Chapter 53

Blaine walked down into the main party area and grinned, Kurt had been doing the finishing touches in the past half an hour and the living room and kitchen area was now covered in balloons, there was a large dining table in the centre of the living room with plates on, wines and beers on the table and it just looked perfect.

"I hope you had help moving the table..." Blaine pouted as he wrapped his arms around Kurt. He had only left him for about half an hour so he could sort out some of their clothes.

"Finn moved it." Kurt grinned.

"On my own." Finn sighed shaking his head as he walked in, Kurt rolled his eyes as Finn and Blaine started to have awkward small talk whilst he just finished making sure everything looked perfect.

Devon came in a few minutes after and pouted. "I didn't think it was a party..."

"Well it wasn't supposed to be but I thought why not." Kurt shrugged. "We like parties don't we."

"Yes. But now I need to change." Devon said dramatically and stalked upstairs, leaving Kurt and Blaine laughing.

"What's all this?" Burt asked as he walked into the kitchen.

"I got a bit carried away decorating, but it's a special occasion." Kurt shrugged.

"I better go and put a nice shirt on then." Burt smiled and wondered off.

"Maybe that's where I got it from." Kurt grinned looking at Blaine who shook his head.

"No, I think you're where he got it from." Blaine nodded.

The party was going great, Devon was glued to his Grandpa bouncing from foot to foot as he tried to talk to everyone. Kurt smiled, talking to Tina about her latest acting project, she was just waiting for her big break and Kurt hated that it seemed that that was all she did, in high school all she seemed to do was wait for her moment to shine, and when she got it it seemed that she never shined bright as she hoped. Kurt hoped that now she was older she could find her big break and show the world just how amazing Tina was. He was halfway through talking to her about his latest fashion favourites when the door rang, Kurt left her to go and answer it.

"Hey Kurt." Cooper grinned, embracing Kurt into a firm hug but being very careful of his stomach.

"Hey Coop. Thanks for coming."

"No problem, I was honoured to be invited to a Kurt Hummel event." Cooper grinned making Kurt just roll his eyes. "You remember my dad..."

"Of course, it's nice to see you again." Kurt smiled, shaking hands with Blaine and Cooper's father. They hadn't spoken since the meal, though Blaine had a few conversations with him, he knew his future father in law wanted to be a part of this family and Kurt knew Blaine wanted him to be too. Blaine had been meaning to talk to his dad for a while and Kurt hoped this would give him the opportunity he needed.

"You too. Thank you for inviting me."

"You're welcome." Kurt smiled. "And those must be Blaine's friends from school?" Kurt grinned when he saw a group of four men approaching.

"They are indeed." Cooper smiled.

"Hey, your shirt is amazing." A slightly chubby boy with the most contagious smile Kurt had ever seen said.

"Thanks." Kurt chuckled.

"I'm Trent, you must be Kurt."

"That's me." Kurt smiled somewhat embarrassed.

"This is Nick, Jeff and Wes." Trent smiled introducing the men.

"Nice to meet you all. Come on in, Blaine's around somewhere, probably near the beer, he's not on daddy duty tonight and it seems he is letting his curls down."

"This I have to see." Jeff grinned and he and Nick walked in the house, Wes and Trent following quickly.

Blaine laughed at something Puck had said, though maybe he was just laughing at the guys hair or that he was called Puck. At first he had been a little bit intimidated, he had met most of Kurt's friends but them being in one room all with a few glasses of wine or beer in their systems was a little daunting for him. "Who's the posh dudes?" Puck asked as the four warblers made their way over.

"Oh my god!" Blaine screeched when he saw his friends. "Who...What..."

"Cooper invited us." Trent grinned hugging his friend.

"Cooper?" Blaine frowned.

"Actually I told Cooper to invite them, and Cooper was invited and your dad." Kurt said from beside Trent.

"You..." Blaine looked up and saw his dad and Cooper behind them.

"Hey son." Blaine's father smiled warmly.

"Hey dad. Thanks for coming." Blaine smiled.

"Wouldn't miss it." He smiled.

"And neither would I." Cooper winked making Kurt and Blaine roll their eyes.

It was over dinner that they were going to make their announcements. They were all cramped together at the table, some were even sitting on the sofa that had been pulled over because they really weren't expecting this many people, but lucky they had made more than enough food. Everyone was eating happily, a comfortable buzz of chatter had swarmed over them and Devon looked up at Kurt with bored eyes. "Daddy now?"

"Okay." Kurt chuckled, it seemed Devon had had enough of keeping his secret to himself and wanted them all to know the good news. Kurt looked at Blaine who nodded and took Kurt's hand and stood up. Devon pouted and stood up on his chair.

"Guys, we'd like to share something with you." Blaine grinned, his voice cracking with nerves and excitement. "The past few months with Kurt and Devon have been absolutely amazing, and it's like all of my dreams and wishes have come true at once." Kurt smiled at his partner, his eyes watering. "I thought I couldn't be happier, but it turned out I could be. The day Kurt told me he would marry me was the best day of my life."

The room was engulfed in cheers as they thought that was what the announcement was. Blaine laughed along with Kurt and Devon frowned shaking his head. "No daddy you forgot the twins!" Devon said loudly making everyone stop cheering and look up at them.

"Well no, I was about to add that on." Blaine laughed picking up a confused looking Devon.

"Twins?" Burt grinned.

"Twins." Kurt nodded rubbing his belly. "As some of you noticed I am a bit bigger then I was and that's because I have two amazing little babies growing inside of me."

"They got me a space set!" Devon grinned excitedly glad he could finally relax that the secret was out.

"They did." Kurt smiled rubbing Devon's cheek. "We just wanted to share our amazing news."

"Congratulations." Was said over and over and the rest of the meal was spent talking about babies and their plans for a bigger house.

"Thank you for coming, Dad." Blaine smiled as he approached his father. They were both outside, his father had come out to grab some air. Blaine followed wanting a few moments alone with him.

"I wouldn't have missed it. Kurt mentioned to Cooper that he wanted some people here for you to say your big news too, but he wanted your side too. I tried to convince your mom..."

"It's okay. You're here and that's amazing." Blaine smiled. "I was going to come and see you when we got back. I hate how things are between us dad."

"Me too, son. I see how Kurt is with his father and I just hope it's not too late for us to have that."

"It's not." Blaine smiled squeezing his dad's arm.

"Good. I can't believe you're having twins." He laughed.

"Neither can we." Blaine smiled. "It's weird, I always wanted a big family, I always wanted to be married and I thought maybe we'd adopt...but now I have Kurt. I have biological children...It's more than I could ever have asked for."

"You deserve a chance of being a real family,"

"I have a real family with you dad, my childhood wasn't like everyone else's but it was still good, you never hurt me, you never neglected me. I had everything I could have asked for,"

"But you could have had more. You had the toys, the latest gadgets, the best education, but you could have had more from me and your mom, I just...I want you to know that I will be here to support you and your family. I love you Blaine, and Kurt and Devon are amazing and I know the twins will be too."

"Thank you." Blaine whispered his eyes watering.

"I want to give you this," He pulled out an envelope with a key in. "It's a house. A friend of mine put it up for sale, and when he described it to me I knew it would be perfect for you. It has four bedrooms, an office, and a nice garden. It's near your work and Kurt's and the schools..."

"Dad I can't accept this." Blaine whispered.

"Yes you will, and if you don't like it then you sell it and keep the money to find your own place that you like. It's the least I can do."

"Okay." Blaine whispered wrapping his arms around him. "Thank you Dad."

"You're welcome," He smiled patting his son on the back.
