His ears twitched to hear his father sigh. Makoto craned his head to the side to stare up at his father who had an annoyed look on his face. The boy was fairly confused over the small action. Today was a peaceful day, no demons to fight, no demon exterminations and no nine year olds tugging on his ears.

Makoto grimaced when he remembered being reunited with his family, he and his sister traveled to their aunt and uncle's home to accompany their children. Whereas his parents had stayed behind to converse with Sesshoumaru over the situation they had faced with his mother.

The elder woman made him flinch and subconsciously release a low growl from his throat. She nearly tried to kill him, even if his sister couldn't see it. That test wasn't for power, it was a test to see whether he'd live or die. Now that strife had made his father more protective than he was, if that was possible to say the least.

Fortunately, she had left before his parents arrived, or she would have to face the wrath of his mother. Makoto smirked in amusement, he wished that the older demoness stood long enough for his mother and father to arrive. His mother would have tackled her or shot her down from anger that he noticed and radiated off her, if it weren't for the pup she was carrying.

"Your Haha-ue wanted some herb the old hag wanted right?" Inuyasha asked his son who looked dazed. Makoto nodded slowly and continued on walking.

The blazing sun above them made him feel dizzy, which was unusual for him, being that he had demon blood in his veins. Chi..Chichi-ue, I think Makoto thought to himself, now trailing behind his father.

"Ch-" He began to say when something in his body pulsed and he let out a gasp. "Chichi-ue," Makoto said louder and felt his eyelids heavy. His father stopped to question what was wrong and his eyes widened.

"Makoto," Inuyasha bellowed in concern when his son fell frontwards and collapsed on the ground, not moving. First, he strained his ears to pick up the rapid beating sounds of his son's heartbeats, then his shallow breaths. "You're okay," Inuyasha whispered to gain some control.

"It has only been week since you fools were stupid enough to believe that Makoto-kun's power was a threat," Nishiyo said, looking down at the men who stared at the dark purple marble floor.

"My lady, we sensed the…child's yōki and reiki from here in our castle, InuKimi was not injured but that child is still on our minds," One demon had dared to speak against her.

With a growl of irritation, Nishiyo did not comment on what the dog demon spoke of and she exited the grand hall, shaking her head in annoyance.

The dog demoness rubbed her temples, feeling a headache starting and she moaned in slight pain,"I do not know how I deal those old men."

"Nishiyo-sama, something the matter?" A friend and fellow follower of hers asked when he noticed her skin paler than it was. Nishiyo closed her eyes in concentration, her right eye twitching and her brows lowering.

Her eyelids snapped open in realization,"Something is wrong. Do not tell the elders of my leaving, I wish to keep this at rest, I must travel quickly to Inuyasha-kun's village." Her follower gasped in astonishment and opened his mouth to protest.

"B-But my lady, it is not wise to go unguarded, the ningen of that village will see to it that you must be destroyed." He reached out to stop her when he was taken aback by the glare she had given.

"That does not matter, Makoto-kun's yōki could be felt from here. The boy is having a battle within himself, if I do not go now, he will surely die." Nishiyo whisked her fur wrap around herself and walked on to the entrance of the sky castle. Her eyes narrowed, Not even tensaiga could revive him.

"My Lady!" Her follower shouted but his shout was drowned by her loud roar, transforming into her true form, then took off to the sky.

Kagome wondered around the hut slowly, her daughter was playing on the wooden floor of their home with the doll Rin had given her. "Kisara, would you like some rice to eat now?" Kagome asked, turning her head to see her daughter shoot up and nod enthusiastically.

Kisara smiled as her mother turned and told her to sit down in the chair to begin eating. The young pup stumbled toward the table and pulled the chair back, settling down to start eating her food. "Itad-" Kisara froze when she saw a figure walking toward the shoji door.

"Haha-ue," Kisara whispered to catch her mother's attention. It was a dog demon, a female one, and she wasn't too sure if it was the demoness that wanted to hurt her brother.

"Relax Kisara-chan, I mean no harm," Nishiyo said, loud enough so Kagome could hear. Kisara raised her arm in alert, not truly convinced that the female dog demon wouldn't conflict any danger. "Sweetheart, it is okay, Nishiyo-sama is a friend." Her ears twitched to hear her mother's calming voice, bringing her to slowly lower her arm, her claws shrunk a little when the demoness entered with a smile.

Shippo walked by the village grounds having visited Kaede and now headed to see his adopted parents and siblings. "I wonder what was going on, Kaede has been rather quiet lately, the twins have been more…happier too. Next thing I know Inuyasha would be running around like a lost dog."

His nose caught the scent of the said half-demon, making the kit turn his head over his shoulder to glaze behind him. Eyes bulged when he was later eating dirt and clearly not seen by Inuyasha himself.

Shippo gritted his teeth and a feeling of familiarity washed over him, remembering how Kagome would sit Inuyasha,"I think I know how it feels. I can't feel my back…" He groaned in agony, even if it would soon go away, but eased his head down onto the ground.

"Everyone is going crazy today," He muttered when he finally regained the lost strength and feeling of his back. Shippo rose to his feet, then quickly hurried after his adopted father. His eyes settled to notice a figure in Inuyasha's arms, a small arm dangling loosely in the air.

Shippo picked up his speed and ran close near Inuyasha,"Hey, what happened?"

His adopted father didn't say a word and carried on to the direction of his family's house. Shippo wondered what was happened ever since he left.

Inuyasha barreled into the hut and saw Nishiyo speaking with his wife. "Ni..what are-" At the sight of him and Makoto in his arms, the two women rushed to his side to inspect the young pup.

"His yōki and reiki are fighting inside of him. Kisara-chan informed me of what took place a week ago when InuKimi had arrived. The power he had unlocked is raging inside of his body," Nishiyo told Inuyasha who wasn't comfortable how the demoness tried to take his son away.

Kagome noticed his action and placed her hand on his shoulder,"Inuyasha, I trust her." The look she received from her husband wasn't that of confusion but of worry over their son. Inuyasha gave her a curt nod before handing his son slowly to the demoness who stood waiting.

Kisara choked up sobs and was the first to notice her older brother, Shippo, by the shoji door. "Shippo-onii-chan," Kisara whispered, motioning him to enter the hut. Shippo slowly entered and was greeted by the small pup and then his adopted mother when she heard her daughter say his name.

Nishiyo placed the boy on the futon that was left out for him,"It is getting worse, as I feared." The demoness heard a menacing growl emit from the pup's father and she shook him a look. "Inuyasha, don't you start. I would do what I can to bring him back."

Kagome gasped and placed a hand over her heart, her eyes watered at the words that were chosen from the female dog demon. "Makoto-kun will be fine, as long as he doesn't give into his powers, if he does-…there will be nothing I can do," Nishiyo informed, her head lowering apologetically.

"Am I dead?" Makoto whispered to himself, his eyes blinked various times to have a clearer view. He pushed himself up with the palms of his hands and felt the wind dance around him.

He was in a field of flowers, bellflowers to be exact, and gazed up to see a shadow hovering over him.

"No, you aren't dead little one," he was greeted by a soft voice, but it held power and seriousness as well. She looks like…no but that isn't my Haha-ue. Makoto turned his head to the side. "Who are you?"

The woman's face became clearer and a small, sad smile appeared on her face,"My name is Kikyo."
