

"Let's not get hasty here," Freddy said. "Look, Ms. N-I mean, Natalie, we don't blame you."

Wait, what did he say? I raised my head a little.

"Yeah, what your dad did to us was out of your control. There's nothing you could have done to stop it," Chica said.

Are they seriously forgiving you?!

"Besides, you seem nice. You don't seem like the type of person to kill," Bonnie added.

What is this, a cheesy little kids' show?! This is unforgivable!

"Yeah, la-lass. Wh-why would we t-treat you any-any differently cuz o-o-of a lil' ro-rou-rough seas?" Foxy said with a toothy grin.

"Seriously?" I found myself saying. I had expected nasty words and violence, certainly not this. "You really trust me that much?"

"Well of course," Freddy replied. "Why wouldn't we?"
