Chapter 53
Midnight Mayhem and X-Men Part Two
Todd and Candy kissed in the warm waters of the small lake. The moon was perfect for lighting the waters without making it obvious there were two figures in the water. Their clothes were tossed on the bank where they'd thrown them after a few cannonballs in the water before turning it into their current kisses near the riverbank this was also after a few laps and a splash fight.
"This is how I pictured vacation, yo," said Todd as they relaxed in the water, "It will probably fall back into chaos before the week is out."
"Well, it's the first day, I'm sure it will go downhill," smiled Candy, "My sister wants to go horseback riding tomorrow and have you ever even been on a horse?"
"I ain't even ever pet one…. I wasn't even involved the time Lance tried to serenade Kitty on horseback," said Todd with a sigh, "I bet you're excited by that?"
"Well, maybe I can make it so we could sneak away and maybe… look at wedding stuff," said Candy casually, "I don't know maybe.. look at some dates….. wait serenading on horseback?"
"Babe, just tell me when we're getting married, I will show up," smirked Todd.
"Well, I hope that you'd be more involved," said Candy, her smile fell.
"Yo, wait.. I am gonna be… what I mean is…" Todd's response was shut off as screams and yells filled the air, followed by splashes, "And so the chaos begins."
"Hello lovers," said Pyro as he swam by, "Naked lovers I see."
"Why?" asked Todd, he looked up to no one in particular, he was more disturbed by Candy's lack of shock, she was far too used to the Brotherhood.
"Oh it's that kind of swimming, is it," said Tabitha as she tossed some of her items back on the bank, "My kind."
"Well I think I'm done swimming," said Candy as she slid behind Todd and began moving him closer to the shore.
"Oh… yeah, play it cool though," said Todd, he started drifting them farther away from them.
"Behind the trees," said Candy as they drifted around the corner, the froze and ducked behind a rock as they saw Nature and Sharka walking up the path.
"Nate, listen, who cares," said Sharka, "Your all on vacation and Candy's an adult… Zodiac's an adult. You are not their babystitters… I mean I know Candy's your little sister but Zodiac isn't even your cousin by blood… she's you friend and if she want to have fun and go out, let her. You're not her mother."
"Sharka, I'm aware of that," sighed Nature, "Maybe I am overreacting… let them have fun… I'll talk to them in the morning, there smart enough not to run off and do dumb childish things….. you wanted to say something… What is that?"
"I… sounds like screaming," sighed Sharka as Nature headed off and he followed, Todd and Candy cleared the area around a different embankment.
"That could have been awkward," said Candy, she looked up, "Think we can make it to the house?"
"I think we can sure as hell try," said Todd.
"Do it," said Pietro, they both yelled and turned around to see Pietro swimming by, "I support streaking…. Also it'll answer my question… Candy."
"What question?" asked Todd, Candy shrugged.
"The first one I ever asked you and Toad won't answer," said Pietro as Pyro headed over that way on a small tidal wave.
"Wahooo!" yelled Pyro, "Gotta annoy Nature more often. Sharka tripped and they fell in, mates… why are you three over here…. Is this a private moment?"
"No, just trying to avoid Nature," said Candy, she looked at Pietro, "And Pietro…."
"Curiosity killed the cat Pietro," said Todd with a sigh.
"Yeah… but satisfaction brought it back," said Pietro, he began swimming away.
"Let's run," said Candy, they swam towards the shore as a soaking wet Lance walked by in dripping clothes.
"Great, now it's broke," grumbled Lance, "Toad can I borrow your phone?"
"Uh…. I ain't got it on me," said Todd with a shrug, Lance scoffed and walked off, "Where did he think it was?"
"I don't know but… nevermind," said Candy as a soaking wet Zodiac walked by holding her eye followed by an apologizing William.
"It's fine," said Zodiac, "Hey Candy do you have any Tylenol back at the ranch?"
"My purse, what happened?" asked Candy, swimming closer to the shore.
"I elbowed her," said William, "I am so sorry."
"It was an accident, its fine…. Thanks Candy," said Zodiac walking by, William following after her.
"This is a really busy walkway," said Todd with a sigh, they heard a shriek from deeper in the woods, "Oh what the hell was that?"
"Our luck a serial killer," said Candy with a sigh.
"Possibly," sighed Todd as they heard Lance yell, "Okay now I'm concerned."
"Are you gonna do a naked run and check?" asked Candy, "I'm not sure I'm willing to do that."
"What's with the screaming, mates?" asked Pyro as he ran along the path dripping and looking alert, "Was that Avalanche?"
"Oh!" Candy's face flushed and she turned to cover her eyes in Todd's neck, "Apparently Pyro is?"
"You should go check," said Todd quickly, he was fighting back tears of laughter as a naked Pyro ran down the path and into the woods, there was more screaming, "I really want to know but I ain't joining."
"It's not funny, what if we just sent Pyro to his naked death," said Candy, but she was laughing.
"Well here he comes," said Todd, Candy looked down as the water laughing as Pyro jumped back in.
"No problem, just the X-men… don't know what all the screaming about," said Pyro swimming by casually and back around the bend, "Oi, the X-men are staying next door!"
"Oh, this is going to be an interesting week," said Todd, Candy snorted in laughter as she sunk into the water.
