Author's Note: The 365 Project is an experimental multi-fandom project to write and post at least one short every day for the next year, not including my semi-regular bi-weekly updates. For more details, see the relevent section in my profile. This is The 365 Project, 31 December. Which means this is the last Project story. What can I say to the readers who have stuck around for the last year, through days of great inspiration and days when I've had to force myself to write, to all the people who have taken time out of their own year to review and all of those who found one of my stories in one of their favorite fandoms and decided to see what else I had written... What can anyone say but 'Thanks'?

Well, 'Thanks' and 'This coming year, I'll try to actually get something posted on some of my longer stories, including the ones birthed by The 365 Project, and maybe even finish up some one-shots or medium-length stories while I'm at it... but I make no promises.'

In the immortal words of Samuel L. Clemens... "Persons attempting to find a motive in this narrative will be prosecuted; persons attempting to find a moral in it will be banished; persons attempting to find a plot in it will be shot. BY ORDER OF THE AUTHOR."

"Seasons of Love"

"Measure your life, measure your life in love!"

The last lines of the movie's final song echoed in the media room of the Luthor mansion. Scattered throughout the room, the extended Luthor clan and their closest friends... and it was a strange fact that not one of the actual blood-related Luthors carried the same last name; Lex was a Luthor by law, but his half-sister Tess had been put up for adoption and raised a Mercer, while their other half-sibling Conner actually carried the name of the other person whose genetic material had been used in his creation, his name, like Clark and Kara's was Kent... watched as the credits began to roll. Clark was sitting in the middle of a couch with his feet up on a coffee table with Tess and Alicia curled up into either side of him while Lex and Kara were sharing a loveseat and Connor, in a recliner by himself, wrinkled his nose up at all the sappiness.

"Well," the youngest Kent/Luthor complained, "That was time I'll never get back - I still say we should have watched 'Boondock Saints'."

"It was different than what we'd normally watch," Lex answered his half-clone/half-brother, "But I don't think it was that bad."

"Yeah, because you're whipped," Conner retorted, making a whipping action and sound.

"I am not-"

Lex's response was cut off as Conner repeated, "Whipped!"

"Cursed by genetics, huh, Lex?" Tess teased her older half-brother, "Just imagine what he'd be like without Clark's influence."

"You mean those pesky things like morals and scruples?" Lex shot back.

"Those and hair," Alicia chimed in, smirking as she reached up and ran her fingers through Clark's own hair.

"Hair's not everything," Kara informed the other woman, raising her head slightly from where it rested on Lex's shoulder, "Besides, I think you're missing the whole point of the movie, Kon."

Conner folded his arms and snorted, "Of course the great Kara Zor-El knows better than anyone else."

Kara rolled her eyes, "Just think about the last year, Kon - what have we been through, all of us? I lost my memory and almost didn't get it back, Kon, I wouldn't want anyone to go through that."

"I was dead and got brought back from death by Lionel from an alternate universe," Lex remarked, "Though I've got to admit, it helped me realise something - prophecies exist merely to give people an excuse for their actions or inactions. In and of themselves, they have no real power. Namaan and Sageeth is a good legend, that doesn't mean it has to be part of some cycle of time that keeps repeating itself... and I refuse to let some old cave art dictate my life any further."

"At least you didn't have to dig yourself out of your grave," Alicia reminded him, "That was not fun. For that matter, neither was finding out that Clark had moved on to another woman while I was dead."

Tess looked across Clark at the blonde, "Hey, I'm willing to share - it could have been worse, he could have moved on to Queen Lois the First."

"Lois isn't that bad..." Clark muttered.

"Clark, I know she helped you after I died," Alica countered, "But face it since then she's become self-important, overbearing and downright rude. Give it up; just because she's Chloe's cousin doesn't mean she'll have any of her redeeming qualities."

"The only reason I haven't fired her is because she still sells papers," Tess agreed, "But the day her attitude exceeds her sales figures, I'm going to enjoy kicking her butt out of the building... and if I'm in a generous mood, I might even do it on the ground floor instead of straight out my office window."

"And there's that violent, vindictive, vengeful..." Lex frowned, "Anyone know another good 'V' word... don't even go there, Conner..."

The teenager growled, "If you wouldn't give me openings like that, I wouldn't be able to even think of it, Lex."

"Anyway," Lex continued, "It's saying things like that, Tess, that reminds anyone who starts to forget that you're definitely a Luthor. I suddenly feel sorry for Jonathan Kent - speaking of graves, he's probably rolling over in his grave at the fact that not only are Clark and Alicia back together, but a biological Luthor is now part of the mix."

"Lex..." Clark said warningly.

Lex pointed at the other man, smirking, "You, you're the one whose really had themselves a year, though; died, came back to life, had an old girlfriend come back to life and join in a threesome with you and your current girlfriend... fought a god and won, moved a planet... What will you do next year?"

"With any luck?" Clark asked rhetorically, "Have a nice, 'normal', peaceful year where my biggest concern is remembering my anniversaries."

"How about one where it's figuring out how to legally marry both Tess and Alicia?" Conner quipped, "You know Ma doesn't like the idea of the three of you 'living in sin'."

"Conner..." Clark looked at him sharply, "Got to bed."

"Oh, sure," Conner muttered as he stood up, "Just because I tell the truth..."
