Minato kicked the door to his house open with a frustrated sigh. Carrying Terry from the bridge all the way towards his house was more difficult than he thought.
Hamuko noticed him first and sped past the others, ending right in front of his face. "Are you okay!?" She eyed Terry who was still unconscious. "Is he okay!?"
"Yes yes," Minato sighed, hurling Terry onto the couch with another sigh. "He sustained some wounds, but a healing session will take care of that." He looked around. "Uh, where's Ruby? Is she okay?"
"Yeah, she went home for a bit, but don't worry... Theo went with her," Hamuko reassured.
"So, Terry went to confront Ryder, right?" Junpei spoke up. "Is... Ryder still... alive?" He muttered, but loud enough for Minato to hear.
The blue haired teen shot his friend a dirty look. "Of course he is," He spat, folding his arms. "He might be an asshole, but I don't want him to die. He'll come back, as a team mate."
Sora shook his head. "I highly doubt that, mate. This is Ryder we're talking about. He doesn't budge an inch from his goals."
"He did once, and he can do it again," Minato countered.
"You don't get it man," Sora clicked his tongue. "He's a bad guy now, you know it and I know it. And as well as you him, you should also know that he will kill himself before changing his ideals once again."
"Screw you, Sora," Minato snarled, almost wanting to slaps the lips off Sora's face. But he couldn't deny it, Ryder changing himself once again would be nigh-impossible, given how dedicated and focused he was.
"Chill out," Sora sighed. "I'm just stating the truth. At least applaud me for being honest, you jackass!"
Minato had half a mind to throw him out of the house, he ended up giving him a frosty glare before stomping upstairs. Elizabeth sighed and followed him.
"You are an asshole, you know that?" Hamuko spat.
"I know!" Sora nodded sagely. Hamuko hissed and followed the other two upstairs.
"Is anyone else going to love me here?" Sora said sarcastically, hoping that the trio upstairs would hear him.
"I'll love to tear off that mouth of yours," That came outta nowhere. Although, it actually made Sora blink, maybe it was because of the voice, which was laced with rage and killing intent. It was coming out in waves, and shortly after, a quiet, barely audible cackle followed, which was somewhat sinister.
Junpei, Akihiko and Sora twirled around to face Terry, who was finally awake. His usual calm and cool demeanor was replaced with a small smirk. He stood up with difficulty and almost chuckled as his leg began to protest.
"You don't get to say that!" Sora shot back. "You got your ass kicked, shut up and curl in the corner."
"Make me!" Terry sniggered, and it visibly made Sora flinch a little.
Akihiko studied his friend carefully, he was smirking despite the fact that his body was utterly trashed, and the smirk that he had on worried him. It looked a little psychotic.
"You okay, Terry?" Akihiko asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Never better," Terry nodded. "I got to hear the cracking of bones, how couldn't I be okay?"
"Not what I was expecting..." Akihiko muttered.
"And you!" Terry stood up and glanced at Sora. "I will bathe his house in your blood if you ever talk to me like that again." He began to limp his way towards his room. "Good night people, just hope that son of a bitch comes to attack us again."
"He's pissed..." Junpei noted.
"Not pissed," Akihiko rubbed his chin. "He's... been driven off the edge, it seems."
"He looks like a fucking mad man!" Sora slapped his forehead. "Do we really need more psychotic assholes around here? Fuck this all!"
...
"I want you be on caution at all times," Minato repeated for the third time. "Ryder has broken all barriers and if I'm correct, he'll attack each and every one of us, and no offense, you are the most..." Minato gulped. "Defenseless of us all."
Elizabeth cringed and balled her hand into a fist, gazing at the floor.
"Extremely sorry to be such a burden," Elizabeth mumbled.
"None of that," Minato said sternly. "You just being around here makes me wanna kick ass." The Savior ended up blushing, turning his head to the side. "W-What am I trying to say is..." He sighed. "You are kinda... alright, really important to me, and protecting you is not a duty, it a guarandamntee!"
Elizabeth smiled softly. "Thank you."
"Welcome," Minato smiled back. The two ended up staring at each other for a long time, before...
Margaret slammed her heel onto the floor, cracking the surface beneath, and making the two jump up a few inches. "Are you done? Or are you gonna continue and end up sucking each others faces? Hm?"
Elizabeth and Minato recomposed themselves and both of them shot a glare at her.
"S-Shut up, Margaret," Minato scowled.
"Do not cross me, fool," Margaret spat back.
Minato sighed, opened his mouth to protest but ended up closing it. "Whatever man."
"Smartest thing you've said all day," Margaret countered.
Minato ended up ignoring her and turned to Elizabeth. "You go on, have a good night sleep, alright?" Ever since Margaret came into the house, Elizabeth couldn't spend a single second with Minato in his room, because Margaret would end up storming in before dragging her away forcefully.
Elizabeth bowed and followed Margaret into her room, leaving Minato alone. The Fool sighed and was about to make his way towards his own room, but he stopped as a voice called out to him.
"Yo cousin, I'm going out for a bit," Minato turned around slowly and shook his head.
"Nope, I won't allow that," Minato replied.
"Why? Are you my mom?" Hamuko spat.
"Dude, its ain't safe. Ryder and those other guys are still hanging around," Minato sighed. "You can go tomorrow, in daylight."
"No dude," Hamuko sighed. "The sale ends tonight at midnight, I wanna pick some things up." Hamuko protested.
"Alright, I'm coming with you then," Minato replied.
"..."
"What?"
"I'm going to buy some bras and shit, you still wanna come?" Hamuko said deadpanning.
Minato rubbed his forehead. "I'll wait outside then, that okay?"
"Dude, why are you making such a big fuss about it?" Hamuko said with a irritated expression. This was starting to tick her off.
"I'm just worried about you Hamuko," Minato replied. "I mean, Ryder and the others are real tough bastards, and you need some protection."
"Protection? I ain't weak, I can handle myself fine," Hamuko spat, venom evident in her tone this time.
Minato shrugged it off and shook his head. "No, you are not. Not against that hooded guy or Hayate."
Hamuko's eye began to twitch. "You are so much better, huh? Aren't you?"
"I'm not unbeatable, but I'm definitely more ready to challenge them than you are right now," Minato said slowly.
Hamuko grabbed a hold of Minato's collar harshly, before pulling him closer. "You think I'm a joke!? Huh? I've busted my ass for the past decade to learn to defend myself and I'm still inferior!?"
"I've busted my ass and died, have to come anywhere near death?" Minato spat back.
"You'll die again if you don't shut up," Hamuko said darkly.
"Come to senses you fool," Minato finally shouted.
Hamuko slapped him right across the face with so much force that Minato ended up on the floor. Hamuko stormed off, shouting various profanities and insults along the way.
Minato blinked. What the hell just happened? While Hamuko was keen to have wrestling matches with him, but this slap ended up giving him a real wound, mentally for sure. The fool slowly stood up and sighed. Things were just falling apart.
Hamuko furiously walked towards the Strip Mall, her head still burning from her earlier exchange with Minato. While it was true that Hamuko cherished him as a cousin, but sometimes, Minato as a whole made her want to smash her head onto the wall.
He was always one or two steps ahead of her, whether it be studying, social life or fighting. It didn't actually bother her before, but now it was almost becoming unbearable. His fighting prowess really made Hamuko jealous, along with the fact that he could summon hundreds of different, powerful persona while she was stuck to just one.
"Goddammit!" Hamuko panted, the hate was eating her alive and she wanted it out.
Sometimes she wished she could beat the crap out of Minato for real, with him being serious about the battle as well. Hamuko wanted to prove that Minato was the inferior cousin, reason why she always ended up challenging him to matches. But one thing was for sure, Minato never actually took her seriously. He didn't hit back like when he fought against Ryder or the shadows. He usually shrugged the hits off, and Hamuko was sure he switched to some resistant persona most of the time.
"I hate you so much at times," Hamuko bit her lip. "I shouldn't have come back, I'm looking like a fool, someone who doesn't belong in the battlefield." It wasn't an ordinary fight, it was a battle between a Messiah and something downright terrifying.
"Fuck," Hamuko muttered under her breath.
She clenched her fist. "I hope you died instead of them..." She closed her eyes and shook her head. "No no, dammit. He's your cousin! Think clear, Hamuko."
A hot gust of wind blew, and the atmosphere around Hamuko got heavier, the air tainted with dread and despair. Hamuko was so pissed that she bother waiting. She was sure no one else was around, since that is what usually happened with them.
"Come the fuck out!" Hamuko demanded. "I want to kill, I want to destroy!"
A snickered answered her, nearly sending her over the edge again. "Come out, scum!"
"Patience, Hamuko," From the shadows, a familiar, tall and blonde haired scumbag approached Hamuko who had her guard up.
"You made the wrong choice, prick," Hamuko scowled. "I'm not weak as Ruby or Elizabeth, I'll kick your ass!"
"Minato is always calm, not one to boil his blood so easily," Hayate said with a chuckle.
"You son of a bi-" Hamuko was cut off.
"And he doesn't need words to back himself up. His fighting is enough to shut people up, unlike you, Hamuko," Hayate shot back, circling Hamuko around like a predator.
"What's the point, huh? You gonna spray salt on my wounds? I'll stick the whole bottle up your ass," Hamuko charged in for an attack but she ended up tripping as Hayate casually stuck his foot out.
Hamuko shot back up and tried to spear Hayate but like before, the blonde haired teenager ended up evading it with ease.
"Stop it, you and I both know that you are not even a quarter of the fighter that Minato is," Hayate spoke, making Hamuko clench her teeth.
"Fuck you!" Hamuko panted. "All this time, I've busted my ass and it won't be for nothing!" Hamuko tried to go for another strike, but this time, Hayate knock her back with a punch of his own.
Hamuko felt several of facial muscles crack from the impact, which nearly knocked her out unconscious. Hamuko barely held on and collapsed onto her knees, her lip busted open.
Hayate smirked.
Hamuko began to pound her fists onto the ground. "WHY? WHY? WHY?"
"Because, you are weak," Hayate sneered. "You are average, the one who you keep comparing yourself to is the Messiah."
"He's nothing!" Hamuko shot back. "I've owned him from childhood towards this day. He doesn't fight back because he knows he is nothing in front of me."
"Pft, he doesn't give a rat's ass about you, woman," Hayate sighed. "You could even strip right in front of him, he wouldn't give a shit and just end up going to Elizabeth. I mean really, Elizabeth is way more beautiful than you'll ever be, and you know it."
"S-Shut up," Hamuko mumbled.
"He doesn't take you seriously, because you are weak. Weak than Junpei, weaker than Yukari. Seasoned persona users, and you? Haha, someone who by luck got thrusted into this battle and now you think you're hot shit."
"We will win, but make no mistake about it, the last enemy to fall will be Minato, he is a notch above, for a reason you simply cannot understand or comprehend."
"I-I..."
"Don't waste it, woman," Hayate said. "Be with him and you'll remain weak. There is only one alpha male at your side, and he's Minato, and he will always be. The rest are dog turds for us, if it wasn't for him, you'd all be dead. And for you, get used to living in shadow. Because you are weak and he is not."
"HEY!" Hayate sighed and turned around to face the male. Minato had a stern look on his face, and he wasn't alone. Theo, Margaret, Elizabeth were standing next to him. Akihiko and Junpei had came too.
"Get away from her or I'll drag you," Minato spat.
Hayate held his hands up and began to slowly disappear into mist. "Like you can, Messiah," Moments later, he vanished. Minato hurried towards Hamuko who was not moving.
"Are you okay?" Minato asked worriedly.
Hamuko snickered. "Minato?"
"Yes?"
"Do you think I'm weak?" Hamuko asked again.
"Hamu-" Hamuko cut her cousin off by tackling him onto the ground. And this time, things were pretty serious.
"Holy hell!" Junpei cried. Hamuko rolled over Minato, going over his back before locking his arm into a tight submission. Minato wasn't even in his complete senses, he could feel it; this wasn't fun and games anymore.
"GUYS!?" Akihiko shouted but Hamuko ignored him and tightened the hold, before smashing her foot onto her cousin's skull.
"UGH!" Minato easily powered his way out of the hold, before backing away. "DAMMIT! What the hell are you doing?" He said through clenched teeth. Hamuko stood up in mere seconds, before charging for Minato once again.
Hamuko speared Minato right into the wall. "You silver spoon motherfucker," Hamuko scowled, thrusting her shoulder into Minato's gut.
Minato shoved Hamuko away again and yelled. "Come to your senses, fool!"
"Persona!" Hamuko yelled, crushing the card in her palm. Vulcanus rose up behind her, harnessing a fireball into his palms. Minato clicked his tongue and switched. Vulcanus threw the ball of flames towards Minato who walked straight through the flames with no damage. Hamuko took a step back but Minato was way quicker. He ended up right in front of her, locking an iron tight grip around her wrists.
"Minato-kun, let it go," Elizabeth pleaded.
"What is wrong with you, huh?" Minato scowled. He was growing angrier by each other but he couldn't bring himself to hurt Hamuko.
"I'm gonna show you, asshole," Hamuko kicked Minato right in the nads, making him collapse to the ground. Hamuko rammed her knee right into Minato's face, flooring him.
"Hamuko-san, let it go!" Theo cried but Hamuko didn't listen. She attempted a stomp this time but Minato cross blocked and rolled away.
Minato's lip was busted open as well. Hamuko looked somewhat pleased at that, however, she was panting hard while Minato didn't look like he even broke a sweat. The message was clear, Hayate was right, Minato was miles above than her.
Minato bit his lip. It was clear, Hamuko hated him right now. But why?
The redhead charged for Minato once again who didn't budge an inch. He calmly took two punches and ended up staggering backwards. Maybe letting Hamuko vent her anger out will work. Hamuko continued the assault and this time, the audible cracking of bones and painful groans from Minato really made Hamuko's blood run hot. She was... almost enjoying this.
Elizabeth finally had enough, she ran right for the two and got between them. Hamuko gritted her teeth and shoved Elizabeth away with ease, making her smash into the wall before slowly sliding down with a whimper.
Minato finally reached his breaking point. This had gone way too far. He easily avoided Hamuko's blow and curled his hand into a fist, before smashing it against her gut. Hamuko widened her eyes from the pain, the punch felt like it would rip through her flesh. It was more powerful than the one Hayate landed on her face.
... So, it was right after all.
Minato backed away as Hamuko landed on the ground, clutching her stomach in pain.
"Now you know," Minato spat, shaking his head. "Yes, I'm more powerful than you, everyone knows that. Don't be like Ryder, Hamuko, grow up."
"Fuck you," Hamuko said through clenched teeth and a mouthful of blood. "But I know the truth, you don't give a crap about me, right?" She let out a bitter laugh. "All this time I thought I was better, but you came in and gave me a reality check. You were born into success and had a silver spoon in your mouth, I didn't. And things didn't change, you are the Messiah, and I am... nobody."
Minato opened his mouth but Hamuko continued. "That's okay, I don't give a crap about you either. I wish..." She stood up. "I wish you died in the accident."
"..." Minato went speechless. Hamuko began to limp away, not sparing a glance to anyone, not even Theo. She didn't turn around, and so, she missed a single tear that traveled down Minato's cheek.
Hello guys. Yes, as you can see, I am kinda back. I wrote this because DecdoeLordofVision and Clear Chaos requested it, and I hope both of you enjoyed it.
As for the story, this will be ending pretty soon. If you think this is a crack fic, welp, it won't be humor any longer. Get ready for some nerve wrecking tensions and situations. Expect death as well, and you will find almost every OC being retooled in some way or another. Like Terry suffered a psychotic break because of the added stress and anxiety. Ruby will be there next chapter and you can expect something different about her.
Hayate is a master manipulator. He knows how to tick buttons and really get under someone's skin. What do you reckon will happen to Hamuko? Will she be a lone wolf or end up with Ryder? Her jealousy finally evolved into hatred. Don't worry, its still Hamuko x Theo.
Please do review and let me know your thoughts. See you all soon.
