Chapter 31
As May came to a close (Hufflepuff still celebrating their third triumphant year as Quidditch House Cup winners) and June was looming over the seventh and fifth years, it was time for O.W.L.S and N.E. .
In the Slytherin common room, Kamui looked over all of his notes from the past seven years; his fingers in his ears as he read. Syaoron had taken to the library with his twin and Tomoyo to study for their O.W.L.S.
In the Hufflepuff common room, Sakura peeked over her notes from Charms to see a familiar scene playing; it was like déjà vu.
"How many days do lacewing flies have to stew before you can add them to the Polyjuice potion?"
"Err….two weeks?"
"Three weeks…sorry Fuuma."
"It's not your fault Subaru." Fuuma stood up, putting his potions book down before for possibly the final time his foot came in contact with the trashcan. "STUPID POTIONS N.E.W.T! IT'S JUST AS USELESS AS THE MUGGLE SUBJECT OF ALGEBRA, WHEN AM I GOING TO USE THIS CRAP? WHEN? I'M GOING TO BE A PRO QUIDDITCH PLAYER DAMN IT! I DON'T HAVE TIME TO KNOW HOW MANY DAYS SOME DEAD INSECT STEWS BEFORE I ADD IT TO SOME GLOP IN A CAULDRON!"
Subaru giggled slightly, Fuuma was a lot of things. He was agile, smart, perceptive, and he was usually very patient. Until it came to homework, then not so much. Idly Subaru wondered how Seishirou studied for his N.E.W.T.S. He remembered two years ago the other teen being highly irritable during this time despite how cocky he usually was. Except for when it came to Subaru, he was pleasant as he could be.
Do I really have that much influence on him? Or was he just hiding his true self from me?
"AURGH! I'M NEVER GOING TO PASS THIS THING! GOOD! AURGH!"
"Fuuma, you're going to get stuck again!"
"Trust me Sakura I know what I'm dooooinngg—ow that bloody hurt."
Subaru opened his eyes and saw his brother-in-law sprawled on the floor the trashcan on top of his head.
"HAHAHA EVERYONE THE BIG SEVENTH YEAR FELL."
"LISTEN TO ME YOU LITTLE LEECHES WAIT TILL YOU GET THIS FAR ITS STRESSFUL!"

With the weight of exams over, Subaru was sitting with Hokuto in the great hall (Kamui had went with Fuuma on a date to Hogsmeade). "Who are you writing to Hokuto?"
"Hmm? Oh just a penpal, his name is Kakyou."
"Oh Kakyou Kuzuki? He was in the Wizard's Chess Club, he was a year above Sei-kun."
"Yup that's him. Speaking of Sei-chan, how come you're not meeting him in Hogsmeade?"
"I don't know, I never got a real response from him, he said he was busy today but wouldn't say why."
"Well then you write to him right now and see what he's up to! The nerve, avoiding you like that!"
"Hokuto please don't make a fuss."
Hokuto puffed out her chest but decided to give it a rest. "Say, I wonder what Fuuma needed to talk to Kamui about?"
"I don't know but they'll be alright, right?"
"Yes, their bond rivals yours and Sei-chan's."

Kamui leaned over various trays of sweets in Honeydukes as Fuuma sucked on a sugar quill. "Kamui…"
"Yeah, what is it?"
"Have you thought about what you're going to do when you leave Hogwarts?"
"Not really, no. It's sad, Hokuto wants to open a dress robe shop, already has the money saved for it. Subaru's going straight to the Ministry, and hell, even your slack-off brother knew what he was going to do. I feel pathetic."
"Ah you shouldn't, I didn't know what I was going to do either until recently. I mean I have a lot to live up to as well. My dad's a healer, my mother's a government assassin..."
"Who cares? You're not a monster like her..."
He got a warm smile in return. "Maybe. Then there's my brother, top of his class in both Hogwarts and his Auror training. So it's always been like- 'what am I going to do?'"
"Well what are you going to do?"
"Well remember that man that came up to me after we won the Quidditch House Cup?"
"Yeah, what of it?"
"He was from the Ministry, the Department of Magical Sports Division, he also represents the Tokyo Dragons."
"THE PRO QUIDDITCH TEAM?!"
"Yes...and he wants to scout me for it."
"A-are you going?"
"Yes, I've always wanted to travel, to go around the world."
"I see...when do you leave?"
"September. So that gives us plenty of time, we'll be okay." Discarding his now devoured sugar quill, he bent down to meet the shorter boy with a kiss. "So relax, and no angsting about me leaving."
Kamui smiled at Fuuma but deep down he wondered just what it would be like to not see him that much come September. There was one person he could ask about it, Subaru knew that feeling well and Kamui decided when they got back to Hogwarts he was going to pull his twin aside for a little chat.
