Chapter 49: Frozen

"She's back the Blue Fairy." Neal said, when they arrived in Gold's shop. She gave us the wand."

"Do we need anything else?" David asked Rumple.

"Only one more item."

"What is that?" Emma asked him as he took a leather bad from one of his cupboards.

"This is one of the only useful things I managed to pilfer from Greg and Tamara before they left for Neverland." It was a cuff... The one like Lily had worn.

"It renders anyone with magic utterly powerless." He stated. "Let me see your wrist, Henry." He put it on Pan's wrist. "I wanna make sure that when my dear old friend awakes, that he's weakened. This will block his powers."

"So what happens now?" Henry asked.

"I enact the spell, you fall into a deep sleep, and when you awake, you're back in your own body." He explained.

"And then you hang on to that scroll, and you come find us as fast as you can." Regina smiled.

"When I gave my heart to Pan I thought I was being a hero." Henry sighed. "I'm sorry."

"No, you're not the one that needs to be sorry." David reassured him. "Pan is."

"It's time." Rumple said, gesturing for Henry to lie down.

"Keep your eye on the wand."

Pan watched Lily kneeling over Felix, whimpering on his chest after her mental breakdown. "He's gone, get over it." He hissed.

She glared at him. "Wh-why?!" She screamed. "H-he would never have given up like that! Not when we were so close..." She added under her breath.

He shrugged. "I may or may not have compelled him to."

Her eyes widened in shock. "Y-you mean you were... C-controlling him? Th-the whole time?" She sobbed.

Pan smirked. "Maybe."

"H-his last words... W-were they real?" She whispered desperately.

He frowned, but before he could reply, to her shock, he grabbed her wrist and she was somewhere completely unexpected; Gold's shop.

Everyone's eyes widened when they saw appear beside Pan's body, his hand entrapping hers as he slept. "H-how?" She whispered.

"We've found a way to switch Henry back to his normal body." Rumple told her as Neal ran to her side and tried to help her out of Peter's grip, but it wouldn't budge.

"What happened?" He asked her, "Are you alright? Did he hurt you?"

She stared into her brother's eyes, tears streaming down her pale face. "H-he k-killed Felix." She cried.

There were a few shocked sounds from beside them, where the rest of the team stood. "I'm sorry." He said, hugging her comfortingly.

"I'm sorry to break this up, but shouldn't we all be out looking for Henry?" Regina asked, not taking an eye off Pan's 'sleeping' body.

"You're not coming?" Belle asked Rumple, when she realized he hadn't moved.

He shook his head. "No, no, I-I think not. He and I have some unfinished business. Besides, I don't think it'd be a good idea to leave him alone in here."

Lily bit back a sob when Neal let go of her. "It'll be over soon, sis'." He swore. "I promise."

Everyone left the room, apart from herself, Pan and Rumplestilskin. "Hello, Pan."

She almost screamed when Pan moved into a sitting position, dragging her to sit beside him. "Thought you'd have killed me in my sleep, laddie." He admitted, eyebrows raised.

"I guess you've changed your-" He glanced down at his wrist with the bracelet on it and inhaled deeply. "Oh, wait. I see." He scoffed. "You've taken away my magic. That's why it's so easy for you to strut around and pose now, isn't it?"

"I wanted to talk to you." Rumple sneered. "I wanted you to see me and think about what you've done."

Peter smirked. "Of course. To look at my old pal here at the end, and really see him and think about what might've been. Is that what you want?" He huffed. "Because I do. I remember looking at you like a younger brother back then. Your big, big eyes full of tears, pulling at me, pulling away my name, my money, my time. Pulling away any hope of making my life into something better for myself." He snarled.

"This pink, naked, squirming little larva, that wanted to eat my dreams alive and never stop. What are you now? A a couple hundred? Can't I be free of you?" He hissed.

The dark one picked up a sword. "Oh, you will be: in death."

Pan chuckled, much to Lily's shock an confusion. "Then one last lesson, son. Never make a cage you can't get out of." Without an effort, Peter ripped off the cuff. "I made this cuff, you know. 'Doesn't work on me."

He clicked his fingers and the cuff appeared on Rumple's wrist. "But on you?"

"Down, boy." The dark one was flown to the other side of the room, shattering the glass shelves, and priceless objects. "Let's see how you do without magic."

He went to attack him, but Lily held him back. "No!" She yelled. "Please! Don't hurt him!"

Peter glared at her angrily. "It's too late." He cupped her cheek in a harsh grip and threw her roughly beside Rumple. "Soon, that fine green smoke will fill their lungs, then fog their brains." He snarled. "And unlike the rest of this town, I'm not just going to take their memories." He scoffed. "No. Because of their special meaning to you two, I'm going to take their lives. And you won't do a thing to stop me." He glanced at Rumple.

"Do you know why? Because without magic, you are right back to where you started: the village coward."

He grabbed Lily by the hair and dragged her outside, where they found the rest of the team and Henry surrounding Regina.

Something must have happened. "Are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm fine." Regina sighed. "It was just..." She trailed off.

"What is it? What happened when you touched it?" Snow asked her.

"I saw what needed to be done." She stared at Henry and smiled weakly.

Henry frowned slightly, noticing the lack of confidence in her voice. "Mum, a are you gonna be okay?" He asked her.

"The important thing is, you will be."

This made Pan chuckle. "No, he won't."

"Lily!" Hook yelled, when he saw how Pan was holding her. But his eyes lingered to something that made his stomach churn slightly. "He has the-!"

Peter waved his hand in front of them all, causing them to freeze. "-Curse? That I do." He grinned devilishly. "Look at you all." He chuckled. "A captive audience. I could play with you like a pack of dolls, couldn't I? But I think I'll start with these two." He gestured to Baelfire and Belle.

"Hmm, you both look so adorable." He mocked. "Hard to tell which one to kill first." Lily's stomach churned.

"P-please d-!" Lily started, but he struck her hard across the face, causing her to fall on the concrete. She looked up at him fearfully as she clutched her cheek in shock and pain, tears welling in her eyes.

He smirked. "Actually, no, it isn't." He smirked. "You." He pointed to Neal, Lily's brother. "You first."

"Stay away from them." Lily shouted, standing on her feet as Rumple made his way out of the shop.

"Well, how about this?" Peter chuckled. "The worm has teeth. What, you're here to pwotect your wuved ones?"

"I'm not going to let you touch either one of them." Rumple snarled.

"Oh, and I'd like to see that." Peter scoffed.

"Oh, you will." A voice said from beside them, but Lily saw no one there. It was just a voice.

Pan however, must have seen whoever it was, because he merely grinned. "Hello, Jack." He greeted mockingly. "Missed me?"

Lily's eyes widened in amazement when she saw a shard of ice almost puncture Pan's skin. "You should think twice before trying to hurt me, Jack." He smirked, melting the ice with fire. "Have you forgotten the terms to our deal?"

That's when realisation hit her.

Peter grinned at her. "The price he paid to keep you longer than planned was to never be able to find a way to see you. To be taken to a land where people didn't believe in him. Somewhere he'd never be seen."

"Didn't believe?" Lily repeated. "Y-you mean they-?"

He glared at her. "They're starting to. Some children started believing. See, my shadow collects boys from many realms, and children have seen him... Thinking he's some kind of boogie man."

"D-do they believe in my father, though?" She wondered aloud.

Peter cupped her chin in a vice like grip. "His heart became frozen when he realized he'd never see you again. He gained powers... Controlling the ice in winter. For many centuries there had been legends about one man causing snow and ice. But they're wrong."

That's when she saw him... "P-p-papa?"
